Functional Medicine versus Nutrition

                   Functional Nutrition versus Functional Medicine are two health concepts thrust                  in the spotlight lately. What do they really mean?
The way most of us think about going to see a nutritionist is to get recommendations       on the vitamins and minerals we may need, including some specific supplementation based on our activities. Often, we may go to a nutritionist to get a diet that may help address our symptoms. This is a symptom-based approach, and while a good method   with likely good results, it rarely gets to the heart of the problems.

I don’t think its as much Genetics as it is lifestyle & diet,                                                    exercise & environment?

If a patient has hypothyroidism, a nutritionist might recommend an anti-inflammatory diet of some variety, iodine salts, selenium, zinc or copper, and maybe the bladderwrack herb. Of course, the list of vitamins, minerals and herbs that may help hypothyroidism symptoms is in the hundreds. The problem is the lack of individual medicine in these scenarios; determining what will work for whom is the crux of the situation.

This is often why the efficacy of natural care can be dubious. These vitamins, minerals    and herbs do not cure hypothyroidism.  What they do,  only if necessary in a particular individual, is deal with certain deficiencies, many of which could be a part of the thyroid family of diseases. What will work for one, will do nothing for another.

True functional nutrition is another animal altogether. The overall concern is not the symptom but the actual functional prowess of the organs and glands of the body. In this view,  the symptoms of low energy,  hair loss,  high thyroid levels, etc., are caused by the breakdown of one or more processes of the body. From this standpoint, hypothyroidism (particularly Hashimoto’s, the most common type) is often caused by dysfunction of the liver, small intestines, adrenal glands and a build-up of toxicity in the body.

Notice, I failed to mention the thyroid itself. If you have been reading my health briefs,  you will understand why.

For those that haven’t: Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease, meaning          the dysfunction is of the immune system, which happens to live in the small intestines    and Kupffer cells of the liver. But this is beyond the scope of this health brief.

The term functional medicine is just a keyword for a style of practice that truly                     is the ultimate in natural health care. We must nd those that are truly experienced              in its practice, not just those that took a weekend course or two.                                                  In the far majority of cases, improvements with appropriate therapies should occur    within four to six weeks, often regardless of how long the person has had symptoms           or his/her family history.   Great health and vitality are achievable.
What is Functional Nutrition?
You are unique. You have your own genetic makeup, health history, and lifestyle.           Your nutrition plan should be unique to your individual body, too! Here at Root,               we use functional nutrition as a key part of treating the root cause of symptoms.

But, what is functional nutrition, exactly?

In this blog, we’ll review functional nutrition, how it’s different, and how we use                  it to help you restore wellness, find balance in the body, and prevent disease.

First, Let’s Review: What is Functional Medicine?
To understand functional nutrition, we need to first quickly review functional          medicine as a whole.

Functional medicine is an approach to treating health conditions and preventing       disease by finding the root cause of your health issues. However, instead of stamping       you with a diagnosis and only treating your symptoms,  functional medicine doctors        find out WHY you have the diagnosis. They will do an in-depth assessment to look at    ALL of your body systems (not just the one causing symptoms), and evaluate how          well your body is communicating.

Then, functional medicine doctors will recommend interventions to help restore balance by addressing factors such as nutrition, movement, stress, sleep, and relationships.

What is Functional Nutrition?
Functional nutrition is a powerful cornerstone to functional medicine. It uses food as a natural medicine to help restore balance, replete nutrient deficiencies, heal the gut, and more.

Here are a few ways in which functional nutrition is different from conventional practices.

Functional Nutrition is Personal
Personalization is the main difference between functional and conventional nutrition.
Functional nutrition focuses on the patient instead of the disease. It is a personalized method of optimizing your health based on your individual genetics, lab values, lifestyle, and more. There are no generic meal plans or handouts, because each individual person     is different!

Let’s use a case study as an example. Imagine Mrs. M comes in to see the dietitian for nutrition counseling for her Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). She suffers from bloating, indigestion, and occasional diarrhea.  In a conventional nutrition setting,  Mrs. M may receive a generic low-FODMAP meal plan, which is a standardized diet that eliminates foods that may worsen symptoms in IBS patients. However, the foods are not the direct cause of her IBS, and not all IBS patients have the same reactions to all foods.

Now, let’s imagine Mrs. M’s case from a functional nutrition perspective. While each treatment is different, a functional nutrition dietitian may order personalized lab testing, like  the MRT food sensitivity test,  to  learn  how Mrs. M’s  individual immune system is reacting to specific foods.  They may request nutrition labs  to assess  underlying vitamin or mineral deficiencies.  From there,  they would develop a personalized elimination diet based on Mrs. M’s lab results to reduce inflammation,  heal the gut,  and also (of course) reduce her symptoms!

Functional Nutrition Uses Food as Medicine

A whole food diet rich in fruits, vegetables and minimal processed food is always a great foundation. However, some patients require more targeted interventions with specific foods in order to treat the underlying cause of their health issues.

Functional nutrition honors the fact that food is not only fuel for your body, but              also an extremely useful tool to help us address the underlying cause of your condition. Let’s go back to Mrs. M’s story as an example.  After 1-2 months of eliminating her food sensitivities, a functional dietitian may want to use specific foods or also supplements to further heal her gut. The dietitian may recommend certain anti-inflammatory foods, gut-healing compounds like glutamine or probiotics, or targeted supplements to replete any nutrient deficiencies found on her lab testing.

Functional Nutrition Is Not Just About Food

While functional nutrition honors the powerful nature of wholesome food,                             it also respects that there is more to health than what you eat.

For instance, a functional medicine dietitian may ask you about your stress levels,   sleeping habits, and overall environment. Not only do these factors play a huge role           in your overall health, but they also have a bidirectional effect on your nutrition. For example, chronic stress can worsen IBS symptoms, like in Mrs. M’s case. Additionally, your sleep habits and stress levels all affect how nutrition is digested and absorbed in     the body. A functional medicine dietitian can help you establish a stress management routine to further reduce your symptoms. We may recommend various foods or also nutritional supplements to help your body cope with the added stress as well.

 Embrace Your Uniqueness

With functional nutrition, we embrace your uniqueness and use it to tailor your individualized nutrition recommendations. We can use personalized lab testing,   functional food as medicine, and lifestyle interventions to further your healing         process. We work closely with you to find a nutrition plan that is realistic for your  lifestyle, while also reducing unwanted symptoms and restoring balance in the body.

What is Integrative, Alternative, or Functional Medicine?

Written By: Oscar Cornelio-Flores, MD
Dr. Oscar Cornelio-Flores is a board certified Family Medicine physician who practices Integrative and Functional Medicine in Avance Care, Durham, NC. He graduated from     an Academic Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at Boston Medical Center, and spread   his work using group medical visits, mind-body approaches, nutrition, and exercise.         As an active sports enthusiast, he enjoys running, biking, swimming and playing soccer; and considers food, mind, and movement as the basis for healthy living. Along with his wife, a Zumba Instructor, he lives with his 3 beautiful daughters in Chapel Hill, NC.

I am sure you have heard one of these terms: Integrative Medicine, Complementary & Alternative Medicine, or even Functional Medicine. Well, at this point you are probably confused, and I don’t blame you, as many of my patients, family or friends often ask me the same question: “What kind of medicine is this?” In the following lines, I will try to summarize what it is all this about, and most importantly, provide really interesting information that could help you get to a better state of health.

Defining Health:
Before I get started defining this kind of medical approach, let’s define what health is        in the first place. You might be surprised to learn that the traditional definition of health by the World Health Organization (WHO)  comes from 1948  and defines it as “a state of complete physical,  mental,  and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease    or infirmity.”
However, one of the most simple, and yet complete definitions I found was actually on Wikipedia: “health is the level of functional and metabolic efficiency of a living organism” (1). As simple as it sounds, there is so much truth behind this, considering that health is not just the absence of disease, but most importantly how we can make sure our human systems are working efficiently from the molecular/cellular level to the major organs and its relationship with the environment.
Researchers working on a new definition of health expanded a little more: “In humans it  is the ability of individuals or communities to adapt and self-manage when facing physical, mental, psychological and social changes with the environment.”

Medical Approaches to Improve Health
Having the basic review of what health is about; let’s move to defining the different terms:

Alternative Medicine: When a “non-mainstream practice” is also used in place of conventional medicine.  This includes a wide variety of approaches,  like Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Mind-body technique (Meditation, yoga), Chiropractic, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Reiki, or Aromatherapy, among the most common ones.

Complementary Medicine: When a “non-mainstream practice” is used together with conventional medicine. Just to clarify that “mainstream” or “conventional” practice refers to Western Medicine (use of drugs, pills and/or surgery).

Integrative Medicine: Is the use of “conventional” medicine along with different evidence-based “Alternative Medicine” approaches, and considers the whole “mind-body-spirit” components of the individual. It may sound similar to Complementary Medicine, but Integrative Medicine focuses strongly on the Provider-patient healing relationship, and goes beyond just recommending Acupuncture and using medications to reduce pain.

Functional Medicine: Similar to Integrative Medicine, Functional medicine has a  “holistic” approach, but goes deeper trying to find the “root cause” of the problems, and not just using different techniques or modalities to alleviate the patients’ symptoms.

In fact, important functional medicine principles are the following:
– Every patient is a unique individual, so their conditions should be addressed in the       same way.
– Science based goes deep dive into biochemistry dysfunction and genetic predisposition     to certain conditions.
– Embraces an approach that focuses on systems and how dysregulation within these systems (immune, gastrointestinal, cardiometabolic, etc.) lead to chronic medical problems like diabetes, hypertension, obesity, even depression.
– Look towards self-regulation of the body, i.e. our “self-healing potential”. Yes, as    esoteric as this may sound to you we all have the ability to self-regulate if some metabolic dysfunction is corrected using a better diet, exercise, supplementing vitamin efficiencies, or just improving your sleep.

The following is a very good place to look for differences between integrative and functional medicine  http://blog.patronusmedical.com/functional-medicine-vs-integrative-medicine

Putting all these into Perspective:
To get the most sense and understand of all these types of holistic approaches, I invite    you to think about a time where you visited your doctor and you had a great time there.
Your doctor probably listened to you, and not only your problems, but also went a mile ahead and asked you for other aspects of your life that were likely affecting your health.
Now, you also probably have been seen by another provider who did not even look at you and focused on the computer, or instead of trying to understand your condition, was just ready to hand you a prescription and let you go.
What makes the first doctor very special is the “Integrative” approach, or in simple terms what I like to call, the “good medicine” that was used.

In summary, we are human beings with physical, emotional, spiritual and environmental factors affecting our health. In the same way, we should look at solutions  to improve our well being that consider all these vital aspects, and look forward not only  to feeling better but also to reach our maximal potential of happiness and vitality.

Conventional medicine focuses on diagnosis of disease through a recognised pattern of symptoms and addressing those symptoms with medications that on the whole are the same for each patient with that given diagnosis
Recommendations from a functional medicine practitioner recognise a client’s biochemical individuality, that each person is different and one size does not fit all. It also acknowledges the mind/body/spirit connection
In fact in 1948 the World Health Organization (WHO) identified health as “a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
In conventional medicine you see doctors based on their specialties e.g. gastroenterology, endocrinology, gynaecology
Functional Medicine has a holistic approach and views all body systems as an interconnected matrix rather than separate systems.
As the graphic above shows, specific diseases such as arthritis, diabetes and fibromyalgia may be visible above the surface but the underlying cause is the altered physiology below the surface. The underlying imbalances, dysfunctions, exposures, stress load are the real causes of a person’s health issues.
“Treat the person not the disease”
At the Functional Nutrition Clinic our goal is to optimise the health and vitality of each of our clients.
Through the use of comprehensive health and lifestyle history taking, assessment of their unique biochemical factors and the results of functional laboratory testing we identify imbalances in the main body systems and the underlying causes of their chronic health issues.
It’s a patient centered approach.
Hippocrates said, “It is far more important to know what person the disease
has than what disease the person has”

This is the focus of functional medicine
FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE
CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE
Health Oriented
Disease Oriented
Patient Centred
Doctor Centre
Biochemical Individuality
Everyone treated the same way
Holistic
Specialised
Looks at underlying, root cause of disease
Diagnosis based on symptoms
The conventional model works well for acute health problems and believe me if I were to be in an accident, break my leg or suffer a heart attack I can think of no better place to be than in the A & E department of an NHS hospital
But with the rise in chronic health conditions – over 70% of the NHS budget goes on looking after those with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, obesity and heart disease – this type of model is clearly less successful.
If you have a stone in your shoe –wouldn’t it make sense to take off your shoe and remove the rock rather than take a painkiller to take away the pain it’s causing?
Surely better to find the root cause of your inflammation that is causing high cholesterol rather than just take a statin to control the cholesterol?

A great example of addressing the root cause of a chronic health issue:

I am Andrea Nakayama, a Functional Medicine Nutritionist, Educator and Speaker pioneering the movement to transform healthcare into a system that WORKS. I know    that a functional nutrition approach is the answer to our healthcare crisis, both for individuals and for society at large.

I created Functional Nutrition Lab to teach practitioners of every scope the functional tools, systems, and mindset shifts that have been instrumental in my own success as a clinician.

Dr. Van D. Merkle, 1982 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic, is a diplomate        of the American Clinical Board of Nutrition and the American Board of Chiropractic Internists. He has practiced in the Dayton, Ohio area for more than 25 years, and has hosted the call-in radio talk show “Back to Health, Your Guide to Better Living” since  1995. Dr. Merkle is the president of Science-Based Nutrition .                                               You may be asking yourself, “As a chiropractor, what could Dr. Merkle possibly do for someone with metastatic ductal cell carcinoma?” The answer lies in a series of objective and documented blood test results he uses every day in my practice to prescribe dietary and supplement regimens for patients in their journey toward better health.

A WORD I REFUSED TO USE- REMISSION

Remission is a word I refuse using when sharing my experience with breast cancer.               I declare full healing and say I’m cured even though society is conditioned to believe     there is no cure.
We are always running for the cures, especially for breast cancer. We see that pink    ribbon logo and believe, “There is no cure.” Running for the Cure is a powerful slogan     and feels like we are on a hamster wheel.
I am cured 8 years now. I believe saying it makes an impact.
People who are healed from cancer can choose to replace the word remission and              the phrase No Evidence of Disease ( NED) with the word cured.
Remission is a fear-appealing word and does not allow us to feel something great!            We can thank God for the blessing of healing throughout our life.

Many people, mostly women diagnosed with cancer, reach out to me because of                 my successful cancer journey. I get a SUPER HIGH VOLUME of messages from my websites and via Facebook messenger. I appreciate all your letters of congratulations,     and most of them are letters inquiring the details of how I beat stage 4 breast cancer without chemotherapy. They share what they are going through with me;                         heart and soul, and I feel privileged that you trust me.
If someone wants to discuss my cancer journey, I will do so via Skype or FB video.           Eye contact and body language are necessary to build “mutual” trust and respect.
Since I rarely am afforded the time to reply to messages in writing, I try to answer  multitude of frequently asked questions whenever I do video LIVES on Facebook.                (I have a video album of my FB LIVES if you want to catch one you missed.)

CANCER TREATMENT IN MY LIFE
I have ” battled” breast cancer twice,  stage 3 and stage 4.  My diagnosis was HER 2 Negative, Estrogen, and Progesterone Positive. Every choice of treatment I made was tough for me to face because it’s not easy deciding how to save your life. July 19, 2006,        I was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer and chose the bilateral Mastectomy recommendation from University of WA medical team. There were complications with    the surgery of staph infection, so I was too sick to do chemo or radiation. I did not even   do hormone blockers.  However, I integrated alternative therapies afterward at a clinic      in AZ   ( It’s no longer there), and by May 2008, I was deemed cancer-free!

The following year October 2009, I developed a chronic cough and was suffering from chest pain. I was diagnosed with costochondritis and asthma. The prescribed anti-inflammatory treatments and asthma therapies were ineffective, and by July 2010, a biopsy to my sternum confirmed I was, in fact, dealing with a recurrence of metastatic disease. The breast cancer had spread quickly to my bones and all lobes of my lungs.            I was in trouble! I went to a UCLA oncologist, so of course, all they could prescribe was  the usual, radiation to my sternum, chemo and hormone blockers. I was only able to do   22 radiation treatments out of the 40 they had planned for me.                                              We ceased treatment because my coughing prevented me from laying on my back and holding still on the table for radiation.

September 2011, my UCLA oncologist said I was too sick to do chemo because I           had a staph infection. UCLA gave me 3-12 months to live. That was frightening to hear. However, I’m not a quitter.

Today, 8 years later, I am healthy and cancer-free thanks to my decision to go to      CMN hospital for alternative cancer treatment. Getting there was not easy and It took a few months to raise money with my friends to get there. We did it, though and Crossing     that border made easy by staying in Yuma,  Arizona the first night ~ allowing CMN  to Uber us there by Hospital Van on Monday Morning  🙂

                                                                                            The Francine Brown Blog 🙂

CMN hospital is in Mexico, so that was another tough decision because I felt dependent   on foreigners to save my life and relieve me of that 3-12 month death sentence.                       I prayed each day in their chapel for healing, I prayed for other patients in the hospital, trying to get well. I made the choice of going to CMN without a single patient testimonial of survival,  but I liked the hospital,  the doctors,  the history,  and I trusted my intuition. Once I chose, I did not complicate things by clicking away at my keyboard searching for survivors to talk to about what they did to get well.

Times have changed a lot since then.                                                                                           Hospitals and clinics are getting out their video cameras for patient video testimonials       to post on their websites. Many of the patients are approached before they even finish cancer treatment at the hospital or clinic.

