As some of you may know I made a thread yesterday entitled: Brothers in the Shadows: Evidence that Secret Societies Manipulate World Affairs. The main protagonist of that thread was Rudolf Steiner, Austrian philosopher, social reformer and esotericist.

Although it is not essential for you to do so in order to understand this thread, it might be worth reading the above thread first so that you have a more rounded apprehension of the man himself. It also serves to show just how visionary Steiner was and how well connected he seemed to have been with the secret societies he so often mentions.

Anyway, as a result of that thread I delved further into the lectures and writings of Steiner looking for more revelations and it wasn’t long before I found something.

I first saw it mentioned in the book ‘The Crisis of Civilization‘, written by the Russian Anthroposophist Gennady Bondarev. Bondarev first states:
Speaking of the above-mentioned map Rudolf Steiner remarks: *Nothing special has been said about the Scandinavian peoples; it seems as though they will probably be granted a really long period of clemency* (Jan. 14, 1917, GA 174). Bondarev gave no specific reference for this quote and so I couldn’t be fully sure it was legitimate. I did some further snooping and found this…

Rudolf Steiner spoke these words in 1916, in Berlin, during WWI, in a lecture on the secret societies. A precursor of David Icke, Rudolf Steiner began warning the world about these secret societies during WWI.

After an hour or so of crawling through the Rudolf Steiner archives I finally managed to find the quote from the horses mouth…We might say that the present time is doing very well compared with that which will come in the future when the Western development blossoms more and more.
Very shortly, when one will have written the year 2000, there will come from America not a direct prohibition, but a kind of prohibition against all thinking, a sort of law which will have the name of suppressing all individual thinking. The other hand there is the beginning achieved in this direction of suppressing all individual thinking into pure materialistic thinking where one does not need to work upon the soul on the basis of external experiments, in a the human being is handled as if he were a machine.

You can see it for yourself here.

Here we have a man, speaking in **1916**,
explicitly stating how in the year 2000 (or just after) America will introduce a law that suppresses free will and individual thinking. It even hints at how the “prohibition” is not a *direct* prohibition, but a prohibition under the guise of something else, ie – protecting citizens from terrorism.

86 years later, in 2001, the USA PATRIOT Act is passed as a direct response to the terrorist attacks of September 11th.

Later he goes on to say:
Now, in the Future you will not get a law passed which says you must not think. No. What will happen is that **things will be done the effect of which will be to exclude all individual thinking.** This is the other pole to which we are proceeding.

This is connected with the development of the West.
Could this even be referencing the September 11th attacks? Instantly a quote comes to mind: “Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event––like a new Pearl Harbor.”

Anyways, it’s all pure speculation.
I happen to think that the dates are an unbelievable coincidence, although coincidence might not be the right word. Maybe, “coincidence” instead?

Usually I don’t put much stock into these sorts of things. But having read some of Steiner’s works over the last few days I am inclined to, in this case, think again.

Really, what can you say? The man **nailed** it.
When I think back over the last 10 years what has struck me most is the regimentation of society, Even though the US is broken down in to 2 camps – liberal and conservative there are certain subjects which have been taboo – 9/11 of course but also the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan along with such legislation as the Patriot act.
The usual response to challenging such ideas is that you’re “unpatriotic” or you “don’t support the troops”. Sure, tie a yellow ribbon on something and everything is fine, right?
Had Steiner been speaking of the US Congress he would have been even more correct as they seem the perfect example of the antithesis of free thought.
There have been challenges in Congress but one will notice that these same people are no longer in office. The same goes for professionals who have questioned the 9/11 commission report, Kevin Barrett comes to mind. If Steiner could predict this, what else has he predicted that has yet to come to fruition?

As some of you may know I made a thread yesterday entitled: Brothers in the Shadows: Evidence that Secret Societies Manipulate World Affairs. The main protagonist of that thread was Rudolf Steiner, Austrian philosopher, social reformer and esotericist.

Although it is not essential for you to do so in order to understand this thread, it might be worth reading the above thread first so that you have a more rounded apprehension of the man himself. It also serves to show just how visionary Steiner was and how well connected he seemed to have been with the secret societies he so often mentions.

Anyway, as a result of that thread I delved further into the lectures and writings of Steiner looking for more revelations and it wasn’t long before I found something.

I first saw it mentioned in the book ‘The Crisis of Civilization‘, written by the Russian Anthroposophist Gennady Bondarev. Bondarev first states:
Speaking of the above-mentioned map Rudolf Steiner remarks: *Nothing special has been said about the Scandinavian peoples; it seems as though they will probably be granted a really long period of clemency* (Jan. 14, 1917, GA 174). This is the solution to the riddle of the relatively happy liberalism existing in the Northern European countries.

This first statement struck me as prophetic, for it is true that the Scandinavian regions are relative safe havens in the modern world and have been for decades. Countries like Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Finland often find themselves topping the list of the Global Peace Index.

