Life’s 4 Spiritual Pillars

Inline image 1Lao Tzu was an ancient philosopher and writer from China, and is also typically dated around the 6th century BCE.  He is qlso credited as the founder of Taoism,  and as author of the Tao Te Ching.  His Followers believe Lao Tzu was able to achieve the highest state of consciousness a human can experience, which has made him more of a deity than an actual man.

Lao Tzu established four spiritual rules of living, or four virtues through which to center your life. He believed that if you were able to live your life in accordance with these virtues, you would be able to achieve a level of wisdom and a consciousness that most people never have the chance to experience. Below are the 4 cardinal virtues, or spiritual rules for living life he laid out for his followers , that can provide framework  for  a  life filled — with inner peace and purpose.which you can find in the Tao Te Ching.

1. Reverence for all Life

This virtue manifests as having unconditional love and positive regard for all creatures     in the universe, starting with ourselves, then this will naturally flow out to all others.

This reverence is for all life, not just some forms. It is honouring all forms of life, and at   its core has an innate spiritual understanding of how the universe truly works – that we are all sparks of the one fire.  When we live  with reverence for all life, we surrender our need to control and to dominate. We naturally come into heartfelt appreciation and also gratitude for all of life. This first virtue is the key to diminishing the ego.

“Affirm this as often as you can, for when you see yourself in a loving way, you have nothing but love to extend outward. And the more you love others, the less you need old excuse patterns, particularly those relating to blame.” Wayne Dyer

2. Natural Sincerity

This virtue encompasses kindness and authenticity. To me, it has a feeling of compassion and an all-encompassing love for all beings.  When we are sincere and act with integrity,  we move towards peace  and inner tranquility.  With clear conscience,  we don’t have the inner niggles over our dishonest actions that can erode a peaceful mind.   Much of these four pillars relate to karma, the law of cause and effect, and maintaining equilibrium and impeccability. This virtue is honesty, simplicity, and faithfulness, says Wayne Dyer.

It is about being true to yourself and walking your talk.

According to Dyer, if you find this challenging, try affirming, “I no longer need to be insincere or dishonest. This is who I am, and this is how I feel.”

3. Gentleness

Gentleness is a deeply powerful trait. Often interpreted as weakness, gentleness is sensitivity, respect, and reverence for all life. Perhaps this virtue can be summed up by   the Dalai Lama who often says; “my religion is very simple, my religion is kindness.”

In life, it is far more important to be kind than to be right, and to be kind rather than important. Gentleness is an umbrella for forgiveness, acceptance and love. It is much like the yogic term ahimsa, or non-violence. When we give up being right and being superior, we start accepting ourselves and others, and so much conflict in our lives drops away.

“Gentleness generally implies that you no longer have a strong ego-inspired desire to dominate or control others, which allows you to move into a rhythm with the universe. You cooperate with it, much like a surfer who rides with the waves instead of trying to overpower them. Gentleness means accepting life and people as they are, rather than insisting that they be as you are. As you practice living this way, blame disappears and you enjoy a peaceful world.” – Wayne Dyer

4. Supportiveness

When we are supportive of ourselves, with kind words, loving actions and self-care,          we are naturally supportive of others. This virtue is the basic tenet of humanity.

We are naturally social beings and, at our core, we want to be with others and to help others. Many experiments show how humans are motivated by connection and will move towards this rather than other things. When we give to others, share and support others, we become happy.  Our lives become meaningful  and our hearts full.  Supportiveness is about service. Open hearted service for the sake of helping others and benefiting others, with no thought to our own gain.  Supportiveness is all about holding space for another, listening to another, and being there for others. It is radical loving kindness in action.

“I love days when it feels easy to find beauty in everything.” (The Artidote)

This quote by the poet, Hafiz, sums it up: “Even after all this time, the sun never says       to the earth ‘you owe me.’”

“The greatest joy comes from giving and serving, so replace your habit of focusing exclusively on yourself and what’s in it for you. When you make the shift to supporting others in your life, without expecting anything in return, you’ll think less about what you want and find comfort and joy in the act of giving and serving.” Wayne Dyer

Let these four virtues fragrance your life, and notice the grace and ease that will come   your way.  For each one of these virtues brings in a way of being that is light, graceful      and flowing and will help you shed destructive,  self defeating patterns  that sabotage     your inner peace and happiness.

“The four cardinal virtues are a road map to the simple truth of the universe. To revere all of  life,  to live with natural sincerity, to practice gentleness, and to be in service to others and  ALSO replicate energy field from which you originated.”

7 Negative Emotions That Actually Have Really Positive Effects On Your Life..

This emotional pain chart will show you how your body reacts to your negative emotions.

We experience an array of emotions every day – anything from happiness to sadness         to extreme joy and even depression.

Our body responds to the way we think, feel, and act.  This is one type of “mind/body connection.” Each emotion creates a different feeling within the body: it also releases different chemicals when we experience various things that make us happy   or upset. Each chemical works to create a different environment within the body.

For example, when your brain releases serotonin, dopamine or oxytocin.  You will  feel good and happy. Conversely, when your body releases cortisol while you are stressed, you will have a totally different feeling. Let’s take a closer look and see what our emotions can actually do to us.

Our brain is extremely powerful and complex

It affects our body based on what it is feeling. The mind and the body are linked, which can’t be seen, but only felt. The quality of the emotional signal that ‘the heart’ sends to    the brain determines what kind of chemicals are released into our bodies and when we experience negative emotions, the signal sent to the brain mirrors our feelings.

While negative emotions are completely natural, they are still some of the most toxic emotions that we can have. Feelings of rage and hatred build up in the mind,  body  and  soul,  affecting the body’s organs and natural processes and breeding   more negative emotions and leading to depression.

Prolonged bouts of anger and negativity can take the toll on the body in the form of high blood pressure, stress, anxiety, headaches and poor blood circulation. Some researches also show that even one five-minute episode of anger is so stressful that it can damage your immune system for more than six hours! In turn, all of the health issues mentioned above can lead to even more serious problems such as heart attacks and strokes.

One scientific study said that the molecules accumulated and exhaled while you verbally express anger, hatred or jealousy, contain toxins that, when collected for about an hour, are enough to kill eighty guinea pigs… Also, when we are feeling stressed, anxious, or upset, we may not take care of our health as well as we should. We often do not feel like exercising, eating nutritious foods or even taking prescribed medications. Abuse of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs may also be a sign of poor emotional health.

The 10 most common negative emotions are:

  1. Anger
  2. Sadness
  3. Jealousy
  4. Hatred
  5. Grief
  6. Isolation
  7. Humiliation
  8. Worthlessness
  9. Anxiety
  10. Conflict

So, how do you overcome all the negative emotions and stay happy and healthy?

There are many techniques to help us deal with negative emotions and a lot of books, articles, seminars and films have been created to explain the importance of this issue.

Here are 5 tips that are most effective under any circumstances.