I’ve always thought this was exploitive and unethical.
The marketing strategy works because it gives hope even though people are not getting  the entire story of each patient’s cancer journey.
Many women who are healed from cancer struggle with fear of it returning again.          They are compelled to research on the newest, latest diets, supplements and cannot relax. Having cancer traumatized them,  they want to be safe and make sure it does not come back. Sadly many have lost the joy of many things in life; cancer changed them. They are not sure what to eat, drink, or allow them to touch their skin. Does it have chemicals, pesticides, etc.? Almost all conversations revolve around cancer. I know relationships  have been affected by it. Lives get altered and are never the same again.                          There is a stigma attached to cancer.

SELF-COMPASSION
Some women share with me that they are doing 5-6 coffee enemas a day and are too afraid to stop; this is their new norm.  I am sad when I hear a woman say they have been doing it for a couple years.  I understand the method and how it detoxes the liver,  but an excess of anything is not good. Juicing falls in that category too for many. Many are afraid just to eat a regular meal a couple days a week.
My focus as a life coach for women is helping them heal emotionally. I provide my clients with tools and activities to develop self-awareness and recognizing old beliefs that could  be sabotaging their own happiness. Many are learning the importance of self-compassion.

WE ARE UNIQUE
We are not clones and are so unique from one another. You could sit in a crowded place  all day long, every single day and would agree with me on that. No two people walking by would look like any other. I grew up in a big family and am a twin.  Even she learned how different we were from each other. We both got cancer and healed completely.  However, we healed differently. I had complications with surgery of infection every single time.    She did not. We cannot compare our health & possible outcomes of any cancer treatment with others who seemingly have the same cancer diagnosis.
Emotional healing from past traumas is vital in overcoming cancer regardless of your cancer treatment choice for your body. Our soul is here for a purpose -and getting sick       is a wake-up call or a call to action to get busy healing emotionally and to reduce stress. Most women don’t realize how extraordinary they are And just need to learn how to see themselves the way God sees them.  I like to show women precisely,  and it is a blessing  for me to watch them transform so beautifully.

DELAY
Many women delay because they are overwhelmed by so many clinic choices, and all the testimonials they find themselves listening to you. Some women tell me they are waiting for a sign from God, and I’m not talking about just a few weeks. If they had a child with cancer, they need to ask themselves how they would handle decisions for their treatment.
Delaying treatment is a risk.
There is a reasonable time needed to get 2nd and 3rd opinions on treatment. Many have been delaying by self-treating for months or longer. Often the delay is for social events, weddings, graduations, summer vacation, pre-planned trips, birthdays, etc. It feels good  to avoid treatment and go on with life as usual, not making cancer the #1 priority.
I tried delaying because I was just scared of the unknown. It took my best friend Heather Rayburn who was always straight with me. We raised the money to also get me to CMN Hospital, and then I tried stalling with reasons such as my birthday and Valentines Day. She snapped me out of my denial stage. She said, “We raised money for you to get cancer treatment and so help me God we will give it to someone else who wants to fight for their life if you are not going now! My delay excuses were ridiculous.

Denial is one of the cancer grief stages we go through.
Many blame themselves and want to fix what they think they did to cause the cancer by drastically changing their diet and avoiding treatment. The delay puts you at a higher risk for metastasis. Delaying impacts success when you finally do decide to get to a doctor for treatment. It’s unfair to put the blame on the treating doctor if your body does not respond favorably to treatment.

SUPPORT GROUPS-PSEUDO DOCTORS
I exited many women’s cancer FB groups. I did not like reading comments where                 a survivor shared her success story, and then someone responded maliciously. They          had   the opposite response to treatment and are not coping well with fear and anger;           I understand it completely. People want to survive, and the emotional roller coaster is fierce. I have compassion for each and every one of you who are trying to heal. I have a unique life coaching program you can get information about that teaches women how       to cope better and feel peace about what they are facing.  You are not alone.                             How do you know a prayer is being answered. When obstacles are obvious, think                 of it as God guiding you and putting a wall up, so you go where you are supposed to.             Kind of like a maze. We hit these walls to turn us to where we need to be.

Life Energy Entanglement

When I think of Life Entanglement: I think of the gnarled images of the juniper trees           in Sedona, Arizona and especially near the healing vortex. These trees are twisted and wound in patterns uncommon to the species and are proof of Sedona’s vortex energy.    The stronger the energy, the more twisted the branches of the juniper trees.  And the            energy of the vortexes causes the branches to grow in an axel twist — rather than in      straight lines.

Did you know that disturbing energy can be bad for your health? Emotions such                    as anger, frustration, anxiety and even jealousy can manifest in the physical body             and end up as ulcers, allergies, migraines and even back pain, if not more.
This is one of the reasons that simple practices such as yoga, tai-chi and even                    chi-gong can be so restorative for the mind, body and spirit.
Everything is energy, and the truth of the matter is that energy cannot be created               or destroyed. It can only be transformed.  If you believe in this theory,  you begin                to see that hurtful emotions can often transform into illness and disease.
Physics tells us that if you match the frequency of the reality you want that you            cannot help but get that reality.
If this statement is true, then if you choose to focus on healing, then healing will come.
Well-being encompasses all of your parts, not just your physical body.                               When your emotions are in turmoil and you are continually anxious and stressed,            you aren’t really doing yourself any favors when it comes to healing.
A wonderful way to heal the body and spirit is through physical practices such as yoga,     tai chi and chi-gong.
– Yoga
The ancient practice of yoga has been around for more than 5.000 years.                          Most Westernized yoga classes focus on physical poses, which are called asanas.
Many cultures practiced some kind of yoga, dating back as far as the mid-third  millennium BC.
Yoga is not only beneficial for strengthening the physical body, but it also helps                one heal the mind and spirit through its meditative focus.
Yoga has many benefits, including helping to decrease depression and lower your            anxiety, and it can even help with sleep disorders and help you better manage pain.
Yoga is described as a general term that represents the physical, mental and spiritual disciplines that originated in ancient India. Yoga is actually one of six schools of the   Hindu philosophy.
Most forms of yoga include some form of breathing technique and even some kind of meditative technique. While some forms of yoga focus purely on relaxation, others focus on core strength, muscle toning, balance and flexibility.
– Tai Chi
Tai chi, which is an ancient Chinese tradition, is practiced as a very graceful form of exercise. It involves a slow, focused series of movements that are also accompanied by deep breathing.
Tai chi has also been called tai chi chuan, and it is a non competitive very traditional form of exercise and movement. Poses are performed at one’s own pace. with each pose flowing gracefully into the next.
There are many different styles of tai chi, each with its own subtle variety.
Research has shown that tai chi may have some health benefits in addition to its mental benefits, as some studies indicate favorable effects on balance control, flexibility and even cardiovascular fitness.
Studies also show that tai chi can help reduce the risk of falls in elderly patients and those who are recovering from heart failure, stroke, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s.
Tai chi may also be quite beneficial for stress relief, in addition to mental health, with one study suggesting that one hour to one year of regular practice can increase psychological well-being while reducing stress, depression and anxiety.
Tai chi can also help in enhancing the mood, so it is beneficial to both the body and the spirit.
– Chi-Gong
The ancient practice of chi-gong is based on the idea that chi is energy that flows through the body.
The energy pathways can get blocked at any point in the body, creating illness and disease.
When you engage in a practice such as chi-gong, the theory is that you free up these energetic pathways, increasing the flow of chi, which can help you improve your health and your spirit.
Chi-gong involves different movements that can be done in different orders. You may choose to use chi-gong to improve posture, coordination, endurance or even flexibility.
The practice also helps one maintain good health and improve the quality of life. According to the theory of yin and yang, a Chinese based principle, these types of gentle movements can help balance the body’s yin and yang forces.
Everything is energy
Any way you put it, these kinds of gentle exercises can help you in many ways because they are not only beneficial for restoring physical health, they are also beneficial in restoring and maintaining good mental health.
When it comes to simple ways to heal the body and spirit, these ancient practices can give you a lot of bang for your buck. Source:

A Blocked Heart Chakra May Cause Breast Cancer!!!

Many believe that there is a torn heart chakra in every patient that has breast cancer. Situations that occur in everyday life such as divorce, death, betrayal, abuse and neglect can wound the heart chakra and lead to disease. The heart chakra is all about emotional empowerment.  It helps to teach forgiveness, trust, compassion and unconditional love. Emotions like fear,  hope,  anger,  jealousy and anger all center around the heart chakra which is directly related to the breast area of the body. These emotions and issues affect the health of a woman’s breasts. Over time, this damage to the heart chakra leads to disease and illness.
To help prevent breast cancer due to a damaged heart chakra, the golden flower chakra meditation is also recommended. The golden flower chakra meditation will open the heart chakra, and allow you to experience feeling whole again and bring an over all sense of well being to you.  This simple method can be used anytime and anywhere with practice. It will also help to heal past traumas,  but may bring emotional release with it.  Be prepared for this release at first and allow it to happen.

Chakras are “Hot Spots” of energy where matter and consciousness meet. In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, this term refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. Energy passes through the chakras to your etheric energy field or aura and onto the outside world, and from the outside world. . . back through your auric layers to and through your chakras to your body.

A healthy diet and regular exercise are needed to maintain chakra balance and keep  energy flowing. But there can be times where a healthy lifestyle just isn’t enough.            Part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHAxGMUIFh4                                                 Part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ngezu-lj5eQ

The Healing Power A Fun Loving Family!                                                                                 By Carrie Crary 🙂

When coming from a place of love there is endless possibilities.
⠀⠀
Love breads hope, security, strength and wellness, whereas fear breads worry, self-doubt and loss. When negative thoughts appear, be mindful and replace with thoughts of love.
⠀⠀
Love breads hope, security, strength and wellness, whereas the fear of living breeds   worry, self-doubt and loss. When negative thoughts appear, be mindful and replace      those thoughts of love. My mom took a loan on her truck to help fund my trip.                   She has been amazing.

May 2013- This month was the icing on the cake of a very rough 2 years in my life.                 The lump in my left breast I had felt for four  years prior to that day and assumed to              be an “inflamed lymph node”, was finally concerning enough for a biopsy. At age 37,             I had lost 4 family members  and gone through a very difficult divorce  after 17 years           of marriage. I was still working, studying for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and  trying to sell the house that I was still living in after my divorce.

The timing could not   have been more difficult, yet I realize now this is when Cancer  make an entrance. Most people who have cancer can tell you of tragedy or trauma in        the near past. As I now know,  Cancer and many other dis ease processes  start with           dis ease,  and emotional  and spiritual healing is what must be addressed to combat  cancer.  Many of us do not realize we are distressed emotionally, because we spend            all our time trying to “keep it together”.

June 2013- After a couple of months of nonstop physician visits I was scheduled for a lumpectomy. Shortly after surgery I was expected to start radiation and chemotherapy.  My daughter who just graduated had to stay home from college to help care for me in    case the chemo made me too sick to be alone.

Cancer in young women generally means a very aggressive and ugly disease. Much to everyone’s surprise, testing on the tumor graded it as very slow growing and a very low likelihood to reoccur. So, chemo was not recommended!!!  I can not tell you the relief     that was to me after seeing what chemo did to people as a nurse.

I completed radiation in October of 2013 and proceeded to put that part of my life behind me as quickly as possible. I rarely discussed those terrifying months and did not accept it as my reality.

September 2018- I had gotten through the toughest times and had moved to the Phoenix area in hopes of a new start. In the 5 years since my cancer and divorce I remained alone and very lonely.  I was constantly chasing a new purpose,  only to have it fade or not pan out. I started my master’s degree, and then stopped. I got my California state RN license   in hopes that another move would be a break through for forward movement in my life.

I even completed a course to teach English as a second language hoping for opportunity   to increase my travel time and income. Then one day at work I asked for an MRI. I work  in a nuclear medicine department  and my coworkers would do them from time to time when they needed to create  a new protocol on the machine.  At this time. . . . I had been experiencing    some bloating, so they scanned my abdomen, which was clear. Then they decided to scan my lungs and found a nodule.

 I decided to go on a pre-planned vacation to Peru the following  week and hiked Machu Picchu.  I was sure that my lungs were just fine since  I had no symptoms. Upon returning my oncologist ordered a PET scan. The day of the scan has become the hardest day of my life. . . thus far. The scan came back showing metastasis throughout my left lung,  sternum, and right neck lymph nodes. A biopsy 2 weeks later confirmed the cancer was back and had mutated to a much more aggressive form of   breast cancer (triple positive).

I spent the next few days getting my affairs in order; my life insurance, and living will, disability retirement, and FMLA. At age 42 I was navigating a death sentence alone and looking at a very short life. It was just me……..and then He was there. God was with me and as I cried and prayed in the bath tub one night, He took this burden from me in an instant.

God began to reveal His plan to me day by day. He told me it was His plan and showed    me the way.  He was snatching me from the dry desert I was walking in, through Cancer. Everywhere I went  He was talking to me. I was fasting, praying, crying out loud to Him  on a regular basis. He loves to hear us. Through events, people, and His word He led me  to research  alternative cancer treatments.  I had random encounters  with people daily that pointed me to the success of these therapies and lifestyle changes.

Even my physician the Mayo Clinic began pointing me to supplements and alternative  care to compliment the medications he would start me on. Once again, to my unbelief,     he was not asking me to do Chemo…..yet.

November 2018- My hours of research led me to start a home routine that included           a  plant based alkaline diet and multiple natural supplements.  Also 0ne day,  a massage therapist and friend of mine contacted me and said a man she had worked on was asking to take me to dinner. I agreed and at dinner we were both surprised by the gift of 40k he offered to help fund seeing an alternative care physician since insurance did not cover it. As I continued to research God led me to Hope 4 Cancer and this gift would fund my trip to Mexico to get treatment there.

I knew this is where He wanted me to go and upon arrival in November I was 100% sure God was in that clinic. I was surrounded by His love there–as I received so many natural life saving therapies. I spent the month of November there and could feel God working in amazing ways with all the patients and staff. I owe my life to Dr. Antonio Jimenez, M.D., N.D., C.N.C. For over 30 years, Dr. Antonio Jimenez has traveled the world learning and researching new approaches to cancer treatment,  with the dream in mind of opening an alternative clinic capable  of  providing any method  to give patients their best chance of recovery.

December 2018- After returning home from Hope 4 Cancer and receiving 4 treatments      at the Mayo clinic  in the previous 3 months,  I had my first repeat PET Scan to check for progress. My daughter was in town to spend December with me all the way from Sweden knowing we may have limited time together.  On December 14, 2018  I had the scan and    we were together to get the results. After only 3 months  and a month  at Hope 4 Cancer    my scan was completely clean!!! NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE IN MY BODY!

I won’t lie, I could not digest that first scan and the miracle that God gave me, but every repeat clean scan since has given me more and more confidence. I have become involved with advocating and teaching others in any capacity I can about what I have learned and what God did for me. Hope 4 Cancer is a one of a kind clinic and the expertise of the providers there is remarkable. The love and emotional/spiritual healing they provide  along with the physical healing is so huge and necessary.

August 2019- I remain No Evidence of Disease (NED) and continue to follow my new       life purpose given to me by God.  I just returned from filming a new doc u series with    Hope 4 Cancer called ‘Eight Days’  with award winning producer  Charles Mattocks      (Bob Marley’s nephew). The show follows “five patients fighting cancer” and the hard decisions and life saving therapies that have made us successful.

The show will air in January 2020 and will change how we see this disease. God took      this traumatic event and showed me purpose. I do not have question how GOD wants       to use me now, I only submit to His path. I never turn down a call, text, or email from someone that is fighting. My first question is always “have you asked God to show you     the path to healing?” Our healing is as different as our cancers are. He is the ultimate physician and He knows how to heal you!!!

Love GOD 🙂

Pro & Cons of the Ketogenic Diet

Since many aboriginal tribes (And hell, the Eskimo people in particular) thrived & lived   to see triple digit lifespans whilst subsisting almost entirely upon Ketogenic Diets, I would  say it stands to reason it isn’t harmful.  I’m not claiming anything magical about Keto. I’m saying specifically,  my ancestors subsisted from womb-to-tomb on a very similar diet and they survived to see very very old age.  You’re welcome to attribute that specifically to keto if you’d like but I’d combine it with the genetics that were passed down to create a heartier healthier human.   Ketogenic and Cancer  Warning Advise!

Why does it stand to reason that it would be harmful? Just because it’s different?

Is the ketogenic diet healthy or unhealthy?
My answer: Both.
There are two ways to do keto:
The “right” way:  Eating high-quality meats, veggies, & fats.
The “dirty” way:  Eating “keto” foods that are high in “bad” fats.
Both ways will get you into ketosis, but the “dirty” way will have unhealthy effects on    your body in the long term. The true answer is that the keto diet can be the healthiest    way a human can eat or it can send you to an early grave — it all depends on the way        that you apply the diet to reach the metabolic state.

Humans haven’t eaten the crazy amounts of carbs we eat now until very recently in our existence. Agriculture is a fairly new thing in the history of man. No way were we eating tons of carbs by just gathering, it would have been s0 much more efficient to kill a large animal,  eat it’s meat and organs  (which supply tons of nutrients that veggies and fruits also do,   we don’t get now because most people don’t eat organs) dry out the remaining meat and eat it over a long period of time.

Humans weren’t growing wheat  and rice  and storing them for the winter at the dawn         of humanity. I would say it stands to reason that humans are more capable of sustaining on   a large meat and offal diet than one consisting of large amounts of carbs.
“Why does it stand to reason that it would be harmful”

I’m not saying IT’S HARMFUL or even I THINK IT’S HARMFUL, but just that, many things are totally fine when done in controlled ways or done for limited periods of time, but are harmful when extended or taken to the extreme.

For example, fasting is healthy, but not eating for a very long period of time can cause starvation and death.

Another example, consuming small amounts of nutmeg can be good or fine for you,        but consume too much and it can literally kill you.

I’m not saying this means that a little ketosis is good for you and a lot is bad for you,       just that it seems that it could potentially be the case given how many other examples       of such situations there are,  so I thought it best to ask and make sure!  It’s my body      after all!

