I practice yoga for a handful of different reasons, mainly for my mental well-being ~ but the shapes that we’re capable of making with our bodies has always captivated me.
With years and years of practice it’s fascinating that we can create so many shapes & expressions with just our bare vessel ~ it feels like creating art.

The last few months have been anything but sunshine & rainbows~ Surviving Hurricane Ian (growth isn’t meant to be comfortable though, is it?).
Above all I’m grateful for the abundance of love & opportunity that continues to grow & surround me.
Sometimes Ya just got to throw your hands up, and say, fuck it – I’m just going to show up exactly as I am.
Too often we spend so much of our energy putting together these masks that hide our struggles or challenges, but what’s incredible to me is that even on our worst days, we have the power to share words or energy that can uplift someone’s entire day, simply by channeling through whatever we’re experiencing within. It’s incredible to me that I can be in such a low state of being or feeling a mess inside before / while teaching yoga – and still on those days students will tell me how wonderful it was for them, sometimes even giving me better feedback than the days when I’m in my highest states of being.
This year I learned how to say no.
This year I learned how to choose me.
It sounds pretty simple in logistics right?
But I’ll encourage you to seriously ask yourself:
Can you unconditionally choose what’s going to be best for you in any given moment-
Even when there are forces asking you to do the opposite?
Even if it feels uncomfortable to say no?
Even if, by you saying no, it strikes a reaction or a let down of someone else’s wants?
Whether you’re a woman finding yourself in a position with a man who’s trying to push things a little bit faster than your comfortable with – OR vice versa – hey we’ve all been there.
Or finding yourself in a situation that doesn’t feel aligned with your values in a work or social setting
Or feeling the need to cancel on plans you’d made a week ago because you are exhausted, and your body is asking you for rest instead
I’m sure all of you have found yourself in circumstances where there’s pressure applied by family, or friends to show up in a certain way, or perform certain duties that are just not in alignment with what you actually need, or are capable of providing.
Am I right?
And how do you feel when you force yourself to show up or to do some thing that is not in alignment with what you need to feel nourished and at peace in that moment?
Pretty shitty right? Drained? Exhausted? Overwhelmed? But how do you feel when you say no to the things that are not aligned with your needs, your priorities, your wants?
Pretty damn liberated, right?
This is where our power to BE the creator of our lives is.
In the Sovereignty of saying no to what we don’t want.
No to overextending yourself No to being uncomfortable And choose what feels right for you instead.
So I’ll ask again: Are you willing to choose you, to choose what will nourish you, and give yourself what you need in any given moment-
Even if the rest of the world is asking you to do something else?
And is choosing your peace worth causing some waves, to say no when you want to say no?
Are you willing to choose you, even when the rest of the world is asking you to choose everything else instead?

and personally I don’t think I have the energy to blow into trying to engage uplifting energy through social media any longer.
So today I’m saying goodbye to things that do not serve me on my highest path, and that includes the energy wasted through this silly little portal of illusion.

I stepped onto the path of serious manifestation a little over 3 years ago right at the start of 2019 when my father passed 9 days after my birthday. Back then, I took it upon myself to investigate telekinesis. I had read SOME things about it; but it was so small scale; and I just KNEW there was more to it. Yes, I started seeing 11:11 back in 2011 as well. I told my girlfriend about it because it was so obviously strange! She just thought i was being weird and said “maybe you should look up what it means!” So, as I did, I was shocked that I wasn’t the only one and not nuts after all! A few years later, I started seeing 76 everywhere and these two numbers have been dominant in my life ever since… cool stuff!! Oh yeah, I just was looking at my birthday a few months ago and discovered I was born at 11:11 at night in the year 19”76” so I definitely think it’s an awakening of your inner power!

I have been seeing 11:11 on the clock, along with 1:11, 11:17, and others for over 15 years. I found out then it was a connection with the Universe. I also get other signs I’m connected, little coincidences to do with words. I might see an unusual word in a crossword, and then hear it or read it soon after. I know the Universe knows me, and that I love words! But the numbers, too. I am always happy to see multiple numbers on license plates, like 111, 222, or numbers that add up to 11. I do that while driving! (Haha.) my birthday is a 29, which adds up to 11. Lots of fun.

I appreciate you standing up to make a difference. Nothing wrong with being positive, however positivity (or negativity) in itself is not synonymous with self honesty, as it can be used by ones mind as a mask within the idea that one is better than/less than another. Often it is an evasion of responsibility as we have all feared to address the real source of the problem (i.e. self judgment) thus creating a distraction from the actual physical solution as creating what is best for all life – in spite of positive/negative reactions. An example of self-forgiveness – I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that positivity will solve the problems of this world.

Thank you for this insight. I have started seeing 1111 a lot lately and it feels kind of strange. My band and I just produced a song called Ballad for the Soul by The Servants of the Soul – YouTube and this phenomenon has occurred much more frequently since we have been working on this song and produced it.
Many will think you’re nuts when you tell them this or speak of seeing numbers. Even those with “faith”. I started seeing 11:11 (amongst other number patterns ie. 12:34, 10:10, 4:20, 1:11, 4:56, 12:12) more and more frequently at the tail end of 2021. I didn’t think much of it at the time, however the nature of how often it happened was disturbing at first (am I losing my mind I thought). As the year progressed, toward August I started seeing these signs more and more frequently. Without question this event would happen in less than 3 days time. My wife was the first person I said anything to, she paid it no mind and thought it silly at first, but as time progressed she had noticed the frequency especially around mid-summer. Time continued on, and it had almost become a game within itself at this point.
I would not miss unintentionally seeing or glancing at this number every single day of the week. To the point I had joked with my wife about not seeing 11:11 Thursday morning at work. The day went on; and sometime in the afternoon, I cycled my watch menus, and as I cycled through, step counter, temperature, altitude, timer, stop-watch, there it was UTC time 11:11. This number sought me out. I seriously laughed. Friday came, and I was sitting around the table with my wife having a discussion, when she said Hey, look at my phone, Unsure of what I’m about to see, my eyes see instantly 11:11. ”
I kinda chuckled and said “babe don’t get involved in my nonsense” knowing darn well at this point in my own state of deep consciousness, there is more to this physical world than we can possibly comprehend. Saturday was almost a direct repeat of Friday, Sitting at the table with my wife talking, and she attempted to show me her phone, I got up and left the room in joking, but serious humor in an attempt to avoid seeing this number, but…..the Coffee Pot, there it was 11:11. In my mind I was thinking “is it possible the powers that be are now using someone else to ensure I see this sign”
**Side note**: as of just glancing down on my desk; my phone reads “12:34“. Sunday the 16th came, a day that will indeed stick with me forever. We slept in until almost 9:00 ish(pretty rare with a 2-year-old). We all get up, mosey about, have coffee, breakfast, and work. I check my phone sometime around 10am and see my neighbor’s text about having someone outside their house at 11 sometime that night. I told them I would download camera footage and see what I could find (an odd thing to note about footage; there was a time lapse, where for some reason my NVR stopped recording at the 11:11 minute, how is that for odd), while I didn’t see the actual time 11:11 that morning, I did see 11:11 from that of a different aspect.
Time has no bearing on these numbers of which we speak and see. Well at this point it was about noon. I hadn’t seen my Dad yet this morning (he comes in for Coffee most mornings, but not as often on Sunday’s. I figure I’ll go inform him of the intruders, and to keep his stuff locked up at night. As I usually do upon approach, I yell “Hey Dadio”, but with no reply. Him not having great hearing, I check the greenhouse , and he’s not there. I walk into the trailer and before I can get a word, I see what nobody wishes to see, but the inevitable part of this world in which we live. My father as I knew him had passed away.
A day has not passed other than 1, that I hadn’t seen 11:11. As a firm believer in God and that of Christ (or call it what you prefer), there is undoubtedly a channel of energy (both good and bad), that fills the empty spaces around us, something science, nor the non-believers can explain or comprehend. Something not of this world. It brings peace knowing at least 20,000 other people can relate to this phenomenon, and that in my own state of mind and consciousness, that there is without question; no matter your religious, or spiritual beliefs, something far bigger and far grander than just the life and time in which we live. I am someone who believes strongly in integrity and loyalty, and by-no means a liar of any sort.
My friends and colleagues I am sure would attest to this statement. Since my daughter’s birth in Jan of 2020, injuring my back in mid 2021, and having back surgery early 2022, throw-COVID in the mix, and now the loss of my father; I’ve humbly prayed and meditated a lot, more so than ever these last few years. As someone who prayed for signs to “let me know you’re there”. I have to follow my intuition on this one. GOD’s divine love is with us if we choose to accept his calling.