But it is what came next that made me go
But of the U.S.A. Rudolf Steiner says that free thinking will have come to an end in the year 2000. Of this there can be no doubt. Here we have a reference to Steiner predicting that in the year 2000 America will put an end to free thinking and become a militaristic nation with the inhabitants becoming mere slaves. **This was said in 1916!**

For those still wondering what on Earth I am referring to…USA Patriot Act.

Bondarev gave no specific reference for this quote and so I couldn’t be fully sure it was legitimate. I did some further snooping and found this…

Rudolf Steiner spoke these words in 1916, in Berlin, during WWI, in a lecture on the secret societies. A precursor of David Icke, Rudolf Steiner began warning the world about these secret societies during WWI.

Still, it wasn’t enough.
After an hour or so of crawling through the Rudolf Steiner archives I finally managed to find the quote from the horses mouth…We might say that the present time is doing very well compared with that which will come in the future when the Western development blossoms more and more.
Very shortly, when one will have written the year 2000, there will come from America not a direct prohibition, but a kind of prohibition against all thinking, a sort of law which will have the name of suppressing all individual thinking. The other hand there is the beginning achieved in this direction of suppressing all individual thinking into pure materialistic thinking where one does not need to work upon the soul on the basis of external experiments, in a the human being is handled as if he were a machine.

You can see it for yourself here.

Here we have a man, speaking in **1916**,
explicitly stating how in the year 2000 (or just after) America will introduce a law that suppresses free will and individual thinking. It even hints at how the “prohibition” is not a *direct* prohibition, but a prohibition under the guise of something else, ie – protecting citizens from terrorism.

86 years later, in 2001, the USA PATRIOT Act is passed as a direct response to the terrorist attacks of September 11th.

Later he goes on to say:
Now, in the Future you will not get a law passed which says you must not think. No. What will happen is that **things will be done the effect of which will be to exclude all individual thinking.** This is the other pole to which we are proceeding.

This is connected with the development of the West.
Could this even be referencing the September 11th attacks? Instantly a quote comes to mind: “Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event––like a new Pearl Harbor.”

Anyways, it’s all pure speculation.
I happen to think that the dates are an unbelievable coincidence, although coincidence might not be the right word. Maybe, “coincidence” instead?

Usually I don’t put much stock into these sorts of things. But having read some of Steiner’s works over the last few days I am inclined to, in this case, think again.

Really, what can you say? The man **nailed** it.
When I think back over the last 10 years what has struck me most is the regimentation of society, Even though the US is broken down in to 2 camps – liberal and conservative there are certain subjects which have been taboo – 9/11 of course but also the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan along with such legislation as the Patriot act.
The usual response to challenging such ideas is that you’re “unpatriotic” or you “don’t support the troops”. Sure, tie a yellow ribbon on something and everything is fine, right?
Had Steiner been speaking of the US Congress he would have been even more correct as they seem the perfect example of the antithesis of free thought.
There have been challenges in Congress but one will notice that these same people are no longer in office. The same goes for professionals who have questioned the 9/11 commission report, Kevin Barrett comes to mind. If Steiner could predict this, what else has he predicted that has yet to come to fruition?

I don’t know why I didn’t stumble over this thread yet as I´m very interested in Steiner. I began reading his books in ´97, mostly I was into his political work, the social three folding idea, which is IMO the only ALREADY WORKING alternative ( see my threads).

Real Problem of Socialism is human nature, people don’t like the output of their hard work taken from them without compensation and the biggest issue is that the leaders can never have enough, it’s like feeding the Vaal, the best intentions fall into the seven sins. If there are no checks and balances there is no equity, without equity somebody always loses and eventually they get tired of losing, especially when they fall into hopelessness and they can’t feed the same family that used to live well. Socialism is a nice thought but we humans are incapable of keeping it under control so it fails every time.

Greed, envy, ambition are all parts of our basic makeup, and they can’t live in a socialist society, we may have to wait for a later start date to get it right, for now we need checks and balances and that’s not our government who needs the most checks put on them. So we will have to take care of each other despite our government’s appetite for our output. We have met the enemy and they are us, get over it, capitalism has helped more people in human history than any other economic system and for now it will have to do.

Venezuela, with its proven oil reserves was a prime example of where capitalism would have soared, making all Venezuelans the pride of South America. With all of the industrial growth and development spun off from the petrochemical industry, EVERYONE would have lived the dream. Instead, socialism took over, people had no impetus to succeed, industry didn’t even start, let alone flourish and the powerful elite gobbled up the wealth. With no reason to produce, the economy failed and people starved.

**The socialist-democrats, if left to their desires, will do the same.**
  Venezuela was the most prosperous country in South America prior to the takeover. Not even a generation went by before the crash and burn. It only took about a dozen years to totally destroy Venezuela’s economy and society with socialism. We are one Bernie Sanders election from a similar same fate. Once in power they will rig the electoral process to stay in power. Polls show that many of the 37 percent of Americans who say they support “socialism” actually have in mind the generous welfare states seen in Europe… Let’s not forget to tell them about the extremely high tax rates that will go along with that.

