**The Five Inspired Fundamentals of the U.S. Constitution.**

Excerpt from Elder Dallin H. Oaks February 1992 Ensign article,

To summarize, I see divine inspiration in these [five] great fundamentals
of the U.S. Constitution: the separation of powers in the three branches of government; the Bill of Rights; the division of powers between the states and the federal government; …the application of popular sovereignty; [and], the rule of law and not of men.

Further, there is divine inspiration in the fundamental underlying premise of this whole constitutional order. All the blessings enjoyed under the United States Constitution are dependent upon the rule of law. That is why President J. Reuben Clark said, “Our allegiance run[s] to the Constitution and to the principles which it embodies, and not to individuals.”

Five Great Fundamentals Of The Constitution
**Called Unto Liberty, 20th Century Sermons, Dallin H. Oaks**
On my list [of fundamentals of the Constitution] there are five great fundamentals.

**1. Separation of powers.**
The idea of separation of powers was at least a century old. The English Parliament achieved an initial separation of legislative and executive authority when they wrested certain powers from the king in the revolution of 1688. The concept of separation of powers became well established in the American colonies. State constitutions adopted during the Revolution distinguished between the executive, legislative, and judicial functions. Thus, a document commenting on the proposed Massachusetts Constitution of 1778, speaks familiarly of the principle “that the legislative, judicial, and executive powers are to be lodged in different hands, that each branch is to be independent, and further, to be so balanced, and be able to exert such checks upon the others, as will preserve it from dependence on, or a union with them (Quoted in Gerhard Casper, “Constitutionalism,” Occasional Papers from the Law School, The University of Chicago, no. 22, 1987).”
Thus, we see that the inspiration on the idea of separation of powers came long before the U.S. Constitutional Convention. The inspiration in the convention was in its original and remarkably successful adaptation of the idea of separation of powers to the practical needs of a national government. The delegates found just the right combination to assure the integrity of each branch, appropriately checked and balanced with the others. As President Clark said:
“It is this union of independence and dependence of these branches—legislative, executive and judicial—and of the governmental functions possessed by each of them, that constitutes the marvelous genius of this unrivalled document. … As I see it, it was here that the divine inspiration came. It was truly a miracle (Church News, 29 Nov. 1952, p. 12, quoted in Hillam, “By the Hands of Wise Men,” p. 48.).”

**2. A written bill of rights.**
This second great fundamental came by amendment, but I think Americans all look upon the Bill of Rights as part of the inspired work of the Founding Fathers. The idea of a bill of rights was not new. Once again, the inspiration was in the brilliant, practical implementation of preexisting principles. Almost six hundred years earlier, King John had subscribed to the Magna Charta, which contained a written guarantee of some rights for certain of his subjects. The English Parliament had guaranteed individual rights against royal power in the English Bill of Rights of 1689. Even more recently, some of the charters used in the establishment of the American colonies had written guarantees of liberties and privileges, with which the delegates were familiar.
I have always felt that the United States Constitution’s closest approach to scriptural stature is in the phrasing of our Bill of Rights. Without the free exercise of religion, America could not have served as the host nation for the restoration of the gospel, which began just three decades after the Bill of Rights was ratified. I also see scriptural stature in the concept and wording of the freedoms of speech and press, the right to be secure against unreasonable searches and seizures, the requirements that there must be probable cause for an arrest and that accused persons must have a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury, and the guarantee that a person will not be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. President Ezra Taft Benson has said, “Reason, necessity, tradition, and religious conviction all lead me to accept the divine origin of these rights (Ezra Taft Benson, The Constitution, a Heavenly Banner, Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1986, p. 6.).”
The Declaration of Independence had posited these truths to be “self-evident,” that all men “are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights,” and that governments are instituted “to secure these Rights.” This inspired Constitution was established to provide a practical guarantee of these God-given rights (see D&C 101:77), and the language implementing that godly objective is scriptural to me.