  • Cutting perceptions as much as possible. After thinking about the negative for     a moment you might realize that there are in fact no positive or negative experiences other than what we define as such. Therefore, our perception of an experience or the situation has the ultimate power as to how we will feel when it’s happening and how our bodies will be affected.
  • Acknowledging anger. Instead of pushing your anger into the recesses of your mind or refusing to admit it is there, be mindful of what you are feeling. If you can admit that you are angry, then you can begin to tackle those emotions and find a solution to the problem.
  • Taking control of your thoughts. It can be difficult to change your way of thinking from negative to positive. A lifetime of habits is a massive obstacle to overcome. Does that mean it’s impossible? Absolutely not! Whether you are 20, 50, or 90 years old, it is never too late to change how you think.
  • Living a balanced life. Try not to obsess about the problems at work, school, or home that lead to negative feelings. This doesn’t mean you have to pretend to be happy when you feel stressed, anxious, or upset. It’s important to deal with these negative feelings, but try to focus on the positive things in your life too. You may want to use a journal to keep track of things that make you feel happy or peaceful.
  • Being grateful. Acknowledging the good aspects of life and giving thanks have a powerful impact on emotional wellbeing. In a landmark study, people who were asked to count their blessings felt happier, exercised more, had fewer physical complaints, and slept better than those who created lists of hassles.

We hope this article and the emotional pain chart helped you realize how important it is to cultivate a more positive mentality.

Also one must Love Teal Swan In this episode, Teal explains that your feeling body (what most people call the emotional body) is the truth of who you are at a feeling level. This layer of you contains the imprints of the emotional aspect of your memories as well as your current emotional state. It is the bridge between your physical self and our thinking self. The feeling body interprets and translates the thoughts projected forth by your eternal consciousness perspective and also by your human perspective into feeling states or “feeling signatures”.
This translation is the first step that takes place in order to enable a being to have a first hand experience of a thought. This enables the thought to be actualized instead of remain abstract. This actualization of thoughts enables us to learn and gain awareness better and faster and this in turn enables personal and universal expansion. Because of the emotional body, man is able to experience their own thoughts. The thoughts are converted into feeling impressions.
The physical body interprets those feeling impressions and as if translating the message, converts those feeling states into the neuropeptides and hormones that cause the physical reactions in our body that we call “emotions”; emotions ranging from fear, anger and stress to love, compassion and happiness.
The feeling body is not an actual body. It is etheric in nature. But it can be understood and visualized symbolically like an actual body (in fact it often is both out of body and in dream time). You can ask to be shown the visual representation of your feeling body in meditation of you like.
With practice, you will no longer need to facilitate an altered state of consciousness like meditation to switch your perspective in order to see the layer of a person’s emotional/feeling body at will. You could observe it as energy, or you could observe it as the representation of an actual body.

In the second half of this episode, Teal explains how to facilitate “integration” of the emotional body.❤ Teal’s web page: http://tealswan.com/

Managing health as one grows older!!!!
By Hari Chand Aneja
Hindustan Times

In 2002, my voice would get hoarse at times. The family doctor immediately referred me to an oncologist. Cancerous cells were getting hold of my voice box. The doctors were apprehensive that they may have to remove it. However, they were able to treat me with radiation and save my voice. In health matters, a stitch in time can literally save nine.
punjab Updated: Feb 28, 2016 09:41 IST

Have you visited the doctor?” asked my nervous father, as I suffered from a cruel cold. We were seated in his office in Tandalianwala in undivided Punjab in erstwhile India in 1930.

When I maintained a guilty silence he counselled me, “The best asset you have is good health. Money comes and goes. Opportunities come, but so do adversaries. With good health, you can always seek riches and opportunities. With a sound body, there is always a future.” Over the decades, I have pondered over his advice and learnt some lessons of my own too.

It is important to take action on the early symptoms of any health issue.

Try to select a doctor who does not merely treat the symptoms with some pills, but also studies the underlying health pattern. It is useful to get the best medical attention that is possible. Going to the best specialists ensures that you access the latest medical developments through them. Now, medical services are becoming increasingly pricey. Senior citizens do not enjoy free medical services in developing countries like India. However, many hospitals and top medical practioners do provide some services ex-gratia.

Having identified a good doctor, it is important to maintain faith in him and be patient. As we get older, our bodies too age. They take longer to respond to treatment. It is important to go through the prescribed programme, rather than be impatient and change doctors or medicines hastily. Give nature and time a chance to heal.

Irrespective of doctors and medicines, it is important to keep a positive attitude when you fall ill. This is as important as the medicines, if not more. A patient must want to recover. He must want to live. And, he should look forward to enjoying life even after a morale crippling ailment like cancer.

However, good health in the later years is not automatic. The design of the human body is brilliant divine engineering. However, one has to nurture the body for sound health and performance in later years. I follow a five-point plan.

Firstly, however, repetitive it may sound, it is best to eschew tobacco-related products like cigarettes. Smoking has a severe impact on the heart and lungs. Second, it is important to undertake some physical activity or daily exercise. As one gets older, even a morning walk suffices to energise the muscles and tissues.

Next, live by moderation. Whether it’s food or fun, one must practice restraint. The spicy Punjabi “samosas” may be delectable. Nevertheless, one must know when to stop the next bite.

Fourth, the adage, “Early to bed and early to rise,” is a prudent policy. I try to get to bed by 10pm every night, so that I can awaken by 5.30am. By 8am, I am shaved and ready to take on the day and spend four hours in my office.

Finally, one must be tranquil when confronted with setbacks. One must genuinely “keep cool!” Negative emotions, loss of temper and anger can create avoidable blood pressure issues. Whatever the calamity, things fall in place after a good night’s sleep. Good times   do not last forever, nor do the bad times.

Thus, good health in old age cannot be taken for granted. It has to be planned for. It involves being vigilant, getting the best medical attention, enjoying life, but also being spartan and saying no to the second helping of an exotic Tiramisu dessert.

Patience, trust, will, prayer: the keys to surviving cancer.

The doctor’s face showed genuine concern. “There is some growth on your vocal cords,”   he said very softly. “We need to take a sample and check it.” He had very gentle eyes.          It is not easy for any doctor in the world to tell his patient that he may have cancer.

For some years, my voice had been hoarse and tapered off in mid-sentence. Some days,      I was unable to utter a word. I went through a succession of meetings with doctors and      a battery of tests.

After that critical meeting with the specialist, I dwelt on the ramifications for many evenings. If the growth were malignant, it might result in the removal of my voice box.        I would never speak again. I would have to write or learn sign language to communicate with anyone.

Countless worries assailed me. What if I am alone and there is an emergency? How do        I ask for directions on a street? And my grandchildren would never hear my voice.  At       75, my eyesight and hands were also weakening. How could I depend only on writing?

The prospect of losing your voice permanently is nerve-racking. The voice of a person –  the sound, resonance, timbre, modulation and pitch – reveals volumes about personality, character and mood.

It was then that I realised that cancer is a lonely battle, which each person fights                on his own.

Since many types of cancers are life threatening, the word itself has become intimidating. A few days ago, I read that a 23-year-old man had committed suicide after he was diagnosed with cancer. I recount my own struggle so that other patients do not give up.

In my fight, I learnt three lessons.

The first lesson was that, although there is intense pain and fear while combating cancer, one has to be infinitely patient. I visited six hospitals in all, many repeatedly. I interacted with eight doctors. Each time you visit a new hospital or doctor, you repeat your agonising story.

There are challenging moments. For instance, I needed a surgical biopsy to be performed under local anaesthesia. But the doctor could not reach the vocal cords through the pipe inserted in my mouth. There was intense pain and some bleeding in my mouth and throat and, after trying for hours, the doctor said the procedure could not be completed. I refused to give up. At my insistence, another doctor was arranged.

That day I spent hours in an awkward position, taking no water, with a dry, parched throat. Finally the sample was taken, but only after four and a half hours.