People that don’t pay taxes are all for higher taxes. People without jobs are always for guaranteed free benefits they claim are rights.  One of those American socialist platforms is free college for all. What a grand mistake. The financial inability of colleges to fund free tuition I won’t even discuss here. When anyone can attend college then a college education means the same as a high school diploma. Right now that isn’t much in this age of “everyone graduates.” Graduation rates are going up because the core standards have been watered down to the lower ability students.

In other words, no one is allowed to be below average. Teachers fear failing students, and grade what used to be failing work as passing. Our math teachers are asked, “why are you failing so many kids?” Attendance standards just don’t exist anymore. Student grade point averages are going up yet colleges are telling us that student readiness in the areas of reading, writing and math are going down. Now colleges are graduating students who don’t shine in college, *As Colleges are told to keep these students to get federal funding.*

**The federal government should not be in the *BIZ* of student loans.**
The institutions/entities get the money, the cost of tuition/books/labs/tenure increases and the loans keep churning out. Who in their right mind (immediate problem) would spend $80K plus for a $60K job? OJT, working while going to school (and no one said it’s law to graduate in 4 years. Do it earlier or later, who cares?). Loans and insurance is what drives up the price of anything and both are fraught with fraud.

Nowhere is the push for socialism more confusing than in the United States, where the capitalist economic model has led to the greatest economic expansion and creation of wealth among the largest number of people than in any country throughout history. The U.S. ranks around the 30th percentile in income inequality globally, meaning 70% of countries have a more equal income distribution. In the US the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. I think an individual should pay for college. If he or she needs a loan, and the government wants to provide one, it should be little or no interest. Not 5% or 6%, but 1%.

Is Socialism The Answer? (Marxist Reacts!)
The minute the government began granting $4,000 per student is the same day that all colleges raised their tuition $4,000 a year. Many citizens in this society have forgotten the country was founded and built mostly by Christians that were looking for freedom and opportunity. The Pilgrims tried socialism (commune), many starved that first winter. So they reconsidered and found better solutions. Our constitution is not built on theory, it is built on experience. Which is why the leftie controlled schools do not teach history any more. Only socialist talking points. Trump ran on ending corruption and the waste of tax dollars and is not a politician.

**He doesn’t play ball with them.**
That was why the career politicians are desperate to get him out of the White House. If the Citizens of this Country start taking their power back, they won’t be able to enrich themselves through corruption. We need term limits. Many are being used as pawns crying for socialism. This is GREAT for the swamp dwellers. It would ensure they would retain their power and obtain even more control over our lives and the money we earn. It would prevent Citizens from opposing them without a revolution. Socialism doesn’t work due to human nature. It gives the top power and control over individual lives. This allows the citizens to become slaves to the government.

**Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.**
Why should anybody who has worked hard their whole life, accumulated some wealth, have to give that up to people who have the mentality “If it’s free, it’s for me.” Nobody wants to work to achieve the benefits. This is a good article and should be taught in schools so the younger generation learns that not everything free is good. Unfortunately the opinion of the vast majority of people believe that unlike Venezuela, Germany, prior Soviet Union, China, Cuba and wherever socialism is practiced, it can’t happen here as we are too wealthy or the voters will not allow it to happen. Unless there is vocal and political opposition to such a policy, anything can happen.

I remembered a story I read in the Soviet Union in the early 90s – very rare for them to see Americans at the time. I lived with a family, and the mother of the family was an aerospace engineer for the MIG design bureau. She told me one day that she was getting a big promotion with a lot more responsibility. I asked her if that meant she would have a bigger salary, more access to basic foodstuffs, better ranking in apartment lotteries, etc. She instead pulled out a small banner with a picture of Lenin, underneath was written in Russian: “To the winner of the Socialist Competition.”

**She said that was what you got for a promotion – a banner.**
She rolled it up and put it in my hands and said “please, take this back to your country and show people what this is. And what this is is nonsense. I want to feed my family, I want to buy jeans and shop at a GAP. I want a normal life like you have in the West. Instead we get this. It doesn’t work, tell your country about it!” I will never forget this.

What happened in Venezuela is somewhat unique in that socialism usually cannot take hold in a successful country with a vibrant economy. It does not appeal to people who enjoy a good standard of living- it needs rife political discontent and poverty to stir protest and anarchy. The countries that instituted true socialist economic policies before Venezuela did so because the country had a failed economy, the people were basically starving and embraced the siren song of socialism out of desperation. Venezuela has the dubious distinction of being a nation where socialism destroyed a wealthy country with a strong economy basically because the people voluntarily and freely chose it through popular vote. And as long as we have socialist/communist sympathizers (PIMP-athizers..) allowed to spread hate freely, we will move in the very same direction.