**3. Division of powers.**
Another inspired fundamental of the U.S. Constitution is its federal system, which divides government powers between the nation and the various states. Unlike the inspired adaptations mentioned earlier, this division of sovereignty was unprecedented in theory or practice. In a day when it is fashionable to assume that the government has the power and means to right every wrong, we should remember that the U.S. Constitution limits the national government to the exercise of powers expressly granted to it. The Tenth Amendment provides:
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited to it by the States, are reserved to the States respectively or to the people.”
This principle of limited national powers, with all residuary powers reserved to the people or to the state and local governments, which are most responsive to the people, is one of the great fundamentals of the U.S. Constitution.
The particular powers that are reserved to the states are part of the inspiration. For example, the power to make laws on personal relationships is reserved to the states. Thus, laws of marriage and family rights and duties are state laws. This would have been changed by the proposed Equal Rights Amendment (E.R.A.). When the First Presidency opposed the E.R.A., they cited the way it would have changed various legal rules having to do with the family, a result they characterized as “a moral rather than a legal issue (First Presidency letter of 12 Oct. 1978.).” I would add my belief that the most fundamental legal and political objection to the proposed E.R.A. was that it would effect a significant reallocation of law-making power from the states to the federal government.

**4. Popular sovereignty.**
Perhaps the most important of the great fundamentals of the inspired Constitution is the principle of popular sovereignty: The people are the source of government power. Along with many religious people, Latter-day Saints affirm that God gave the power to the people, and the people consented to a constitution that delegated certain powers to the government. Sovereignty is not inherent in a state or nation just because it has the power that comes from force of arms. Sovereignty does not come from the divine right of a king, who grants his subjects such power as he pleases or is forced to concede, as in Magna Charta. The sovereign power is in the people. I believe this is one of the great meanings in the revelation which tells us that God established the Constitution of the United States,
“That every man may act … according to the moral agency which I have given unto him, that every man may be accountable for his own sins in the day of judgment.

“Therefore, it is not right that any man should be in bondage one to another.
“And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land.” (D&C 101:78–80.)
In other words, the most desirable condition for the effective exercise of God-given moral agency is a condition of maximum freedom and responsibility. In this condition men are accountable for their own sins and cannot blame their political conditions on their bondage to a king or a tyrant. This condition is achieved when the people are sovereign, as they are under the Constitution God established in the United States. From this it follows that the most important words in the United States Constitution are the words in the preamble: “We, the people of the United States … do ordain and establish this Constitution.”
President Ezra Taft Benson expressed the fundamental principle of popular sovereignty when he said, “We [the people] are superior to government and should remain master over it, not the other way around (Benson, The Constitution, a Heavenly Banner, p. 7.).” The Book of Mormon explains that principle in these words:
“An unrighteous king doth pervert the ways of all righteousness. …

“Therefore, choose you by the voice of this people, judges, that ye may be judged according to the laws. … “Now it is not common that the voice of the people desired anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law—to do your business by the voice of the people.” (Mosiah 29:23–26.)
Popular sovereignty necessarily implies popular responsibility. Instead of blaming their troubles on a king or other sovereign, all citizens must share the burdens and responsibilities of governing. As the Book of Mormon teaches, “The burden should come upon all the people, that every man might bear his part.” (Mosiah 29:34.)
President Clark’s third great fundamental was the equality of all men before the law. I believe that to be a corollary of popular sovereignty. When power comes from the people, there is no legitimacy in legal castes or classes or in failing to provide all citizens the equal protection of the laws.
The delegates to the Constitutional Convention did not originate the idea of popular sovereignty, since they lived in a century when many philosophers had argued that political power originated in a social contract. But the United States Constitution provided the first implementation of this principle. After two centuries in which Americans may have taken popular sovereignty for granted, it is helpful to be reminded of the difficulties in that pioneering effort.

To begin with, a direct democracy was impractical for a country of four million people and about a half million square miles. As a result, the delegates had to design the structure of a constitutional, representative democracy, what they called “a Republican Form of Government (U.S. Constitution, Art. IV, Sec. 4.).”
The delegates also had to resolve whether a constitution adopted by popular sovereignty could be amended, and if so, how.
Finally, the delegates had to decide how minority rights could be protected when the government was, by definition, controlled by the majority of the sovereign people.
A government based on popular sovereignty must be responsive to the people, but it must also be stable or it cannot govern. A constitution must therefore give government the power to withstand the cries of a majority of the people in the short run, though it must obviously be subject to their direction in the long run. Without some government stability against an outraged majority, the government could not protect minority rights.