Then, there is the waiting period to determine whether the growth is malignant or benign. Every second, passes like a millennium. You pray. And the suspense steals your sleep.

The second lesson is that you have to trust your doctors. I did rigorous homework about  to which doctors, treatments and hospitals I would entrust myself.  However,  after the decision, I placed myself in their care with absolute faith. During radiation sessions my entire face was covered, except my mouth.  Which is then Administered under general anaesthesia,  these sessions were gruelling. However, you have to trust the doctors. And remember: it is nerve-racking for them too.

The third lesson is that one must have strong willpower. However exhausting the processes, you have to grit your teeth and just hang on. Sometimes, when the growth         is malignant, the treatment is protracted over years.

A touch of concern from the doctor, the love of your family, an encouraging word           from a colleague, a kind touch from a nurse – all of these buoy the spirit.

And one more conclusive lesson: in our age of technology, the power of prayer is still paramount. This sounds old-fashioned, but from my own experience, prayer does work.

After a surreal fight lasting three years, filled with CT Scans, radiation therapy, laser treatments and surgery, my vocal cords were spared. For me, it has been a miracle to         be able to talk in the years since. Every word I utter is a blessing, every day a gift.

Combating cancer is tough, but it is possible to cope through discipline and courage.  There is urgent need, everywhere, for more cancer research and treatment.

Our world spends trillions of dollars on military machines every year. If some of the money spent on guns were diverted to cancer research, we could prevent millions of deaths. Those priorities have to change.

Your mentality about your circumstance creates how it’s going to go. Any situation can    go either way,  but what we deep down expect to happen??  Usually seems to be what’s happens!!! Expecting it to be awful, to not have a good time or not go your way in way? Results dictate Then you won’t and it won’t! But what if you decide that you will have a good time no matter what or that you will accept what ever happens and let it go,  and    just choose to be happy? Then Damn the situation flow better then, and becomes a lot more bearable!

Don’t bottle up your emotions – it’ll knock years off your life and raise cancer risk by      70 percent

👍🍻👏

Timi Gustafson, R.D. Headshot        How emotions cause dis~ease!!!!

  • Research shows consequences of bottling up emotions are even more serious than previously thought
  • Getting angry increased blood flow to the left frontal region of the brain, which is involved in experiencing positive emotions

Keeping a lid on your emotions has long been thought to be bad for mental and physical health.

Now it seems it could actually knock years off your life.

The latest research shows that those who bottle up their feelings are at least a third more likely to die young than people who regularly express what they are thinking.

Those who bottle up their feelings are at least a third more likely to die young,                 than people who regularly express what they are thinking

A study in the US by experts at Harvard School of Public Health and the University of Rochester shows the risk of premature death from all causes increases by about 35 % among those who fail to say how they feel.

But when the researchers looked at specific causes of death they discovered that the risks increased by 47 per cent for heart disease and 70 per cent for cancer.

The findings, published online in the Journal of Psychosomatic Research, suggest that the consequences of bottling up emotions are even more serious than previously thought.

Researchers studied 796 men and women, with an average age of 44, who signed up to a health survey in 1996.

Part of the survey involved questions designed to assess   how much the participants suppressed their emotions.

This involved agreeing or disagreeing, on a scale of one to five, with statements such as ‘When I’m angry I let people know’ or ‘I try to be pleasant so that others won’t get upset’.

The survey was repeated 12 years later, during which time 111 subjects had died – mostly from heart disease or cancer.

When researchers analysed the emotion scores, they found that death rates were highest among those most likely to bottle up their anger rather than let people know what they were thinking.

It is not clear exactly how suppressed emotions cause premature death.

One theory is that people turn to alcohol, cigarettes or    junk food to help them cope with their hidden feelings.
.

Another is that the stress of keeping the lid on negative thoughts disrupts the hormone balance in the body, raising the risk of diseases linked with cellular damage, such as heart complaints and cancer.

The researchers stressed that the number of deaths in the study was small and that further investigations are needed.

‘These findings reveal significant associations between higher levels of emotional suppression and mortality,’     they reported.

One theory is that people turn to alcohol, junk food or cigarettes to help them cope with their hidden feelings

‘The results suggest emotion suppression warrants more detailed investigation as a possible mortality risk.’

A previous study suggested that getting angry was good     for you because it actually reduced the negative impact          of stress.

Scientists at the University of Valencia in Spain found that getting angry increased blood flow to the left frontal region of the brain, which is involved in experiencing positive emotions and also triggers ‘closeness’.

The right side is more related to negative emotions           and can provoke withdrawal, fear and sadness.

London-based business psychologist Voula Grand said:      ‘It has  long been thought  cancers  are partly the result       of suppressed  emotions.

Past research has shown bottling up anger can impair       the immune system.

‘But although people learn  to hide their feelings at a very  early age, they can still be taught to express them later in life. It takes a lot of energy and effort but it can be done.’

Bottled Up Emotions

Suppressing intense feelings can carry a heavy emotional toll. When letting it all out just isn’t a good option, here’s a healthier way to cope.

It’s Thanksgiving dinner and your crazy uncle has you cornered, describing his rigid political views and offering incendiary commentary on the week’s news. Part of you is tempted to let loose with a tirade of your own, but you don’t want to ruin the holiday or upset your entire family. So you decide to keep the peace by biting your tongue — perhaps the right thing to do for holiday harmony, but potentially stressful for you.

Suppressing emotions is not a good long-term strategy, of course. Among other things,      it has marked negative effects on your emotional and physical health.   But in certain situations — at a party with in-laws, dealing with an irate customer at work, interacting with a difficult coworker — it may not always be advisable or in your best interest to “express yourself” fully.

You don’t have to choose between social graces and your sanity. While you need to    “make a distinction between feeling your feelings and expressing them,” says psychologist Gay Hendricks, PhD, cofounder of the Hendricks Institute and author of many bestselling books, including The Big Leap: Conquer Your Hidden Fear and Take Life to the Next Level (HarperOne, 2010), there are ways to go about it that don’t make you feel inauthentic or send your stress response skyrocketing.

Challenges to Overcome

  • Uncertainty. If you’re taken off guard by an unpleasant encounter in a social setting, you may have no idea how to respond — or you may be unsure if the situation calls for you to express yourself or hold back.
  • Feeling phony. You may feel you’re lacking integrity or inauthentic if you don’t  speak your truth. Or you may feel a moral obligation to express your feelings.
  • The “ready to blow” effect. Any emotion, if held down long enough, tends to become more concentrated, sometimes turning into a simmering rage you may feel frightened of or uncertain how to handle.

How to Cope

  • Be honest — with yourself. “Is it a good idea to express your feelings all the time? No,” says Hendricks. “But in all situations, you can tell yourself the truth.” If you must temper your reaction for someone else, acknowledge internally that’s what you are doing, he advises. “When you hide your emotional responses from yourself, it throws off your integrity.”
  • Name your emotions. Sounds easy, but, says Hendricks, “a lot of the time we don’t know what we’re feeling.” For example, we’ll often react with anger when, really, “we didn’t know how to say to the other person, ‘I’m afraid’ or ‘I’m sad.’” When you have a strong emotional reaction, try to identify your true feelings and reflect on what’s prompting them, instead of unleashing on the other person.
  •  Talk it out in advance. If you know you’re headed into an emotionally charged situation, talk about what you expect will happen with someone else in advance. Describe all the emotions you think might get triggered, says Hendricks. That preemptive conversation will help you stay calm in the moment.
  • Be a neutral observer. When faced with an intractable difference of opinion, look  at the situation as an opportunity to learn more about the other person,   Hendricks suggests. Pretend you’re a sociologist trying, very neutrally and calmly, to understand another species. “If you do something inarguable — if you just listen and ask questions — the other person can’t really argue with you,” says Hendricks. If asking questions feels like a stretch when you really disagree with someone, try neutral, observing phrases, like: “Wow, you have strong feelings about that.”
  • Shift gears. If you’re really stuck, “take three deep breaths and change your body position,” says Hendricks. Changing your body position keeps you from getting frozen in fight-or-flight mode. Likewise, rhythmic breathing quiets the body’s stress response. Try to make each breath four to five seconds long on the inhale and four to five seconds long on the exhale. And then just keep on breathing.