**Americans would not accept Socialism.**
Government workers and contractors would be cut in half. School teachers pay slashed. Medical staff making minimum wage. Farmers raising 10 cows would get to keep 2. Manufacturing would be non-existent. Automobiles became obsolete when people could not afford new ones or parts to repair old ones. Roads, bridges and infrastructure fail everywhere. Power grid and phone service are unreliable at best. Come spring no one is planting flowers and greening up their lawns. No Summer Vacations, No 4th of July. Stores close due to no Christmas Shopping Season. No Amazon Prime, No ebay. Given a few years this is Cortex and Saunders Utopia. I personally say NO THANKS!!

The people who want socialism in this country don’t have any money, but they’ve never really experienced poverty. If the country goes socialist, they’ll get the opportunity to find out what poverty and no health care is really like. It’s not racism, it’s not xenophobia, it’s THIS that worries me about immigration. If millions of immigrants with the same mind set that existed in Venezuela are nationalized then the result might be as in Venezuela. I see some of the early signs in the US right now, without nationalization. Many of those immigrants seek freedom; they are running from socialism not towards it.

No system is perfect, but socialism is one of the most powerful destructive forces in the universe. It severely punishes hard working successful producers/entrepreneurs in order to provide a good life for EVERYONE no matter how lazy and unethical. Why would anyone work hard in an environment where success is severely punished as you see your hard earned income confiscated by the government and redistributed to people, many of whom are lazy and don’t want to work or try to gain the skills needed to succeed in life.

You’ll hear people refer to Denmark or Sweden, but these countries are not embracing socialism. They are social democracies with progressive taxation. They embrace free market capitalism in conjunction with a large welfare state. In the U.S., we’ve had PROGRESSIVE taxation for decades and an ever expanding welfare state. Socialism isn’t the answer. We need to figure out the best way to deal with our welfare state and ever increasing government debt. This includes strong incentives for able bodied people to have to work to survive.  The Democratic party does not want to hear things like this. They are going farther and farther left. It may take a few years, but the country is certainly headed in that direction thanks in part to the far left liberal educators in our universities.

The reason so many millennials believe in socialism is because the progressives (socialists) have infiltrated our schools and colleges and have brainwashed a whole generation. Parents of this generation have been self-absorbed in their personal lives and have not paid attention to what was happening in the schools. The few parents that did were lambasted as “loonies” and “conspiracy theorists”. These children were taught that everything America did was wrong and the so-called social justice warriors were and are dupes for power hungry despots. Nothing creates wealth and opportunity like capitalism (true capitalism, not the crony capitalism of the left) and personal freedom. We don’t need fake “equality of outcomes” we need equality of opportunity.

**That is not provided by socialist policies.**
A professor asked his students at the start of the semester if they preferred socialist grading, the average of the grades to be assigned to each. The student by vote, barely agreed. When the first test was completed, the usual bell curve existed. The ‘A’ and ‘’B’ students were angry while the ‘D’ and ‘F’ students were pleased. Everyone received a ‘C’. The second test completed, the usual bell curve existed only it was shifted to the left. The ‘A’ students weren’t going to work as hard for a ‘C’ and the ‘F’ students were going to continue on their path. When the last test was completed, as expected, the entire class received an ‘F’. No one cared anymore since their individual effort didn’t effect the outcome in a significant way. THAT’S SOCIALISM

Dems have already said they want to rewrite the constitution. Dems are truly the enemy in this country.   Sadly, their behavior seems to support the claim. Whatever happened to the freedom loving, law and God respecting, get to work democrat party of the 50’s and 60’s?
The Democratic Party of the 50s and 60s was to the left of the current Dem party. They were pro labor, anti Wall Street, and supported ambitious social programs. Truman tried to get universal healthcare passed. The 1% vs 99% is an old argument given by socialists.

What they don’t tell people is that the oligarchs under the capitalist system are replaced by oligarchs in the socialist system, and a new 1% vs 99% is created. Only now the haves have less and the have nots have even less. And the haves maintain control with a rifle. The majority of Danish politicians intuitively believe that capitalists are an unpleasant necessity to generate the revenues to fund the social welfare state.” The above statement is cut from an article European Socialism: Why America Doesn’t Want It (forbes.com) The point is that even in the utopian socialist countries, they recognize that socialism can not be sustained without capitalism funding it.

**In other words, SOCIALISM DOES NOT WORK!!**

I have been around a few decades and have learned a few things, among them:
-You can tell some people something until you are blue in the face and they still have to learn it the hard way -Usually every generation has to learn the same things that the previous generation had to learn. -Wisdom is not inherited. I hope we don‘t embrace socialism, because it is hard to restore what socialism destroys.

**The challenge we conservatives have is that we don’t work together.**
The left works together across all sorts of different leftist organizations like a finely oiled machine. Each of the different conservative groups works independently. Even the TEA parties don’t talk/think/strategize together. I’ve said this for years to assorted conservative groups and always get push-back. They say things like “we’re grass roots, we have to work alone”. Really? Can’t get more grass roots than our forefathers, yet working together didn’t turn NJ into NY: they all united to fight the British and create America. Conservatives are like a bunch of gnats: annoying but tolerable. But if we united we’d be like a swarm of deadly bees.