*As President Clark declared:* “The Constitution was framed in order to protect minorities.
That is the purpose of written constitutions. In order that the minorities might be protected in the matter of amendments under our Constitution, the Lord required that the amendments should be made only through the operation of very large majorities—two-thirds for action in the Senate, and three-fourths as among the states. This is the inspired, prescribed order (. Reuben Clark: Selected Papers on Religion, Education, and Youth,ed. David H. Yarn, Jr., Provo, Utah: Brigham Young University Press, 1984, p. 165.).”
The delegates to the Constitutional Convention achieved the required balance between popular sovereignty and stability through a power of amendment that was ultimately available but deliberately slow. Only in this way could the government have the certainty of stability, the protection of minority rights, and the potential of change, all at the same time.

To summarize, I see divine inspiration in these four great fundamentals of the U.S. Constitution:
• the separation of powers in the three branches of government;
• the Bill of Rights;
• the division of powers between the states and the federal government; and
• the application of popular sovereignty.

**5. The rule of law and not of men.**
Further, there is divine inspiration in the fundamental underlying premise of this whole constitutional order. All the blessings enjoyed under the United States Constitution are dependent upon the rule of law. That is why President J. Reuben Clark said, “Our allegiance run[s] to the Constitution and to the principles which it embodies, and not to individuals.” 16 The rule of law is the basis of liberty.
As the Lord declared in modern revelation, constitutional laws are justifiable before him, “and the law also maketh you free.” (D&C 98:5–8.) The self-control by which citizens subject themselves to law strengthens the freedom of all citizens and honors the divinely inspired Constitution.

People Are Misinformed

It’s time to end the emergency powers from the government since the emergency is over! Everyone knows about the virus and what to do about it. The government needs to stay out of the healthcare system and leave it to the patient and their Doctors! Don’t allow the government to segregate America!

I believe on the CDC website it states that the test cannot differentiate which Coronavirus is present.  They needed to pack the numbers so the best thing to do was convert common cold and the flu into the figures. Isn’t the flu in the coronavirus family? Why else would we have record low cases of “flu” in 2020? The PCR test doesn’t tell you if you are sick or contagious or will ever become sick or contagious, it just says some amount of virus was found on the swab. Well we know there is no Covid 19 test or it’s variants! There is no isolated COVID 19 virus either!!

There are hundreds of different viruses who get categorized as the “common” cold. If memory serves I believe I read there were 5 that were coronavirus. Corona meaning nothing except the virus has a particular crown look to it.
The common cold or flu has no cure or vaccine. Is that why the -19 vax is ineffective? The PCR is so sensitive. It’s all bullshit. Casedemic. There is no vaccine for the Common Cold.
Which is aka Rhinovirus. So if The Cold is related to The Rona, there will never be a vaccine, only a prophylactic therapy. I believe on the CDC website it states that the test cannot differentiate which Coronavirus is present.  They needed to pack the numbers so the best thing to do was convert common cold and the flu into the figures. Isn’t the flu in the coronavirus family? Here we are ten years later, and the Occupy Wall Street movement has become the official platform of the Democratic Party. Their hatred of our country is no longer fringe, it is now mainstream, and it controls the White House, and both chambers of Congress. We learned a couple of things this past week. We learned General Mark Milley committed treason against the United States by telling his Chinese counterparts that he, and not the President, was in command of the United States Armed Forces. We learned that should there be any danger to China from our armed forces, he would warn them ahead of time.
In fairness to the General, I have some sympathy for his speaking with Chinese military leaders to reassure them, after the election, that we would have a peaceful transition of power. The whole purpose of the transitionary period between a President being elected and taking office is to ensure a smooth & peaceful transition, so I give Mark Milley some latitude there just as I gave Trump latitude when he contacted foreign officials before being sworn in, back in 2016 (CNN gave him no such latitude).