Chapter two of Bhagavad-gita explains that the symptom of the soul’s presence in a physical body is perceived as individual consciousness. Anyone can understand what is spread all over the body: it is consciousness. Everyone is conscious of the pains and pleasures of the body in part or as a whole. This spreading of consciousness is limited within one’s own body. The pains and pleasures of one body are unknown to another. Therefore, each and every body is the embodiment of an individual soul, and the symptom of the soul’s presence is perceived as individual consciousness. In the Puranas as well as the Upanishads this soul is described as a spiritual atom of the size of one ten-thousandth part of the upper portion of the hair point. “When the upper point of a hair is divided into one hundred parts and again each of such parts is further divided into one hundred parts, each such part is the measurement of the dimension of the spirit soul.” [Svet. 5.9] “There are innumerable particles of spiritual atoms, which are measured as one ten-thousandth of the upper portion of the hair.” [SB ]
Therefore, the individual particle of spirit soul is a spiritual atom smaller than the material atoms, and such atoms are innumerable. This very small spiritual spark is the basic principle of the material body, and the influence of such a spiritual spark is spread all over the body as the active principle of consciousness. In the same way as medicine influences a person by spreading throughout the whole body although administered locally; similarly this current of the spirit soul is felt all over the body as consciousness, and that is the proof of the presence of the soul. Any layman can understand that the material body minus consciousness is a dead body, and this consciousness cannot be revived in the body by any means of material administration. Therefore, consciousness is not due to any amount of material combination, but to the spirit soul.
In the Mundaka Upanishad the measurement of the atomic spirit soul is further explained: “The soul is atomic in size and can be perceived by perfect intelligence. This atomic soul is floating in the five kinds of air [prana, apana, vyana, samana and udana], is situated within the heart, and spreads its influence all over the body of the embodied living entities. When the soul is purified from the contamination of the five kinds of material air, its spiritual influence is exhibited.” (Mundaka 3.1.9) The hatha-yoga system is meant for controlling the five kinds of air encircling the pure soul by different kinds of sitting postures–not for any material profit, but for liberation of the minute soul from the entanglement of the material atmosphere.
So the constitution of the atomic soul is admitted in all Vedic literatures, and it is also actually felt in the practical experience of any sane man. Only the insane man can think of this atomic soul as all-pervading Vishnu-tattva. The influence of the atomic soul can be spread all over a particular body. According to the Mundaka Upanisad, this atomic soul is situated in the heart of every living entity, and because the measurement of the atomic soul is beyond the power of appreciation of the material scientists, some of them assert foolishly that there is no soul. The individual atomic soul is definitely there in the heart along with the Supersoul, and thus all the energies of bodily movement are emanating from this part of the body. The corpuscles which carry the oxygen from the lungs gather energy from the soul. When the soul passes away from this position, activity of the blood, generating fusion, ceases. Medical science accepts the importance of the red corpuscles, but it cannot ascertain that the source of the energy is the soul. Medical science, however, does admit that the heart is the seat of all energies of the body. Such atomic particles of the spirit whole are compared to the sunshine molecules. In the sunshine there are innumerable radiant molecules. Similarly, the fragmental parts of the Supreme Lord are atomic sparks of the rays of the Supreme Lord, called by the name Prabha or superior energy. Neither Vedic knowledge nor modern science denies the existence of the spirit soul in the body, and the science of the soul is explicitly described in the Bhagavad-Gita by the Personality of Godhead Himself.

If you are wondering about heart transplants, the soul is in the region of the heart, not embedded in it. If you replace a defective heart with a new one, the soul continues to act through the new heart. It’s similar to sitting in a room on a chair, and someone comes in and replaces the old chair with a new one. You get up for a moment and then sit down again. From shastra, the examples are of Daksya and Ganesh who were the same people after changing heads.

It is impossible to describe where the soul is in the body because, in our world we have only an animate soul, and not a spiritual soul. The animate soul is a force that sustains us at the animate level, i.e. in desires for food, sex, family, money, honor, control and knowledge. No organ in our body is capable of feeling the soul. Many people believe that the soul is somehow connected to the body or to the brain, ascribing brain activity to the soul, and it is because they lack a clear perception and sensation of the soul. What is the soul, i.e. the spiritual soul? The soul is the desire that perceives and senses the Creator, i.e. the upper force of love, bestowal and connection. In other words, it is a desire that enjoys with the intention to bestow. You can replace everything in the physical body, but that has no influence whatsoever on spirituality. Spirituality means unity with the quality of love and bestowal. It is nonexistent in our flesh and blood bodies, but needs to be developed while we’re alive in these bodies until it reveals as a new sense, one with which we can feel the spiritual world.
Where is the soul located? Soul is located in your heart. You can do this small exercise. Touch your hand and ask yourself whose hand is this? Similarly, do it for your nose, eyes, legs, stomach and so on. Now look at the mirror and ask whose body is this? You will get an answer: it is my body. Thus you can make out that you are not the body. Now ask yourself who is the ‘me ‘ in my body. Or rephrase it to ‘Who am I really if I am not the body?’ ‘Am I the mind?’ You can even feel that my mind is different from myself like ‘my mind has gone crazy’. So you can conclude you are not the mind. Now with this understanding that you are not the mind or body try to find the origin of ‘I’ where it is coming from. Try to touch the ‘I” with your fingers in your body. You will see that you will touch your heart/chest region. But in spite of touching the heart you know that you have not touched yourself. You are deep below your heart. That you are the soul who is situated in the heart of this body.
This body is a machine you are using for moving around and enjoying the world. Now that you have figured out you are the Atma, or soul then enjoy the happiness of this self-realization that you are not this body :))

