What really controls blood pressure is the Medulla oblongata
The Medulla Oblongata Controls and Regulates plays a crucial role in regulatingvital functions such as heartbeat, breathing, and blood pressure. is the lowest part of the brainstem, connecting the brain to the spinal cord. Additionally, it serves as a pathway for nerve signals between the brain and the body, making it essential for autonomic functions. The medulla oblongata is located just above the spinal cord and below the pons, and it is involved in several reflex actions, including swallowing and vomiting.
Yes, it’s a small piece of the brain that connects to the spine. It controls many of the automatic parts of our bodies, like our breathing, heart rate and stress hormones. It also controls the kidneys and the expansion and retraction of the arteries.

Role of the Medulla Oblongata in Hypertension | Hypertension
The Medulla oblongs control everything that contributes to high blood pressure.
The body’s alive and constantly changing. Like when we move around, the arteries expand to allow more blood flow to the muscles and organs.
Stress is Making the heart pound faster, causing the blood pressure to hike. She laughs again.
While laughing and relaxing causes the heart to slow down, the arteries to widen, and the blood pressure to calm down.
Up one second, down another, all day long. All controlled by the Medulla oblongs without anyone giving it a second thought.
Now the problem… Throughout our lives, the Medulla oblongs start to malfunction.
Stress, bad diets, lifestyles, difficult life experiences — who knows. All kinds of factors play a role and pile up, causing our blood pressure to rise.
So we have to get the Medulla oblongs back on track.

How do I control the Medulla oblongs? It’s all unconscious, isn’t it? I ask.
Have you heard about mind-body exercises?
Yes, I tried sitting meditation and Yoga. It helped a little – not a lot.
That’s because these traditional mind-body exercises are not specifically designed for blood pressure.
Many landmark studies confirm that traditional practices are helpful. Just not as helpful as modern mind-body exercises specifically designed for people with high blood pressure.
That’s where a guy called Christian Goodman comes in.
Never heard of him, I say.
I hadn’t either. It was my doctor who told me about him, she says.
Christian is praised and respected among health professionals. Many doctors refer their patients to him, especially clients with drug-resistant high blood pressure or those who experience severe side effects.
A while back, Christian began to improve different mind-body techniques to better deal with high blood pressure.
He wants his blood pressure exercises to be quicker, easier and more effective than the traditional ones. We’re not hermits with nothing to do except meditate all day… especially if the results are kinda meh.
The outcome is the best mind-body exercises for people with high blood pressure. The 3 exercises to lower blood pressure by Christian Goodman
Walking in Rhythm exercise
The first exercise is based on a kind of rhythmic walking for 10 minutes that can be performed indoors on the spot or during a stroll outside. It involves synchronized arm swinging and repeating to yourself ” right left right left etc.”.
That’s it! Easy but … effective?
Actually even mild physical activity like walking or moving on the spot is beneficial to your health and blood pressure over time – but don’t expect a miracle cure from it!
Emotional Release exercise
The next exercise is an ‘emotional release exercise’ that involves regulated breathing and experiencing emotional states (and release). It is based on the principle this exercise will release tension … and tension is the main cause of your hypertension – right? If not you’re out of luck with this exercise.
The guided emotional release exercise lasts about 20 minutes. It is a mix between breathing exercises, deep relaxation and meditation.
Expect to feel very relaxed, or possibly drift off to sleep while practising this exercise.
Traditional Relaxation exercise
Christian tells us that this deep relaxation exercise is best performed just before sleep.
It is about 20 minutes long and focuses on breathing and muscle relaxation.
Studies have shown that blood pressure tends to decrease when the mind and body is relaxed so they should result in beneficial effects so doing this exercise can only be a good thing. But whether this exercise has any overall long term benefit on your blood pressure is unknown.
As with the emotional release exercise, if too much stress and tension isn’t the main cause of your high blood pressure it will not be a sufficient cure.