Keto is easy on the liver purely due to the negative stimulus of a huge reduction in fructose. You could probably find a way to still be hard on your liver eating bad and contaminated food while on keto, but it would still be better than a high sugar diet.     Many liver specialist encouraged this diet for weight loss to help with fatty liver 🙂

Carbohydrate intake (as would be expected in the Standard American Diet) is       associated with liver fibrosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.  Therefore,       Removing carbohydrates from the diet – and, therefore, following a Very-Low-Carbohydrate-High-FAT (VLCHF) – is associated with reversal of pathologies.
So I suggest that following a ketogenic diet is absolutely one of the best things                  you can do for your liver.

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is also particularly important in fueling brain function.

However, if little carbohydrate remains in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. An elevated level of ketone bodies in the blood, a state known as ketosis, leads to a reduction in the frequency of epileptic seizures. Around half of children and young people with epilepsy who have tried some form of this diet saw the number of seizures drop by at least half, and the effect persists even after discontinuing the diet.

Some evidence indicates that adults with epilepsy may benefit from the diet, and that         a less strict regimen, such as a modified Atkins diet, is similarly effective. Potential side effects may include constipation, high cholesterol, growth slowing, acidosis, and kidney stones.

Ketosis happens when your body resorts to fat for energy after your stored carbohydrates have been burned out.  It often occurs when people fast and exercise. But most commonly, ketosis occurs in people who eat low-carb, high-protein diets, which is called the ketogenic diets. There’s some evidence ketosis can tax your kidneys, leading to kidney stones and low blood pressure. In diabetics, a variant of ketosis can be fatal. However, a small but growing group of health professionals say ketosis is not the poison  you’ve been lead to think it was, and it may be better for you than high-carbohydrate eating. Your specific dietary habits are best advised by your healthcare provider or nutritionist.

Ketosis Facts
Ketosis happens when you get a buildup of a substance known as ketones, or ketone bodies in your blood. They are released when your body’s carbohydrate stores run out   and you have to break down fat stores for energy. Dieters try deliberately cause ketosis because it makes you feel less hungry.  However,  ketosis also makes you feel tired and sluggish, because as “Medical News Today” reports, ketones aren’t the most efficient source of energy, especially for your brain. Ketosis can also harm your kidneys.

Kidney Failure
Annually, more than 100,000 people are diagnosed with kidney failure in the United States,  reports the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases,        or NIDDK. The condition is marked by the inability of your kidneys to do their job of eliminating wastes.  One treatment for kidney failure is dialysis, a draining & lengthy artificial blood cleansing process.  Another option is a kidney transplant. The NIDDK  states that the cost of care for patients with kidney failure reached close to $32 billion       in 2005. The federal government subsidizes some kidney-related healthcare.

Ketosis Effects on the Kidneys
Very high levels of ketones make your blood more acidic and overburden your kidneys. “Medical News Today” reports one of the side effects of a ketogenic diet is the formation   of kidney stones.  In processing higher amounts of protein,  your kidneys work hard and  are forced  to excrete more sodium,  calcium and potassium,  as well as filter more of the byproducts of protein metabolism. This extra fluid & electrolyte loss can cause low blood pressure, another function mediated by your kidneys. Ketosis in the presence of diabetes can lead to ketoacidosis and coma, and can be life threatening.

Ketosis Controversy
A National Institutes of Health researcher, Richard Veech, argues that what’s being reported about ketosis is all wrong. He told the “New York Times” in 2002 that ketosis is   a normal metabolic state, and arguably the “natural state of man.” He and others say that the media and some medical authorities have confused the public about ketosis, partially out of the real threat it poses to diabetics. However, for the rest of us, says Veech, ketosis  is simply an evolution-driven response to the need to survive on stored fat. Veech goes a step further saying ketones are a more preferred fuel source than carbohydrates.

The Times reported in that article that previous research showed that the heart and brain run 25 percent more efficiently on ketones than blood sugar.  In 2004,  a group of Kuwait University researchers reported in the journal  “Experimental & Clinical Cardiology”  that they found no adverse effects of using a ketogenic diet in a sample of obese people over 6 months (Ref 6). If you want to start a high-protein or otherwise ketogenic eating regimen, it’s best to consult your healthcare provider before doing so, and also seek regular care to ensure adequate nutrition.   Which Type Keto is right for you By Dr. Josh Axe!!!

Clearing Up Kidney Confusion: Part Deux
It’s funny how our mental state really affects how we write and what we are interested in. When I wrote the introduction to this piece I was just getting settled into our new place in Santa Fe, NM and was looking at over a month at home to work and write. Then a number of wacky events happened, and I’ve been home about 7 days out of the last month and I’ve only made it about 70 pages into Kon-Tiki.  Ouch.  Now I’m home for 8 days and will then be gone for a project that will take me completely off the grid for nearly 3 weeks.

No phone, email…nada. When I sat down to do this kidney piece it was with a mindset.      I had a ton of time and could really sink my teeth into it.  Now I’m time crunched and anxious that I will get it done at all!  Up front here I’d like to thank Mat  “The Kraken” Lalonde with his help on some literature for this piece. Any inaccuracies however are       my own tomfoolery. If I wanted to cut to the chase I could boil this whole thing down         to the following:

1-Dietary protein DOES NOT CAUSE KIDNEY DAMAGE.                                                            2-Chronically elevated BLOOD GLUCOSE levels DO cause kidney damage.                              3-Dietary fructose REALLY causes kidney damage.                                                                       4-Many kidney issues have either a hyper-insulinemic characteristic, an autoimmune characteristic, and or a combination of autoimmunity or hyperinsulinism. A standard, low-ish carb paleo diet can fix most of these issues.                                                                        5-For serious kidney damage a low-protein, ketogenic diet can be remarkably therapeutic. 6-If you get kidney stones that are from oxalates, reduce your green veggie intake (spinach for example) and have other types of veggies.                                                                                  7-If you get kidney stones that are from urate salts, you are likely NOT following a low-ish carb paleo diet, you likely have insulin resistance and your liver is not processing uric acid. Liver damage caused by ketosis?
When the liver is hot, so are your emotions. When the liver is unstressed and cool,                 you are calm and relaxed. Altered or hot emotions, is the liver’s attempt to alert you         that it needs help. Think of your liver as an oven. If it is cool, your emotions are even          and regular. The hotter the liver gets, the more intense your emotions become. https://www.wellnesscenter.net/the-liver-kidneys-and-gallbladder/

The stressors we all face in our daily lives can often be ignored and pushed past,                but have you ever wondered how stress affects your body? Well, it is a well known           fact that staying tense and stressed about things can take a toll on your heart, and digestion and even your immunity.

In this post Dr. Bhavesh Vora, consultant nephrologist and transplant physician,         Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai, tells you how stress can affect your kidneys.

How does stress affect your kidney function?
Increases your blood pressure: Stress can give rise to hypertension, and since high      blood pressure is one of the leading causes of kidney disease (apart from diabetes),      stress can lead to an increase in blood pressure and have an adverse effect on your     kidney function.
Can cause your blood sugar levels to plummet: Stress can worsen your diabetes and      often is the reason for uncontrolled blood sugar.
Increases the number of cigarettes you smoke: A common phenomenon in people        these days is to smoke to relieve stress. This is again a very bad habit as smoking is        very harmful to your kidneys as it causes a reduction in the blood circulation in the    organ, which in turn can lead to kidney disease. You may also like to read about the          25 things that happen in your body when you smoke.

Can sudden high levels of stress have an effect on your kidneys?
Not really, but yes it can compound over time and lead to kidney disease.                            For instance, if you drink less water or smoke too much due to stress,                                 then in the long run it can lead to kidney disease.
Can kidney damage due to stress related ailments be reversed with a healthy lifestyle?
Yes. In fact, it is possible at any stage — even when the kidney damage is severe. For instance, if a person is going to need dialysis in the next five years, with the right lifestyle modifications he 0r she will most likely need it only after about 10 to-15 years or may not require it at all in his life time → lifetime. You may like to read about the natural ways to keep your kidneys healthy.
That being said, while the structural damage that is present cannot be reversed, the functional damage can be. Therefore, by making essential changes in your lifestyle such    as drinking enough water and staying hydrated, reducing stress levels, controlling your blood sugar and blood pressure levels, eating healthy, quitting smoking and drinking & exercising regularly, you will be able to see a significant change in your kidney function.

Does Ketosis Cause Kidney Damage?
Does a diet that is mildly ketotic cause Kidney or Liver Damage.
It has not been associated with kidney damage or disease in individuals who have normally functioning kidneys. Concerns regarding undue stress on the kidneys are       often aimed at very low carbohydrate, very high protein ketogenic diets.

Few studies have shown any actual damage, however.
Dietary ketosis is among the most maligned and misunderstood concepts in nutrition medicine. Particularly among researchers who don’t actually treat patients, ketosis (is     the presence of ketone bodies in the urine) is often confused with ketoacidosis, which         is a life-threatening build-up of ketone bodies due to muscle wasting and dehydration       as in states of shock or uncontrolled Type 1 diabetes.
In the Type 1 diabetic, the absence of insulin leads to a toxic build-up of blood glucose   and an extreme break-down of fat and also muscle tissue.  This condition doesn’t occur      in individuals who have a small amount of insulin,  whether from natural production or artificially administered. Whereas patients in ketoacidosis are also closely monitored in Intensive Care Units,  individuals in ketosis are amongst the healthy,  active population. Dietary ketosis is a natural adjustment to the body’s reduced intake of carbohydrates as the body shifts its primary source of energy from carbohydrates to stored fat.

The presence of insulin keeps ketone production in check…. so that a mild, beneficial   ketosis is achieved. Blood glucose levels are stabilized within a normal range and there      is no break-down of healthy muscle tissue.  It would also be difficult to make a credible argument against ketosis, which has been used successfully among both healthy people seeking improved fitness and nutritionally fragile children with epilepsy, diabetes, and cancer.

There has been speculation that ketosis can put undue stress on the kidneys (McArdle, WD, Essentials of exercise physiology. Philadelphia, PA Lea & Febiger, 1994) though few clinical studies have shown any damage.  In perhaps the highest protein intake studied,   an adult male bodybuilder  consumed an average of 2,263 calories,  71% from protein or 2.27 grams per pound for 10 weeks. His weight dropped from 168 lbs. to 139 lbs. and his body fat from 16% to 4.4%.  Blood analysis found an increase  in a reliable test of kidney function called  “blood urea nitrogen” or  BUN from 16 to 53 (normal is 6 to 25) without evidence of kidney damage. We would not advocate such high protein intake for such an extended period, however, it’s also interesting to note how much people have pushed the limits without suffering consequences. Everyone is in some degree of ketosis all day.

The most sensitive tests of ketosis (“NMR” and “blood ketone level”) show that we all have ketones under any condition. For instance, anyone off the street (not dieting or exercising, having just eaten) may have a ketosis reading of 0.003 to 0.01;  most of us are up to about 50 after not eating overnight;  after completing a marathon,  runners have readings of over 100;  in the first week of a diet (whether or not it’s “ketogenic”),  the readings are around 200-300. There is no definition for the precise level that constitutes “ketosis.” Most weight control and ketogenic epilepsy or cancer treatment programs define ketosis as visible color on a urine dipstick.
The problem is, we may have enough ketones in our urine to turn the stick a different  color at 6:00 but not at 6:15.  It is a very crude,  and very transient,  measurement. Some    of the benefits  many people experience  while in a state of dietary ketosis for intentional weight loss may include rapid weight loss, decreased hunger & cravings, improved mood, increased energy and, as long as protein intake is adequate, protection of lean mass.

The closest to damage from a low carb diet comes from the odd nutcase who tries to combine keto with no liquid,  which does put stress on the kidney (just like any other      diet which does not include liquid) but because keto is slightly diuretic, you’ll see the effects a little quicker.

I don’t know where to start.

Okay, I’ll start with the assumption that keto is high protein. No, it’s not, it’s moderate protein compared with standard BB diets. The dangers of protein to the kidneys would apply far more to a 40/40/20 diet  than to a keto one.  If they applied.  But they don’t. People with damaged kidneys can not tolerate high levels of protein. So some “experts” have extrapolated this to mean that high levels of protein can damage healthy kidneys. Except there has not been one single case of this in the history of recorded medicine.

Most keto diets do not recommend 14 days or less, that’s the classic way to do it wrong. Most low carb diets recommend making it a lifestyle.

And again, where is the evidence that ketones do any damage to liver or kidneys or any other organ?  Not a single case.  The closest to damage from a low carb diet comes from the odd nutcase who tries to combine keto with no liquid,  which does put stress on the kidney (just like any other diet which does not include liquid)  because keto is slightly diuretic, you’ll see the effects a little quicker.
When protein is deflected in this manner, it releases nitrogen into the blood stream, placing a burden on the kidneys as they try to excrete excessive urinary water due to sodium loss.  When fat is deflected,  the breakup releases fatty acids, or ketones, into        the bloodstream, further burdening the kidneys. If ketosis continues for long periods        of time,  serious damage to the liver  and kidneys can occur,  which is why most low-carbohydrate, or ketogenic diets recommend only short-term use, typically 14 days.

So I’m about to fire up a keto regiment (again, I always fall off the wagon after about            2 months). Just searching around as it seems the other two times I started it I tend to   have diarrhea a lot. Anyway, came across this. Any truth to this?

Keto makes me thirsty and will often drink constantly as long as my glass of water is full.
There was a girl who did a series of nutcase diets, finishing with low carb and zero liquid, and she died. She is widely quoted as an example of the danger of keto diets, not as an example of Eating Disorder.

Normal people drink as normal on keto, and have no problems. If your dumb enough        to do something stupid like not drink water…nature has no choice but to end your life…..dumb…. DRINK WATER!!

Does a ketogenic diet damage or overstress your liver?

Matt Saks, studied at New York University School of Medicine
Answered Jun 8, 2018
I have not seen any evidence that supports this notion.
If your liver is healthy, it should have no issues meeting the (minimal) metabolic demands placed on the body by a ketogenic diet. Just remember that when you are on a highly carb-restricted diet,  s0 you need to be getting the majority of your daily calories from fat,  not protein. Replacing too many of the calories from carbohydrates with calories from protein may have an adverse effect on the kidney over time. A proper diet includes no more than 30-35% of daily calories from protein.
On the flip side, a diet high in carbohydrates (particularly fructose) is very stressful on the liver over time.  The reason for this is due to the chronic conversion of blood sugar into fat that surrounds the liver. Over time this can lead to liver inflammation in a condition called non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)—also known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

I just had a blood test done after being strictly ketogenic for the past 5 months.                 My triglycerides, cholesterol, a1c and every other biomarker suggesting inflammation or health concerns are better than they’ve ever been in my adult life. That’s not a guarantee  of course that anyone will do better on it but it is strong evidence suggesting that at least some people will have much better health outcomes on keto.

Anyhow as I read this there are so many things in this article to dissect. realistic all carbs aren’t bad carbohydrates. In fact: broccoli sprouts,  broccoli and other well meaning carbs always seem to get bundled in together with cakes and cookies.  This is the biggest failure to begin with and the greatest starting point to begin your healing.  We must exclude bad fats like vegetable oils  and hydrogenated  or  highly processed oils.  Just so you know my mind is absolutely not wrapped against keto. My belief in certain instances a temporary  diet like this can be very beneficial. But long-term it can be very detrimental!

I’m in a two-year program for the fifth year because I do – do extra research. Because           I don’t always take what everybody is handing me — at face value.  Depending on which type of cancer I think it could  be very therapeutic. But for breast cancer for instance one should know that fat actually helps metastasized breast cancer cells. I think the metabolic approach to cancer is the best and for some that will be the ketogenic and for others it will not be the right diet. If I had brain cancer I would absolutely do ketogenic diet.

One has to know what works better for themselves after they do their own biological testing through SNP variants.. and not just because somebody said the ketogenic diet      will work for them. I went ketogenic when I was first diagnosed and my liver enzymes went through the roof which is why I had DNA testing through 23 and me — and also uploaded the data to find my fitness SNP variants and learned I don’t digest fat well.

I want people to realize that not everything works for everyone it’s fine it worked for Elaine Cantin. But not everybody is like Elaine and we really have to get to know our own bodies through testing and Allergy Testing. S0 whatever tests we can possibly afford, We need to realize that the more you know about how your body works chemically. The easier it will be to determine how to heal it.

I have no visible signs that was showing me that I wasn’t digesting these fats properly.

No pain.. no signs of gas or any indigestion whatsoever.. which is why it was actually a shock given that I was not able to do keda genic. So if one tries ketogenic and just can’t seem to get there liver enzymes down. Maybe they should consider getting SNP variants tested.. there are many ways nowadays you don’t have to go through 23 and me. There     many companies that do it all in one step now.
I suggest to anyone trying Keto to get their liver enzymes tested at least six weeks in then maybe every 2 months for 6 unless there are no issues at all in the first 2 bloodwork. In my case I’m also looking at the metabolic approach to cancer. Through The Eyes of Dr. Nasha Winters; I am on the waiting list — to have her speak to my practitioner — in Toronto at the Medicor Cancer Center about my specific case. She takes all of the person’s blood work for the last year and develops a program based on that… for some it’s keto for others it’s not… it’s all dependent on the person’s metabolic numbers.
Ken: Dr. Nasha Winters is very Pro Keto in fact she used it to cure her own cancer… however she takes individual blood work and will customize a protocol admittingly it’s   not always keto for some people just won’t do well on it – depending on their metabolic stasis.. and many times when you say metabolic many people think you’re talkin about digestion I’m talking about at a cellular level?
I follow Jack Kruse religiously when you listen to him for any length of time you learn      his belief that food doesn’t really matter as long as you have the DHA and get the sunlight. In fact:  he talks more about getting out into the sunlight  at 7 a.m. then he does ketogenic and I’ve seen him talk where he says he’s not necessarily procured genic to disease!!!