Soul is just a point in your body. It resides in one of the following seven places in your body called as energy chakras: Soul in the 1st chakra (Root chakra)- People like criminals, beggars, terrorists who are nuisance to the society, their soul resides here. They are like parasites. They are mere takers and they do not contribute anything to this world. Soul in the 2nd chakra (sacral) – Normally these people won’t do any harm to others, but will do it when provoked. Then, they will rationalize their act by blaming other people or circumstances. They are not of much use to the world. They have a lot of thoughts of negativity, fear, anger, etc. Soul in the 3rd chakra (solar plexus).. These people live only for themself. Will not trouble anyone. They are independent. But are selfish. They will always want themselves to be on the priority list. They feel they can succeed only when somebody fails. Soul in the 4th chakra (heart) – These people live for themself and then, if possible they live for the benefit of others also. After their wants are fulfilled, they will take efforts for fulfill other people’s needs. They share their excess resources with others. 5th chakra ( throat) These people give importance to other people. But also give a lot of importance to themself. They work in a win win situation where they do such acts for others, wherein they are also directly or indirectly benefited at the same time. They are contributors to the world. 6th chakra ( third eye) These people live only for others. They sacrifice their desires for the desire of others. They play the role of a parent to everyone by spreading love. They often experience miracles and most of their needs are met because of their alignment with the source. 7th chakra ( crown) These people are saints. They heal others. Their presence influences people to take action. They have a positive aura. They are role models like Prophet Mohammed, Jesus Christ, etc who changed the world. They serve the masses.
Their life is a blessing for this world. Identify where your soul is standing in your body. Your purpose throughout this lifetime should be to raise the position of your soul, wherever it may be right now. Endeavor to take your soul to the next level from where it is right now.
If by soul is meant our alter-ego, then, it does not exist. Neither is there any soul as a visual and a physical entity, in a humanoid form, existing after the human being dies. It is just a fantasy, a concept and a fable. It is only believed in and propagated by isms and cults which have utterly, badly failed to advance enough metaphysically to get the Ultimate Reality as is. However if by soul means the cosmic principle and presence which is the source and substratum of the life within us all, well then, it exists. Since you have asked me this question specifically, I shall answer it as I personally, from self-experience know it. It is not easy to do. But I will try to put it in words as simply as I can, without compromising with the truth. I will not do so, tell you about the what-how-why of the soul, from any inherited or assimilated knowledge from somewhere.
Neither will I talk about it from the belief of my own ancestrally handed down faith, nor from any stone age superstitious lore of other isms. Or as gathered and gained from some kind of traditional bookish sources. And especially not from the imagined, mind-made hallucinogenic process of the mambo-jumbo of any ‘spirit channeling’ as such. I have no use for this kind of secondhand knowledge. One must not credit the same, the handed down notions of mystical matters, with much.
The ultimate metaphysical reality which the ascetics, seekers, yogis and free mystics etc. of the world have throughout the ages sought and self-realized, it is a very, very personal self-experience. From this first-hand knowledge of the Beginning and the End is henceforth laid down the unchangeable comic principle and precept.
And what is this unchanging, perpetual First Principle of Things That Be?
It is that each and everything that you see or do not visually witness, in Essence all of it is but an indivisible whole of an infinite unity and eternity. This is to say that in every which way, in spirit and in substratum, all existence is forever one.Therefore the self-experienced and metaphysically confirmed permanent, primordial first principle of the Absolute is that there Whatsoever Is, it is an infinite, eternally unified, indivisible Oneness of the Whole.
This is-ness of One Whole, by virtue of the very fact that it exists, just because ‘It’ is, it sires the quintessential substratum of All That Is. As say fire, by merely existing, will generate and birth the phenomenon of smoke and heat.
From the above said original fathering source and mothering substance of the Cosmos is each and everything born or brought into existence. It is the ‘make’ and ‘matter’ of whole existence. It is the god particle, so to say.
In all simplicity the same may be termed the Universal Soul. Its continuous, eternal and indivisible core and crux also exists within us. One may call it our soul. That is, if one so insists on calling this knowingness or it-ness as that.
‘It’, the universal is-ness or soul and spirit, is the ‘That’ of All-ness. So, where does this so-termed soul lie within our body? Before we get to it let us be clear that what we refer to as soul is neither an entity nor a thing of this or that kind. Know also that after the bodily death of a human being, it, the so-called spirit or soul, does not continue to exist as a human-like resemblance akin our own. This kind of assumption and assertion is only made by people of those isms and faiths which throughout centuries have not been able to get out of the quagmire of the silly superstitions handed down to them by their simple-minded ancestors. Thus the soul in the human entity may be said to be kind of a sublime mystical and metaphysical code to What Is. Again, it is not some ‘thing’ or identifiable entity as such. Alternatively, it is the quintessential cosmic key, in Essence, to the Infinite Unity and Eternal Oneness of the Universal Is-ness. In a manner of speaking, this eternally gifted is-ness in each of us is just a cosmic code. Call it soul if you like. It may be said to be the unrecognized and unrealized ‘son of God’ present within us all. The yogis call it kundalini. It is said to be sleeping or lying dormant, unless awakened, in a serpentine form at the base of the spine.
Is kundalini the soul? No. But it, kundalini, when fully awakened, is that which finally reveals the ‘That’ of Which Is – the Universal Soul: God in common parlance. It is through this yogic ‘son of God’ that the Father (First Principle of All That Is) is known. It, kundalini, this mystical serpent or son of God when ‘lifted up’, is seen to rise up through the ‘narrow gate’, along the spinal cord, in a serpentine or snake-like form. It is creamish-yellow in colour. As indeed is also the colour of the spinal fluid within the human spine. This it-ness of soulfulness, as time passes, is actually and physically seen by the awakening consciousness of a yogi or Buddha-to-be, to sort of disassociate itself from the human body at near about the place where our heart is. So, does the soul lie at the heart center? Well, not exactly. The it-ness of life which ‘comes out’ from the human body, after kundalini has awakened, is not seen to be centered in or emanating from the heart. It is but merely observed to separate itself from the human entity near about here. Once out, it, is a kind of a reference point in the air as if. It looks at the meditating form of the yogi. And scrutinizing and comprehending the situation thus, it realizes that it is outside of the body, as something else. And hence, is not the body.
Thereupon, the meditating seeker, if karmically blessed, after withering many a mystical astral traveling as though, will in time reach the ‘That’ of What Is. That is, it, the is-ness of that-ness finally meets its fathering principle. Hereof the Buddha-to-be realizes that ALL is IT. That is to say that in its Fundamental Cosmic Essence, it is realized by a worthy yogi or a ‘chosen’ devotee that “I and my Father are One!” And “I am in the Father, and the Father in me!” In other words, in this supra real happening, the Son meets the Father. Herein each and everything in and of the Cosmos is physically and personally seen and self-realized by the Awakened One (Buddha, so to say) as the Self of the Whole.
When the blessed yogi, this Enlightened One, having been thus truly blessed and fully ‘awakened’ to the Ultimate Reality, ‘comes back’ to the point of origin – of the earthly human entity mediating – the following process is observed:-
Firstly, consciousness returns, from ‘That’ to ‘this’. Then life-energy reverberates, sort of coming along with it. Thereof is seen the ‘breath of life’ coming back, at the throat center. Lastly, is seen the physically ‘born again’ bodily form of the mystic.
Hence, there is no physical soul as such. What exists within us humans is just the seed or ‘son’ of God, or the ‘first born’ pf the Alpha and Omega. It exists within us, as say the wave does so within the ocean. The separation of the wave from the ocean is just observed as a visual phenomenon. It is not actually happening. t is an illusion. Just a play, so to say. It is because in reality nothing is happening to the essence of both the wave and the ocean. For they both remain forever one, as water i.e. H2O. Therefore it may be said that all that exists is but One Whole. Call it God. Or Universal Soul. And the Absolute: as a Divine Oneness of an Inseparable Infinity and Eternity. We, and the seen world, are but a mirage within the Whole! The visible universe, akin the out-pouring heat from the fire, is merely a divine play of the cosmic energy with and within its own Source. At no point in time is there a separation of the sired from the source. Of this from that! Of Creation from Creator. Of the Son of God from the Father. Of the Soul from the Universal Soul. In short of you from God!
With this pristine metaphysical knowledge or ‘Virgin Mother’ of the ‘Son of God’, may we all find the ‘Heavenly Father’. Within. For the within and without are One. In conclusion: Sorry! You and I are not a soul. We are the Whole. ~_~
Mathias Broeckers, born 1954, is a German investigative journalist and the author of more than ten books, most of them related to the topics of drugs, terrorism and deep politics. He works for the daily German newspaper TAZ and the webzine Telepolis. In His book, “JFK: Staatsstreich in Amerika” (“JFK: Coup d’Etat in America “), was published this August at Westend Verlag in Frankfurt, Germany. Lars Schall: Mr. Broeckers, a writer who authors a book about the assassination of John F. Kennedy that does not follow the verdict of official history faces the problem of being condemned on an instant basis as a “conspiracy theorist” who engages in “conspiracy theories.” May I ask you at the beginning of this interview to explain to our readers that those critics – consciously or unconsciously – are acting exactly according to the “playbook” of the CIA?
Mathias Broeckers: In January 1967, shortly after Jim Garrison in New Orleans had started his prosecution of the CIA backgrounds of the murder, the CIA published a memo to all its stations, suggesting the use of the term “conspiracy theorists” for everyone criticizing the Warren Report findings. Until then the press and the public mostly used the term “assassination theories” when it came to alternative views of the “lone nut” Lee Harvey Oswald. But with this memo this changed and very soon “conspiracy theories” became what it is until today: a term to smear, denounce and defame anyone who dares to speak about any crime committed by the state, military or intelligence services. Before Edward Snowden anyone claiming a kind of total surveillance of internet and phone traffic would have been named a conspiracy nut; today everyone knows better.
LS: What do you see as the prime motive(s) to get Kennedy killed?
MB: To make a long story, which I elaborate in the book, short: JFK had made definitive steps to end the cold war. He had denied the involvement of the army in the Bay of Pigs invasion, which he had inherited from his predecessor, he had solved the missile crisis in Cuba through direct and secret contact with the Soviet-leader Khrushchev, he had ensured a nuclear test-stop with the Soviets, and he had ordered the withdrawal from Vietnam. All this against the will of the military, the CIA, and even against many members of his own administration.
LS: If one looks at the crime from the perspective of “motive, means, opportunity,” which groups are the most likely culprits? Some of the usual suspects may have had a motive, but neither the means nor the opportunity, right?
MB: Yes. This is a crucial point with many JFK theories. A lot of people had motives, be it the hardcore commies in Russia, China, Cuba, be it the Israelis because of JFKs dismissal of nukes in Israel, be it the Federal Reserve because of his idea for a new US dollar backed by silver, the mob because of his dismissal to invade Cuba to get their casinos and brothels back, the racist Southerners because of his engagement for civil rights… but no one of them had the means and opportunity for the murder and above all the means to cover it up over the years.
LS: Which party had the necessary components of “means and opportunity” available?
MB: Only the CIA and the military – and the FBI and the Johnson administration for the cover-up. A moment after the shootings, a policeman ran up to the grassy knoll, his gun pulled out, and stopped a man there, asking for his ID. The man showed a Secret Service card and the cop let him go. Several other men on Dealey Plaza also showed genuine looking Secret Service IDs when asked by cops – but there were no real Secret Service men placed on the knoll and the plaza that day.
These IDs were fakes, but the FBI and the Warren Commission didn’t investigate this at all. Only in the 80s it came out who was responsible for the printing of Secret Service IDs and passes at that time: it was the CIAs Technical Division, headed by Sydney Gottlieb of “MK Ultra” fame. This fact alone rules out that the mob or the Russians, Cubans, Chinese or some other autonomous killers did this on their own bill. And even if these groups would have been able to fake genuine looking Secret Service IDs – the fact that this deception was not investigated, immediately brings Hoover’s FBI into a top-position of suspects.
LS: One crucial point regarding the cover up of the crime is the false autopsy report – also, in connection to “means and opportunity”. Please elaborate.
MB: The ARRB (Assassination Records Review Board) established beyond any doubt that the autopsy and x-rays, which are in the National Archives, were doctored. No mobster, bankster or Cuban would have been able to do this. These fakes were done at the Bethesda military hospital, where JFKs autopsy was supervised by Curtis LeMay, the Joint Air Force Chíef and one of JFKs keenest enemies. He was at a fishing vacation when the Dallas shooting happened and flew to Washington immediately – not for any military emergency but to sit in the autopsy room – and smoke a cigar! The faked pictures and x-rays, which were presented to every investigator since then, are a main reason why the crazy magic bullet theory could hold for so long. Only the military, where these pics and x-rays were taken, was able to arrange these fakes and place them in the archives.
MB: Also, thanks to the ARRB there is a lot of evidence that the film was tempered with on the day after the assassination. However, even the existing “original” seems to show clearly a shot from the front, the grassy knoll – so the fake wasn’t perfect. That the Warren Commission was shown only a bad black/white copy indicates that the perpetrators were aware of that. That the Zapruder film was bought by the Time/Life publishers – and kept secret to the public for years as the Nix-film bought by UPI and disappeared – indicates the guiltiness of the media in the cover-up.
LS: Coming back to the CIA, do you think that the CIA had separated itself from governmental oversight during the 1950s and 1960s, or would it be more correct to suggest that the Agency actually was a ploy of financial interests from the outset? Or more bluntly spoken: was democratic oversight ever intended?
MB: In general, democracy and intelligence services are antagonists; democracy depends on transparency and intelligence services on the opposite. So, the democratic / congressional / governmental oversight is always a quite rotten compromise. The CIA’s camouflage from the beginning was that it is a service to gather intelligence – and centralize the intelligence gathering of the different other services – to keep the president informed. The main job of the CIA were covert operations, and because such operations depend on “plausible deniability,” it was usual from the beginning to inform the president – if at all – only minimally. Since the CIA’s “father” Allen Dulles was a Wall Street lawyer and his brother John Foster ran the foreign policy, covert operations were a family business done by the Dulles-Brothers and their clients on Wall Street. This is what JFK tried to finish and what marked him to death.
LS: You´re citing investigative journalist Joseph Trento, saying about former CIA director Allen Dulles: “Dulles had decided not to leave the future of the Agency to Congress or the President.” What made Dulles powerful enough to risk such a decision?
MB: Dulles’ clients were bankers and big corporations, who were in big business with Nazi-Germany in the 30s and even during the war. Some of them, like Prescott Bush – George W.’s grandfather – were indicted for “dealing with the enemy”, and Allen Dulles, head of the OSS in Switzerland during the war, arranged a lot of these dealings. He arranged the secret integration of Nazi spy chief Reinhard Gehlen and some hundreds of his SS officers into the US army and the building-up of the CIA apparatus. Between 1945 when the OSS was dismantled and 1947 when the CIA was founded he did this privately – without any official position – from his office at the “Council on Foreign Relations.”
LS: Would it have been more appropriate if Dulles would have been interrogated with regard to Kennedy’s death, instead of having been the mastermind behind the Warren Commission?
MB: It’s a perfect irony, or better: huge cynicism, by the puppet of Texas-oilmen, Lyndon B. Johnson, to have Dulles masterminding the Commission. But since it worked out so well, they tried it again, this time unsuccessful, to have “Bloody Henry” Kissinger masterminding the 9/11 Commission. In my opinion Dulles is one of the main suspects in the Kennedy murder and should have been prosecuted immediately.
LS: How did both the CIA and the FBI mislead the Warren Commission in various ways?
MB: The result of the Commission was clear from the beginning, the Commission didn’t do any investigations at all, and it depended on the data given by the FBI. Hoover knew about the many fingerprints of the CIA in the case, he knew that they had brought up fake evidence of Oswald’s visits in Mexico to blame him as a communist – and concluded only two days after the shooting that there was only the lone shooter LHO.
Hoover hated the Kennedys, especially his boss Robert F Kennedy, and was the main evildoer in the framing of Oswald and the cover-up of the case. The CIA arranged the false evidence for what Peter Dale Scott (“Deep Politics and the Death of JFK”) called Phase 1 of the cover-up – the “communist”-connection, which enabled Johnson – screaming of the dangers of a nuclear war – to press the commission members to take part, and to make sure Phase 2 of the cover-up and the result of their pseudo-investigation: the deranged lone nut Oswald.
LS: One usual suspect in the “JFK conspiracy literature” is the mob. In your book you’re writing that it doesn’t always make sense to distinguish between organized crime and the CIA. How did you come to this conclusion?
MB: From the “Luciano Project ” in 1943 – the help of the imprisoned mob-boss Lucky Luciano with the invasion of Sicily – the mob became the tool of choice for covert CIA-operations and generating black money from the drug business. Wherever the US-military set their boots in or the CIA is doing “regime changes,” drug money is essential for financing these operations, from SouthEast Asia in the 60s till today in Afghanistan. And since Langley can’t sell the stuff directly over their counter, they need the mobsters to do this – and get its share to finance warlords / freedom fighters / terrorists…
LS: May I ask you to talk a bit in that regard about Permindex (Permanent Industrial Exposition), please?
MB: Permindex was a front-company for CIA, MI-6 and Mossad and a straw for their money-laundering and weapons-business. They worked together with Meyer Lansky’s bank in Switzerland, which was run by Tibor Rosenbaum, who did most of the weapons-business of the Mossad.
LS: Was Jim Garrison in general heading into the right direction?
MB: He was, because Clay Shaw, the owner of the New Orleans International Trade Mart and one of the directors of Permindex, was clearly working with the CIA. That’s why Garrison’s case was sabotaged by the Washington Establishment right from the beginning.
LS: Why is it remarkable that CIA had a 201 file on Lee Harvey Oswald?
MB: John Newman (“Oswald and the CIA”) has done remarkable research on how the CIA manipulated its files on Oswald and faked a 201 personal file to present it to the Warren Commission, showing that they had virtually nothing on him before 1962. This is clearly impossible after Oswald’s defection to the USSR in 1959. The most likely cause for this manipulation is that Oswald was part of the false defector program headed by JJ Angelton, the counterintelligence chief.
LS: You are arguing if Lee Harvey Oswald would have been indeed solely responsible for Kennedy’s death that the case would have been solved beyond a reasonable doubt. Why so?
MB: From all crimes, murder is the one with the most cases solved by courts. There would have been no need for all the cover-ups since 50 years, if LHO indeed was a lone nut.
LS: Moreover, you’re arguing that Oswald would have been acquitted of the charge of having killed Kennedy, if he would have survived. Why so?
MB: Even Gerald Posener, the author of “Case Closed ” – the apology of the Warren Commission’s findings -, meanwhile is saying that. There is no hard evidence that Oswald was on the 5th floor when the shooting took place; there is no evidence that the “Mannlicher”-gun, that he had mail-ordered, was fired that day; there is no hard evidence that he killed Officer Tippit, because witnesses saw two men shooting at him… and so on. Oswald would have left the court room as a free man.
LS: Why was it necessary that Jack Ruby killed Oswald? And furthermore, did they know each other?
MB: They knew each other well, and since Oswald was an asset of FBI and CIA, he had to be silenced before he could talk.
LS: There was not just one plot to kill Kennedy in Dallas, but there was at least one more planned for a visit of Kennedy to Chicago, right?
MB: Yes, there was a plot planned in Chicago with clear parallels to what happened in Dallas – with an ex-Marine as the prepared patsy, who got a job on a high rise building on the route that the motorcade was planned to take some weeks before, and who had trained with exile-Cubans like Oswald. By chance the sharp shooters were detected by a hotelier and the Chicago visit was cancelled.
MB: JFK had made a radical change while president, from a classic cold warrior to a policy of reconciliation and peace. He had made angry enemies in the military and the CIA and when he announced to end the cold war in his The Peace Speech on June 10th, 1963, was when he finally was marked to death.
LS: Can you tell us something about the role of the Secret Service and the U.S. military in the assassination?
MB: The Secret Service men were mostly Southerners, who deeply dismissed JFKs civil rights politics. They did a very lax security in Dallas and there is a probability that some of these men were sweetened to do so. The memories of Abraham Bolden, the first Afro-American brought to the Secret Service by JFK in 1961, tells that when he tried to contact the Warren Commission to talk about the supremacist, racist attitude of his colleagues, he was indicted by corrupted false witnesses and brought to prison.
The military played a crucial role in the false autopsy & x-ray-pictures made at the Bethesda hospital in Washington DC and the testimony of the doctors. General Curtis LeMay, Joint Chief of the Air Force and one of the harshest opponents of JFKs peace politics, was present in the autopsy room in Bethesda, smoking a cigar! I think his presence was not by chance.
The military intelligence also played a crucial role in Dallas – the first interviews of Marina Oswald was not by Dallas Police but by officers of the military intelligence, which also arranged a dubious translator for her testimonies, which helped to frame Oswald in the first place.
LS: Where did the funding for the coup come from?
MB: The Texas oilmen and billionaires H.L. Hunt and Clint Murchison are the most probable financiers, even if there is no hard evidence for it. They paid for the ad in the Dallas paper the day before the visit, naming Kennedy a communist and a traitor. They hated JFK to the bones, and they had LBJ in their pocket, their insurance that everything would be covered up properly.
LS: How many people lost their lives over the years related to the Kennedy assassination?
MB: A well-researched new book by Richard Belzer (“Hit List”) lists 1.400 persons with a connection to the murder and in the first three years after the assassination 33 of them came to death on unnatural causes. The probability that this happened by chance is 1: 137 billion.
LS: Was it basically the right-wing / fascist and racist mindset in the U.S. that won the coup d’etat on November 22, 1963?
MB: Yes. And in Dallas, Texas these right-wing fascists, who called themselves “patriots,” had a home game.
LS: What would the history of the “Cold War” have been if the nuclear arms race had ended in Kennedy’s second term? Would the Berlin Wall have come down sooner?
MB: After the nuclear test stop, JFK announced to his confidants that he would go to Moscow after the re-election to negotiate a peace treaty. In public he had already announced to stop the arms race in order to end the cold war. In a National Action Security Memorandum he had called for a co-operation with the Russians in space. After the exchange of secret letters with Khrushchev, which ended the missile crisis, he was on good terms with the Soviet leader, who in the Kremlin also had called for disarmament. The death of JFK encouraged the Soviet hardliners to get rid of him. With Kennedy alive, Khrushchev would have stood in power and the cold war could have ended in the 60s.
LS: Why does the death of JFK still matter?
MB: It’s the most important crime in the second half of the 20th century, it is still unsolved and it marked in a way the end of the American Republic. Since then the financial-military-industrial complex rules and no president after JFK had the balls to challenge that. There is, in the words of Gore Vidal, “a one-party-system with two right-wings”; there are corporate media brainwashing the population 24/7 and propagating wars for global imperial dominance; there are covert operations all over the world to ensure this dominance – and this will go on and on as long the truth about the covert operation, the coup d’ état, against JFKs presidency is kept hidden.