**Sounds great but they are already killing you in asymmetrical ways.**
If they can fire you, cause you to lose your job, they’ve got you economically weak. If they can shut off your electricity, your internet, your phones… you’re in trouble without a face to face gunfight. Who are you going to go and shoot? How will you organize your militia?

  Common sense or Economics is no longer taught in Schools or Colleges..

**You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.**
“If they support “socialism” actually have in mind the generous welfare states seen in Europe…” Apparently, these 37% either pay no taxes now, or don’t mind having the government take 50-60% of their income as these “generous welfare states seen in Europe” take from their citizens in taxes. There is no “free lunch”. Socialism has failed in more than 35 countries. It only works until you run out of other people’s money. Same old story, different players. The one thing they have in common is that they all are in it for the power to steal all the money they want for themselves. Some things never change. All you people in the USA that think Socialism is the way to go, should ask for a refund from whatever college you attended.

It comes down to human nature – a third of all people, by nature, won’t do anything if they don’t have to – perhaps that percentage is lower or higher but the reality is that if people who are able to work but choose not to work and are taken care of regardless of their contribution to society the country will eventually collapse – socialism or not the US has already taken that path toward financial collapse.

After the depression, **those people (AND THEIR CHILDREN) my parents never forgot** for the rest of their lives. They saved and planned for another one right up until they DIE/D.

The lesson of the Depression is that Capitalism without regulations will cause economic collapses. Bankers tricked people into investing into stocks that they wanted to sell off at higher profits. Presidents knowing that the stock market couldn’t keep going up but their friends on Wall Street lying and saying everything is okay. The regulations created were the solutions to the lessons we learned. The conservatives lifting the regulations over and over is futile. Humans are inherently greedy is the reason the depression happened. The programs created AFTER the depression helped to save those affected by it.
There wouldn’t have been an insured place to save money if not for the social programs after the great depression. No Social Security to help those that were wiped out after the depression. It’s funny that you use a time when the most social programs were added to the country to say that social programs are bad.   Today, even though **the lesson of socialism & communism has been learned**, Americans seem willing to forget that lesson. I sincerely fear for our future. Not for me, but for the generations to come after I am long gone.

Real Problem with Socialism there should be no room for any kind of collectivism in a Republic just as there should be no room for cancer in a healthy body. The antibodies of the Republic are failing: Faith in God, Love of Family, Conscience of Sacred Duty, Patriotism, and Common Sense. Because we have abandoned those, our Republic is dying. If we return to those principles, we will flourish once again. And in return we must if we want to live. Venezuela’s soul was killed by abundance obtained without effort and administered without intelligence.

**See the results. See your future if we don’t do a 180 now, America.**
  While not supporting socialism, it is important to point out the importance of a true free market. If the U.S. drug companies want to continue raising the price of insulin, I should be able to purchase it from Canada and not be forced to pay their excessive prices.
When will conservatives support real capitalism with REAL transparency in pricing and true competition? Instead what we get is crony capitalism where companies make it impossible for consumers to compare prices and services by burying everything in complicated price structures and fine print.

**Every ism except capitalism is basically the same.**
That is why the US has always been the shining city on the hill. If we turn our backs on what created us, we will economically become no better than the rest of the world. If we let our guard down militarily, Russia and/or China will overrun the entire world   Some people do not understand.. once you open a door – it’s not that easy to close it when things start going wrong – and not as anticipated.

There is no reset and no undo – to fix the harm done.
This is life, there is no “trial run”.   Why isn’t the caravan heading to Venezuela?

**If capitalism is evil and Socialism is the Answer?**
This is true they pay 65% to 70% in taxes to support their social programs. Additionally, they have started reducing some of their social programs due to the negative impact it is having on the wealth of the country as their wealth is declining and they already see that socialism is not sustainable long term. Another shining example of how socialism doesn’t work, yet the left continues to promote it like it actually works better than capitalism.

**Let’s all put our heads in the sand and pretend that it would work here.**
When you remove the incentive to succeed, you remove the success needed to build the country.  Because they know where freedom and opportunity live. In democracies, not leftie dictatorships.   One of the major reasons why illegal immigrants want to cross the US borders and live in this country is the sad economic conditions of their country due to the wrong decisions made by their corrupt leaders.

**We cannot allow this to happen in the United States.**
Just take a look at  The devastating effect of socialism in Venezuela is an excellent campaign material for the 2020 election, it is opening the eyes of the American Voters what they can expect in the future if they decide to switch to a Socialist Government by voting for Sanders, Cortez, Warren, Biden, Booker, Harris, etc.

**They are the nails that will seal the coffin of the American Economy.**
The only people that prosper under Socialism are those killing the people to enforce it. Venezuelans went willingly into this trap with the lure of FREE everything. That the Leaders would punish those BAD, EVIL, NASTY Corporations. And when they were thrust into power, they did just that. Then every aspect of Socialist Government did what they always have done, they took that money and spent it on themselves.