Jack Kruse thinks by getting outside first thing in the morning — to reset your circadian rhythm he wants you out all day long for D. What he has to say since vitamin D is not what he’s talking about necessarily. What he wants — is the full spectrum of light in your eyes at sunrise..  send signals to your skin preparing them for the afternoon sun which is how you don’t get burned. I have a diet very rich in Omega-3s — but I definitely have my vegetables everyday and I would not be considered that ketogenic ..
Mind you most diets I see today are far from being healthy because people are eating processed foods two and three times a day when they should be kept to maybe once a month.  I see people who tell me  they eat healthy  and when we go through their diet Diaries I find out that their diet – is actually atrocious and filled with toxic ingredients       in processed foods and refined oils.. and yet they are insistent they eat healthy.

I’m vegetarian because of the Methionine content. Low methionine is well documented and a strategy that the nutritional oncology Research Institute uses.. I was a client there last year and continue to follow certain aspects of that protocol and methionine is one of the pathways.. that fuels cancer.. methionine is high in animal protein. As a nutritionist students I’m interested  in many therapies  and Protocols …. As a cancer patient!  I have found my way and I’ve already been given an all-clear. In May I chose ozone insufflation and lifestyle changes including sun gazing and watching blue light exposure. With time restricted eating and a lot of detox through sauna and colon hydrotherapy.

As we as a low methionine diet with lots of fruits and vegetables.. N0 processed oil or   foods, which includes refined sugars and grains.. CBD oil and made a cannabis strain high in CBD:THC… as well as the emotional work with a counselor and energy therapist… and included acupuncture and homeopathic remedies. Then some supplements to support the blood work I had monthly,  depending on the blood work results. Which was how I chose my supplements.

Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez

 When I talked to The Amish Doctor a             few years ago he told me through his own experiences. Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez before       his untimely death had all the straight talk & answers about cancer & chemotherapy       and also  dismantling the Ketogenic diet  you would ever want to hear in many of his interviews where he calls soy poison.  ~kg.

Weeks before his unexpected death in July 2015, Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez met with ElectromagneticHealth.org’s founder, Camilla Rees, to discuss his concern about the proliferation of wireless technologies in our midst,   their link to illnesses, including cancer. We are pleased to be able to share these great words of wisdom in a video.

To learn more about the biological and health effects of electromagnetic fields from cell phones,  wireless devices,  neighborhood RF-emitting infrastructure, smart meters, and even potentially from your neighbors wireless devices, go to ElectromagneticHealth.org, Campaign for Radiation Free Schools (Facebook) or the International EMF Alliance.

Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, a prominent alternative cancer doctor, died July 21, 2015 of an apparent heart attack at his home in New York City. Dr. Gonzalez was probably the world’s foremost expert on cancer,  often recommended  by other alternative doctors as the “go-to doctor”  with the best results for supposedly  “terminal”  cancers such as pancreatic cancer. He loved helping people with cancer.  He loved sharing his knowledge  about how to treat cancer; and he loved talking about God and discussing Biblical topics as – well – as politics and current affairs. https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/cam/hp/gonzalez-pdq

Dr. Nick graduated from Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude with a degree in English Literature. He subsequently worked as a journalist at Time Inc. before pursuing premedical studies at Columbia University, and then later receiving his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1983.

During a postgraduate immunology fellowship under Dr. Robert A. Good, considered       by many to be the father of modern immunology,  Dr. Nick completed a research study evaluating an aggressive nutritional therapy in the treatment of advanced cancer. Prior     to his unexpected death on July 21, 2015,  Dr. Gonzalez meticulously  documented the scientific theory of his work and proved its effectiveness.

We all know that without Dr. Gonzalez  himself here to drive his work forward,  that his groundbreaking protocols were in danger of fading into oblivion like the brilliant work of his mentors Dr. William Donald Kelley  and Dr. John Beard.  He published several books and recorded hundreds  of  hours of interviews and lectures.  He wrote more than 120 in-depth patient cancer case studies, the result of a lifetime of research and groundbreaking patient care. Case studies that would publicly legitimize a whole new approach to nothing less than curing cancer. All kinds of cancer.

Gonzalez’s influence across the alternative medicine world can’t be overstated.                  He was cherished by millions, and was prominently featured in countless books, documentary summits, interviews and articles. He collaborated extensively with      Suzanne Somers, the author of the widely acclaimed, lifesaving book, “Knockout: Interviews with Doctors Who Are Curing Cancer — And How to Prevent Getting                  It in the First Place.”   (The book is a lifesaver for those considering conventional       cancer treatments.)

See the complete collection of Dr. Gonzalez’s interviews with Robert Scott Bell at            this link. These radio interviews span four years and cover an exhaustive array of        topics on cancer prevention and advanced cancer treatments.

Dr. Gonzalez is  the author of What Went Wrong: The Truth Behind the Clinical Trial of the Enzyme Treatment of Cancer, where he blew the whistle on a concerted effort by the cancer industry to destroy evidence of a readily available, and low-cost  cancer treatment protocol that could have saved thousands of lives a year.

“Dr. Gonzalez leaves a legacy of faith, healing,  and genuine love for people and the    pursuit of medicine. We are heartbroken at this loss, but determined to keep his work    and his memory alive,” says his official website.

Dr. Gonzalez and his colleague Dr. Linda Isaacs M.D. have had remarkable success   treating cancer patients with a non-toxic nutritional protocol that incorporates some of  the principles of the late Dr. Max Gerson M.D. and the late Dr. William Donald Kelley’s protocol  which  includes  high doses  of  pancreatic enzymes  and  individualized diets depending on body type and cancer type. I have huge respect for them, not because of their theories, but because they are getting RESULTS, including reversing “incurable” stage four cancers. Two volumes documenting 112 of their successful case studies can       be found here.
Dr. Gonzalez wrote  an eight part article series for Natural Health 365  on the history       and failure of the ketogenic diet for cancer.  Dr. Gonzalez’s  nutritional cancer treatment expertise is much deeper than anyone currently promoting the ketogenic diet for cancer, because unlike anyone else promoting it, he actually treats cancer patients with nutrition every day.
There are thousands of people out there who have healed cancer naturally.

Gonzalez’s Three-Pronged Approach to Cancer Treatment
Although most of the studies done on this approach were done on pancreatic cancer,      Dr. Gonzalez uses it to treat ALL cancers, from brain cancer to leukemia. His treatment, which is based on Kelley’s work, consists of 3 protocols: diet, supplements and enzymes, and detoxification.

The Dietary Protocol:
The cornerstone of the treatment is a personalized diet based on your nutritional or metabolic type (which happens to be a key component of my own optimized nutrition plan).
Dr. Kelley originally had Ten basic diets  and ninety variations that ranged from pure    vegetarian and raw food, to heavy-protein meals that included red meat three times a day.
“In terms of diet,  Kelley also found that patients diagnosed with the typical solid tumors: tumors of the breast, lungs, stomach, pancreas, liver, colon, uterus, ovaries, and prostate needed a more vegetarian diet,” Dr. Gonzalez explains. “But he had all the gradations of a vegetarian diet; one that was 80 percent raw, one that was 80 percent cooked. So even on the vegetarian side, there were all different variations.
Some had minimal animal protein, some had fish, some had also red meat.
A patient with immune cancer (leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and sarcomas, (which are connective tissue cancers that are related to immune cancers) tended to do best on a high-fat, high meat diet.
… Then there are balanced people that do well with a variety of foods, both plant foods  and animal products, but they don’t tend to get cancer.
Cancer tends to occur on the extremes,  the extreme vegetarians-those that tend to be      too acid-or extreme meat eaters, who tend to be too alkaline. Balanced people don’t tend  to get cancer too much. So we continued the individualized approach, as did Kelley.”

Individualized Supplementation and Enzyme Protocol:
The second component is an individualized supplement protocol, designed for your  particular metabolism. “For example,  our vegetarian patients need completely different supplements from our meat eaters. Vegetarians do very well with most of the B vitamins, while the meat eaters don’t.  The vegetarians don’t do well with vitamin A,  but the meat eaters do. The vegetarians do well with vitamin D; the meat eaters not so well with large doses, and so on,” Dr. Gonzalez explains.
“The meat eaters do well with calcium ascorbate as a vitamin C source, while the vegetarians do well with large doses of ascorbic acid. So the supplement protocols are    very individualized and very precisely engineered.”
Omega-3 fats are also prescribed, but even here Dr. Gonzalez prescribes different types    of omega-3s depending on the patient’s nutritional type.  In his experience, vegetarians,    or carbohydrate types,  tend to fare better on flaxseed oil,  which contains alpha linoleic acid (ALA) – a plant-based omega-3.
“It is thought that the conversion of the plant-based ALA into the fish-oil based Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is not that efficient,”          he says,  “But we find that our vegetarian patients actually do it very well and don’t           use the fish oil or animal-based omega-3 fatty acids as effectively.”
Chia and hemp seed oils can also be used.
Protein types, on the other hand, appear to need the EPA and the DHA and do better       on animal-based omega-3 such as krill oil.
“They don’t do well with flaxseed,” he says. “Those are the people who can’t make the conversion.”
In addition to vitamins, minerals and trace elements, he also prescribes large doses           of pancreatic enzymes.
“The essence of Kelley’s work was based on the work of Dr. Beard, which goes back to      the turn of the last century, about 110 years ago. Beard was a professor at the University    of Edinburg, an embryologist actually, not a medical researcher, who first proposed that pancreatic proteolytic enzymes are the main defense against cancer in the body and are useful as a cancer treatment,” he explains.

When treating cancer, however, he found it’s important to take the right ratio of active   and inactive enzymes. The inactive precursors are particularly active against cancer.    They also have far longer shelf life, and are more stable.
“That would be my advice – get an enzyme that isn’t completely activated,” Dr. Gonzalez says. “More active isn’t better when it comes to pancreatic enzymes, just like more and more D isn’t better than getting the right dosage. You want the right proportions of activated and inactive-most of it as an inactive precursor.”
His proprietary enzyme formula is manufactured by NutriCology. According to                  Dr. Gonzalez, pancreatic enzymes are not only useful as treatment for active cancer         but are also one of the best preventive measures. Antioxidants, such as astaxanthin,         are also very helpful, both in the prevention and treatment of cancer.

The Detoxification Protocol:
The 3rd component is a detoxification routine. Coffee enemas are used to help your       liver and kidneys to mobilize and eliminate dead cancer cells that have been broken    down by the pancreatic enzymes.
Coffee enemas, although often scoffed at today, were actually used as part of conventional medicine all the way up to the 1960s,  and were included in the Merck Manual,  which was a handbook for conventional medical treatments into the 1970s.
“They fell out of favor not because they didn’t work, but because the drug industry took over medicine, so things like coffee enemas were kind of laughed at,” Dr. Gonzalez says. “So Kelley learned about coffee enemas from conventional literature and incorporated them into his program and found them extremely helpful.”
When you drink coffee, it tends to suppress your liver function, but when taken rectally    as an enema, the caffeine stimulates nerves in your lower bowels, which causes your liver to release toxins as a reflex. Other detox strategies include colon cleanses and liver flushes developed by Kelley.
It’s important to realize, however, that conventional coffee should NOT be used for enemas. The coffee MUST be organic, naturally caffeinated coffee, and were you to           do this at home,  you’d want to use non-bleached filters to avoid introducing toxins        into your colon.
“[Organic coffee] is loaded with antioxidants,” Dr. Gonzalez says. “In fact, there are    recent studies showing that coffee loaded with antioxidants can have an anti-cancer     effect and that coffee may actually help suppress cancer.
But you have to use organic coffee, it has to have caffeine, and you have to use a           coffee maker that doesn’t have aluminum, and preferably no plastic.”

Dr. Gonzalez also relies on sodium alginate as a detoxifying agent.
“We have a preparation that we put together and it’s very effective… It’s an algae             and it chelates heavy metals and halides. I never use intravenous chelation; we just          use sodium alginate.”
He recommends taking three capsules three times a day, away from meals, for six        weeks to detoxify your body of heavy metals, such as mercury, and halides.
Final Thoughts
This is one of the most fascinating interviews I’ve ever done, and it is chock full of information-far more than I can summarize here. So please, I urge you to take the          time to listen to the interview in its entirety.
In addition to expounding on the subjects mentioned above, Dr. Gonzalez reviews             the benefits of optimizing vitamin D during cancer treatment, and how iodine supplementation can benefit breast cancer-not to mention help protect against thyroid cancer, in light of the current nuclear crisis in Japan.
We discuss the benefits of juicing and chiropractic adjustments, and the importance           of regular exercise for cancer patients.  We also review the dangers of electromagnetic   field (EMF) exposure, in terms of how it may aggravate cancer growth & hinder cancer recovery, and the benefits, along with some surprising precautions, of Earthing or grounding.
For more information about Dr. Gonzalez and his practice, see www.dr-gonzalez.com.   He’s also working on a series of books, two of which have already been published and received five-star reviews: The Trophoblast and the Origins of Cancer, and One Man Alone: An Investigation of Nutrition, Cancer, and William Donald Kelley,   which is         the original monograph  of Dr. Kelley’s work   he couldn’t get published 23 years ago.
This written summary is only a small glimpse  of the insights that were shared in our interview. If you or anyone you know struggles with cancer. . . . I would also strongly encourage  you to listen to the entire interview!!!

✨Cannabis Research 101✨

While some people will tell you the best cannabis is 1:1 ratio ( 17% THC to 17% CBD )           what is known cannabis reacts differently in everybody. Some can tolerate high levels        of THC to help pain a bit, sometimes, The high dose THC does not seem to be friends          to others, and makes them feel anxious and jittery depending on the strain. While the dispensary people are very kind  and helpful Their advice is that cannabis is a journey   until youfind the right dose. I don’t know anything — about quality brands, frequency       of dosing. however, is it affordable to play around with the high THC product to make        it usable or what does one do if it doesn’t work?

Remember ALSO:
Every cannabis strain is different, and unfortunately the research for parsing the differences is awful slim in the U.S. Also, many and various brands of oil have been               shown to profile much differently from how they are labeled. This is not to say that      some brands are legit, but if you don’t know, you can be easily misled.

So if your thinking about doing cannabis. I would strongly recommend obtaining quality   organic bud  and  making your own oil.  It’s DOABLE BUT BE SURE TO HAVE PROPER VENTILATION.  Also,  for the record,  cannabis affects everyone differently and the state    of cannabis science in the U.S. is still pretty abysmal. If you want real science, bone up on Israeli research: https://www.moderncanna.com/blog/exciting-cannabidiol-research-out-of-israel/?fbclid=IwAR1snEsu62qWhIDArwIeLi7AU2Xckm91zueN3uhbMC-aDlp_keN6X9k5ZLs

Also every body that ever took cannabis will tell you over the years they needed the THC  in addition to CBD. With the best advice giving yourself time to build some tolerance and overcoming the jitters. And remember everybody reacts differently to smoking, vaping or injecting or medible (which can be dangerous.) Sometimes you won’t know your reaction until after you ate the brownie, vaping, smoking or ingesting the tincture or oil.

Best to Try 3:1 ratio for smoking/vaping, so your less jittery. With most Indicas, however some Sativas too. Gotta find your sweet spot and move forward either way on the spectrum after experimenting which works best for you. https://www.thestranger.com/seattle/a-beginners-guide-to-ingesting-marijuana/Content?=20059080

Some of the popular sativa’s are Jake’s Grape or Sour Grape and Grape Ape?
AND For feeling creative, happy, cerebral. try these popular strains: AK47, Clementine. which are daytime sativa. Cannatonic is also Good!!
Nighttime and breakthrough symptoms (nausea especially) take the big guns. Popular Indica’s: Matanuska Thunder fuck, green crack, white widow and God’s Gift. However,     If you’re in CALI. look up Radicle Health and work with a Cannabis practitioner to get guidance. Perhaps you can use other cannabinoids with greater success. Research this stuff…read…listen…BEFORE you argue as people are seeking real help learn your metabolism and what makes you high?

Human Metabolism of THC
https://sapiensoup.com/human-metabolism-thc
Indica strains are generally best for evening/night use as they’re known for ‘couch lock’ and body stone snooze effects, where as, the Sativa strains are more typically known for daytime alert/creative effects, which quite a few people finds makes them feel edgy and jittery. (A lesser-known quirk is whether a plant is harvested early or late; cutting earlier than peak time can make an Indica’s effects more like a Sativa’s, and harvesting a Sativa late can make it give more of an Indica-like body stone.) Best to go with the lowest level   of THC possible, and the highest level of CBD possible and see how you react to THC.

Away to avoid the high You can use suppository and the high is different, however more manageable.  When you insert one around 2:00 in the afternoon  but it doesn’t effect you until  6 or 7 hours  later. I guess everybody is different.  By understanding suppositories. You can take a MUCH HIGHER dose of high THC and the THC won’t make you as jittery, anxious and you will be able to take a much higher dose? Most people don’t get high using suppositories because they are not well absorbed in the lower rectum. If someone does get high its because they were placed too high in the rectum and picked up by the Vena Cava – straight into the blood stream – similar to taking it sublingually under the tongue.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Getting started. Most people recommend a 1-1 strain like AC/DC or Harlequin and    Indica strains like Kush, Diesel, God.. There is a lot of controversy but I agree some THC  is required to kill cancer. CBD’S are good too and can be taken as well.  However,  THC is the Mighty Cancer Killer in my book. Take the proper CBD ratio and you should be taking enough to REALLY feel comfortable with the THC. Canna-brain isn’t fun, but it beats the heck out    of chemo-brain.
Cannabis can be less toxic in the long term. ALSO important is to take high Cbd FECO       to help with anxiety…( caused by high THC lol) and superior nutrition.  IT Can’t hurt!!!
Also too many women are not getting good results with high CBD. Therefore the highest amount of THC your body can tolerate is needed for all cancers.                                                  Yes, each must choose for themselves, and many will not take THC, but its known to    have reversed hormone driven cancer (but you have to find your limit.) There are newly diagnosed women all the time who deserve to know this one fact.   THC should not be feared. It always helps and most times doesn’t harms.