Decades of investigations, hearings, documents, records, books and interviews have failed to satisfy conspiracy theorists with a definitive answer to The Question: Did Lee Harvey Oswald act alone when he shot the President? At one time or another, doubters of the lone gunman theory “have accused 42 groups, 82 assassins and 214 people of being involved in the assassination,” said author Vincent Bugliosi.
So, when reporters, producers, or amateur historians want to check out the latest JFK conspiracy theory, they call Dave Perry. “People think I’m an anti-conspiracy guy,” Perry said at his Dallas-area home. But there’s one conspiracy theory that he’s not ruling out. We’ll get to that in a minute. Kennedy assassination conspiracy theorists, Perry said, come in all degrees of interest and levels of obsession. They may believe the government was behind the 9/11 attacks or that the moon landings were fake. Those folks comprise the “off the wall” crowd. The others, he says, read the books, watch the documentaries and come to less extreme conclusions.
Ahead of the 50th anniversary of the assassination in 2013, a flood of books about the tragedy were rereleased, along with the publication of new books examining various conspiracies. The king of Kennedy conspiracy films, Oliver Stone’s “JFK,” also was rereleased on disc. Conspiracy theorists often gather to compare notes at special symposiums, like one in 2012 at Pittsburgh’s Duquesne University. The event, which included Stone as a panelist, seemed more like a revival meeting at a Sunday house of worship than an academic conference, according to a reporter who was there. “Replace ‘Amen’ for ‘That’s right!’ and it would have basically been a church,” recalled Rebecca Nuttall. Nuttall said the crowd ranged from those who believed the government was involved in some kind of cover-up, to extremists who appeared to think “everything the government tells you is a lie.”
She said many still blame the media for failing to uncover the truth. And Perry, a 70-something retired former insurance claims adjuster from Massachusetts, has been digging through JFK assassination records since 1976 to address those skeptics. Doubters ask him to check out the odd stories that pop up: Somebody claimed to be the Grassy Knoll shooter. Nope, he wasn’t. Perry says he located and verified the authenticity of Oswald’s long-lost wedding ring. “I don’t do the sexy stuff,” Perry said. “I don’t come out and say, ‘I know who the Grassy Knoll assassin is!’ I’m the guy that goes into the county records building and looks up deed records. Most people don’t get too wound up over that.”
Over the years he’s come to know several people who found themselves embroiled in the investigation, including ex-Dallas detective Jim Leavelle and Oswald’s co-worker Buell Frazier. Perry guesses he spends a “couple hundred hours” each October and November doing research and consulting. After all that, you can imagine he’s heard a lot of theories. The School Book Depository where Oswald shot Kennedy is now the Sixth Floor Museum, featuring exhibits surrounding the tragedy. “The conspiracy theories are still around because people don’t know what to believe,” said museum curator Gary Mack in 2013, who admitted he was “not satisfied with the official story.” If Oswald didn’t act alone, who was behind the shooting in Dallas’s Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963? Some conspiracy theorists believe “the oil people” may have organized a hit on the President; others suspect “people who didn’t like the way Kennedy handled civil rights.”
Perry shared five conspiracy theories he believes rank among the most popular:
1. “LBJ had it done” Perry has shot this one down. “It’s based primarily on statements made by Madeleine Brown,” who Perry described as a “crackpot.” Brown – who died in 2002 – claimed to have had an affair with Johnson. She also claimed that LBJ had attended a party with ex-Vice President Richard Nixon, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover and others the night before the attack. According to Perry, Brown said LBJ whispered into her ear, “After tomorrow, those Kennedys will never embarrass me again. That’s no threat. That’s a promise.” “That’s absolutely not true,” said Perry, who said his research proved LBJ couldn’t have been at the alleged party that night, debunking Brown’s story. “A lot of Texans didn’t like Johnson – they thought he was a crook – so as a result, they started creating this fiction after the assassination where he wanted Kennedy out so he could be president,” Perry said. “But we’ve found no evidence, and we know that all the stuff that Madeleine Brown said was contrived.”
2. The “military industrial complex” did it Nope, that doesn’t wash either, said Perry. “The claim is that Kennedy was going to pull (American) troops out of Vietnam (and that) the military wanted to pour more people into Vietnam. That’s technically not correct. He talked about trying to resolve the situation, but he never made a claim that he was going to pull out of there.”
3. “The mob” did it Sorry, said Perry, no veracity to that. “There’re at least three different groups that they claim independently did this: There’s the Chicago mob, the Miami mob, and the New Orleans mob. But it’s all hearsay.”
4. “Oswald acted alone as part of an unknown conspiracy” It’s possible there were individuals who helped Oswald, but who weren’t part of any larger group or perhaps unaware of what he was planning. “Remember John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln and four were hung, including the first woman ever to be hung (by the federal government,) Mary Surratt,” he said.
5. “The CIA did it” This is the conspiracy theory that interests Perry the most. “The problem is, of all of them, this is one I can’t debunk,” he laughs. “Supposedly Kennedy was fed up with the shenanigans that the CIA was pulling,” Perry said. “He found out the CIA was trying to kill (Cuban leader Fidel) Castro, which is a fact. So the argument is that the CIA felt that Kennedy was going to disband them. And as a result of that, they were the ones that ordered the killing of Kennedy.” Perry points out that a former head of the CIA, Allen Dulles, was a member of the Warren Commission, the special Johnson-appointed panel tasked with the official investigation of the assassination. The commission determined that Oswald acted alone. Oswald was a supporter of Soviet-backed Cuba. “We know Oswald was in the Russian embassy in Mexico City,” Perry said. “We even know who he talked to. But we don’t know what was said. Then a few weeks later, he shoots Kennedy.” “It may have been something that they overheard involving him and the Russians. Or maybe the CIA had Oswald on the payroll. He might have been a double agent.” Is it possible that Russians ordered Oswald to do it? Not likely, said Perry. The Russians would never have ordered Oswald to kill Kennedy because of his well-known links to Russia and his pro-Cuban sympathies. Russia’s leaders knew they would have been the first suspects if they’d engineered an assassination by Oswald. It would have been an act of war, which could have triggered a nuclear attack. “We need to know what happened in Mexico City,” Perry said. When every conflict or area of instability is perceived as a threat, the world becomes the enemy, writes Brad Wolf.
Common Dreams I recently spoke with the foreign policy aide of a United States senator in a scheduled lobbying call for our antiwar organization. Rather than use the standard lobbying points about wasteful Pentagon spending, I asked for a frank discussion regarding ways our organization might find a successful strategy to cut the Pentagon budget. I wanted the perspective of somebody working on the Hill for a conservative senator. The senator’s aide obliged me. The chances of any bill passing both chambers of Congress that would trim the Pentagon budget by 10 percent, according to the aide, were zero. When I asked if this was because the public perception was that we needed this amount to defend the country, the aide responded that it was not only the public perception but the reality. The senator was convinced, as were most in Congress, that the Pentagon’s threat assessments were accurate and reliable (this despite the Pentagon’s history of failed forecasting). As described to me, the military assesses threats across the globe including such countries as China and Russia, then designs a military strategy to counter those threats, works with weapons manufacturers to design weapons to integrate into that strategy, then produces a budget based on that strategy. Congress, Democrats and Republicans alike, overwhelmingly approve the budget. After all, it’s the military. They clearly know the business of war. When a military begins with the notion that it must confront all problems arising from all locales across the globe, what it develops is a global military strategy. This is not a defensive strategy, but a global policing strategy for every conceivable offense. When every conflict or area of instability is perceived as a threat, the world becomes the enemy.
“This is not a defensive strategy, but a global policing strategy for every conceivable offense.” What if such conflicts or instabilities were seen as opportunities rather than threats? What if we deployed doctors, nurses, teachers, and engineers as quickly as we deployed drones, bullets, and bombs? Doctors in mobile hospitals are far less expensive than the current F-35 fighter jet which is closing in on a $1.6 trillion price tag. And doctors don’t mistakenly kill noncombatants in wedding parties or funerals thereby fueling anti-Americanism. In fact, they don’t see combatants or noncombatants, they see people. They treat patients.
On Being ‘Naïve’ The chorus decrying such an idea as “naïve” is immediately heard, war drums providing the charging beat. And so, an assessment is in order. According to Merriam-Webster, naïve can mean “marked by unaffected simplicity,” or “deficient in worldly wisdom or informed judgment,” or “not previously subjected to experimentation or a particular experimental situation.” The above proposal of doctors over drones does indeed sound simple and unaffected. Feeding people who are hungry, caring for them when they are sick, housing them when they have no shelter, is a relatively straightforward approach. Often the unaffected, simple way is the best. Guilty as charged here. As to “deficient in worldly wisdom or informed judgment,” we have witnessed America perpetually at war, seen the wise, worldly, and informed proven disastrously wrong again and again at a cost of hundreds of thousands of lives. They brought no peace, no security. We are gladly guilty of being deficient in their particular brand of worldly wisdom and informed judgment. We, the naïve ones, have gathered our own wisdom and judgment from enduring their catastrophic mistakes, their hubris, their lies.
“We, the naïve ones, have gathered our own wisdom and judgment from enduring their catastrophic mistakes, their hubris, their lies.” As to the last definition of naïve, “not previously subjected to experimentation,” it is quite clear that a policy of healing rather than war has never been seriously considered, articulated, or deployed in any manner by this country. Naïve again, as charged. If we had built 2,977 hospitals in Afghanistan in honor of every American who died on 9/11, we would have saved far more lives, created far less anti-Americanism and terrorism, and spent far less than the $6 trillion price tag of the unsuccessful War on Terror. Additionally, our act of magnanimity and compassion would have stirred the conscience of the world. But we wanted to shed blood, not break bread. We craved war, not peace.
And war we got. Twenty years of it. War is always a conflict over resources. Somebody wants what somebody else has. For a country that has no problem spending $6 trillion on a failed War on Terror, we can certainly provide the needed resources of food, shelter, and medicine to keep people from tearing each other apart, and in the process, save ourselves from opening yet another bleeding wound. We must do what is so often preached in our churches but rarely enacted. We must perform the works of mercy. It comes down to this: Are we prouder of vanquishing a country with bombs, or saving it with bread? Which of these allows us to hold our heads higher as Americans? Which of these engenders hope and friendship with our “enemies?” I know the answer for myself and many of my friends, but what of the rest of us? How do we get the war out of America? I know of no other way than by being naïve and embracing the simple, unaffected works of mercy.