**When the people complained, they killed them.**
Socialism does not work as the individual rights are necessarily taken from the individual in order to mandate collective rights. The inescapable result is absolute power by a single person or entity, which is corrupt. Human nature dictates this which you cannot change. Socialism is the step prior to communism and always ends in loss of individual human lives.

  Young people believe that socialism has the ability to take our current society and only make it better. What they don’t realize is that our society in its current shape would have to be dismantled and many people killed for insubordination before the socialist utopia can even begin to be implemented.  So, again I ask, what is worse: An evil employer that you can’t walk away from or an evil Government that kills you for complaining?

The people here think they want socialism, once it happens there will be no going back. The ones who want it never lived under it a single day off their lives. I find people here so out of touch. Why do you want hordes of undocumented people in your country? How can you not see partisanship has taken over parts of your government, and the parties come before the country?

**To be a socialist dictator you must find the money to do so.**
They can’t tax the rich and industry 70% to get their funds to prop up socialist programs so they have to take over, nationalize, industries and kick the people that built those industries out of the country. Then they milk those industries dry without with no reinvestment. Then as the industries fail they are forced to curb those social programs that lead to failure of the socialist system.   Joe McCarthy was right, Hollywood and Washington are filled with communists. They are now very worried that our current President is causing Americans to see them as they are. So they are on the attack.

**They are victims of capitalism and we are evil.**
They call us racist, homophobic, misogynist, xenophobic, etc. This is to take the focus off their communist goals and policies. You might want to read the goals of the “Open Borders Foundation” which Mr. George Soros founded in 1985? The foundation funds over 2.300 liberal groups like “Planned Parenthood”. Soros has given about $40 Billion to the foundation since it opened. “No Government, Borders, or Religion, with the ‘Elite Billionaires’ in control”! Soros owns the Dems and liberal media.

    A large part of the country is asleep to what is happening but, desperate and lazy for all they can get. Socialism just creates people to be dependent. Capitalism empowers people to be independent. This is what Bernie, AOC and anyone in an elected party from a Socialist standpoint brings. Marx was a German philosopher, not an economist. But he had a drinking problem. And when he drank, he pretended he was an economics expert (to hustle for free drinks, I suppose).

Most of what he knew about economics, Much like AOC, most of what he learned came from barroom chitchats with drunks. If he were alive today, he likely would be an expert on sports, as sports are the main discourse in bars today. One day, the gullible son of a rich man overheard one of Marx’s drunken, barroom pontifications; bought into Marx’s ramblings hook line and sinker; and gave financial wings to a new economic theory (philosophy?). And unthinking people lined-up and followed them down dead-end roads.

The only place Marxism ever worked was in Marx’s and Engels’ imaginations.
(Plus, Marxism has a penchant for corruption, violence, and repression.) Marx tried to meld Frederick Hegel’s ideas (Hegel was another German philosopher that some call “the father of Fascism”) with socialism. Socialism had only been tried on a tiny scale before, but it completely captured the drunken philosopher’s impaired imagination. Marxism envisioned both a revolutionary stage followed by an adjustment period when the government would have immense dictatorial powers.

But since absolute power corrupts absolutely, no Communist nation ever got beyond the dictatorial stages of development. Plus, no one had ever paused to figure out how the government would work after the repressive dictators supposedly stepped down of their own accords.

**It will happen. It has always happened.**
Socialism sounds like the magic bullet to fix all the problems the millennials see in America, the high cost of education, homelessness and healthcare for all. The problem is they don’t see the cost of all of it, which is that the people that actually work have to fully support those that do not or will not. Taxes will automatically go to the 60-70% range for middle income earners and even higher for top earners. You lose the freedom of choice under socialism.

**Socialism and Communism have always failed.**
It was the massive black market (capitalism) in the USSR that kept it going as long as it did. The much ballyhooed Scandinavian countries gave up cradle-to-grave socialism because it does not work, and actually have market economies. Lenin said, “Socialism is the gateway to communism.” They both will end up going one of two directions – to dictatorships like Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Chavez, Castro, Mao, etc., or back toward market economies and freedom. Why not just stick with what made this country the greatest country on earth? Liberty, freedom, individual responsibility, market economy, and governed of the people, by the people, for the people, under a Constitution that was designed for a people of morals and good values, who recognized the importance and providence of God.

Cdl. Karl Lehmann passed away Sunday at age 81

MAINZ, Germany (ChurchMilitant.com) – An influential German cardinal once part of a liberal cabal of dissident prelates has died. The Fall of the Cabal.

Cardinal Karl Lehmann passed away on Sunday, at 81 years of age. He died in his home in Mainz, a town in Germany along the Rhine River.

The cardinal was formerly head of the German bishops’ conference 1987–2008. In May 2016, he complained about Vatican oversight in the selection of bishops. “Much greater attention should be given to an episcopal candidate’s theological competence than his formal orthodoxy,” he said.