I do not give Mark Milley any latitude for his phone call on October 30, 2019 – before the election even took place. At that time, he was not a part of an outgoing President’s administration, and had no responsibility to help ensure a peaceful transition of power. He was, instead, claiming to have taken over as Commander in Chief himself, in a flagrant violation of his duties, of the Constitution, and his Chain of Command. That was treason, and there is no way to downgrade it, or to pass it off as something else. It was arguably the greatest act of treason in American history not directly related to the Civil War.
We can speculate about why General Milley did what he did. Speaking with the Chinese to reassure them everything would be fine makes it sound like he knew the election results before the election occurred, which would make some sense if we were about to have a fraudulent election. If the Democrats knew they were going to cheat the election and were prepared to flood swing states with millions and millions of fake ballots, it would make all the sense in the world to ensure that the highest-ranking member of the armed forces was on board. It would also make all the sense in the world for General Milley to have circled the military wagons prior to the election. In that context, the call was still treason, but it was treason committed by a whole bunch of people, and everything that happened afterward suddenly makes perfect sense.

We also learned over the past week that the political left, from President Biden on down, considers General Mark Milley a *hero* for having committed treason.
Treason being considered heroic by the left also makes perfect sense, when we consider that we had the 10th birthday of the Occupy Wall Street movement this past week. Ironically, the birthday of the Occupy Wall Street movement is on Constitution Day; it is also the birthday of the United States Constitution.
Ten short years ago, Occupy Wall Street was a fringe group of anti-American anarchists, fascists, and communists, protesting capitalism, declaring America a nation based on white supremacy, and demanding that the United States be transitioned into either fascism, a communist state, or a stateless communist utopia (depending on who in the Occupy movement you asked).

When a band of protestors took over Zuccotti Park on September 17, 2011.

Occupy Wall Street became the first ‘autonomous zone’ in the United States, declared by its occupiers to be separate from the United States. The occupiers refused to let the police enter their autonomous zone, and Mayor Bloomberg relented to their demands, allowing them to operate as a foreign nation in the middle of New York City. They ran their autonomous zone using what they called ‘The Assembly,’ which was a system in which anyone could speak, but in which the most marginalized could speak first, with the least marginalized being expected to agree with the more marginalized people who spoke before them. Occupy Wall Street introduced a new concept to the American people: Racial Essentialism. Democrats around the country rejoiced. When more autonomous zones popped up years later, some called it a ‘summer of love.’

**The left has been celebrating treason for ten years.**
Racial Essentialism is the belief that someone’s race is not only a defining characteristic of who and what they are, but that someone’s race is the *only* determining characteristic in determining who and what someone is. In other words, in every interaction between people, race is ‘essential’ in determining outcomes. Another term that came later, ‘Anti-Racism,’ is based on Racial Essentialism. To be an Anti-Racist is to believe that the United States is an evil empire of white supremacy, that ‘whiteness’ is evil, that all white people are innately corrupt, and that the only way to make up for the sins of the past is to burn our nation down, and start over from scratch, with a new nation in which white people are an oppressed minority. In other words, the left believes that the ‘solution’ to racism is more, and in their opinion, *better* racism.

Ironically, the Occupy Wall Street movement was almost all white. Not only that, but whenever people of color said things that differed from what the white leaders of the movement believed, *those* people of color were declared outcasts – traitors to their race. In other words, Occupy Wall Street was a religion in which People of Color were the priestly class, but were tied to an orthodoxy they did not write, and were powerless to change. Freedom of thought was not something Occupy Wall Street believed in, nor is it something the offshoots of the movement believe in today.
The other groups that grew out of Occupy Wall Street – Black Lives Matter, ANTIFA, etc. – all had the same issue. People of Color, particularly black people, were continuously thrust into the spotlight, but only as long as they said what they were told to say by the angry, anti-American white liberals thrusting them forward.
It is also most dangerous upfront – right where the white liberals demand that black people stand. The message to African Americans is clear: “Stand up front where the bullets are and say what we tell you to, or we will throw you out like yesterday’s trash.” How ‘progressive,’ huh?