I Am studying Ephesians 6:12 about the Armor of God & and there is one verse that I’m afraid I don’t get the full meaning of. It’s verse 12
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
A couple of questions I had…
1. What does this verse mean? 2. What does it mean when it says “the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”? Does it mean in Heaven? Or does it mean in all the earth? 3. When it talks about the rulers and authorities is it talking about literally those that rule our countries, nations, etc? Or is it talking about those rulers who are not Christian who have been put in a position of power?
In order to get our hands around this verse, let’s look at it in several other versions: “We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world” (CEV).
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places” (NLT).
Here are four facts about our satanic opponents: They are numerous. Note the various expressions in verse 12. They are principalities and powers. They are rulers. They are authorities. These different expressions describe the many different ranks and categories of evil spirit beings. They are powerful. Don’t think of Casper the Friendly Ghost or of some nice spirit beings who like to play tricks on you. The demons are real, and they aren’t on your side. J. B. Phillips calls them “spiritual agents from the very headquarters of evil.” They are wicked. They follow no moral code. They live only to do the devil’s bidding. They are opposed to all that is good and holy and right. They are clever. Paul speaks of schemes and diabolical plans. Do not be deceived into thinking the demons are stupid. They are morally corrupt but as spirit beings, they possess enormous intelligence. Like spies working for some lethal enemy, the demons know the weak spots in our armor. They lie in wait, looking for a chance to pounce.
Our Real Battle: What should we learn from Ephesians 6:12?
First, it reminds us that our battle is not against other humans. We do not struggle against flesh and blood. Sometimes we focus on the abortionists, the pornographers, the godless politicians, the corrupt business leaders, the drug dealers, and the purveyors of filth, as if they were the source of our problems. Yet those people are unwitting dupes of powerful spiritual forces that they know nothing about. They are morally culpable for their choices, yet they are also in the service of evil beings that influence them in ways they do not realize. Or we could make it more personal. When someone has hurt us deeply, it’s easy to say, “That person is the source of all my problems.” But our struggle is not with flesh and blood-even though it seems that way most of the time.