We need to stop this fear mongering if the cancer is progressing one must use more THC. I’ve seen many women turn to chemo and radiation.  There are many factors contributing to cancer progressing or cancer healing. I know a woman with ovarian cancer who didn’t heal at one gram of THC in her oil so she took 2 and healed soon after. Maybe what she should had done was up the ratio and not the grams to save money.  Make it known:  The strength/ratio of all the cannabinoids in the dry cannabis is exactly the same in the oil that it’s made from. If the weed is 1:1 then your oil will be 1:1. Thereby,  a gram of 1-1 oil might have .25 the THC a gram of oil made from high THC Indica has! You get more bang for your buck making medicine out of high THC cannabis!!, I would definitely say the higher the THC in your cannabis the better!!

Think of it this way: A gram of my high THC oil will probably have between 700-800 mcg. of THC, plus all the other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids from high THC material. Where as A gram of oil  made from a 1-1 strain might have 200-300 mcg. of THC. and you can take CBD drops anytime to get more CBD to help lessen the effect of the THC: CBD oil is easy to get. With THC oil it is much harder and more expensive. Consider that 1 gram of oil made from a 1-1 strain would have about 25% of the THC that a gram of oil made from high THC would have. You would need 2 or 3 grams to get as much THC as you do from high THC cannabis.

For every article you find that infers THC has an impact on the estrogen receptors, you   will find another article that says it doesn’t. We just don’t have enough research to make      a sound decision on this. Just because the cancer spread like Wildfire in one patient with hormone driven cancer who took a High THC oil doesn’t mean it will you too.

So in the meantime, you will hear people suggest to keep your THC levels low. . . .    because it can causes an estrogenic effect. Much research has been performed with isolates, however. We are discovering with more research that an isolate versus full spectrum material it can make a difference. We need more research for a definitive  answer and genetic lab test to fully understand the plant.

It will be a new world when we can grow this healing plant in a pot on our deck, or a row  in the garden beside the beans and tomatoes, or a whole garden!!! So anybody can grow it and anybody could make the oils, salves and tinctures. . . . to treat every disease known to mankind at no cost at all. THAT IS HOW IT WAS AT ONE TIME!  THIS IS HOW IT WILL BE AGAIN. Who on this god-forsaken planet cannot see the necessity of growing your own material, Thereby, being sure you know what is in the batch??
The OPPOSITION to making this healing, life giving, harmless plant available to all who needs it through GREEDY PROFIT MONGERS blinded by their need for the bottom line. And in virtual reality that may not be the way to go. DO NOT SACRIFICE YOUR HEALTH AND LIFE. Stand up for yourself. Educate yourself. Find a way and learn how to grow your own plants so you can make your own medicine and heal yourself! It is easier than experiencing yourself or a loved one suffer.
Get involved with other advocates of medical cannabis. With only one proactive step it   can lead to more connections, more possibilities, more power and more solutions. We are moving towards a more sane and humane world by doing this! The one disadvantage when u grow the plant and make oil at home is that u don’t know the THC.

What is the Difference between Cannabis versus CBD OIL.

CBD ratio with the higher THC is the faster killing the cancer. Its always important to learn through others experiences that drove before you where all the pot holes are in the road. http://jackkungel.com/index.html   https://scottspctraintrip.blogspot.com/

If one grows their own plant material, do you agree which simple research don’t you   agree heating it in coconut oil or olive oil is a safe procedure? Whereas, using solvent         is a little more dangerous but a true safeguard you know the contents of your batch.
Simple Instructions:

Knowing your strains, decarbing your cannabis, choosing and infusing your carrier          are important first steps and requires research on your own part!!!
You will need at least 5 strains of material and start with 15% CBD and 5% THC 3:1.
You must have THC for curing cancer because THC crosses the cb1 cb2 receptors and Helps make CBD effective.
Then I would have my own medicine? I think all cannabis has CBD’s and other cannabinoids in the leaves, stalks, roots.
The buds have the highest concentrations for sure, and most of the THC, but all the cannabis has THC in it.
Rule of Thumb: achieve the highest content THC – CBD which your body can safely tolerate to kill cancer.

FECO is good for TNBC!! You need the THC! ️

Just throw the book at it, it doesn’t matter what works, but make it work!!

7 Benefits and Uses of CBD Oil (Plus Side Effects)

In this video by Dr. Cristina Sanchez she talks about ratios. Near the end she speaks    about breast cancer  and she suggests using a higher ratio of CBD to THC. Probably          the best method start with 3:1 Cbd:THC and work your way to a THC dominate oil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxoxiHgXeXw
To make quality oil find at least three to five strains of Cannabis flowers with varying ratios of THC and CBD and a wide range of terpenes, and mix those flowers into and an extract the medicinal compounds using food-grade alcohol,  likely organic cane alcohol. Where would you find organic cane alcohol. https://www.extractohol.com

If you have a plant with 10% THC and 3% CBD that is about a 3.3:1 ratio of THC-to-CBD so the oil will come out in that range, or ought to. You only get out what you put in, so you can get Cannabis with known potency and make Oil close to what you want with some basic math applied. For my own preference:

Top 9 THC & Pot Health Benefits, Risks & Side Effects

I would target a higher THC-to-CBD ratio [ 3:1 ratio or higher ], and could achieve this     by knowing the lab analysis on the Cannabis flowers your choosing to extract it from and do the math to get the ratios where you need them [ Or I could have a very high THC and   a high CBD and mix them at separate times,  which I would determine based on figuring out which I thought worked best, mixing in one blend or taking THC/CBD first and take the CBD oil at a later time in the day ]. https://www.thecannabist.co/2017/01/31/thc-test-potency-marijuana-joint/41267/

I would mix each gram with a carrier oil, most likely a blend with MCT coconut oil,        olive oil and macadamia nut oil as one base. Because it takes good fat to help absorb         the oil into your body.  This helps the body absorb the benefits more than if using just concentrated oil. I would target 300-500mg+ of THC per day for two months and have follow-up testing/scans/ blood work to determine the progression of the disease, or a chance of healing.  I would want,  along with the THC,  100mg-200mg or so of CBD.           If I had an estrogen-driven cancer, I would flip this to 300-500mg of CBD and 100mg-200mg of THC.
While checking my results in 60 days and if the disease is progressing, I would switch to a 1:1 ratio or even more THC than CBD. Every body is different, however, THC and CBD and all the other compounds work the same way, it is our bodies that determine how well they will perform. Make it easy on yourself when taking Cannabis extracts, keeping up with the updates, research is going to expand the healing potentials exponentially once we know what we don’t know.

I would also eat a healthy “alkaline” diet, and eat good fats, which I believe is the Ketogenic menu. I would drink a lot of clean, filtered water and make sure I walked at  least a mile a day, preferably near a lake or an ocean, or at a high altitude. One must be proactive and not impulsive.  One must also keep fending off consuming the toxic food ingredients and the increasingly hazardous air, water we are exposed to by simply living our lives. . . . As research unfolds, I’ll amend my cancer treatment plan, and hopefully    with 100mg+ of THC a day in my system avoid the final stage cachexia.

I would go to the retail outlet, read the lab reports on what they have and figure out how much of what is needed to mix  and make my own batch of quality oil. I would also grow my own plant materials  that I felt would produce what I wanted,  For myself I like a 1:1 ratio or even less THC.  I’m pleased to see more people  recommending lower ratios of   THC, and this is just coming from my perspective of the cannabis industry is becoming.

Anti Cancer Diet – pH Balance chimachine4u.com
Consume water/ lemon diet for 6 days straight. No food at all. Consume six glasses or more of bottled water with half lemon squeezed in each time for 6 straight days with no food cleanses your body. After water diet; Fresh juice of beet Apple carrot once day.
Stay strictly on a vegan diet.
Most cancers need carbs and glutamine..so cut off the food to help rid cancer.
And he will go into autophagy repairing his body. Metabolism will increase too.
No quite, but cutting out these two will help. ~ For “autophagy” FASTING is needed           for at least 5 Days..
see Drs. Jockers & Jason Fung’s very helpful recommendations.~ everyone gets into autophagy at different rates.
.but still a help. Strains don’t matter, THC and CBD and every other Cannabinoid are identical in every strain.
THC and CBD matter, terpenes matter, so I’d research the terpenes and decide what you’re looking for and then find the flowers with those compounds.  No two strains of the same name will have identical profiles unless taken from clones so strains are merely a guide to what should be in any specific one. https://www.leafly.com/news/cannabis-101/myrcene-linalool-and-bisabolol-what-are-the-benefits-of-these-can?fbclid=IwAR01lmLXOfp3ITyYfhaz8qRop2GICdfesWN0EEDpHC8ZQV9820Bi_CZcLIU

Also look into research on Boswellia Serrata, sold as a standardized extract under the name 5-Loxin. It has shown some
promise in ovarian cancer. You’ll likely need a lot, like at least 3 capsules, 3 times daily, which is more than would be used
for its other uses. Fortunately, it’s not very expensive.

 Frankincense as a Potentially Novel Therapeutic Agent in Ovarian Cancer!!!!
The common name for Boswellia is Indian Frankincense. This research covers the        effect of the active component AKBA, which is what 5-Loxin is standardized for.                   It also says it is complementary to platinum based chemotherapy.
The guy I know in California who makes oils says he is seeing great results for a number     of different cancers by blending eleven different strains together so you get the broadest variety of cannabinoids and terpenes.  Google Shorak Oil.
His book is on Amazon.com called “Marijuana killed my cancer and is keeping me cancer free” $8 worth every penny.

I’m trying to get educated about CANNABINOL by reading a lot of research and                the recommended amountis 12% THC and 12% CBD. I take 1 only syringe of this       tincture which holds 1.0 ml,  three times a day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A SIMPLE suggestion try a starting place at 8 to 16mg of CBD
Now, I am having trouble with understanding the dosages. Many individuals are         taking anywhere from 100mg or higher of THC.
My doctor has me taking 1:1 (12% THC and CBD, three times a day, of 1.0 ml)                   and taking 1.0 ml of 25% THC, 90minutes before bed.
This does include the 6 Terpene’s I need to reduce the pain for NEUROPATHY.
Some dosage sounds very minimal compared to others but one must take into           account the differences in others
And l just watch this one: https://youtu.be/fYMCA_Tg_vk
Dr. Tamara https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkNnHOym-CM
Can anyone tell from personal experience, best strains for actually killing cancer?           How much does strain matter?
OR Am I overthinking it? The Cannabinoid THC and CBD are the major ones                   that kill cancer, which all cannabis strains have them!!!
(In other word, any strain can kill cancer). But no one can tell you what strain                 suits you the most, just try different strains, different combinations
and listen to your own body! Using medical cannabis is simple, feeling good =              doing right. However, try to look for Indica dominant strains,
which is generally more sedative. It needs both, high THC and high CBD.                           One kills cancer, while the other keeps it from metastasizing.
Harlequin or Girl scout cookie works well too.
First, every cancer is different and every person at a different stage and in different   overall health. It’s impossible to say if it will take 1 month
or 20 months for a given persons cancer to be put in remission.
Secondly, 60 grams of oil that contains 40% THC and 5% CBD is quite different             than 60 grams of oil that contains 80% THC and 80% CBD.
To set out on a course of simply consuming 60 grams in an arbitrary period of time            is a crap shoot.
Thirdly, I believe it’s important to keep in mind that successful treatment of disease       with cannabis is dose and duration dependent.
What that means is we must take a strong enough dose and take it often enough to        keep constant pressure on the source cancer, allowing it
no free time to grow or spread. Depending upon the delivery method & bioavailability       of the medicine, the cannabinoids remain therapeutically
active in the system for 4-6 hours. After that, most has been metabolized by the liver. Always remember half rice grain to start before bed and
increase and building up tolerance. What you want is 5 strain full extract cannabis oil (FECO).
Lastly, the idea that everyone can expect to be capable of doubling the dose every four  days and be on a gram a day at six weeks is just not a
sound idea. Everyone handles THC’s psychoactive effects differently. I’ve been using cannabis oil for about 7 years and a grain of rice sized 70%
THC cannabis oil puts me on my lips!!!
What you say would be true if not for the fact that a 30% THC strain will kill cancer just   as quickly as an 15% THC strain… you will just have to take
twice as much one just has to take more of the 50% at a time. You can kill cancer cells      not even knowing what strain it is let alone how many mg your taking, if you dose up to your tolerance to psych activity and keep increasing dosage as you build tolerance.
Granted, I’m not fighting cancer so don’t need to push my tolerance to reach a therapeutic dose for cancer, but for those who must, there are ways to get the THC mg without intolerable effects.
Dosing raw FECO is the least bioavailable method to deliver cannabinoids and do so by attempting to accurately judge dose size of a heavily concentrated oil and WILL result in one taking too much with a negative experience. It is also very difficult to know how many mg one is taking by this method so one must go thru trial and error every time they switch strains of oil. And then there is cost… I’ve seen numbers as low as 16% of dose is actually taken up by the body, with the rest passing thru the system and eliminated.
Others have put it in the 30ish%. It’s all over the place. But when one studies the pathways in which lipids are taken up, it’s only a logical conclusion that the best method of delivery is to help the body out by breaking FECO down into smaller droplets so there is greater surface area for bile and pancreatic lipase to prepare the cannabinoids for efficient uptake.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bottom line: As with all you read and hear, don’t take my word for it.  Research and entertain many different opinions from the great many sources.  It can seem a daunting    task but if you look at it as simply seeking truth in taking control of your own health, it’s doable and don’t believe everything you read and hear,  I believe what I verify and trust. Full spectrum actually works best in my opinion because you’re getting lots of strains & different cannabinoids through the entourage effect.

Does Alkalinity Really Work?

Karyn Calabrese states:  When I was younger,  I started my journey  because I was in        poor health? Constipated, had terrible menstrual cramps, had terrible skin, headaches:      I was the typical kind of American mess. I also discovered juicing and never looked back.   I met Dr. Wigmore who introduced me to the raw food movement, and now I have been   a  vegetarian, a vegan, and raw foodist for over 40 years.

So I have been involved in the world of health for a long time.  People will often ask me,      “Why are you in Chicago? You should be on the West Coast!’’ I tell them I’m here because   I am a midwestern woman. I love the Midwest. I love the Great Lakes and the changing of seasons.  I’ve lived in New York and Los Angeles,  but this is my home.  I love Chicago and the people here. All of the women in my family died overweight and young, I started this—at first—for my own health.   ~Karyn

Here’s The Truth and Why YOU Should Start an Alkaline Diet Today!!!

I’m sure many of you have heard of the miraculous  “Alkaline Diet”, which is supposed      to heal you of cancer, diseases, disorders,  and create an overall improved lifestyle but is highly debatable. Many supporters of the Alkaline Diet claim that the diet “helps balance the pH level of the fluids in your body,  including your blood and urine.”  While different diets definitely have effects on the acidity of urine, the idea that a diet could significantly change the body’s blood pH is slightly terrifying.

The body does an incredible job of buffering blood pH levels and maintaining a healthy  pH between the range of 7.35 – 7.45. While this pH is slightly acidic, it is vital that blood pH stays within this range.  Changes to this level are seriously dangerous and can lead to death.  For example,  a slight decrease in blood pH can cause the hemoglobin in blood to become unable to sufficiently carry oxygen throughout the body,  resulting in suffocation and death.  Not to worry though, since as stated before,  the body does an incredible—    job of maintaining this healthy pH range.

If the body seriously rejects changes to pH, then how can a diet claim to change blood   pH? For improved health?  I’ve got to say, an important aspect of a healthy diet is one    that keeps you alive.  It’s also important to get a blood test work up of any imbalances        of your vitamin and mineral make up in your body

For this reason, I decided to look into the research behind the Alkaline Diet.

The information I found regarding an Alkaline Diet linked to changing blood pH levels     in order to improve health were similar to lifestyle blogs, with no real scientific research  or author credibility. Not to my surprise, I found multiple sources calling out the diet for the blood pH claims, reinforcing   “the lungs and kidneys spare nothing to keep the pH tightly controlled since the consequences of blood pH changes would be life-threatening.” (Foroutan) This is just science.
So, we at least know that the diet doesn’t actually change blood pH, but does it work?   Does it result in better health?  Dr. Melinda Ratini says,  “Maybe, but not for the reasons     it claims.” While stating that no diet is going to substantially change blood pH levels, the Alkaline Diet suggests the foods that are “good for you and will support a healthy weight loss: lots of fruits and vegetables, and lots of water.  Many I have talk with have told me  the benefits of drinking Kangen Water  🙂

Its not so much consuming baking soda as avoiding sugar, alcohol, and processed foods”  also recommended, and good health practices as well. (Collins) This claim was reinforced by a research publication from the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health and National Center for Biotechnology Information.  Although  this  diet  does not completely follow though with its claims,  research indicates  “there may be some value in considering an alkaline diet. . . in reducing morbidity and mortality from chronic diseases and further studies are warranted in this area of medicine.”

This is not from changes in blood pH levels, but from positive affects of the diet on       other aspects of health, including: “chronic diseases such as hypertension and strokes,” “increase in intracellular magnesium,”  and patients on an Alkaline Diet may show an improved response to chemotherapy. (Schwalfenberg)
“The fact is… food simply can not change your blood pH.  Period.” (Leech) Anyone claiming that the Alkaline Diet can,  simply hasn’t done their chemistry.  While the claim that the diet improves health by making blood pH more basic proved to be false, research that has been done shows there are still benefits of the diet that shouldn’t be ignored.   Most of these benefits stems from the fact those on the diet eat more fruits & vegetables, less processed foods and refined sugar, are more active and drink a lot of water. The next time someone tries to sell you a life-changing diet plan, do your chemistry.

Alkalizing one’s body has become the basis of many recent health regimens, but some people feel that the importance of pH values is just a new fad. What most people don’t realize is that the art of pH balancing has had a long tradition, and unlike many modern theories, it has helped to save lives and maintain health.