Any serious scientist will be familiar with the assertion that stress causes immuno-compromise. A recent study by researchers at Harvard School of Public Health has finally put this long-held knowledge into perspective, deciphering that those who bottle up their feelings have a cardiovascular disease risk of 140 per cent and a risk of cancer of 170 per cent when compared to individuals who share how they feel.
Overall, the risk of premature death for those who keep their negative feelings to themselves is around 135 per cent that of individuals unafraid to speak their minds. When framed in this way, the dangers of suppressing emotions are hard to ignore, but how exactly does bottling up your emotions lead to real and tangible damage to the body? The article below will explore the molecular and physiological mechanisms behind this startling array of statistics, and provide some helpful tips to managing your rage, and keeping your body healthy!
Although the concrete mechanism linking bottled-up emotions and premature death has yet to be established, several sound scientific principles may be applied in order to elucidate some facts about the forces at work.
Firstly, it is conceivable that those who feel that they must hide their emotions from others are more susceptible to seeking comfort in substance abuse such as alcohol addiction, cigarette smoking, or the use of other harmful drugs in order to relieve their stress. The use of these substances has several obvious and detrimental effects to health, and so needs no explanation here.
The second suspected mechanism is slightly less direct in nature.
When the body is coping with a stress response, such as un-vented anger or pent-up rage, a hormone known as Cortisol is released. Cortisol is a hormone of critical importance to humans, but it also has some unwanted effects in individuals experiencing high levels of stress. Cortisol is a steroid hormone, specifically a glucocorticoid, meaning that it is capable of suppressing the immune system’s response to damage or invading pathogens.
This unfortunate effect means that individuals who have a higher than normal stress level, and thus a raised Cortisol level, will have under-effective immune systems, not only opening the floodgates to any nasty bugs that may wish to make your body their home, but also preventing a complete response from being carried out towards invaders from within – cancer cells. Every day, the immune system destroys a cell that would otherwise have become cancerous, so it’s easy to see how quickly things can go wrong when this response is working below optimum levels. All is not lost, though.
Studies have shown that releasing anger actually increases blood flow to those parts of the brain responsible for pleasure and reward, thus making taking out your frustration a ‘feel good’ experience. However, there are those of us for whom releasing anger at every turn can very quickly end both friendships and careers. Perhaps a change in outlook is the answer?
Conditioning your brain to be more optimistic about everyday situations and into overlooking the minor foibles of others can quite literally be a lifesaver. The statistics speak for themselves, and lend credence to the thought that optimistic people really do live longer than their pessimistic, stressed out counterparts.
Speaking of which, we are about to launch www.tantrumfitness.net – a whole new approach to releasing your anger whilst becoming healthier. So, why not try to LET RIP whilst GETTING FIT?

Till next time

Why bottling up emotions may be bad for you

Let’s begin by rephrasing that sentence. Bottling up emotions       IS bad for you.

Humans experience an array of emotions, anything from happiness, to sadness to   extreme joy  and depression.  Each one of these emotions  creates a different feeling     within the body. After all, our body releases different chemicals when we experience various things that make us happy and each chemical works to create a different environment within the body.

For example:  if your brain releases serotonin, dopamine or oxytocin,  you will feel good and happy.  Convexly, if your body releases cortisol while you are stressed, you will have an entirely different feeling associated more with the body kicking into survival mode. What about when we are thinking negative thoughts all the time?
 ‘
Or how about when we are thinking positive thoughts? What about when we are not emotionally charged to neither positive nor negative? Let’s explore how these affect our body and life.

The Effects Of Negative Emotions On Our Health

Image result for “The Effects Of Negative Emotions On Our Health,”

Much of our emotional experiences consists of negative feelings that, even though             we try to control or hold them down, they hammer through, blustering through the    brain, affecting us and we tend to think there is nothing we can do.  It also produces negative thoughts, feelings and emotions. It disables us to have the positive frame of   mind with what we say and do.

The negativities we absorb would become emotional blockages, becoming our worst  inner-enemies, clotting our minds, keeping us from seeing and responding clearly.             In other words, they weaken our capacity to live our lives to the fullest.

Negative emotions are a disturbing annoyance for anyone.

We also recognized anxiety. Anxiety is a curable condition. There are times you feel         like everything is out of your control, and definitely severe anxiety is not easy to treat        in the sense that you are not going to be able to quickly relieve all anxiety at once.

But all anxieties are probable to be treated,  provided you are willing — to strive for   help,    avoid mistakes, and create smart decisions, and it all depends on how much       you  are willing to relieve yourself from those very bad anxiety attacks.

Even dark emotions that fuel the anxiety fire further, which are garnered by painful experiences, could lead people to dangerous levels of psychosis and this just shows        how dark thoughts alone can lead to immense suffering.

Buddhist meditation would tackle the issues of anxiety differently. It modifies your relationship to your emotions more than the emotions themselves. It permits you to         see mood instabilities,  moment to moment,  so that you can sail across and around      them. The approach appears to be effective. According to a psychologist Zindel Segal, meditation successfully prevented weakening of depression in patients who have had histories of frequent mood disorder.

Through meditation, you become aware with the way emotions arise, how they can     either overcome your mind or disappear without making an impact. Some people    become more calm than others because of yoga and mindful meditation sessions.       Some ideas include nutrition, exercise, and meditation, enjoying privacy or even aromatherapy.

Try these ideas on how to achieve tranquility for you to become more calm and a much happier person:

SELF-LOVING – Always remind yourself frequently that it is tolerable to love and trust your self. Talk quietly to yourself. When you feel down and hear negative things about you, remind yourself that what matters is that you deserve respect and that such negative talk does not have a place in your life. Remember that everyone makes mistakes and know how treasured you are. Tell yourself daily of the good virtues, strengths and beauty that you bring into this complicated world.

CALM DOWN YOURSELF– If you are having a conflict with someone, find healthy ways to immediately release the feelings that you have. Don’t bear grudges when you are angry. Being more open and good about telling people how you really feel when you feel that way is a good start. If you can’t do that, try singing out loud or in your head; any song that you always enjoy. This is a good option when you are really mad and you need to calm yourself down.

MEDITATE – Meditation is a good way to relaxing one’s mind and thoughts, it is where you find yourself in a peaceful place to sit down and turn to your thoughts privately, to   the quietest corner of your mind. Try to focus on the natural sounds around you and let   all your doubts and fears flow out of your mind.

LISTEN TO MUSIC –  Music has a very soothing  effect on how we think.  If you’re   having a hard time calming down, try some calming music. Avoid music with loud sounds or fast tempos, even if it’s music you really like, because this music can actually add to your stress. Just listen to mellow music when you are trying to calm down your mind.