All those phrases are roughly equivalent in that they all refer to the spiritual powers arrayed against us. They teach us that there are various kinds of demonic powers. There are “rulers,” “authorities,” “powers of this dark world,” and “spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” It’s not clear how we should differentiate between them. Perhaps it is enough to know that just as there are various types of angels so the demons are organized and serve different purposes in Satan’s service. The word “rulers” doesn’t refer to mayors or governors or presidents. It’s not about Obama or Osama or Bush or Putin. It’s not about people you work with or your boss on a bad day or anyone else who gets under your skin. On those days when people treat you badly, you may feel like they are the enemy.
But they aren’t, not in the deepest sense.
We are all foot soldiers in a vast invisible war that stretches across the cosmos. Finally, this verse explains why we must “put on the whole armor of God.” Our godly character (or lack of it) actually does make a day-to-day difference. I picked up a newsletter from LoveINC, headed by Robert Odom, a man whom I know well and admire greatly. LoveINC (the name means “Love In the Name of Christ) does groundbreaking work in uniting churches to work together to meet the needs of the poor in cities and in depressed rural areas. Robert wrote the lead article called, “The Depth of the Call” based on a conversation he had with one of his community directors who had gone through a series of very hard trials that included the suicide of her husband, eventual remarriage, divorce, major surgery, and bankruptcy. In talking with this woman, Robert said that, and he and his wife had recently returned from a whirlwind trip to visit the LoveINC affiliates in Alaska. They visited six affiliates in six cities in 12 days, which meant taking ten flights, staying in eight hotels and making 15 speeches. In one city, Robert spoke at an open community meeting. During the question and answer time, a woman said that ninety percent of the people in that community don’t go to church, and what could they do about it? Robert replied that he didn’t have an answer for the ninety percent. Why, he wondered, aren’t the ten percent living such godly, joyful, selfless, egoless, loving, compassionate lives that the ninety percent are drawn to them and ultimately to Christ. That’s a good question. “There is no shortage of people talking about Christ, but there is a shortage of people living like Christ.” I couldn’t get this sentence out of my mind:
When God brings someone out of the deep, not coming out of the deep wiser, more selfless, more committed, more Christ-like is dishonoring to God and dishonoring to them and all that they’ve gone through. Our godly character really does matter. It matters in our struggle with “principalities and powers,” it matters in our Christian walk, and it matters greatly to the watching world. Life is a struggle that will continue till the day we die. There is no release from the battle. If we go AWOL, we simply find a bigger battle on the other side of the hill. Take up your armor, Christian, because all hell will soon break loose against you.
This leads us to two key questions: What is Satan trying to do in your life? He wants to frustrate God’s plan for you. He wants to get you off the track of doing God’s will. How does Satan attack us? He attacks us when we least expect it. Rarely does he approach us with an overt invitation to evil. After all, if the devil came up wearing a name tag that said, “Hello! My name is Satan,” we would recognize him immediately. If he said, “I’ve come to destroy everything that is good in your life. I plan to destroy your family, your marriage, your reputation, your integrity and everything that is good in your life, and when I am finished, you will end up in hell forever,” if the devil came to us talking like that, we would say, “Get lost!” But he doesn’t appear that way. He comes to us like the serpent came to Eve in the Garden, with a simple question that causes us to doubt God’s goodness. He comes as an angel of light talking about tolerance and telling us not to be so uptight and judgmental in our morality. He comes with an insinuation that we have been mistreated and we’re right to be angry and hurt. He whispers to us, “Go ahead! Say what you’re thinking.” And when we do, he laughs because now we’ve destroyed a friendship-and we may have destroyed our own future. Or he convinces us that a little pornography doesn’t matter. Or he seduces us into thinking that the truth is in the eye of the beholder. Or he encourages us to take the low road. Or he nurses within us a grudge that becomes a root of bitterness that leads to outbreaks of anger. Though I don’t have time to develop it here, I have often thought that Satan’s greatest tool is discouragement. If he can’t get us with lust, if he can’t trap us with anger, if he can’t induce us to dishonesty, if he can’t lure us into profanity, if he can’t lead us into compromise, if all those things don’t work, he still has the tool of discouragement. That often works against us when nothing else will.
Satan comes as an angel of light talking about tolerance and telling us not to be so uptight and judgmental in our morality. In light of all this we need to heed Paul’s words in verse 13: “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” The command “put on” is a military term. It’s the last step you take before going into battle. It’s like cleaning your rifle, checking you ammo, putting on your flak jacket, and grabbing your helmet. Take up your armor, Christian, because all hell will soon break loose against you. The “day of evil” refers to those moments of special temptation we all face. Not every day is an “evil day” in the precise sense Paul uses the term because not every day to do we feel great pressure from the enemy. Some people have faced several “evil days” this week. You never know in advance when one is coming your way.
God’s Intention for Every Christian: The end of the verse gives us God’s intention for every Christian. “After you have done everything, to stand.” The battle now over, the Christian stands victorious on the battlefield. This is not only possible but practical. Nothing I have said about Satan indicates that he should win the day. You have enormous resources available to you at every moment. We need to remind ourselves of several key passages:
“Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4 KJV).
“Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).
“And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (Revelation 12:11).
When you know who your enemy is, you will not take him lightly. When you take up God’s armor, you are ready to enter the battle. When you fight in God’s strength, you will not be defeated.
You may be severely tempted and the people closest to you may be completely unaware of your struggle. This victory is not easy or instantaneous nor does it come without struggle, sweat, sacrifice and blood. Nor does one victory assure another. You cannot live on the strength of yesterday because your enemy comes against you again and again. Furthermore, the battle is not the same for any two people. What tempts you may not bother me. What trips me up may not trouble you at all. Satan tailors his assaults to each person’s weak points. The battles you face may all be unseen, but they are nonetheless real.
We Face a Defeated Foe: Some who read these words have faced enormous temptation this week even though others may not know about it. You may be severely tempted and the people closest to you may be completely unaware of your struggle. Some have faced discouragement because of a battle that seems never to end. Some, no doubt, have lived in Satan’s domain for a long, long time. He’s held you captive through fear because you’ve never known a way out. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).
1 John 3:8 says, “The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil” (NLT).
There is no need for any Christian to live in fear of the devil.
He is real. He is powerful. He is wicked. He is clever. He is defeated.
Calvary dealt a death-blow to the devil and his legions of demons. At the cross Satan thought he had defeated Jesus, but he only bruised his heel. Instead it was Satan who was defeated when Jesus crushed his head. Calvary dealt a death-blow to the devil and his legions of demons. The cross mortally wounded the enemy of our souls. Someday he will be cast into the Lake of Fire. Between now and then, he fights on, defeated but not destroyed, using every weapon in his arsenal to convince us that he has power to overcome us.
While preparing this message I came upon a slim volume in my library called The Christian Warrior by Isaac Ambrose, a reprint of a book first published in 1660. Very early in the book Ambrose gives a long exhortation for the Christian warrior to be brave with many reasons given, among them that when you were baptized, you took a “military sacrament” to fight against the devil (that’s probably news to most of us, but it is true–at least if we understand what baptism really means). Here are a few choice morsels from the book:
“God is on the side of all true wrestlers, and, if God is for them, who can prosper against them?” (p. 14)
“The Lord Jesus not only feels deeply, but prayed earnestly for his children when they wrestle with their grand adversary. No sooner does Satan run in upon you but Christ runs into the bosom of the Father to intercede for you” (P. 15).
“Christians, be not afraid of Satan; he is only a creature of limited power. Is he potent?
Your Captain is omnipotent” (p. 17). Let me make one final point before I close. Many well-meaning people assume that once they come to Christ, their temptations will end. The opposite is closer to the truth. Temptations increase once you become a follower of Christ. Why should the devil attack one of his own? He fights against those who follow Christ. That’s why some people can honestly say, “I gave my heart to Jesus, and things are harder than they were before.” Welcome to the battlefield. It’s been like that for 2000 years.
If you are looking for an escape from your problems, Jesus is not for you. Christianity is not a religion for sissies or for those who want an easy road. If you are looking for an escape from your problems, Jesus is not for you. Christianity is for strong men and women who will not flee from the struggle. We need some valiant soldiers willing to enter the field of battle.
My appeal is Paul’s appeal. Name your trouble, your trial, your temptation. And then enter the battle in the strength of the Lord and find out for yourself whether it is possible, “having done all, to stand.”
Here is my contention. Christ cannot fail. I may struggle, but he cannot fail. I may waver under the attack, but he cannot fail. If Christ is in me and I am in him, then weak though I may feel, Christ cannot fail.
It’s not about me. It’s about him.
You do not need to take my word for it. Try it for yourself. Put the Lord to the test this week. Give God his fair chance. Name your personal battleground and then go in the strength that God provides. Take up the divine armor and march forward into battle.
I challenge you. God invites you.
See for yourself what the Lord will do. “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.” Amen!