If you remember any of your chemistry or science classes, you may recall the difference between and acid and a base, or even the definition of pH value. pH values stand for the alkalinity or acidity of a certain substance.
The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, and 7 is considered a neutral value. Every value below     7 stands for an acidic substance,  and when the value is higher than 7,  the substance is considered to be alkaline, or base.

Why is pH Value Important?
Scientists have confirmed that an acidic environment is associated with accelerated  cancer growth. Studies have shown an acidic body is more prone to disease, including arthritis  and cardiovascular disease.  Moreover,  people with an imbalanced pH value cannot utilize all of the nutrients from the food they eat,  and this can eventually lead        to fatigue.
Many studies have shown that acidic pH values increase the risk of type 2 diabetes,     heart disease, and obesity.
Alkaline pH values are linked to improved memory, reduced pain, and decreased risk       of hypertension and stroke. The value of pH levels also affect bone health. Scientists say that alkaline foods can actually improve bone density.

What Causes pH Imbalance?
Have you ever considered all the chemicals you consume? All the labels that contain aspartame, phosphorus (found in soda), and caffeine? These and many other chemicals increase the acidity of the body.
Unfortunately, we prefer eating foods that cause toxic buildup in our bodies. Moreover,  we poison ourselves on a daily basis. Toxins are found in the clothes we wear, the towels we use,  the cleaning products we buy to clean our houses, and the many other products  we use in our daily life.
However, our diet is the major culprit. People prefer to eat junk food, sweet snacks, and processed delicacies. In addition to this, lifestyle choices are another factor that increase acidity levels. Believe it or not, even over-exercising, especially cardiovascular exercises, can decrease the pH value, as it can cause excess stress on the body.

Our bodies can regulate its pH value, but not for long, so you need to help your body    reach a pH balance.

Test Your pH Level
Test strips can help you determine the pH value of your body, urine or saliva are the        best indicators. You can purchase test strips online or in some drug and health stores.

Saliva:
Before you brush your teeth, fill your mouth with saliva and then swallow. Do the same thing again, but this time spit some of the saliva onto the pH test strip. This method is necessary, as it ensures a clean saliva sample. Normal values range from 6.5 to 7.0.

Urine:
Collect some of your first morning urine and keep it in a glass container.                                 Dip the pH strip test into the urine. The value should range from 7.2 to 7.4.

How To Balance Your pH Value?
Magnesium: Most doctors would agree magnesium deficiency is common in the U.S. Magnesium is extremely important for women, because it helps the body assimilate calcium, which prevents osteoporosis.
This mineral can naturally raise the pH value, while also providing instant energy.          You can use a liquid supplement, which is often combined with calcium, as it is a great addition to a magnesium-based diet. You can find magnesium in foods such as avocado, almonds, cashews, and spinach.

Eliminate Sugar
Sugar is one of the most acidic substances. Consuming it causes weight gain and it also negatively affects the immune system.  Replace refined sugar with alkaline sweeteners, such as stevia, agave nectar, and maple syrup. Stevia may be the best choice, as it has    been proven to be the most efficient in lowering blood sugar levels.

Rev Up The Enzymes…
Acidity affects the digestive enzymes in the small intestine, and the body is unable to  break down foods and use the nutrients properly.
This leads to improper metabolism, obesity, and diabetes. Add enzymes to your diet —     for example,  bromelain (found in pineapples),  and papain (found in papaya) and you   will increase the benefits of alkaline fruits and vegetables.
Drink Lemon Water
Lemon is known as the most alkaline fruit, even though many think that it is acidic.   When lemon juice enters the digestive tract, the enzymes turn it alkaline.
Water is also important, as it cuts down the acidic side-effects of soft drinks, coffee          and tea, as well as flushing out the kidneys.  Start your day with warm lemon water          and also make sure you drink enough water throughout the day. This will ensure an alkaline environment in your body.

Eat Vegetables Instead of Meat…
Meat can contribute to an improper pH balance, as it contains zinc and potassium, essential for the body.  But it is also acidic,  and most people consume a lot of meat.
Your diet should not be based on meat only; eat meat in addition to a plate full of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Keep in mind that not all vegetables are alkaline, but most   of them are,  make sure you keep a list of alkaline & acidic foods posted in your kitchen,    so you can check  it whenever you go  to the grocery store.  Remember,  the natural pH value of foods also does not necessarily indicate the effect. . . it may have on your body.         Be proactive about your stress levels. Get enough sleep, exercise regularly and relax.            This will do wonders for your body and soul.

Remember Your Omega 3 to Omega 6 Ratio…                                                                    For most people,  an omega 6 to omega 3 ratio of 4:1 is ideal – that’s 4 omega 6s                  for every 1 omega 3. Anti-aging experts suggest going even further, maintaining a               1:1 ratio or higher in favor of omega 3s. The average American consumes a ratio of anywhere from 12:1 to 25:1 omega 6 to 3. Maintaining a healthy 3:1 ratio omega-6              to omega-3 is important, as chronic low-grade inflammation is a hallmark of most    chronic diseases,  including obesity ,  diabetes  and heart disease Omega-3 fats are   essential polyunsaturated fats your body needs for a variety of functions, including    proper cell division and function of cell receptors,

Dr. Bernardo Majalca was one of the stars of the documentary “icurecancer.com”              by Ian Jacklin. He had one of highest success rates using the Otto Warburg’s school            of thought where Cancer can not live in an alkaline environment.

Testimonial:  Dr. Robert O. Young’s Daughter Ashley.                                                                                Will it light and give you energy?

“Modernizing Budwig?”🤓

I believe there is many great Alternative Treatments out there if you believe in them with all your heart. And the information I display within this blog post are the options…. that I gravitate within my heart if I had cancer!!! It’s important to test to see if supplements are working within your body’s chemistry makeup 🙂

Feeling empowered can make a huge difference in fighting this battle. Many people, Rich people, who could buy anything in this world have not been able to save their loved ones from this beast we call Cancer.  It’s always important to get your cancer graded and typed with regard to how aggressive it may be. Brett Hudson stating that what he did may have been Farrah Fawett best option before she went the conventional route?

Paul McCartney – couldn’t save Linda from breast cancer, nor could Jackie Kennedy Onassis  save  herself  from Lymphoma  and  Farah Fawcett gave an interview  also some footage of the films made of — Farrah in Germany — taking painful treatments.  They did    not help.  In the past,  Barbara Walters interviewed Patrick Swayze and his wife about his Pancreatic cancer. During that interview Patrick said, (perhaps not in his exact words) “if anyone tells you they have a cure for cancer. . .don’t believe it,  because  if  they  did, they would be RICH and Famous.”

Some get lucky and the cancer is found early. Some are not as lucky, perhaps ignore warning signs. Sometimes you catch bronchitis and it doesn’t go away too quickly, you have a Personal Care Physician that sends you for an x-ray. Then, you get  the shock of your life!!  With  cancer  being, “The Great Deceiver”  it’s a crap shoot.  Sure,  there are things you can do to help yourself.  Don’t Smoke,  don’t be around second hand smoke     or chemicals if you can help it.  If you have to paint – or – use a mask around chemicals.    They make them. Exercise, eat a balanced diet and stay away from food preservative       that will kill you.

They say a positive attitude helps to fight cancer. I believe that — There are MANY people that have positive attitudes and have come a heck of a lot farther. . .than their doctors ever dreamed they would. We all have to follow our own path and if you think and feel a certain treatment is for you, then go for it. I gravitate toward the Budwig & Carl O. Helvie Protocol with Bill Henderson Supplements involved. The Budwig Protocol will not be very effective if a person continues to eat a diet with a lot of saturated fats (meats), hydrogenated oils, processed foods, etc. It is a small cog in the wheel of nutrition.

The Budwig Protocol will not be very effective if a person continues to eat a diet with a     lot of saturated fats (meats), hydrogenated oils, processed foods, etc. It is a small cog in the wheel of nutrition.  Hydrogenated oils  are very bad for you per Dr. Budwig.  Also for example, regular peanut butter is loaded with them. These chemically altered oils clog up your cellular and lymphatic systems. The cottage cheese/flaxseed oil helps to unclog these systems but if you keep putting these products back in there is only so much the protocol can do. When you start reading labels: hydrogenated oils are in most big selling items.

Surprisingly, these type of products are becoming increasingly available at regular supermarkets and the organic and natural products can be quite pricey. One more        thing to add.  I believe in the benefits of the Budwig Protocol.

I read all the testimonials and bought Dr. Budwig’s books.

She actually took dying people from hospitals and basically brought them back to life  using her protocol. The Budwig Diet protocol harnesses the unique properties of highly unsaturated fatty acids and sulfurated amino acids. . . . to allow the cancer cells to start “breathing” again. The Budwig Diet’s focus. . . on increasing the body’s absorption and utilization of oxygen aligns well with the High pH Therapy cesium chloride protocol.

Mushroom extract, AHCC, helpful in treating HPV!!!

AHCC® – Kinoko Gold

I think the Budwig protocol and taking AHCC to boost your immune system is a big step  to feeling better with the blood type diet…as a key to some.  Some foods act as medicines and when you incorporate them into your diet you heal. I found a website that shows the Budwig diet & full plan on videos. You can watch the flax oil – cottage cheese recipe being made as well as recipes  for the rest of the diet.  There’s one on the importance of getting sunlight & one on relaxation techniques.

In 1978, Richard A. Bloch (the “R” in H&R Block) was diagnosed with stage 4 lung     cancer and told that he had 3 months to live. Instead of accepting a death sentence,           he fought back. He found an oncologist who treated him aggressively and two years      later, Bloch was declared cancer free. He devoted the rest of his life (until his death            as a result of heart failure in 2004) to helping people fight—and beat—cancer. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2794629/

Luckily he sought a second opinion and, after two years of arduous treatment, he was completely cured.  This book was written for and dedicated to the people with cancer who want to do everything in their power to help themselves and their doctor so they will have the best chance of beating their disease.  This book is a product of Dick & Annette Bloch’s own experience with cancer.

The overriding message was that cancer patients must utilize all available information       to seek out the best possible care  and do everything they can to maximize their chances   for therapeutic success is a vital one.  This is a strong personal statement  about striving   for life. It should motivate many cancer patients to obtain state-of-the-art treatment and to play an active part in increasing their own chances  being among the growing number  of survivors.

If what I write offends please accept my apologies. Nutrition is very important as is a positive attitude. Richard Bloch who received a terminal lung cancer diagnosis lived 23 years after being diagnosed and he gave most of the credit to having a positive attitude.

Johanna Budwig (30 September 1908 – 19 May 2003) was a German biochemist and author Dr. Budwig was a pharmacist & held a doctorate degrees in physics and chemistry. [1] Based on her research on fatty acids . . . Supposedly as a biochemist. . .she treated over 2500 cancer patients  with a 90% cure rate.  The basis of the diet is modifying dietary fats.[1] It is rich in flaxseed oil, mixed with German Quark meals high in fruits, vegetables, and fiber and avoids sugar, animal fats, salad oil, meats, butter, especially margarine.

Budwig also claimed that within three months, some patients on this diet had smaller    tumors, some had no tumors left, and all felt better over with her treatment of cancer & purported anti-cancer diet, However, there is no reliable evidence supporting Budwig’s claims, and no scientific evidence that the Budwig diet helps people with cancer. There      is no indication for using anti cancer diets and they can cause adverse effects.

People with cancer who delay or forgo effective treatments as a result of using diets       such as the Budwig Diet might suffer relapse, may experience unnecessary disease progression, and experience continuing cancer-related symptoms.

While working as a researcher at the German Federal Health Office she noted many  cancer drugs being evaluated in the 1950s contained sulphydryl groups. Budwig also believed sulphydryl compounds – were important to cellular metabolism and cellular respiration. Budwig researched the theory that also a low oxygen environment would develop in the absence of sulphydryl groups and/or fatty acid partners that would encourage the proliferation of cancerous cells.

With assistance from H.P. Kaufmann, Dr. Budwig developed paper chromatography techniques to identify and quantify fatty acids. Johanna used. . . these techniques to   compare the fatty acid profiles of sick and healthy individuals. This made her one of        the first scientists to consider the health implications of fat consumption, according          to Mannion et al. in a 2010 paper in the Nutrients (journal).

I just wanted to share what I seen on the Budwig videos. It also has a lot of recent testimonials from people who belong to their forum. If what your doing seems right          for you stay on the right track.

I started the diet with my friend who has breast cancer. The videos helped a lot. In the  first week, my vascular headaches stopped.  I usually get them almost daily,  but I’m on     my 15th day of the diet & I haven’t had a headache for a week which hasn’t happened in years. My friend feels more energy than she had before. Hopefully she will respond really well to this because she quit chemo after only a few treatments. She couldn’t tolerate it.      It was making her too sick. Anyway, here’s the website if anyone is interested.

Breast Cancer Effectively Treated with Budwig Protocol Lloyd Jenkins*1 1 Naturopath, Budwig Cancer Clinic in Malaga, Spain. At Utopia Wellness, I tell patients that cancer is    a multifactorial chronic illness, which includes a lack of cellular oxygenation that results    in excessive intracellular acidity, a compromised immune system, systemic toxicity from poorly functioning detoxifying organs (liver, colon, kidneys), emotional issues and poor nutritional sources, especially once cancer has taken hold.

We are not winning the war on cancer. In fact, every day about 1,630 people die from cancer and as of March 2017,  there are more than 3.1 million women with a history of breast cancer in the U.S. alone. Not everyone is losing the war on cancer however. The Budwig protocol has proven to be one of the best therapies,  not only, for breast cancer       but all types of cancer for more than 70 years Here are 7 ways that the Budwig diet and program can help prevent cancer and effectively restore health – for those who are on a cancer healing journey. https://budwig-videos.com/budwig-diet-protocol-lifestyle-plan-in-detail/

Seven Ways the Budwig Diet Helps with Breast Cancer:  Flaxseeds balance hormones        Dr. Budwig added freshly ground flaxseeds to her famous mixture often called ‘muesli’.     In Cancer Letters by Dabrosin study done in November 2002 found that: “The women who eat the most flax lowered their risk of getting breast cancer by 62% compared to women who do not eat it [1].” Figure 1.

In the November 2004 issue of Clinical Cancer Research, a study was done combining flaxseed with tamoxifen alone. The study reported: “They used mice with human breast cancer tumors with and without supplemental estrogen. At low estrogen levels, predictive of a woman in menopause, tumors in the flaxseed fed mice shrunk 74% [1]. The tamoxifen produced an effect similar to the flaxseed shrinking the tumors initially,  however,  by the end of the experiment, those using only tamoxifen had tumors return to their initial size. Combining tamoxifen and flaxseed shrunk the tumor half again as much as tamoxifen alone did. In the mice kept at high estrogen levels, modeling a premenopausal breast cancer patient, the flaxseed alone inhibited tumor growth by 22%. The tamoxifen alone inhibited tumor growth by 41% and both together by 50% — Sunbathing and melatonin needed:

Dr. Budwig had all her patients sunbathing because she understood the importance of Vitamin D production and the benefit from photons you receive from the sun. After 20 minutes of direct sun exposure on as much of the skin as possible, she would then move her patients out of the direct sun but still leave them outdoors. She said the “sicker you  are the more you need to be outdoors”. Figure 2.

When you cannot get out in the sun a natural vitamin D supplement is recommended.    Dr. Budwig was ahead of her time in many ways.  Now several decades later,  scientist  discovered that sunlight activates the production of melatonin. “Exposure to sunlight is thought to increase the brain’s release of a hormone called serotonin. This is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused. At night, dark lighting cues trigger the brain. . . . to make another hormone called melatonin. This hormone is responsible for helping a person feel sleepy and go to sleep.  Without enough sunlight exposure, a person’s serotonin levels can dip low [2].”
Melatonin also helps regulates levels of human estrogen and growth hormone in the   body, two critical hormones in the cancer process, and it has been found to have epigenetic (cancer-correcting) properties.  Melatonin:  has also been found to affect estrogen receptor sites in the body,  modifying them so that ´bad´ estrogen (human and chemical)  cannot bind to them [2]. In addition to sunbathing, women with breast cancer can take melatonin 1 to 1 ½ hours before bedtime, daily. Start off at a lower dosage of 3 mg of melatonin. Then increase to 6 mg, then 9mg or more in stages. Some of our patients do take 20 mg without problems.  Plant extracts that disable cancer stem cells:  Budwig Center Protocol Disables Cancer Stem Cells You probably have never heard  in the middle of every cancer cell there are cancer stem cells (CSC’s) and they are very difficult to annihilate [3]. Figure 3.

In fact, many scientists are now concluding that the reason cancers come back even after intensive chemotherapy and radiation is because they have not been able to destroy the (CSC’s) cancer stem cells. Some researchers have called them “master cells” because they decide what the rest of the tumor cells are going to do. Yes, these deadly stem cells are in control of how fast cancer will spread and in addition, how it manages to grow and even resist harsh treatments over and over again.

In laboratory studies using mice they discovered that just a few of these cancer stem cells can cause the tumor to grow right back again, whereas countless other cancer cells could not do that [4].

Even though these cancer stem cells make up less than 1% of the tumors mass they have    a clever way of escaping conventional chemotherapy and radiation, target rapidly dividing cancer cells [5]. These master cancer stem cells divide very slowly, therefore they also pass right through and around the chemotherapy and even intensive radiation in many cases. And to make matters worse, these cancer stem cells if they do take in some of the chemotherapy drugs they have in built-in defense mechanism that causes it to quickly expel the chemical drugs right out of the cell leaving it unharmed. To date the researchers have found three plant extracts, that when combined can disable these cancer stem cells, which we use as part of the Budwig protocol in our cancer clinic.