We know what happened on inauguration day, 2020. Trump protested the election result, calling it illegitimate (and anyone awake between 2-3 AM on election night would have to agree), and told his followers to ‘peacefully and patriotically protest.’
Shortly thereafter, Washington DC’s police force opened barricades and allowed several hundred people to enter the Capitol Building, which turned into a riot after an unarmed Air Force Veteran named Ashli Babbitt, was shot dead by a police officer whose name has never been released to the public. Joe Biden then declared White Supremacy the greatest threat our nation faces, and tasked Mark Milley – the same Mark Milley who had just a few months earlier committed treason against the United States by telling China’s military leadership that he, and not the President, controlled our Armed Forces – with weeding right-wing extremism out of the military.
At the same time, all right-wing belief was declared ‘extremism,’ and linked to ‘white supremacy’ with no regard for whether or not the people on the political right were in any way racist. The justification here was that the COUNTRY is racist, and thus those who DEFEND IT are fighting FOR white supremacy, even if they themselves do not consider themselves white supremacists.

Mark Milley then began ‘wokeness’ training throughout our military, to weed out conservatives, and to redirect our military’s mission away from one of defending the nation against hostile foreign powers (like the one he committed treason for), and toward protecting the government against the American People – most of whom we are now told are white supremacists.
The official position of the United States government today is that the United States is an evil empire, whose founding documents are as racist as Mein Kampf. If you don’t believe me, note that the National Archives, under the Biden Administration, have added ‘trigger warnings’ to the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence to warn people that they should find these documents offensive.
What does the Biden Administration call the systematic destruction of the United States? They call it ‘build back better.’
‘Better,’ my ass!
Against this backdrop, Democrats are in lockstep in holding Mark Milley as a hero who saved the nation from the grips of an evil madman, helping ensure a peaceful transition of power – a transition of power Mark Milley apparently knew would occur before the election even took place.

**We learned all of this over the past week.**
When we throw into the mix that a disease that had been biologically engineered to infect people came out of a biological weapons lab in Wuhan, China, just in time to shut down the world economy (in an election year), we can start to make sense of things.
Understand that Joe Biden would not be President without Covid-19, and that China’s leadership would look very different were it still negotiating trade with the Trump Administration. When those negotiations abruptly ended. Today China buys Hunter Biden’s original artwork at millions of dollars a pop to help fill the coffers of an American President the Chinese Communist Party pumped tens of millions of dollars into, in the years leading up to the 2020 election.
Understand that 4.55 million people died worldwide, 714 thousand died in the United States (312,000 during Biden’s time) to ensure that someone Xi Jinping owned was in charge of the United States.

**And Understand that the Democratic Party is OK with that.**
While we are at it, let us also throw into the mix that the FBI concluded that there was no insurrection on January 6, 2020. Despite FBI assurances that the vandalism and trespassing that took place were disorganized and spontaneous, our Congress, at the direction of Nancy Pelosi, is actively investigating to see what Republican members of Congress may have been involved in the insurrection that did not take place. The fact that there was no insurrection will not stop the House from acting against the people who Nancy Pelosi says took part in it. The January 6 Commission is political, designed to eliminate opposition to the systematic dismantling of the United States of America.

**The traitors are in charge.**
Think about what the Biden Administration is asking us to believe – that the Democratic Party would never cheat an election, in spite of the fact that the Biden Administration believes that most Americans are white supremacists, and that the American People are the gravest threat our nation faces.
Someone could believe either that the Democratic Party believes in using democratic means to choose our leadership, or that the Democratic Party believes that the majority of the American People are white supremacists, but it makes no sense at all for people who believe the American People to be the greatest threat our nation faces, to then entrust the American People with choosing who will be President.
Of course, the Democrats cheated. And then they bragged about it in Time Magazine – only they called it ‘fortifying.’ The Democrats cheated, and they will gleefully cheat again. The Biden Administration is fighting any, and all changes that could prevent cheating, tooth, and nail, and is using the full power of the Federal Government to attack political opponents.
We are not a democracy. We are not a Democratic Republic either. We are a banana republic, with Joe Biden as our Banana in Chief.