EXERCISE REGULARLY – Let’s work out our energy and tension, letting us to soothe our minds expressively. It also makes us healthier and feels better generally. You don’t have to lift weights or anything that will make you uncomfortable. Just do some squats and take a quick jog around the block.

The ability to manage your emotions and have a positive outlook is a good way to know yourself even more when you are under pressure. If you are in a nerve-racking situation and feel the need to be at ease, just simply divert your attention from the problem or take ten seconds to breathe deeply and let all the feelings sink in, before you can regret anything and think of happy thoughts.

If you try to calm your mind, listen to our Calm Music: Most Relaxing Music,      New Age for Meditation,Yoga,Massage & Deep Sleep binaural beat music       track and surely you will feel better as ever.

How Emotional “Dis-ease” Becomes Physical Disease

Scientists have proven that negativity literally makes cancer grow inside the body

The Following is an extract from my upcoming self-help book Ketheric Well-Being: The Four Dimensions of Chnage

Our body can express some of the more painful memories as aches and pains, which can develop into dis-eases such as diabetes (lack of sweetness or joy in life), hypertension as the name suggests: prolonged unaddressed tension in our lives; etc.

I suggest that you browse Heal Your Body, The Mental Causes for Physical Illness       and the Metaphysical Way to Overcome Them,  by Louise Hay;  if you have not done so already. I have had excellent results with my clients who have come aware of what their physical symptoms mean, and changed their beliefs about life has helped them resolve quite a few of their physical symptoms sometimes instantaneously!

“Our intimate relationships, more than anything else, are a testing ground for our feelings and emotions. They are the catalyst that can make us feel on top of the world

or in the depth of depression. How do we cope with these strong feelings and emotions?

Our intimate relationships are a mirror of our general level of consciousness; they    show us how well we are able to manifest our ideals in everyday life[1]”.

We have a choice, either to suppress our emotions, and hurt our body; or turn these suppressed and ignored emotions into feelings of guilt, fear or anger without even realising that we are doing so. The better alternative is, of course, to address our feelings, look them in the eye; and to try and understand their message.

This understanding can bring new insights and possible resolution to a life situation through which we can grow.

In her discourse, “Taking Charge”, Caroline Myss writes “Emotional energy contributes to the formation of cell tissue, and forms an energy language which carries literal and symbolic information. In this way, your biography–that is, the experiences that make up your life–becomes your biology. Your body contains your history–every chapter, line and verse of every event and relationship in your life. As your life unfolds your biological health becomes a living, breathing biographical statement that conveys your strengths, weaknesses, hopes and fears.”

The Case of the Diplomat

During the first few years of my practice, I met a very intelligent and charming client who was in her early sixties and had a remarkable career in the diplomatic corp; until her husband divorced her and married her secretary! Naturally she felt angry and resentful.

Over several sessions, and no matter how much guidance she tried to receive, her focus remained on how to avenge herself. Her anger and bitterness did not allow her to contemplate a better future for herself without her ex-husband.

From her point of view, she felt and strongly believed that she was socially rejected and irreconcilably humiliated. Although she moved countries and tried to start a new life, her shame, anger and probably the fear being able to build a better (or different) future, slowly consumed her body. Within seven years or so of her divorce, she sadly developed cancer and died.

Over the years, I have to come to recognise an unfortunate “emotional dis-ease” pattern with several of my clients, including family members. When repressed emotions are ignored over a prolonged period of time festering feelings of stress, anger, revenge or a “sense that life is unfair”; they will affect the chemistry of our body and eventually turn into a disease such as cancer.

Scientists have proven that negativity literally makes cancer grow inside the body[2]. “Let us start with the impact of staying angry, being frustrated or feeling negative about an event. Dr. Steven Standiford, chief of surgery at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, says that holding onto these negative emotions creates a chronic state of anxiety. This produces a predictable excess of adrenaline and cortisol, which deplete the production of natural killer cells. These cells are your protection against cancer. If you refuse to forgive, it not only makes you sick but can keep you that way… If you think of an old memory of being mistreated, hurt, or offended you automatically start to feel unwell. The fact is that there are immediate emotional and/or physiological responses that occur when you are having these memories. These responses include:

  • Your blood pressure increases
  • Your muscles tighten
  • You start to swell

The improvement of blood pressure and cardio-vagal tone is yet another benefit of forgiveness. Researchers have been able to show that forgiveness has a cardio-protective effect on the heart. While anger, is cardio-toxic, which damages the heart muscle.”

It is time to let go of past grievances and to feel lighter. By freeing yourself from the past; you can create space for a brighter present!

It`s hard to try to balance out the duality of this world.

I know some people are hypersensitive to negative thoughts, images, attitude and are physically shaking and nauseous from upsetting stuff that they have read 0r seen.

When people come at me with bad news, I do end up sort of feeling dulled down, and out of body.

I’m working on not letting something as simple as a newspaper article stick with me all month. But that’s part of illness I bet. People without  illness might be able to get over a disturbing online post or article in a few hours. It will stick with me for a week or more.

The Art of Health / Kim Knight does not diagnose illness, prescribe restricted medicines, dispense medical advice or ‘cure / heal’ any person.   Kim embraces all healthcare approaches and feels there is a place for all healthcare modalities.  Kim believes it is up to us as individuals to discover which approach(es) will work for us, which may involve using more than one approach.

In Kim’s experience a state of disease is a state of unease (‘dis-ease’) which is best resolved by addressing the totality of the   individual who is experiencing the condition, i.e.  by taking into account environmental / social factors, mind, emotions, physical, lifestyle, behaviors, habits etc. which have resulted in the condition, rather than focusing only dealing with the manifested end-results (i.e. the symptoms or health condition).

Cancer we all know what it can be in slight instances genetics, the chemicals we breath, feed on  and come into contact with.  But,  often  which  is  overlooked  psychological stress  and  emotional disturbances  that can cause blockages and communication errors amongst our cells.  “We are entering in to a new paradigm of understanding the consciousness and its relationship with the brain and beyond.

If energy is neither created nor destroyed,
Then what happens to the energy within our bodies and brains when we die?
In The Immortal Mind, Ervin Laszlo and Anthony Peake  provide a concise and lucid overview of the data for consciousness beyond    the brain. Exploring a revolutionary new mechanism of consciousness-brain interactions using the principles of modern science such as quantum physics and string theory,  this book is a welcome addition to the current paradigm shift of consciousness and a great asset for any student of the subject.”

“In this important and well-written book overwhelming evidence is provided for the continuity of consciousness after physical death. After reading this wonderful book it seems obvious that we are and always will be instantaneously interconnected with each other, because our eternal consciousness will never end; it is beyond time and space. We are then forced to reconsider the never proven hypothesis that the brain produces mind. Highly recommended.” (Pim van Lommel, M.D., cardiologist and author of Consciousness Beyond Life)

“Hands down, this is the best collection of evidence from near-death experiences, apparitions, after-death and medium-transmitted communication, past-life recollections, and reincarnation ever put together. Laszlo and Peake skillfully weave all of this into the deeper dimensions of consciousness and creation, what many call the Akasha, to establish the immortality of the soul and the purposefulness of the human experience. Real, irrefutable evidence.” (P. M. H. Atwater, L.H.D., author of The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZyadsvYfUE

If we see baby bunnies burning alive in a lightning-started forest fire or being eaten alive by a pack of wolfs, both seem as equally cruel deaths. We have an urge to try and stop or look away from both even though both are processes of nature at work such as we are. Why is our consciousness sometimes in rejection to nature when we are also a part of this nature; which is telling the truth, nature or our consciousness? Is the pain these bunnies endure just another another form of evolved biochemical by-product of the material world resulting in non-material illusory; or is it a deeper glimpse into a real non-material consciousness and of awareness of a true reality outside of mater?