Cardinal Lehmann was a member of the St. Gallen Mafia, instrumental in getting Pope Francis elected in 2013. The secretive group had been conspiring for years to get a reform-minded radical elected to the papacy. Although the group disbanded in 2005 when it failed to elect Argentina’s Cdl. Jorge Bergoglio to the papal see, it was resurrected in 2013 after the sudden abdication of Pope Benedict.

On the occasion of Cdl. Lehmann’s death on Sunday, Cdl. Reinhard Marx head of the German bishops, issued a statement praising the deceased prelate: “The Church of Germany is bowing humbly in front of a personality who influenced the Catholic Church worldwide.”

Cardinal Marx has gained notoriety for suggesting married priests as a solution for priest shortages; for allegedly supporting a special blessing for same-sex couples; and for promoting Holy Communion for the unrepentant divorced and civilly remarried, among other things. In 2015, Marx was part of a secretive meeting of about 50 liberal and heretical church leaders in what later became known as the “shadow council.”‘The Saint Gallen Group’ is a sort of posh name. But in reality we said of ourselves, and of that group, ‘The Mafia.

In August 2015, papal advisor Austen Ivereigh mentioned the St. Gallen Mafia in his biography of the Holy Father, The Great Reformer: Francis and the Making of a Radical Pope. Ivereigh claimed the St. Gallen Mafia was instrumental in Pope Francis’ election to the papacy by the College of Cardinals during the 2013 conclave.

Among the alleged members of this secretive group were Belgian Cdl. Godfried Danneels, Dutch Bp. Adriaan Van Luyn, Cdl. Walter Kasper and Cdl. Karl Lehmann from Germany, Cdl. Achille Silvestrini of Italy and British Cdl. Cormac Murphy-O’Connor.

In September, Danneels was promoting his recent biography when he confirmed the existence of the cabal. He said in an intervieww on video, “‘The Saint Gallen Group’ is a sort of posh name. But in reality we said of ourselves, and of that group, ‘The Mafia.'”

It appears the St. Gallen Group formed in the late 1990s to combat Pope St. John Paul II and then-Cdl. Joseph Ratzinger. At the time, Cdl. Ratzinger was known as one of the closest aids to the Holy Father. The St. Gallen Mafia was an informal group for high-ranking Catholic clergy with radical views, who were afraid that Cdl. Ratzinger would become the next Pope.

The secretive coalition supposedly threw its weight behind then-Cdl. Jorge Bergoglio in the 2005 conclave. They unsuccessfully opposed the election of Cdl. Ratzinger, who became Pope Benedict XVI. The St. Gallen Mafia backed Cdl. Bergoglio again at the 2013 conclave after Pope Benedict XVI resigned. Their 2013 campaign was successful, and then-Cdl. Bergoglio became Pope Francis.

Soon after Cdl. Danneels’ interview, his own authorized biographers backpedaled on these claims. The St. Gallen Mafia, according to the authors of Cdl. Danneels’ 2015 biography, did not campaign per se for the election of then-Cdl. Bergoglio. Rather, the group found the Latin American cardinal was in line with their own goals for radical reform.

This type of organized campaigning for papal election during a conclave is technically forbidden. In chapter six of the 1996 Apostolic Constitution Universi Dominici Gregis, Pope St. John Paul II issued a condemnations against various forms of politicking among the cardinal electors at conclaves.

The Supreme Pontiff warned, “The Cardinal electors shall further abstain from any form of pact, agreement, promise or other commitment of any kind which could oblige them to give or deny their vote to a person or persons.”

Such behavior, paragraph 82 of the Apostolic Constitution continues, merits a latae sententiae excommunication. In other words, cardinals who act in that manner are automatically excommunicated.

The Church in Germany, headed by the likes of Cdl. Marx and the late Cdl. Lehmann, is spiritually and statistically barren. While raking in billions each year, thanks to the government’s Church tax, the Catholic Church in Germany is hemorrhaging laity by the hundreds of thousands each year, and suffering from declining vocations in its seminaries.

Alleges a right-wing conspiracy at work

COLOGNE, Germany (ChurchMilitant.com) – A leftist Vatican expert is alleging that one-third of Catholic clerics are against Pope Francis, even working to incite a “cultural war” to undermine the pontiff’s influence.

Marco Politi, former Vatican correspondent said “It is not a minority, I would estimate that 30% of the clergy, the committed laity and bishops of the world church are on this line,” which he describes as “a very strong, conservative, traditionalist line.”

“There has been opposition to Francis for years,” he said. “Some bishops and cardinals are always out front, but behind them is a not inconsiderable part of the clergy and laypeople who are against Francis and any reforms in the Church.”

As an example of the opposition the pope faces, the Vaticanista pointed to Abp. Carlo Maria Viganò’s recent “very aggressive” manifesto warning of the “creation of a world government” related to the pandemic measures of the Church and the government.

Bearing the brunt of Politi’s critique were the signatories of the manifesto, including former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith Cdl. Gerhard Müller and Hong Kong archbishop emeritus Cdl. Joseph Zen, whom he accused of representing the “part of the Church hierarchy that wants the culture struggle.”Some bishops and cardinals are always in the front row, but behind them is a not inconsiderable part of the clergy and laypeople who are against Francis and any reforms in the Church.