And though I cannot prove that Mark Milley knew on October 30 what the results of the election would be, neither the act of treason he committed, nor the left’s belief that his treason was ‘heroic’ makes any sense unless Mark Milley did know on October 30, 2019, what the results of the election were going to be. If we assume for a moment that the entire Democratic leadership committed treason, suddenly everything makes sense.
Okum’s Razor says that the simplest solution is usually the correct one. If we apply that here, we would say that the Democratic Party leadership is full of traitors.
What I *can* prove is that the Democratic Party is out to destroy our country, spending trillions upon trillions of dollars to make our economy (and our monetary base) weaker. What I *can* prove is that everything the Joe Biden Administration is doing is making the United States weaker, and Communist China stronger. What I *can* prove is that China is planning to invade Taiwan – and mark my words that when it happens, the Biden Administration will do nothing. What I *can* prove is that the Chinese Communist Party controls our media houses (trading access to the Chinese media market for the ability to censor what we see in our market). I *can* prove that the current, sitting Head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, committed treason against the United States, at the behest of the Chinese Communist Party, one week before the most fraudulent election in American history.

**And I can prove that the Democratic leadership considers Mark Milley a hero.**
In the meantime, we are in the middle of the ‘Great Reset,’ with a tyrannical government telling us when we can, and when we cannot, leave our homes, and ordering 100 million Americans to get vaccinated against their will, as a condition of employment.

If making vaccine money is the only goal they can simply donate more doses, there’s a huge demand for them. Do you realize they were originally counting on 80% of the entire world being vaxed? No one is donating vaccines. Correction, the taxpayers are donating vaccines and Pharma is clotting their $35 per shot. I work for a company that employs 1850 people. In August we were offered a $500 bonus company wide if we got to 75% of the employees fully vaccinated by the end of September. As of last Friday we were at 53%.

I think the reason some people are against getting COVID shots is because of the strong-armed “do it or else” stance the national and State governments have. What’s happening here in Australia should be very telling for the world. Thankfully (it seems) that the NSW govt has finally given up and (hopefully) from December 1 they leave us the hell alone and the rest of the country is force. In this latest lockdown they have disaster payments which is a pittance it would only pay my rent that’s it no groceries, bills, etc! I don’t know how anyone without an income is surviving this. My partner and I are surviving (just) on my income currently. There are about 31.5 million seconds in a year. So in order for 6 billion people to be currently vaccinated (one dose) worldwide, 193.5 doses must have been manufactured per second for a year straight. Is that possible? Pfizer didn’t even start manufacturing until 10/2020.

Same in italy…they wanted 70% of the population vaccinated.. we got to 75% now they are aiming to the 80%..and if they don’t get it they will put the vaccine mandate to immunize everybody. Italy is the pilot state for what is coming…we are not allowed to work without the pass..

Are we still in a pandemic? Death rates are way down? Am I hearing that Sweden, Norway, Denmark are back to life as they knew it in 2019. UK too, no mandates or vax-ports?  These rates don’t matter. Corona mutates faster than they can jab. It has many reservoirs in animals you can never ever wipe out this Coronavirus. So what ya gonna do?

Vaccinate indefinitely? Without having freedom?

Vaccination doesn’t stop spreading. Vaccinated people (like myself) can spread Covid same as unvaccinated people. The vaccine doesn’t stop transmission. But with less or no symptoms we spread it silently and quicker because we ( the vaccinated ) don’t isolate when we carry it.  It’s getting difficult for them to keep hiding how many people have died (15k)+ paralysis + hospitalization + heart issues + respiratory issues + myocarditis. Hundreds of thousands of people are affected from just getting the vaccine.

All while a 99% chance of surviving if infected.

**The abounding of (secular) apocalyptic visions**.

Two years ago, the elite sages who comprise the World Economic Forum looked into their crystal ball, observed twirling chaos within the nations, and concluded that the “changes we have already seen in response to COVID-19 prove that “a (global) reset of our economic and social foundations” is possibly before us.
Two weeks ago, it was the Secretary-General of the United Nations warning us that the world is nearing a “pivot point”.

Last week Joe Biden, president of the United States, declared that the nations are at an “inflection point”.

