Nationalism versus Fascism

Consider this, for instance. Atheists are very strong advocates of separation of Church & State, yet the separation of church and state meme is itself a Christian meme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You were quite confident of your opinion on separation of church and state, and I bet others would like to know how well informed you are. Of course, would be nice to get to more interesting things like examining the difference between the West and the Islamic world and what influence Canossa had in that regard.  I am willing to admit that I know nothing of Canossa.

Any reference material you could recommend would be appreciated.

Anyway, the point is that this is a political group and not a religious group.
Hence debating what the separation and church means, what it should mean, how it should be implemented etc, is obviously fair game. And, as I said much earlier, I don’t even mind discussing at times more purely religious things.
But when a religious-metaphysical discussion goes on for over 12 hours that’s problematic, because this is not a religious group. The question is whether you’re a liberal or not, not if you’re Christian or atheist. We should be opposed to religious and atheist tyrants.

Referenced above: Tom Holland. Popular historian. Tells dramatic narratives. Contrarian The main point is that if we want to discuss separation of church and state one needs to really start with early Christianity and track its evolution, with Canossa being a major historical marker. And if you haven’t figured it out yet, atheists even more than christians are in desperate need of understanding that history. It’s the atheists that are typically the most confused.

Our increasingly secular society would probably know that if the academics themselves weren’t so fanatically atheist, which causes them to dismiss even the history of Christianity. I was always taught the original intent was to restrict the government from interfering with the Church but the loudest atheists seem to feel it was meant to restrict the Church. Again, again, and again, the extremes meet on the extremes, not in the middle. So Atheists, as always, have much in common with the religious fanatics they despise.

Not only is this a political and not a religious group, but bringing up religion, which is generally based on belief and not science, inevitably highlights fissures within the liberal camp, this when totalitarians are seizing power. Again, feel free to start a religious group
if you like. It is mostly leftwing atheists who are leading the charge against postmodern racist communism actually.

Now consider that. That’s interesting, isn’t it?
Btw, I’m sure some socio-cultural evolutionary theorists, or just historians etc, have pointed out that the separation of church and state is a Christian meme. Perhaps Tom Holland himself does. I can’t remember. But it would be interesting to know more about that. There are probably some articles on it if anyone wants to start digging and post on it.
I must admit, I just now even considered the fact that we often have the Ten Commandments in courthouses with the fact that separation of church and state is a Christian meme, which is to say Christianity basically invented and endorsed the idea.

And then one should also consider how Muslims fit in America and its separation of church and state with that in mind. Of course, Islam explicitly rejects the principle of separation of church and state, although that does not mean all or even most American Muslims reject it. Needless to say, most Medieval Christians did not really believe in the separation of church and state. And don’t forget to consider the Reformation and Wars of Religion and Thirty Years’ War of course, not to mention the fact that the Pilgrims were heavily influenced by that. Etc etc.

All of that and more needs to be considered in order to understand what our founding fathers meant by the famous passage in our Constitution. And note that the New Left thinks our Constitution is racist and wants to get rid of it.
Yet there is a tradition of Christianity amongst African Americans.

But there is also a more recent tradition of both atheist and Islamic radical leftwing politics within the African American community as well. It’s a meme (idea) war.
Survival of the fittest. And there’s some overlap between Christian beliefs
(at least for some Christians) and Socialism and Communism of course.

Liberalism is a pragmatic ideology. And it shouldn’t control the government.
The idea is that the religion should not control the Government, nor the Government control religion. Not that they had no place in the same society. Oh, and don’t forget that European countries are much more secular and atheistic than us yet they have official state religions. In that case, Europeans’ statist meme is apparently more powerful than their separation of church and state meme. Socio-cultural evolutionary theory is an incredibly effective analytical tool,

Classical Liberals unlike the founding fathers ..,
Today’s liberals would burn everything in an Antifa riot and call it peaceful.
Today’s meaning of separation of church and state is very different from its original intent and is harmful to the long-term viability of the nation. There is no such thing as an actual anarchist, and historically most self-described anarchists were actually anarcho-communists. So, you may want to keep your eye on that. You could see the Libertarian Party leaders and their media demonstrate this after the death of GF.

They all focused on so-called police brutality and hardly ever criticized BLM.
That’s self-described libertarians becoming communists whether they are conscious of it or not. I suspect most are not conscious of it and just REALLY naïve. You mean like you an libertarianism? Was that principle true during WWII? No. The problem with authentic libertarians is that they are Rousseauians at heart and believe in his myth of the noble savage and don’t realize that government is what enables liberty itself.

There are religions. And there are ideologies.
Now liberalism is an ideology, but it’s also full of paradoxes and a paradox in itself.
Its ideology is, in a sense, the absence of an ideology. It accepts complexity and nuanced, pragmatic policies that, unlike the ideologies, does not even pretend that they are panaceas and 100% applicable in all cases whatsoever. And that’s also why it leans towards liberty. But libertarians have made an absolute imperative of liberty, which destroys liberty itself. It also, btw, has an paradoxical achilles heel, which Karl Popper identified as a paradox. – Bing video

25 Umberto Eco Quotes to Inspire You to Write Your Own Story (goalcast.com)

Yeah, just in your link above he has a lot of stuff that is very relevant to what’s happening now. I was reading about him on Wikipedia and they mention semiotics and pataphysics…
I feel like I’m way above my pay grade. Which one is your favorite?