What is “cruelty”? Is “cruelty” no more than just an “illusion” higher beings’ experience    via “empathy” that has “evolved” over time within our genetics as it’s by-product?  Is “empathy” just a mere result of novel genetics and biochemical reactions that have evolved over millions of years or is it a glimpse of a real “truth” via some greater level of our non-material “consciousness”? Is there more truth revealed in higher levels of non-material consciousness? If not, is non-material consciousness just a more complex by-product of illusion evolved as a result of the “real” material world like from genetics? Can we find truth in the material world by using our non-material consciousness? Which is more real then, the material world or our non-material consciousness experiencing it?

A universe at rest stays at rest, unless acted upon by a outside force. Similarity of the universe as it applies to Newton’s first law of physics. The longest standing knowledge in this world bases this theory around a figure. God or a higher power. (which has neither been proven or disproved) This God was the force acting upon the universe to begin our existence, as we know it to be. The following information will compare not similarity of mathematical and physics equations, but looking for the deeper purpose of what these strong holds of knowledge pertain to in accordance to life and our inherent purpose of existence.

It’s interesting that Albert Einstein decided to name his theory, the theory of relativity.       I believe that Mr. Einstein’s famous Special Theory of relativity applies to more than the speed of light, more than mass,  more than energy. If energy can neither be created nor destroyed, this theory would then apply to humans since we are made up of this energy. His special theory described how light and matter changed energy as they traveled relative to space-time. So knowing this knowledge, I began to analyze the human life cycle, there is a beginning to life just as there is a beginning to the universe.
.
I began to think about how both cycles (the universe and life) have the common similarity, which is a beginning.
.
This is where the comparison gets harder, as far as we know; death is the end of the life cycle. But the universe, it has seized to yield similar results as of yet. Now this is where the inconsistencies begin for me. In using a comparison of the life cycle to the universe, I can either deduce that the universe will eventually end, or what we see on earth as death is only a misinterpretation of what happens to the energy with the body, (energy, which cannot be destroyed only transformed.)
Did Einstein unknowingly prove life beyond death?!?! This is a theory of everything

The final Theory of relativity.

Relativity – a thing having a relation to or connection with or necessary dependence on another thing (similarity, for if you only have one of something to compare, how can you compare?)

In order to refute Isaac Newton’s 1st law of physics to the relevancy space outside of earth, one would have to prove a source of all force. Meaning, you would have to be able to say that a object at rest in space cannot truly stay at rest because of the always consistent force of gravity. My interpretation would be that there must be one specific force, which draws all objects near. With out that force, there would be a place in space were an object could rest without the force of anything. Proving Newton’s 1st law relative.

The relevancy of this argument deals with the theory of creation. How, without a force acting upon something, can it truly begin?, then start it’s purpose whatever it is. Beginning. In order for something to start, it must be acted on by force.

So, even if we had the building block of the universe, something would had to have set it in motion to begin.

So, as far as we know the outside force is yet to be defined.

From this information above, this is where I deduce my theory.

So, since people have been dying for billions of years, and the universe has yet to end.
.
I deduce that in the cycle comparison, death is not the end, 1it is simply a means of travel towards a different source. 1 it is simply a transformation period in which the energy of the body transforms to something else. This is where one cannot assume the destination of travel since we do not the know end of our universe, or if there is a end. And we do not know the outside force which started the universe.
.
So, when the body dies, the energy stored with in the body is released and transformed since it is energy (which can neither be created nor destroyed). Part of my explanation for the transformation has to do with the energy changing to a light principled-based form. Once the body transforms the energy to this alternate form, I believe the principle of travel within the realm of 186,000 miles per second squared becomes relevant. Hence, the body transforms from energy to a light based form. Essentially releasing our energy to travel to whatever destination we are meant to travel to.

How To Supercharge Your Spiritual Growth!!!
Deborah King
Deborah King
New York Times best-selling author, health & wellness expert, and spiritual teacher Deborah King was a successful attorney in her twenties when she was diagnosed with cancer, which began a quest for healing that would radically change her life.
.
Extremely Reluctant to undergo invasive surgery, she turned to alternative medicine and experienced an amazing remission at the hands of a healer. Along the way, she conquered the alcohol and drug addictions she had used to bury a childhood of emotional and sexual abuse. She realized that ignoring problems and unresolved emotions all her life had led her to the point of turmoil, addiction and illness.
Through her subsequent journey, Deborah learned ancient energy healing techniques, dove into a serious practice of meditation, and transformed her life. Her amazing recovery led her to leave the corporate arena for the field of energy medicine, where she mastered ancient and modern systems, ultimately developing a powerful technique of her own. Deborah’s energy healing and life coaching courses both teach and transform.
In my work as an energy healer and spiritual teacher, I often talk about the importance of chakras, which are focal points in your body that move energy in and out between your personal energy field and the larger unified field beyond. In order to maintain your physical, spiritual, and emotional health, it is essential to keep each of your seven chakras clear and open, spinning gently in the right direction. But there is another key point in your body that also affects your health and well-being: your thymus.   http://www.healingenergy.com.au/what-is-energetic-healing/

Why do you need to know about your thymus? The thymus gland is part of your immune system and helps to fight off illness, but your thymus is also the seat of your spiritual development. With an activated thymus, you can supercharge your spiritual growth.

Your thymus gland is located between your throat chakra in the middle of your throat, and your heart chakra in the center of your chest. If you feel where the two sides of your collar bone meet below your throat, there is a space or a little dent. Right below that, you may find the thymus with your fingers—a small rounded spot that is slightly raised. If you can’t feel yours, don’t worry! Every body is different, and the size of the thymus changes as you age. Whether you feel it or not, rest assured that your thymus is there and ready to be activated.

When your thymus is activated—or open and expanded—it sends a message to all realms that you are working in service of love. It becomes like your personal spiritual “signature,” a sign that tells the cosmos you are on the path of light. An activated thymus can change your life. Here’s how: The Witches Rule of three dragonfly CLING by cherrypieartstamps, $7.50:

1. Receive Initiations to Higher Spiritual Levels

A spiritual initiation is a step on the path to reconnecting with Source. There are many steps, or levels, and the process does not happen overnight. With continued self-work and self-care, including meditation and journaling, you can complete lower level initiations on your own, sometimes without even knowing. An energy healer or other facilitator is usually needed for higher level initiations. However they occur, initiations can only take place when the student is ready. Expanding your thymus is one way to help prepare your body and energy field for spiritual initiations.

Charging and expanding your thymus will open the door to the unified field of energy that encompasses the entire universe and everything within it. You will then be able to focus your attention on connecting to the masters of the universe and entities on higher planes. There are no shortcuts on the path to Source, but an activated thymus is like a head start or a boost.

2. Awaken Your Inner Healer

Did you know that you possess your own unique spiritual gifts? You may not be aware of them yet, but activating your thymus will bring them to light. Maybe you’re incredibly patient and can really listen to others, or maybe you can see or hear things on another plane. Or perhaps you even have the gift of energy healing like me! Whatever your special talents may be, activating your thymus will awaken them. If you discover you have the healing touch, literally, please join me at one of my healing courses or workshops so you can cultivate that gift and learn to perform powerful energy healings. An activated thymus is an excellent foundation for the practice of energy healing or a career in energy medicine.