Budwig food choices help control cancer:
Dr Budwig encouraged the generous consumption of cruciferous vegetables as they         are rich in nutrients, including several carotenoids (beta-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin); vitamins C, E, and K; folate; and minerals. They also are a good fiber source. Cruciferous vegetables also contain sulfur-containing chemicals called glucosinolates.                               When these are eaten they form active compounds such as indoles, nitriles, thiocyanates, and isothiocyanates.  As you may know,  indole-3carbinol (an indole) and sulforaphane (an isothiocyanate) have been most frequently examined for their anticancer effects.          In fact, indoles and isothiocyanates have been found to inhibit the development of cancer in several organs in rats and mice,  including the bladder,  breast,  colon,  liver,  lung, and stomach [5,6].  At the Budwig Center Kitchen  we teach our patients and especially those with estrogen driven breast cancer to also consume plenty of cruciferous vegetables such as: arugula, bok choy, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and radishes.

Hyperthermia for breast cancer tumors:

Hyperthermia creates heat and initiates a fever-like state, which is a natural and vital defense reaction against pathogenic bacteria and viruses. watch video Hippocrates made the statement that “illness not cured by heat is incurable.” In 1927, Julius Wagner Jauregg received a Nobel Prize in medicine for his work involving the application of hyperthermia. Fever has long been a misunderstood, but now many modern Cancer clinics and hospitals are starting to offer this hyperthermia heat therapy to their cancer patients.

“In July 2013, The Lancet Oncology published an article on the beneficial effects of hyperthermia (heat therapy). A team of clinicians headed by Rüdiger Wessalowski, MD     of the University of Düsseldorf, showed that conventional treatment that included deep tissue heating produced better results than generally achieved with surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy alone [6,7].
There were 5 major findings:  • An objective response  (i.e., tumor shrinkage) was also   seen in 30 out of 35 patients, or 86 percent. • Sixteen of these 30 patients had a complete remission and 14 of the 30 having  a partial remission. • Ten patients who still had tumors after treatment then received additional radiotherapy: 8 of these 10 then had complete and durable remissions (“cures”) . •  The probability of 5-year event-free survival was 62 % and the five-year overall survival rate was 72 %   •  Among those who received chemotherapy + hyperthermia as a salvage therapy. . . the overall five – year survival rate was 78 percent  •  Immediate pain reduction  and with the elimination of the need for pain medications • No nausea, no discomfort,  rapid improvement will be seen even after ! session and improved immune system response Switch from a regular bra – to a sport-type bra:  A bra with a lift type support that will restrict the lymphatic system, which is our body’s ‘garbage disposal’ system.
Toxins thereafter stay trapped in the fatty tissues in the breast area. Toxins are the main cause of all cancers  and need to be continually eliminated from the body  by using a mini trampoline, which the Budwig Center places in all the rooms of its patients. At the Budwig Center we encourage all our female patients. . .to switch to a comfortable fitting sport type bra. As there are more and more studies indicating the dangers of EMF’s with cell (mobile) phones, it would be very unwise to carry these phones in your bra.  Find out more how the Budwig Diet can effectively prevent cancer  and restore your health  and that of your loved ones with cancer by downloading our Free Budwig Guide at: www.BudwigCenter.com

THE 3E PROGRAM
For 20 years Lothar Hirneise has been traveling throughout the world looking for the most successful cancer therapies, and he has been explaining to people that there is much more available than just chemotherapy and irradiation.  Recognized internationally as Europe’s leading specialist in this area,  he describes the results of his years of research here in our centre.  The 3E program… is based on the analysis of case histories of thousands of people who have survived late stage cancer. Now you can learn why so many people die of cancer, and why so many others do not. We can help you to find your own way to cure cancer through the 3E program.

THE GERSON THERAPY: CANCER DIET
The Gerson Therapy is a safe, natural treatment developed by Dr. Max Gerson in             the 1920’s that uses organic foods,  juicing,  coffee enemas,  detoxification and natural supplements to activate the body’s ability to heal itself. According to the Gerson Institute, “Over the past 60 years, thousands of people have used the Gerson Therapy to recover from so-called “incurable” diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and arthritis.”
Gerson Therapy involves 3 important steps that have to be performed simultaneously.
– The first step is detoxification by coffee enemas.
– The second step is the Gerson Diet that supplies the essential nutrients including enzymes from 13 glasses daily of fresh vegetable and fruit juice.
– The third step is the supplement of deficient nutrients, particularly potassium, iodine, and thyroid hormones. Additional supplements are used that include niacin, pancreatin, flaxseed oil, castor oil, coenzyme Q10, Wobe-Mugos enzyme products, laetrile, crude liver or vitamin B12 injection, and gastrointestinal enzyme products. The therapy aims to restore the diseased cells in the body back to normal.
After the initial 6-12 week intensive treatment, the Gerson Therapy Program requires the cancer patient to adhere to a maintenance diet of low-salt, low-sugar, low-animal protein and high-potassium diet. All types of fresh and organic vegetables and fruits are encouraged. Tobacco, alcohol, canned, frozen, and other processed foods are discouraged. Salt and sugar are to be minimized or avoided completely – they should come from the natural foods, not from refined sources. The detoxification of the liver and the production of thyroid hormones to regulate the immune system are crucial to cancer recovery. Liver detoxification with coffee enema is a very important procedure in Gerson Therapy. It lowers the quantity of blood serum toxins, cleaning the poison out of the fluid nourishing normal cells. Coffee enemas cause dilation of bile ducts, facilitating excretion of dead cancer cells by the liver and dialysis of toxic products from blood across the colonic wall. The Gerson Therapy program requires dedication and discipline and hourly juicing – it simply will NOT WORK if you do not adhere to it completely, or if you cut corners and eat a few wrong foods here and there. It is ideally suited to the cancer survivor who is highly disciple to adhere to the strict regime.

Cancer Fighting & Preventive Foods and Supplements

Father Romano Zago was born on 11/04/1932 in Lajeado, Brazil. He is a priest of Italian origin, belonging to the Franciscan friars. When he was just 11 years old, he started the “San Francesco” Serafico seminary in Taquari where he completed his studies, becoming    a novice in 1952.
Father Romano Zago studied philosophy at Daltro Filho and Theology at Divinipolis, in Mato Grosso, where he was then named priest in the order of the Minor Friars. Later he was appointed professor at the Taquari seminar and in 1971 he graduated in literature and began teaching languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese and Latin) in the various houses of his order. In 1991 Father Romano Zago moved to Israel, where he continued teaching to young people.
Currently he works and lives in Brazil, his country of origin, where he returned after completing his mission in the Holy Land.
The discovery of Father Romano Zago. In his book “Cancer can be cured“, the Brazilian friar says he made an important discovery, a discovery that can cure cancer. It is a simple juice made with three natural products: Aloe Arborescens leaves, organic honey and distillate.
That’s all.
Actually, he points out that the discovery is not his own merit. Others before him had already conceived and successfully used this Aloe juice.
The merit of the friar is exclusively that of having spread this recipe all over the world, through word of mouth and above all by writing and publishing his book “Cancer can be cured”, where besides illustrating precisely the right method for the preparation of the juice, he reports witnesses of cancer patients, healed thanks to the intake of the juice made of Aloe Arborescens, honey and distillate.

One of these witnesses, through which Father Zago testifies the efficacy of the juice for the first time, is by Mr. Giovanni Mariani, who was suffering from advanced prostate cancer and to whom the doctors had given a week of life. The friar tells in his book how, after a few weeks, the patient has recovered completely from his disease, returning to his normal daily life healthyer than ever.
The Brazilian friar had then other opportunities to test the efficacy of the Aloe juice. In particular, when he was transferred to Israel, he continued his work of disseminating his knowledge, taking care of numerous patients suffering from cancer. In these years the research of Father Zago caused quite a stir and was also published in the magazine “Terra Santa” and in some specialized magazines.
Returning to Brazil in 1995, Friar Zago continued to divulge his recipe based on Aloe Arborescens, honey and grappa, starting to devote himself more and more to the care of cancer patients. Finally, moved by the great number of “miraculous” healings, he decided to collect his findings and his witnesses in the book “Cancer can be cured”, with the aim of sharing his recipe with the entire world.
Who is the real creator of Aloe recipes?
Nobody knows, not even Father Zago.
What the friar knows is that this recipe has existed for years in the Rio Grande poor slums.
A mix able to cure cancer and many other diseases, for poor people who have no other way to heal themselves, if not to draw from what nature has made available to them.
Through another priest, Father Romano Zago became aware of this “miraculous” recipe. The friar in question is Father Arno Reckziegel, who had served in the village of Noivado-Mar the year before.
Father Arno Reckziegel, constantly in contact with the sick, had witnessed incredible healing in person, including cancer patients. He had thus learned of the recipe based on leaves of Aloe Arborescens, honey and spirit, with which these people were treated, without using medicines, for them too expensive.
This is how Father Romano Zago became aware of the anti-cancer recipe.
From then on, Zago started to test over and over this recipe, which to his amazement was almost always successful, taking care of most of the cases of cancer that he encountered the following days and years.

Dr. Shamsuddin recommends 2 capsules IP6 Health twice a day as prophylaxis for otherwise HEALTHY people (that’s what he has been taking everyday since 1998) and 8-12 capsules thrice a day for therapy. One can go even higher than that as the composition is quite safe orally. Please keep in mind that in the absence of a dose determination (Phase I) clinical trial, this recommendation also is based on extrapolation of data from laboratory experiments; and the preceding. . . .  is not to be considered medical advice for which you should consult your health-care professional(s). By the way, do not be surprised if you feel more energetic, have fewer or no attacks of common cold or flu, healthier nails and hair etc!

Enzymatic Therapy Cell Forte IP-6 & Inositol, gluten-free
For a chronic disease like cancer, you have to take more than the label claims. Very good product. I’m thinking of incorporating it again, if my pocket lets me. If you’re taking it for preventative measure, the dosage on the label would do, if you have cancer or any chronic disease, people take up to 8 caps two times a day. That’s how much I took for that mass to melt away 2 yrs ago. That’s what makes it expensive. From the testimonials, a lot of people took it until they were clear and then backed down to maintenance dose.  I would e-mail   Dr. Shamsuddin He patented the ip6. his team they are pretty good at responding with     all the info you need.  Go the  “contact us” @ www.ip-6.net  and ask your questions.              I hope this helps. Listen to him here!!!

Econugenics is the only scientifically studied brand of MCP. It’s pricey, but it’s the only brand clinically proven to inhibit cancer metastasis. Pecta Sol C . . . is found on Amazon. Developed by Dr. Isaac Eliaz, and it has studies behind it. Prevents metastasis. Dr. Eliaz, who has prescribed powder form for many1/5 scoops twice daily, once on getting up and last before bedtime. With that lime flavor being most flavorful without the bland taste of stevia that is in the supplement.

If you find yourself hungry by mid-morning, add Hemp Hearts to your breakfast. Hemp Hearts are shelled hemp seeds and are one of the best sources of protein, essential fats, vitamins and enzymes available. They also provide needed fiber to your diet.

Eating the recommended amount of Hemp Hearts each morning can help to provide you with energy for much of the rest of the day, help the body to expel wastes after every meal and reduce or eliminate hunger for as much as 8 hours.  The daily recommended serving    is 4-5 tablespoons of Hemp Hearts eaten with fruit and yogurt (vegetables for diabetics).   A 1-pound container is equivalent to about 41 tablespoons.

Dr Oz: Anti-Cancer Supplements:
Dr Oz did a show about Stomach Cancer and did a segment on an Anti-Stomach Cancer Diet followed by this discussion of supplements that prevent Cancer. Want to know how  to beat cancer in its tracks?  In this segment,  Dr. Oz gives you 3 surprising supplements that may help you fight cancer.  Vanessa, and audience member, stated that she had two aunts diagnosed with cancer, so therefore it was a definite concern of hers. When Doctor Oz asked her if she took any supplements,  she stated that she was a big advocate of fish   oil and multivitamins.  (She did admit to having no idea which supplements were in her multivitamin.)

Dr. Oz: Zinc Breast Cancer Supplement
1. Zinc for breast cancer-free radicals go into the cells and into DNA and zinc helps knock it out. Zinc supplements help repair the cells so the cancer cannot grow. Zinc also helps your immune system find cancer cells and acts as an anti-oxidant. To get the full benefits of a zinc supplement, take 8 mg per day. Dr Oz noted that zinc is contained in many multivitamins but check the label to be sure.

Dr. Oz: Calcium Colon Cancer Supplement
2. Calcium for colon and rectal cancer- Studies show that people who have calcium supplements have a 24 percent less chance of colon and rectal cancer. So getting the maximum benefits with calcium supplements by taking 600 mg 2Xs per day.

To eliminate constipation, Doctor Oz suggested taking the                                                            600 mg. calcium supplement with 400 mg of magnesium.

Dr. Oz: Omega 3 Skin Cancer Supplement
3. Omega 3 for skin cancer- Take 600 mg of omega 3 per day to help your body                beat bad cancer cells. Doctor Oz Fans already know Omega 3 is also great for pain            and inflammation as well as better brain function. Pick up a bottle today

Black Raspberry Protects Against Esophageal and Cervical Cancers.
Dr. Oz said that he wasn’t even aware of black raspberry supplements. Dr. Duncan said   that black raspberry supplementation is helpful in protecting you against esophageal and cervical cancer.  Just one capsule is equal to 4 cups of black raspberries. He said that you should look for this supplement in a freeze dried form.  The micronutrients found in the pigment that gives black raspberries  their dark color – is what helps protects you against cancer. Dr. Lindsey Duncan takes black raspberry supplements every day.  I found Black Raspberry Supplements online for only 11 bucks. They are marked down from 20 dollars! Yes, they are the fresh freeze dried capsules that was recommended on today’s show!

Cimetidine (Tagamet®) is a drug historically used to reduce stomach acid production. Published research dating back more than 20 years shows this drug might make a greater impact in medicine if used as a cancer therapy rather than . . . . as a treatment for gastric disorders. Cimetidine is known as a H2 blocker that reduces stomach acid secretion, its role in cancer treatment has been grossly overlooked.

I have read that iron acts like a Trojan horse to open up cancer so other meds can attack those cells. My nutritionist said instead of iron supplements which can cause problems in some, to take Ferrum Phos (cell salt) which helps your body to absorb iron more efficiently from the foods you eat. This helps to activate artemisinin in the right combination to get into your cancer cells.

Has anyone tried Avemar? I am introducing this fermented wheat germ supplement to   my mom I have read a lot about it helping to prevent the glucose uptake – by cancer cells from the blood stream.  Many healthy foods are derived from wheat germ. The molecular composition of these products, however, greatly differs as shown by normal-phase HPLC-mass spectrometry analysis. Avemar is also a nontoxic wheat germ extract registered as a special nutriment for cancer patients in Hungary. It shows potent anticancer activity on cell lines by deeply interfering with glucose metabolism and affecting expressions of several kinases.
In in vivo experimental models, Avemar is also effective by enhancing the activity of         the immune system — such as stimulating NK cell activity (by reducing MHC I molecule expression), enhancing TNF secretion of the macrophages,  increasing ICAM 1 molecule expression on the vascular endothelial cells.  All of these lead to apoptosis of tumor cells. The wide range of biological activity of Avemar probably cannot be explained by only one active ingredient. Since there are numerous experimental data and the clinical benefit repeatedly confirmed Avemar can be one of the most potent and best researched food supplements available for cancer patients. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20155632

While also taking curcumin 1300 mg twice daily.

Nothing ever takes away from eating right!!!

The Gerson Therapy Cancer Diet

The Gerson Therapy is a safe natural treatment …. developed by Dr. Max Gerson in the 1920’s that uses organic foods…. juicing…. coffee enemas…. detoxification…. and natural supplements to activate the body’s ability to heal itself. According to the Gerson Institute, “Over the past 60 years, thousands of people have also used — Gerson Therapy to recover from so-called “incurable” diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease and arthritis.” Gerson Therapy involves 3 important steps that have to be performed simultaneously.

The Gerson Therapy program is restrictive and requires dedication and discipline and hourly juicing – it simply will NOT WORK if you do not adhere to it completely, or if you cut corners and eat a few wrong foods here and there. Its ideally suited for the cancer survivor who is highly disciple to adhere to the strict regime.

Clinic Epilogue – By Teresa Levi  🙂
Sorry to be so late in posting after my visit to the Gerson clinic in Mexico.                                 I was home for a week and then out of town for a vacation with family.
The flight back was fine although we got home very late. I am back into my routine.             I have not had any other healing reactions since I’ve gotten back from Mexico.
The institute gives you a lot of food to bring with you on the plane. Some patients take     up to 24 hours to get home. The bag includes a canister of dry oatmeal, 2 sandwiches,   large container of cooked veggies,  4 red potatoes,  thermos of hot soup,  different tea  bags, napkins and utensils.
I want to let you know what kind of expenses we incurred with going to the clinic so you can know what to expect.
Here are the expenditures for our trip:
2 weeks stay for nutritional treatment $9,000
(I was a return visit patient so it cheaper than the first time)
Vitamin C treatment $980
Immunotherapy Treatment $5,500
Ultrasound Consultation $150
Laundry services ($5 per load) $15
Shuttle from San Diego and back $260
Lunch for trip back $35
Loaves of bread (6) $12
Air Flights for 2 $1970
Shuttle to and from Ft. Myers $190                                                                                                      ________                                                                                                                                    $18,112 total

I brought back bread from the local bakery the clinic uses but they do not ship.                      There are no preservatives in it so it wouldn’t last in shipping and go moldy.
The ultrasound consultation also included his review of my PET scan. This is another physician who comes into the clinic upon Dr. Cervantes’ referral.