See his quotes.  Name of the Rose is a worthy read.

Name of the Rose would be good to start with. It’s a mystery set in a medieval monastery. Gripping, I quite like this quote- “People are never so completely and enthusiastically evil as when they act out of religious conviction.” Also, this one- “Because learning does not consist only of knowing what we must or we can do, but also of knowing what we could do and perhaps should not do.” We are formed by little scraps of wisdom” is good too! And the ” fear prophets” quote too. Sure! Glad you liked them. As I said I used to wallow a lot in his books when I was younger and cleverer! “For the enemy to be recognized and feared, he has to be in your home or on your doorstep.” This one is a little close for comfort.

The REAL Story of January 6 – An Epoch Times – One News Page VIDEO

Following the first “unarmed insurrection” in the history of history on January 6th, and the blatant dismissal of anything that so much as innocently questioned the legitimacy of the November 3rd “election” I said no mas.  That propaganda arm of the American far Left was not going to push me around while using me to generate ad revenue for another minute.  “I tend not to imagine nefarious conspiracies in dusty dark corners.
I tend to see ordinary imperfect human beings and ordinary human institutions,
acting too often with greed, fear, and with messy self-interests.
The Deep State is not Democrat or Republican. It doesn’t wear a trench coat, and it doesn’t linger furtively on street corners at midnight in Washington, D.C. In truth, and perhaps most startling, the Deep State doesn’t hide at all.”

Has anyone heard of a political ideology called “Traditionalism”?
With midterm upon us, candidates and pollsters are increasingly focused on how voters could impact the future political landscape of the United States. The House of Representatives, which is currently controlled by Republicans, could shift in favor of Democrats. This means that people are paying more attention to how liberals across the country will vote in November.
In particular, analysts are turning their attention toward metropolitan areas that Republicans in Congress currently represent, including California’s Orange County as well as Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia, Miami, New York, and Minneapolis. These seats are considered to be vulnerable, and increased voter turnout could easily decide an election winner.

Using Gallup data, Stacker ranked each state first by the percentage of residents who identify as liberals and then by the percentage of residents who consider themselves to be liberal-leaning. If both percentages were the same for more than one state, that ranking was considered to be tied, and is noted as such.
Nationally, 24% of Americans identify as liberals, while 33% of Americans identify as conservatives and 36% identify as moderates. Read on to find out which states are most likely to house a Democratic voter—and which states are the ones to watch on Nov. 6.

U.S. election 2022: Live results and maps – Reuters

IMHO, after looking at many of the results I am amazed at people’s stupidity.
Apparently life in Democrat controlled states just has not gotten bad or painful enough for their residents yet. Well, the destruction of the Republic will only speed up. Get ready. Until more people wake up to this third world reality that we’re having stolen elections, the sentiment will be that “it hasn’t gotten that bad for them”. Or that the under 30 are that dumb. While that can be true for some, I don’t believe it’s what we’re seeing. It hasn’t gotten that bad for any of us to actually fix this election issue. No red tsunami. Perhaps a red ripple with their RINOs.

The video is an interview of Benjamin Teitelbaum, author of “War for Eternity – The return of Traditionalism and the Rise of the Populist Right”. On the surface, it would appear to be closely aligned with conservatives, however their desired end is anything but. Where we want to see the constitution preserved, their goal is to see anything based o n the Enlightenment destroyed and replaced. Had its origins in the early 1900’s and is global. Is also referred to as the “Traditionalist School”

The People Who Pray for the Apocalypse | Benjamin Teitelbaum | The Glenn Beck Podcast | Ep 102 – YouTube
Just so everyone knows, I’m not a reactionary conservative. I’m not trying to hit the brakes on progress. Glen Beck is pretty out there. He babbles a lot in conspiracy theories and talks about a lot of stuff he doesn’t have a clue about. And he’s not an effective defender of conservatism. He recently got his clock cleaned by Eric Weinstein because Eric was able to talk circles around him without Glenn even understanding what Eric was saying. Frankly Eric didn’t understand what he himself was saying a lot of the time too, but you have to know your stuff to challenge Eric.

Science is a basic part of my professional life, though it is applied science (I am an engineer by training), though what is put forth as science today often lacks the rigors of peer review. And even with past science which has been peer reviewed, there is always a possibility of discoveries which may extend or negate things we have accepted with the knowledge of the past. It is what keeps science interesting. I don’t have a problem with vaccines, per say, but some of the past constituents used as carriers or preservatives are worrisome, as a layman.

I think the biggest worry I have today is…. these liberal mental midgets voting in all those thieves and people with no brains into New York’s political world and now they have completely gone off the deep end… the state is destroyed …
I moved to one of the best states with one of the best Governors and I hope they don’t mass exodus out of New York because they see they fucked it up and come here and vote those same retards In ….Here in my State of Ohio … has been wide open since the beginning. Its thriving and beautiful no One is dying and catching COVID and if they are … they recover immediately.

My experiences with doctors does not help much in that respect, as all too many carry arrogance to an extreme, and some of the newer ones are more interested in what the laptop screen tells them instead of what their own investigation tells them. I have seen some conditions resolved with a few moment’s conversation with the patient that others allowed to persist for weeks as they did not have that conversation.  Hillary Scott & The Scott Family – Thy Will (Official Video) – YouTube