The 8th chakra is unlike any other chakra. It has no color, but it is believed to be ultraviolet. Because of that, we can’t really see it or assign a specific visual or color to it.
For most experts, however, the 8th chakra is associated with the white color. It combines the effects of the other chakras and makes up their total projection. It is the aura.
What is The 8th Chakra The 8th chakra is also known as the soul star chakra. People consider it as a pathway for divine love to flow to one’s physical body.
You can look at it this way:
When you meditate, you frequently start with imagining a light entering your body from above. That is you working your 8th chakra.
This chakra is where your personality, ego, and will start to project into your physical experience. It holds the blueprint of your personality and how you come and function into your formative years. It’s an important phase that you should never rush.
Take note that the 8th chakra doesn’t really refer to the soul itself. Instead, it’s the place where the soul dwells after one is able to clear his ego or persona.
You can think of it as your life’s purpose. High intelligence is not necessary to become aware or to be mindful. No, in fact a person’s intellect can impede the realization of truth. Those things which stir the intellect — complexity, quandary, conflicting philosophies, uncertainty, creativity, etc. — also veer a person’s attention away from realizing the truth. Intellectual stimulation can be interesting and engaging, and yet that which stirs the flow of thought leads a person away from the silent stillness of truth. There is the flow of information passing through a person, and then there is the awareness observing this flow. The awareness is the truth of who a person is.
Making knowing the truth a focus and a priority can help a person on their path to realization.
Hmm… Well, I have a sort-of-strict policy about not being interested in “enlightenment”, but I don’t like to be annoying, so I’ll substitute “becoming true self” so that I can play too. Eh? I don’t think one needs to be at the top end of the bell curve, no. I think that courage matters more than IQ. To be yourself, you have to keep letting go of the security provided by staying enclosed in your ego… the willingness to share yourself and your world with others is probably the most fundamental thing, and that takes courage because the world is often a prickly place, right?
I think that where intelligence comes in most handy is when you’re trying to help others in that regard: being able to communicate without getting tangled up by your own fixed ideas does seem to tap a lot of mental resources.
However, you wouldn’t teach someone of modest intelligence the way you would teach someone of greater intelligence. For example, you wouldn’t necessarily teach by talking about or expounding on Dharma. Assuming they are willing, you’d bring them somewhere and just sit. You might do pointing exercises. “Hey, look at this sunset” and simply share in the beauty of the world. For someone with modest intelligence, who is unwilling, and whose circumstances force them to endure great suffering, that requires a great deal of work on the part of the teacher. It’s often easier just to sit, listening to the dukkha, than it is to give frequent instruction.
Typically, with someone of great intelligence, you spend a lot more time dealing with their drama. The greater their intellectual prowess, the more likely they cling to it, finding clever ways to avoid directly experiencing reality. Such folks usually exhaust their intellectual powers before realizing none of it is making them happy; it’s at their most desperate point where they can accept greater teachings, however that might arise. Very rarely, you might find someone who has great intelligence, who is willing, and has some foundational skill in letting go of their intellect. Such a person learns a lot from the world, both the Dharma and the Logos. They are fun to talk to. Finally, a foundation in mindfulness and concentration skills opens up the possibility to expand your intellect, or at least, making what you have more efficient. Clarity of thought first requires clarity of awareness.