14th day at the clinic – Last day of treatment with Vit. C. Glad to have the Heplock removed. Packing up, writing thank you cards for staff, and enjoying not having to cook!
My friend will come by on Tuesday after we shop to help clean food. It will help a lot since the fridge is completely empty.
Tonight we all were talking about the juicers we use, how we work out our schedule for    the day, tips to make our time more efficient, making coffee, and when to throw out juicing clothes.
That’s one of the good things about this support group and being here at the clinic,         that you can talk out the logistics of the different details of the Gerson therapy.
I feel it has been a successful stay and worth coming here. I’ll have monthly phone        visits with Dr C until I come back in 3 months for another round of dendritic vaccines    and circulating tumor cell test. This will check the amount of cancer cells in my blood    and if it is lower than during this current visit.
Thanks for following my journey here at the clinic. When I get home, I’ll do an epilogue with the costs involved in this trip. I can’t wait to get home to our dogs and my bed! God bless you all and never give up!

13th day at the clinic – It’s all good in Mexico. We all had a lot of good conversations going on today.  Sharing stories about life in general And our health issues. Also I try to encourage them in pursuing health with Gerson.  I remind them of the things that have healed in me and they can do the same. Patience is a good virtue to make friends with.
The sun finally stayed out for some hours making it pleasant to sit outside.
I got the paperwork I need to use at the airport for my food and fluids and finalized         the bill. We went over next visit’s prices also. I’ll share all that when I get home.
Dr C and I went over my hourly schedule of supplements for when I get home.                   He is stopping some things, changing others and adding one new one.                                  He had written up the explanation of the immunotherapy and read it to me.                            And It sounds good.
We played cards today and spent the time each of us trying to remember the rules for gin! I’m still working on the jigsaw puzzle but don’t think I’ll get it done by tomorrow. Aw well. . .
Winding down and finishing this time here. I’m ready to pack up tomorrow and get my  last IV Vit C. You all remember to not give up even when it doesn’t look good. This is a process and the body does sort itself out, give it time.

12th day at the clinic – I had my third vaccine shot with no reaction. It’s been a good day. Getting to know the other patients and talking out different details we’re dealing with with our diseases.  We discussed the other supposed Gerson clinics — what differences are with the licensed one. We were also sharing life stories.
I spent time with the Gerson patient advocate and talked about the need for basic information about the immunotherapy be shared with those wanting to come to the     clinic so they can make an informed decision. Dr C came up on our conversation in          the courtyard.  Afterwards when I had my consultation,  he said he would write up something. Also the advocate was going to contact the chemist and ask her to help          with it.
While I’ve been here, Dr C has changed my schedule to 9 juices and 2 CE’s. I do them         at 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. The wide spread is to allow the vitamin C IV to work in my system     for many hours before I detox again.
I’m drinking a lot of tea and gruel to help with this congestion in my lungs. I think it        will clear in a couple of days.
It’s all going well and even though I don’t see the end from where I stand, I will stay tenacious to this walk.

I did an 11th day but can’t find it. Maybe listed as 10th or 12th day.

10th day at the clinic – I had another dendritic vaccine shot and I’ve had no reaction today. More patients coming in and others leaving. It’s good to get to meet new people for different perspectives.
We had a class via internet from one of the home set up trainers. They can come to your house and help you set up the kitchen, bathroom, eliminate chemicals. They’ll show you how to prepare the foods. She talked about RO and distilled water.  Also,  she went over    the importance of not cheating and having everything ready for when we go home from  the clinic.
Initially when I first learned of the Gerson back in 2011 for treating diabetes, it took         me 6 weeks to get rid of chemicals and set up the kitchen. There are just so many details involved, you just work through the next day as to what maybe needed to add or change.
At dinner, another patient and I talk strategies to holiday gatherings. You just have to    plan for it, there’s no other choice. You have to make the decision over and over even if people bemoan your choices or make fun of you.
We also talked about the costs involved with eating the Gerson way and Chemo/drugs. What is the price of life?
I love talking to people doing Gerson because we all are on the same age. Only here can you talk with the people around you about problems with enemas! Something not done     in polite company!
Just want to remind all of you out there that you are the best, so Gers-on!

9th day at the clinic – well, Dr. C and I had a long discussion about yesterday’s    healing reaction. I told him about the other healing reactions over these last 4 years.         He was pleased about my reaction and so am I. He thinks because I’m so detoxed,          that that’s  why I had one so soon after the vaccine.

The other patients were asking about me and I told them I felt much better.
This process of healing is not easy or enjoyable at times but it is well worth all the effort put into it. It feels like when In my career as a physical therapist, I would have a patient and they would say, “Oh the doctor says I’ll never walk again”.  I would say,  “Oh really,   well let’s see what we can do about that”. And with lots of work by the patient. . . .they would be back up and walking.
I guess that’s how I feel about the Gerson therapy. I’m not a rocket scientist, however,          I understand basic biology and when the body has the right nutrients it starts fixing itself. Cells regenerate and tissue grows. I don’t know how long this process will take, but since they only gave me to 2017 to live, I’d say I’m doing really good for the odds!

8th day at the clinic – they started the dendritic vaccine shot. So she iced it for 5 min.,    then injected an anesthetic, then the vaccine in my right upper thigh. So Iced it 5 minutes, rest 10 minutes, then walked for 15 minutes. It was sensitive after….. but nothing major.
All afternoon It was like I couldn’t get warm even with jacket, pants and blanket on.    Went to media room right before dinner. I was wheezing and couldn’t get relief and I felt     full from lunch so I got small portions of dinner.  I stopped eating and just talked.  All of a sudden I started feeling really bad, nauseated, faint, like I was going to throw up and have diarrhea. I laid my head down on the table. Everyone around me were trying to talk to me. I just wanted to get on the floor to lay down. Somebody went and got the nurse and doctor. I knew I couldn’t get to my room. They took vitals and things were a little low. I guess after about 15 minutes, The nausea started going away. So they put a cold compress on my neck and went and got the wheelchair.                                                                                                         I wasn’t as faint and was able to get in the wheelchair and the guys got me to my room. Finally felt better and mild headache. Talk about a healing reaction! I’ve had them before over these 4 years but rarely. This was a big one. Seven hours after the vaccine. The other patient who has had the vaccine here has had no reaction. Well I got what I asked for.
Ah, the joys of the Gerson Therapy!

7th day at the clinic – Not much happening today. Some good conversations with patients who will be leaving this week.
I’m over my having a meltdown. I get back on my feet and keep taking the next step forward.
Starting to plan our coming back in a few months and how we can make it efficient in getting started the first day with them drawing blood for the vaccine. I have to do liver shots when I get home so have to talk to ISHI about supplies. Hopefully they will ship instead of us taking it on the plane.
You know, you all are the best! It helps so much to have the love and support of this   group to move through this process of healing, so thank you. Oh yeah, Kathleen Blake,        I was telling the patients about the song your kids used to sing during your CE’s, they thought it was funny.  Stay focused and move forward, y’all!

6th day at the clinic – The lab tech came out to start the immunotherapy with the expanded blood infusion. It took 15 min. I had 2 IV sites right wrist and elbow area. She put it in the elbow area and afterwards, she removed the site. Afterwards I walked to the nurse’s station for them to take vital signs.  Then the nurse brought the Vitamin C bag to my room to set it up. She flushes before and after with saline. Well, the vein blew and the saline went under the skin.  She looks at me and I was not a happy camper.  I knew what she would have to do, set another site and it hurts more in the wrist area. We walked back to the nurse’s station into the examining room, lay down and she goes to work. I’m trying not to yell. She gets it in and taped. I sit up and start crying. I had met my breaking point in this process. She starts rubbing my back while I’m sitting there.  I’m thinking, “I don’t even want to be here in Mexico. The Gerson was suppose heal all of these diseases.                I didn’t cheat. It just doesn’t seem worth it to go through all of this.”
I go back to my room and cry some more.  Some days are just hard! She comes back            in and starts the Vit. C. I calm down.  Rest a few minutes then roll the IV pole across         the courtyard, down the hall,  down the steps,  through the dining room and over to           the media room where the class on immunotherapy is starting.
A chemist went through the basics of how they make the dendritic vaccine and how it knows to attack the cancer. Dr C was there also and chimed in with info. It was excellent. She made it easy to understand. I believe my body is so detoxed from 4 years of enemas and with the good nutrition, that it should just kick this cancer out once it knows to attack the cancer.
Well some days in healing are just crummy. When Dr C and I talked after the class we agreed that this vaccine should knock the cancer down. He says that I don’t look like the typical bone Mets patient. I shouldn’t be up and walking around.  Bone Mets causes pain that moves from place to place. Usually you have to go on narcotics to help get relief of it. The last time I had a Vicodin was in February after driving 13 hours. I just change positions or rest or take a coffee enema to help decrease the pain. You can break bones easily. It’s been 3 years since I broke a back bone. It is hard to believe I even have this disease. So I keep going!

5th day at the clinic – Continue 20 grams of IV Vit. C.  they gave Cooking class on the Hippocrates soup ingredients, a potato salad they make and a salad dressing. Several of us sat with the teacher who helps run the clinic and went through stories of different people who have come to the clinic but don’t make the changes needed with the Gerson therapy. It’s hard to comprehend why someone would come all this way and just continue their old way of living. Ah, human nature, people have to make their own decisions for their health or disease.
We also talked about cheating and how needful it is to follow the regimen. When     working with a Gerson doctor, they allow one patient other foods that you’re not able to have and you can’t see that as an option for you because each case is seen differently by  the doctor. For me, I don’t have a problem with any restrictions I have in my diet. Whatever Dr C wants me to restrict or allow is okay. After 3 years I trust his judgement     in this process. And that was a main reason for me coming to the clinic initially back in 2016, to have physician who could guide me in healing these diseases.
We also discussed immune systems and healing. We went over the fact that the Gerson therapy has healed diabetes and my thyroid function is normal and both of those issues involve the immune system so it should be able to knock out this cancer.
I’m hoping for a healing reaction during this next week of treatment. Tomorrow I have autologous target cell immunotherapy- LAK/NK done with my own blood having been extended and infused back into me by IV. It’s bright red blood. There are only 2 of us having the treatment. I think it only takes 20 minutes.

4th day at the clinic – I had another long visit with Dr. C. We discussed the need to    control estrogen to limit the growth of lesions in my bones. Dr Alicia Melendez, she’s been associated with the clinic for 40+ years,  was in the office  and He talked to her regarding    a supplement for it.  I don’t want to confuse People – so I won’t name it.  It’s not one of the basic Gerson supplements. He talked to the doctor making the vaccine & immunotherapy treatment about having it strong enough for bone mets.                                                               I like him taking his time with me to cover different issues.
More vit. C through IV. No class today. Watched a movie in the media room with my sister. Worked on a jigsaw puzzle with another patient.  Had a great conversation with        a patient regarding how to schedule the day and get help as she needs it when she goes home. Was able to spend time reading my Bible and pray.
Oh, yeah, I have a bidet and heated toilet seat, how fancy is that?!
I’ll start treatment on Saturday so tomorrow should be status quo. Yoga and cooking    class will take up part of the day. It’s all good!

3rd day at the clinic – we’re doing the IV vit. C everyday. To day they took, I think a pint of blood from me to make the dendritic vaccine  and also the cytokine-induced killer cells immunotherapy. Also did the CTC blood test- it measures how many cancer cells you have in your body.  So I have a Heplock site in my Right wrist  and elbow area so difficult to use my hand.
Dr C and I had another long talk about politics, football, and healing strategies! He is getting patients that are very severe and wanting the immunotherapy. We went over how needful it is to detox the body so that the immunotherapy will be more effective. There is no guarantee that this will get rid of the cancer completely and that is disappointing , but I’m determined to beat the odds. My family is supportive of me and that helps.
In talking to other patients, they talk about getting around the rules like still adding a   little salt because it’s hard to do without.  I tell them straight that you can’t risk your life    by cheating. You have to stay on target to heal properly. So we talked about doing recipes with ingredients we’re allowed to have to add variety.
We had a class on making the juices and different juicers so it was a good review for me.
I try to give tips in getting through the day’s schedule.  Those  I’ve talked to are less than   4 months on  Gerson, so it’s still overwhelming and they’re just doing the basics because  of all the work it requires.
Thanks for following this journey with me.

2nd day at the clinic – A colleague of Dr. C came and looked my PET dvd. There are many more lesions in my bones than the report here in the states. Places in my sternum     & ribs. His theory is that they were just hitting the highlights of the cancer. I’m looking at the screen with him and seeing the lighting of these other areas and afterwards, Dr C said he had asked if I was able to walk into the office. I guess things don’t look so good but I’m still getting around well. He said one good thing. Because I have osteoporosis in my spine and cancer doesn’t like that. It looks for good blood supply areas and so that indicates the vertebrae — are much less likely to compress and put pressure on the spinal cord causing paralysis. Mixed blessing for me.                                                                                                            It was an extensive consultation and we went through every level of my spine, ribs,          and pelvis. Also I had an extensive visit with Dr. C. Talked about all these diseases and problems that I no longer have because of the Gerson therapy. How, even if this cancer looks bad on screen, Dr. Gerson always said, how is the patient bedside?   I feel good,      not having symptoms of where these lesions are,  bloodwork is good,  rarely take meds         for pain.  For bone Mets pain is usually a main complaint.  The last time that I took a Vicodin was one night in Feb. When I had pain long enough and could endure no more after driving 13 hours.    I’d say that is very good.
Doing Vitamin C IV again. The class today was a psychologist giving info on changing           our thinking on dealing with our situations. Very good. Rested the afternoon

1st day at the clinic – we’re getting settled in to the clinic. Good to see nurses               and staff that we saw the last time, 3 years ago. Immediately they got started with   drawing blood and hep lock placement so they can do blood draws & treatment.
Ooh it’s cooler than expected but came with clothes for both ends of the spectrum.          Had to go shopping at Walmart: because TSA had taken out my sister’s toiletries in       their inspection and didn’t miss them until we got to Denver, oops.                                       Speaking of which, I brought the special form they have so I could bring all my food/drinks for lunch and dinner. They of course got bothered by it but I reminded them that I was following their rules with the form.  I had also emailed them the day before the flight to confirm. I had four people looking at my form and the supervisor said to do their procedure. It is a litmus test for vapors held over the opening. Ah, the joys of traveling!
Dr. C saw me and we discussed where we are at and where we need to go with treatment. We did Vit. C treatment by the afternoon.  A new nurse was going to teach me to do my first CE since I was a new pt. I told her that I had been doing them for 4 years. . .so I felt confident about it. Here they do 8 oz. coffee concentrate, 8 oz. chamomile tea, and 16oz.    of water, so you get 3 thermoses to keep in your room .
We met other patients at dinner and had good conversation over different aspects of the Gerson, especially healing reactions. I spoke to another patient from Brazil and we both were rusty on our Spanish but could say enough words to tell our stories and encourage each other.
I think the food tastes somewhat better than at home because I don’t have to cook it!     Glad for the break. My Heplock  in my Right wrist & was having treatment so my sister had to help get my food for me and cut up my potato, how’s that for dependency?!                       Thank God for the companions!    Watch the Science of Gerson Here..

11. What If Cannabis Cured Cancer – Documentary 48m:59s
Discover the truth about this ancient medicine as world-renowned scientists in the field of cannabinoid research illustrate their truly mind-blowing discoveries in this feature-length documentary.
Using original and archival footage, the film presents controversial but highly convincing evidence that this forbidden herb has healing properties beyond any other plant on the planet— interacting as it does with the body’s own “endocannabinoid system” to keep us fit and disease-free.
“What if Cannabis Cured Cancer” explains how we are all born with a form of marijuana already in our bodies, and when pot is consumed, the “endocannabinoids” inside us—along with any cannabinoids we ingest—fit together like a key in a lock. Thereby promoting the death of cancer cells without harming the body’s healthy cells. https://www.cannabisni.com/2208/what-if-cannabis-cured-cancer-documentary

12. Cannabis Research Studies
Israel is the marijuana research capital of the world. The man who started it all, the grandfather of the marijuana research, is Professor Raphael Mechoulam. He is a chemist and he became interested in marijuana in the 1960s. Morphine had been isolated from opium in the early 19th century, cocaine had been isolated from coca leaves in the mid 19th century and yet in the mid 20th century the chemistry of the cannabis was not known.
It looked like an interesting project but not an easy one because in Israel, like almost everywhere else, marijuana was illegal. So how did Professor Raphael Mechoulam get the marijuana for his work? He went to the police and took five kilos of hashish. He didn’t have a car at that time so he used public transport for carrying the hashish, while people were complaining of the strange smell. They tested the “merchandize” on few volunteers including themselves.
It might seem like a simple experiment but the results were revolutionary. They were the first to isolate THC and CBD decades ago – two ingredients in marijuana that might have powerful abilities to treat disease. In Israel today marijuana is an accepted part of medical care – for pain, for cancer patients, for sleep problems, epilepsy, and digestive problems. They’re even looking at Parkinson’s and Tourette’s. The list is expanding but there hasn’t been too much research in patients because it’s very difficult to do that… especially in the United States which classifies marijuana as a dangerous Schedule 1 drug.
In the US researchers have to jump through extra hoops to work with it. It’s expensive and time consuming but the grandfather of this science says he is proof it can be done. Over the last forty years his work has been supported by the National Institute of Health. And now the country’s ministry of health licensed 10,000 patients to use marijuana medicinally and has approved more than a dozen studies to treat illnesses like PTSD, pain, Crohn’s disease, and even cancer. 70 minutes https://topdocumentaryfilms.com/cannabis-research-studies/

13. The Secrets of Sugar:
The dangerous part is that most of the sugar we eat is hidden in foods that we don’t necessarily think of as sweet. Foods such as condiments, soups, and sausages contain ridiculous amounts of sugar. Could this hidden ingredient be the reason for our expanding waistlines?
Robert Lustig, a pediatric endocrinologist states that if we are to choose which is worst between fat and sugar,  we have to conclude that sugar is a thousand times worse.  He continues to say that our food supply has been altered and adulterated under our noses and in plain sight over the past 30 years.  The fat is going down — the sugar is going up,     and we’re all getting sick. https://www.documentarystorm.com/the-secrets-of-sugar/