“Apocalypse” is from the Greek word, apokalupsis, referring to the lifting of a curtain, or veil. The secular world, rejecting the Bible’s divine inspiration and its revelations of what’s behind the veil of time and history, nevertheless has a need to try to punch some peepholes in the “curtain.”

After all, as Solomon wrote, God has put “eternity” in the human heart (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
We suspect there is something deeper than what we experience through the five senses. That desire to discover the unseen is healthy because it drives us to science and the quest for knowledge.
Yet apart from the Holy Spirit and because of human vanity, the vision is obscured, and hence men and women are driven to imagining and “re-imagining” the trajectory of time and its segments.
Therefore, “reset”, “pivot”, and “inflection”, are all before us.

Apocalyptic visions abound, and so do apocalyptic questions, like:
How does the “end” come?
Is it telos (achieving a great purpose) or termination?
What does Global “reset”, “pivot”, or “inflection” look like?Who leads in this global re-imagining?

One might say these are “kingdom” issues since their provenance is the Kingdom of God and its future global manifestation as revealed by Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ.

Here, then, is the hope and the danger.
The hope is for the attributes of the Kingdom of God to characterize all the nations: righteousness-justice, peace, and Spirit-given joy. (Romans 14:17)
And the Bible reveals that all these characteristics are transcendent in their source. The human cannot make all this happen by enthroning himself-herself as God, but receiving God’s transforming presence in his and her inner being.
The Bible describes a radical reset… pivot… inflection… reimagining the world as one in which “(t)he wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf, the lion, and the yearling together, and a little child will lead them.” (Isaiah 11:6-8)
And people will swap their weapons for farming implements (Isaiah 2:4).
Therefore, the new world under the “government” of the Prince of Peace will be one that is without exploiters and predators.
The absence of exploitation and predation changes everything.
All this is because men and women will operate through the “eternity” within their hearts rather than the hell that sometimes drives their souls and bodies.

Kirk Franklin shares an old message that is still relevant for the times. Humans in that new world will aspire to this higher quality of living and relating because they have been filled, not with imaginings, but by the very Word of God because “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11:1-9)

Religious leaders asked Jesus when this new world would come. He answered: “The Kingdom of God doesn’t come by counting the days on the calendar… Nor when someone says, ‘look here!’ or, ‘There it is!’. And why? Because God’s Kingdom is already among you.” (Luke 17:20-21 NLT)
Jesus was not speaking institutionally, but personally. He was the bearer of the Kingdom attributes into the world.
Contemporary prognosticators look first and primarily at function, but Jesus’s focus is on the ontological. Function is what we do; ontological centers on what we are in our essential being.
The secular apocalyptic visions all prize function over being. History reveals just how frightening this is. When the human seeks to unveil and establish a new vision, the result always degrades into authoritarianism and tyranny.
Jesus calls for inner transformation of the person, resulting in actions consistent with His Kingdom, not human regimes. But when the reset, pivot, inflective re-positioning, re-imagining—whatever— are prescribed by people “without chests” (to borrow a concept by C.S. Lewis) the vision of the future is grim.
That was the surprising conclusion of a writer in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists in 2007: “Secular eschatological visions… have been responsible for more death and destruction in the twentieth century than the minor mischief caused by religious visions of the end.”
Along with the more obvious scary visions like Hitler’s dream of the global empire known as the “Fourth Reich” and a Marxist quest for a classless society, there is also in the West the imagining of the myth of progress through materialism and the market.

It is no wonder that Solomon, in all his God-given wisdom, would write, “Vanity (futility)! all is vanity!” It is all “striving after the wind… there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1-2)

Solomon was talking about the efforts of humans to bring about a new utopian world. But when he turned his focus to God, Solomon could see purpose and order, an “appointed time” (the Greeks would call it a Kairos) for everything, and hope for human beings within time and space because God “has set eternity” in the hearts of humans, His image-bearers within the finite world.

In this age of spiritual hunger and the desperate quest for a new, peaceful, productive, and caring world, pulpits need to teach the transcendence of God and proclaim Christ’s Kingdom.

The need is urgent in a world where, among other tools of terror, nations now stockpile some 14,000 nuclear weapons, many at the disposal of leaders who want to impose their apocalyptic vision on all humanity.