In the Zen tradition, the answer is a clear “no.” There are some wonderful cases in the history of Zen of people of intelligence well below normal who Awakened.
In my own life
One time, I was at a summer spiritual retreat seeking to let go of my unhappiness. (This was not, in particular, a Zen retreat.) One of the best pieces of insight I received was when a mentor said to me, “Sid, your unhappiness is so complicated.” She was right. I’ve always known that unhappiness was nothing I needed, but society told me I needed to be unhappy. So, being intelligent, I had to come up with incredibly complicated justifications for my misery and suffering. And so, it took a long time to unpack them.
Meanwhile, there was a young man staying at the retreat center. He was about 19 years old, and mentally deficient, with an IQ perhaps around 70 or 80. He could do simple chores and have simple conversations. His older sister was one of the retreat participants, and he was working on the property and helping out.
One of the things I was working on was enjoying the weather, no matter what it was. It was very hard for me to enjoy being out in the rain. So, I came inside and looked out the kitchen window. The young man was happily carrying firewood from the shed into the house, not caring about the rain at all.
Intelligence creates opinions, and opinions get in the way of happiness and enlightenment!
The Traditional Zen Story
An event with the same lesson happened a few hundred years ago, I think in China, though I heard it through the Japanese tradition. There was a large monastery where the teachings came from a famous Zen master. He had lots of intelligent students trying to Awaken. There was also an addled (IQ deficient) boy who worked in the garden.
A student asked, “What is Buddha!” The Master shouted, “Buddha is life and death!” and pounded his staff. The students meditated on this puzzle very seriously. “Buddha is life and death, what does this mean?” They meditated hours a day and just stayed stuck.
The garden worker heard the talk, but he didn’t know the words “life and death.” However, in Chinese, the words “life and death” sound a lot like “grass sandals.” The boy knew what these were. He had a pair of sandals made of woven grass that he wore when he worked in the garden. He kept working in the garden, but he was very puzzled. Just like the monks, he asked, “Buddha is grass sandals. What does this mean?”
One day he slipped, and his sandal flew off his foot and hit him in the head. He Awakened. He met the Buddha in his own grass sandal.
It doesn’t take a lot of intelligence to wake up. Sometimes, it does take a lot of commitment.

First, being smart usually includes intellectual curiosity that may require some amount of independent study, which, to a really smart person, is fun. Smart people may have a hard time finding peers, not in any moral sense, but a social one. Smart people have interests that bore the hell out of a non-smart person, and they must pursue these interests alone or with one or two partners.
Smart people have a strong sense of metacognition. They are involved in thinking in a way others may not be, making them seem detached and even eccentric because they manage a busy internal agenda. And finally, in my experience, really smart people also have a high degree of emotional and social intelligence. They can navigate the complex principles of interconnectedness, sustainability, progressivism, and moral conduct.
They possess an independent, internal moral compass that makes irrelevant the efforts of church or state to control their behavior. They are consequently more likely to take unpopular positions on issues, which may make them appear hard to know when they become too earnest. EDIT: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sometimes I don’t feel very smart, but it’s great to hear from kindred spirits.

The vote totals make sense for the results to not be correct; you are alleging votes were flipped in the Governor’s race. Anything is possible. This article will dive into the Scriptural passages that talk about Armageddon, discuss the details we have available about this great battle, and what it means for us today.
Armageddon Meaning The actual word for “Armageddon” only appears once in the Bible (Revelation 16:16). Even though most of the New Testament is written in Greek, this also comes from the Hebrew word which means, “Mount Megiddo,” according to GotQuestions.org.
What Is the Battle of Armageddon? Revelation 16:16 describes what happens after God pours out the sixth bowl of wrath (one of the many plagues that permeates the Revelation narrative). The antichrist gathers “kings” in a placed called Armageddon. These kings, loyal to the antichrist, will gather their armies to wage war against the people of God. We see hints of this war in Revelation 16:14 and in Revelation 20:7-9, where Satan gathers enemies from the four corners of the earth (in essence, everywhere). Some have placed the battle about 60 miles north of Jerusalem where: – Barak fought the Canaanites, a people known for living in depravity (Judges 4:15) – Saul and his sons perished in battle (1 Samuel 31:8) against the Philistines, one of Israel’s most known and infamous enemies – Pharaoh Necho of Egypt, of whom Israel has had a tumultuous history, killed Josiah, one of the few good kings of Judah who turned the nation back to God (2 Chronicles 35:22). It would make sense to place the battle out there due to Israel’s history of that location. It symbolizes a holy people coming against enemies of darkness. We also know that God ultimately wins this battle, even if the enemy pulls armies from all the ends of the earth to cross the Euphrates to destroy God’s people.
When Is the Battle of Armageddon? Although Armageddon may seem decades or centuries away, we do not know the hour when Jesus will return nor when the events in Revelation will take place. But, at this present moment, we can derive the following from the passages about the Battle of Armageddon:

1. The enemy will try to intimidate Christians. He will pull people from all four corners of the earth. Kings will side with him, and they will attempt to annihilate God’s people. 2. God will overcome the enemy. The enemy cannot form an obstacle big enough to prevent God from acting. Just as he overcame the enemy on that very same location during the time of Barak and Deborah, he will do the same in the End Days. 3. History plays an important role in End Times. If you take a look at all the Old Testament prophecies concerning Jesus or anything that appeared in the New Testament, we often see hints of history playing over and over again in the biblical narrative. Ruth meets Boaz in Bethlehem, the same place of Jesus’ birth in their family line centuries later, for instance. We need to pay attention to what Scripture says about the End of Days and watch for the markers described in Revelation and other books of the Bible. 4. Although we cannot know the hour, we can trust God. Sometimes Christians like to predict when events in Revelation will take place. But we should shift our focus from trying to predict when Christ will return to preparing for that return.