All 3 exercises are relatively easy to do and don’t take up too much time. Anyone who practices one or more of these exercises daily will probably experience a reduction in overall tension.
Whether that reduction in tension results in a significant and permanent reduction in your blood pressure will depend on you. If the prime cause of your high blood pressure is too much stress and tension in your life Christian Goodman’s 3 exercises could be beneficial.
Then it only takes nine minutes
I could spare nine minutes, I say.
What’s the mechanism? How do these exercises help with blood pressure?
It’s definitely related to stress. Not necessarily conscious stress like “I’m having road rage stress,” although they help with that, too.
More like directly addressing the stress hormones that have piled up in our bloodstream.
The blood pressure exercises do more than that, though.
They somehow help reset the Medulla oblongs, which then regulates the heart, arteries and kidney to better manage blood pressure.
Kinda like rebooting a frozen computer.
To tell you the truth, I don’t even care.
My blood pressure was averaging 172/111 before and now it’s steady 115/74. So whatever these exercises do works.
I never knew how the medicine I was taking worked, either. Just that they made me feel like crap.
And failed to regulate my blood pressure.
God moves in a mysterious way. And maybe it’s just God working through Christian Goodman.
There are definitely lots of scientific studies supporting this, even if most of them use mind-body exercises that aren’t as effective as Christian’s.
So, as my blood pressure nosedived over a few weeks, my doctor monitored and cut my drugs gradually – till I was off all meds.
Where can I find Christian’s blood pressure exercises?
She told me were.

Barbara O’Neill (born 28 July 1953[1]) is an Australian alternative health care promoter who advertises unsupported health practices described as misinformation and a risk to health and safety by the New South Wales Health Care Complaints Commission.[2] She does not have any recognised qualifications and did not finish nursing training.
She has presented her claims at alternative medicine organizations, wellness retreats, and Seventh-day Adventist Churches.[1][3] She is married to Michael O’Neill, the founder of the now-defunct Informed Medical Options Party, an anti-vaccination and anti-fluoride political group.[3] In 2019, the Health Care Complaints Commission in New South Wales ruled that she is prohibited from providing any health-related services following several complaints from the public and health professionals.[1][3]
An investigation found that she provided dangerous advice to vulnerable patients, such as telling those with cancer to forego prescribed chemotherapy for bicarbonate of soda, and to give infants unpasteurised goat’s milk.[4] The investigation found that she also did not have any qualifications in a health-related field, and that she failed to meet the expected standards of unregistered health professionals.[1]
Activities
O’Neill has promoted herself as a naturopath, nutritionist, and health educator since at least 2004, despite lacking any relevant qualifications or training.[2][3][4] She has rejected the claim that her claims are unsupported, but admitted to not being able to provide any evidence when asked by the Health Care Complaints Commission.[1]
She ran the Misty Mountain Health Retreat near Kempsey with her husband, charging clients as much as A$2,450 per person for a one-week stay for one person, to A$8,800 for two people for two weeks.[3] She also provided paid telephone consultations.[4] According to O’Neill’s website, provided detox services claiming to aid recovery from heart disease, diabetes, hormonal imbalance, chronic fatigue, candida/fungus, drug addiction, cancer, heartburn, and obesity.[1]
Videos of her presentations have been viewed more than 700,000 times.[2] As a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, she has also spoken at churches.[1] She previously worked at health retreats in Australia before she was barred from doing so by the HCCC, but continues to conduct them in New Zealand and the United States.[5] She has also published several books on health and nutrition which include dangerous claims and advice.[1]
O’Neill continues to deliver programs aimed at cancer patients in the United States as of July 2023 at a cost of almost US$6,000 per person.[6] O’Neill also delivers services in the Cook Islands. In this book, Theodore Jamieson provides evidence-based protocols for incorporating herbal remedies and nutritional oncology into personalized treatment plans. The text meticulously details the therapeutic properties of specific herbs and foods, emphasizing their roles in mitigating cancerous processes and bolstering the body’s innate defense systems.
A multidisciplinary perspective is adopted, integrating the physiological, psychological, and nutritional dimensions of cancer care. The book also discusses the mind-body connection, highlighting the role of stress management and emotional resilience in promoting optimal therapeutic responses.
Inspired by the work of Barbara O’Neill, Theodore Jamieson offers a rigorous and all encompassing guide to integrative holistic oncology and natural cancer treatment.
This is a thorough guide aimed at equipping individuals with insights and actionable approaches for fighting cancer through holistic methods. This book shines a light for those exploring holistic or supportive approaches alongside traditional cancer treatments.
By emphasizing the restorative qualities found in nature, the book seeks to offer readers a comprehensive insight into how specific plants and foods can significantly contribute to the prevention and management of cancer. The book is designed to be accessible, featuring straightforward explanations of intricate medical ideas and useful tips for incorporating holistic approaches into everyday routines.
It features comprehensive descriptions of different plants and foods that have been scientifically proven to have anti-cancer effects, along with recipes and meal plans to assist readers in integrating these into their diets. The primary aim of the book is to provide a comprehensive perspective on cancer treatment, highlighting the significance of diet, lifestyle adjustments, and emotional health in the path to recovery.