If your unique gifts don’t immediately reveal themselves, continue to put your intention toward expanding your thymus. You can even tap on it, gently, while imagining a soft pink light surrounding you and envisioning your thymus opening up, connecting you to Spirit. 3. Stay Healthier and Heal Faster

Your thymus is not just influential in your spiritual health, but is necessary for your physical health as well, as an important part of your immune system. The thymus is a lymphoid gland that plays a vital role in the production of T-cells, which are some of your body’s best warriors in the fight against bodily intruders like viruses.

Like your chakras, your thymus can get clogged by negative emotions. When your thymus is overwhelmed with unexpressed emotions, you might get sick more often or feel generally tired and weighed down, no matter how much you rest. When your thymus is activated, it is charged and healthy, which means your immune system is charged and healthy, which means you fall prey to fewer illnesses and heal faster when you do catch a bug. You will also have more energy. That alone might be a life changer!

Now you know how this gland you’ve probably never really thought about can have such a huge impact on your health. Activating this key point can do wonders for your spiritual growth and development and effect change in your life in a profound way.

If you’d like me to activate your thymus, take a moment and watch this FREE video where I do just that! You are energy. Your entire existence is the purest form of light. Even when you get sick, your body was designed to self-heal – a process which is known as energy healing.

As far as the spirit goes, while it can be affected by certain diseases, it is far more durable, yet harder to heal.

A lot of people choose to go to talk therapy for many consecutive years. They are a bit blinded by what society tried to impose, by what the norm is. If you’re one of those people, you may have realized by now a surprising fact.

Any type of talk therapy can help you identify the problem, but it will not be able to tell you how to fix it or how to heal it.

Energy healing doesn’t just help you overcome problems affecting your body. It also lights a spark inside of you. It shows you the truth and the path you were destined to walk on ever since you came into existence.
You have to  love with all my heart, all your soul and spirit, with every fiber of my entire being. Together we can make this world a much more harmonious place.

If You Do …You will experience:

  • Increased level of awareness
  • Deep & loving connection with you
  • More confidence
  • Heighten creativity & enhanced brain function
  • Happiness will become your natural state
  • Anxieties will disappear
  • Re-Connecting with your inner-child
  • An increase in positive thoughts
  • Lower stress levels
  • Increased vitality

Energy Healing is all about accepting that you are an energy being. A being that is much more complicated than just a physical body. A being that exists in multiple dimensions at the same time. Accepting and understanding this, we can then utilise various techniques to restore your energy flow to the optimum balance across all those dimensions.

How can this be? The concept of each of us existing simply as energy is not a new idea. New understandings in science have changed  our perceptions of what we are made of. Atoms which were once considered as the smallest particles that ever existed are in turn made up of subatomic energies, which have no solidity at all.    Science tells us they are quite literally, packets or waves of information that vibrate.

This information or energy is in fact light, which is adapted to create our Biofield.                If you have any doubt you are an energy being, then watch the Dr Jill Bolte Taylor       video My Stroke Of Insight, in this a 19 minute presentation wherein Jill describes          her perceptions of reality when a stroke blocks her analytical thinking.

At the forefront of the self-help field, Hay has become a Matriarchal figure to many now in the business of self-help. In the 1980s Louise Hay self-published You Can Heal Your Life, a book that has sold over 30 million copies to date, and spurred her on to build her own publishing company ‘Hay House.’Taking the philosophy one step further, Louise Hay has stepped along with the information age and put the theories behind her book into a complementing DVD with  the same name.  I think the book  and the DVD  would probably work best hand in hand;  the book for reference once it is read, and the DVD as a frequent reminder when watched of the powerful resources  we hold in our own hands.  Louise Hay has gathered some of the best self-help teachers,  most who have seen Hay  as a guiding light in their own lives,  to explain the thoughts behind You Can Heal Your Life.

Very similar in format to The Secret, this DVD is easily digestible information that is both empowering and constructive. Author of The Erroneous Zones Dr Wayne Dyer, The Angel Lady Doreen Virtue, Life Makeover teacher Cheryl Richardson, Dream Interpreter Leon Nacson, medical authority and author of Women’s Wisdom Women’s Bodies Dr. Christiane Northrup, and medical intuitive Mona Lisa Schulz, along with a handful of other spiritual intellectuals, all give their perceptions on the philosophy that our “thoughts and our actions can equal miracles” as Richardson states.       http://www.veoh.com/watch/v17030504WsgTbfQm

The root cause and effect of beginning to research cancer in March 2006 was trying to help cancer patients overcome chemotherapy.   I seen it’s trials and tribulations of the dreadful disease when my father and countless others had side effects and not one oncologist had answers to help them reduce the misery. Chemotherapy and radiation without supplementation is barbaric and inhumane!!!
When I began watching Your Health Tv I learned quickly that when Dr. Richard Becker  was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 1997. During this time of crisis,  he and his wife Cindy immersed themselves in the world of natural healing. Their extensive research led to the formation of BIO INNOVATIONS and creating the synergistic combinations found in the BioNutrients brand of dietary supplements, Presently,  Dr. Becker is still currently in remission and in good health.

In 2016, Olympic figure skater Scott Hamilton was diagnosed with a brain tumor for the third time. But, after some drastic lifestyle changes and a renewed faith, Hamilton claims he was the recipient of an undeserved miracle.
.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Hamilton explained that the pituitary tumor he had been diagnosed with has shrunk without any treatment.

“The nature of them is to grow, and without treatment, they have no reason to shrink,” the 58-year old said. “So I was the recipient of a spectacular miracle. I’m keeping an eye on it, and there’s no treatment needed at this time.”

Hamilton’s healing left many wondering what changes he made to his lifestyle that would have helped things along. The Olympic gold medalist revealed that one thing he did was clean up his diet.

“I realized things like that love to feed on sugar, and I go, ‘I don’t really want to do anything to give it anything it wants.’ So I just decided to give up sugar,” Hamilton said. After three months of clean eating, a new scan showed that the tumor hadn’t grown. “So I stayed with the program, eliminated all the unhealthy stuff.”

In addition to improving his diet, he focused more on his faith, increased his water intake, and added supplements and essential oils to his routine.

“It was quite miraculous what happened. I never anticipated that at all.”

Even the doctors had no explanation for Hamilton’s improvements.

When he asked his surgeon to explain what had happened, he only had a one word reply.

“‘God.’ That’s it,” Hamilton said. “I was just a blubbering mess, like,            ‘I’m not worthy of this.’ There’s so many other people out there who could benefit from this miracle.”

Thereby,  Scott Hamilton Refused to Let his Third Brain Tumor Diagnosis to Keep Him From Enjoying Life!!!  Outside of  his family, Hamilton has been touching the hearts of thousands through motivational speaking engagements and his Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, which raises funds for cancer research and provides support and resources    to cancer patients.

“The Cares Foundation started out here in Cleveland as a Cares Initiative. What I  to do was thank the Cleveland clinic for giving me my life back,”   Hamilton explains.  “But he knew there were gaping holes in the cancer community.  So he went online to find out what I needed to know about testicular cancer  and  all  he found were medical journal papers with twelve-syllable words, five to a sentence …
So he created ChemoCare.com, which is everything you need to know about chemo therapy in 8th grade English and Spanish. Every drug is listed.  With Every side effect is  listed.  It’s an amazing accomplishment. Also Its sister side is RadCare.org, which is everything about radiation therapy.”

Hope Dealer: Mallory Davenport

✌🏼👋🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

I Credit Hope Dealer: @ Mallory Davenport

Welcome to the Hope Dealer series!  The super-heroes featured in this series are incredible people who have chosen fortitude over fear and grit over giving up.

Very often, they’ve also chosen laughing over lamenting.  When the s*** hit the fan

and came tumbling down, they picked up a shovel and got busy.

Today I share with you Mallory’s incredible story.  Mallory and I met in 2014 at “cancer camp” ( First Descents ) where she was know as “Poot” and I was known as “Happy Feet”.  We’ve been fast friends ever since.

Always radiant Mallory!

Take me back to the moment you heard the words that forever changed your life: “Mallory, you have cancer”.

I remember that day so vividly.  It was September 15, 2011.  My husband Jack  and I       used to travel all over the U.S with our jobs, and we happened to be working in Frederick, Maryland at the time. I had been sick for a while but thought it was stress due to the high demand of my job. I mean – at 26 years old you don’t expect to get a call telling you you have cancer. But, that is exactly what happened. It was a Monday and I had already been told the previous Friday by the doctors office they couldn’t find anything on the biopsy they had taken.

The doctor explained that they had another pathologist look over the biopsy results and abnormal cells were found. Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer cells to be exact. I had no clue what lymphoma was!  My first thought was “What do I need to do to fix this?” I didn’t     cry at the time because I don’t think I really grasped what I was facing.

I had to go back to work after I was diagnosed. I remember not wanting to tell anyone because I didn’t want pity or to be treated differently by my friends and colleagues.

It    was a few days before I was scheduled for my scans. During that time I Googled Hodgkin’s Lymphoma all day everyday. I wanted to understand what I was up against.

Aside from the shock of that moment, can you tell me about the hardest thing you had to power through physically?  Mentally?

In the beginning the hardest part was that I had JUST married my soul mate.  We had a beautiful wedding. I had a great job for someone my age. We traveled all over the place. My life was just beginning. Then the cancer diagnosis came along and was ripping it out   of my hands.

I was very scared that Jack would not want to be with me because I had cancer and I  would lose my hair during treatment. I felt like he didn’t sign up to have to take care of a sick wife. He reassured me, even to this day, that he didn’t say our vows just to say them.  He meant them – He would be by my side in sickness and in health.

I was also scared that I would die and miss out on life with my husband. That I would   pass away and be forgotten. That was probably the hardest thing mentally that I had to overcome and it took a long time to conquer it.

Today, I am dealing more with the physical than when I was first diagnosed. Treatment was very hard on my body. I went through a lot of chemo, high dose chemo, and a stem cell transplant.  I’m a very active person.  I don’t think there is a day where I don’t have aches, pains, or numbness somewhere.  My 30 year old body feels 60.  However,  I take everything as a challenge so I work hard on overcoming any obstacle my body gives me.

Fighting hard

From where did you draw strength?

Getting diagnosed with cancer started my journey through the dark night of the soul. I didn’t  understand why God was putting me through this. Jack gave me a book called “St. John of the Cross- Ascent to Mount Carmel” while I was going through chemo. I really didn’t read books of that nature because I could never understand the meaning behind the words. One night I couldn’t sleep so I got up and randomly started reading this book. The words spoke to me, like they could see inside my soul and knew how I felt and what I was going through. After that night, I knew God was preparing me for something bigger than I could understand at that time. All my strength through this entire journey has come from the Lord. He has blessed me beyond belief!

Did you find humor anywhere?  If so, tell me about it.

Humor is the best medicine for anything. Jack and I find humor in very dark places! I wish I had kept a notebook from my chemo days because I don’t remember all the stories due to my chemo brain. I think having a sense of humor and good attitude really make a difference when you are fighting a deadly disease.

Was there a particular moment when you chose fortitude over fear? Or did you just have continued grit throughout?

Yes, there is a particular moment my journey took a different direction. It was 2014,             I was 2 years out from my stem cell transplant. I went to MD Anderson for my six-month scan. I’ve always had that stubborn tumor under my arm that did not go away and chemo tends to aggravate it.  However, my team of Doctors at MD Anderson ,,, were hopeful the stem cell transplant would take care of what the chemo couldn’t. Also My doctor became concerned because this tumor was starting to slowly grow again.

They did another biopsy to determine whether it was still Hodgkins Lymphoma, which it was. Then they discussed more treatment and another stem cell transplant but this time with a donor cell. I had already made my mind up months before that I would not do any more treatment. My body was really struggling from the treatment I had already been through. I was under 100 pounds, there was no way my body could make it through another transplant.

I didn’t want to do that kind of intense treatment ….for this one small spot that would       only become more aggravated by the chemo. I really had to think about my quality of life.  Radiation and surgery were not an option due to my age and the type of cancer I have. My mom was with me for this appointment and she already knew that I wasn’t going to do any more treatment. I had been researching alternative treatments since the beginning of my diagnosis.   I explained to my mom that I was going to try a natural protocol and see how it goes.

I guess I should have been more upset that they had just told me I still had cancer and needed more treatment, but I wasn’t. I wanted to put my research to the test. I also had a cancer survivors rock climbing trip coming up ( First Descents ) and I wasn’t going to let cancer get in the way. Thank God I didn’t because thats when I met the most amazing person, who has turned into a role model for me, the creator of this site- Natalie.

That was my turning point. I know longer feared cancer.

Mallory and Jack

Was there a particular moment when you realized, “Yep.  I am a badass.”?

I spent over a month in the hospital during my stem cell transplant. There was one night that I turned for the worse. My nurse found me unresponsive on my hospital bed. My oxygen level was at 47 percent. I remember waking up to numerous nurses surrounding me. They had hooked up all these wires to my chest and they were giving me oxygen.

I had no idea what was going on and I couldn’t speak. The chemo had caused my mouth and esophagus to swell so bad I was unable to speak, eat, or drink for almost two weeks. About two years after my transplant when the chemo fog lifted, I was thinking of my time in the hospital and what I had been through. It was hell, but I had made it through. That was the moment I thought, “I made it through hell…I’m a badass!” I almost didn’t make it out of that hospital but I did. I refused to give up.

Did you have a helpful prayer, mantra, or meditation? A fight song or playlist?

I had all at some point during my journey but to get me through the really hard times –        I listened and read all of Sir Winston Churchill’s speeches.  I treated everyday like I was going to war because everyday I was fighting to live. Prayer of course was a huge part of my life as well.  Meditation came after all my treatment was over and has been a huge    help mentally and physically.

Tell me about anything in your life that is better because you once heard, “Mallory, you have cancer”.   Was any light able to seep in because of those cracks?  Did it illuminate something you didn’t know was there before?

Honestly everything in my life is better since being diagnosed with cancer.  When I look   at pictures of myself pre-cancer days,  I just don’t know that person anymore.  I’m totally different. The old me was focused on unimportant material aspects of life and not actually living life. I don’t take life for granted like I did before.  I’m actually living and enjoying every little thing life throws my way. I even enjoy the hard times that test me, because it helps me continue to grow into a better person.

Is there any effort that you would like to highlight?

Yes, a fundraiser for my friend Cierra who is facing a lymphoma recurrence.