Politi chastised the signatories as ignoring the “commandment of charity and solidarity” which “require” the faithful to “stay at home.”

Politi expressed surprise at the emphasis on “the importance of Holy Mass” for many faithful who considered it “a sign of tyranny that one cannot go to church for six or seven weeks.”

He castigated faithful who are hungering for the sacraments, alleging they are the “same people [who] don’t care about the regions in the Amazon, where Christians can only celebrate Holy Mass once a year because there aren’t enough priests.” In fact, opposition to married clergy on the part of prelates like Cdl. Robert Sarah has less to do with promoting convenience than preserving the sanctity of the priesthood.

Politi pointed to Islam as an example of how to behave safely during the pandemic. “Mecca is completely empty,” he said, adding that Muslims “had to organize the festivities of Ramadan differently” while the signatories “obviously don’t care.”

Politi did not, however, talk about the pre-emptive moves the pope himself has been making in the midst of the cultural war.

For example, Church Militant reported on Francis’ surprise announcement in 2019, that 13 clerics were to be added to the College of Cardinals, among them several of the pontiff’s key leftist allies.

Reflecting on the appointments, Catholic World News editor Philip Lawler said they represent a turn to the Left: “You have leading representatives of what you might call the liberal bloc in the European bishops’ world, and that’s the way these appointments are trending.”

Other observers said the pope was setting the stage for the next papal conclave, maneuvering chess pieces on the papal board game to ensure that his vision endures for generations to come.

Cardinal Godfried Danneels, 85, former head of the Mechelen-Brussels archdiocese in Belgium, has died.

The 85-year-old retired cardinal died Thursday morning. The current archbishop of Mechelen and Brussels, Cdl. Jozef De Kesel, announced Cdl. Danneels’ passing, saying, “We continue to thank him gratefully. May he rest in God’s peace.”

Danneels was part of a coalition of left-leaning Church leaders known as the St. Gallen Mafia — so named after their meeting place in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Known as a liberal in the Church, Cdl. Danneels spoke favorably in 2013 of the legalization of gay marriage in Belgium, telling a Dutch Newspaper, “I think it’s a positive development states are free to open up civil marriage for gays if they want.”

Another member of the St. Gallen Mafia, German Cdl. Karl Lehmann, died in March of last year at the age of 81.

As a result of the increase of legalization and decriminalization laws around the US and all over the world, both medical marijuana and recreational marijuana use are on the rise. People are now using CBD as an aid to sleep better at night, as part of their beauty regime, or to manage their chronic pain, whereas THC is mostly used in social situations, in spiritual practices, and for relaxation, so naturally the market is expanding rather fast.
The cannabis plant has been consumed for thousands of years, dating back to ancient civilizations. The preferred method of consumption varies from person to person – some prefer ingestion, others inhalation, and some even use topicals for treating localized pain. However, the topic of this article isn’t cannabis consumption methods, rather the effects of marijuana and how much weed it takes to kill a person.
So, let’s dig into the side effects of cannabis consumption and allegations of marijuana overdoses, like increased heart rate, blood pressure, and heart attacks in cannabis users, and give you the answer on whether too many
weed brownies or joints can kill you.

**Is a Marijuana Overdose Possible?**
This is a subject that has been debated among scientists and researchers
for the longest time, and the answer is a definitive no. Let’s explain why.

As a result of the increase of legalization and decriminalization laws around the US and all over the world, both medical marijuana and recreational marijuana use are on the rise. People are now using CBD as an aid to sleep better at night, as part of their beauty regime, or to manage their chronic pain, whereas THC is mostly used in social situations, in spiritual practices, and for relaxation, so naturally the market is expanding rather fast.
The cannabis plant has been consumed for thousands of years, dating back to ancient civilizations. The preferred method of consumption varies from person to person – some prefer ingestion, others inhalation, and some even use topicals for treating localized pain. While there haven’t been cases of people overdosing on weed, there have
been cases where people who were under the influence of weed had health complications which resulted in death:

In March 2014, a Colorado student committed suicide after consuming a cannabis-infused edible.
In 2013, two young men died unexpectedly after they had cardiovascular complications as a result of smoking cannabis.
In 2014, a UK male died as a result of a heart attack.
The user had been smoking marijuana consistently for 10 years.
In 2018, a boy passed away as a result of kidney failure caused by
Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS).
Throughout the years, coroners have had a number of documented deaths caused by cannabis toxicity and cardiotoxicity.

**Marijuana Consumption and Drugged Driving.**
The National Institute on Drug Abuse gave a warning that smoking weed and driving under the influence of weed may increase the risk of car accidents. Since the effects of THC impair the motor skills and judgment skills of drivers, consuming weed prior to driving may increase the chances of drivers getting into car accidents.
To prevent this, police officers have started roadside drug testing for cannabis orally, although new breathalyzers are currently developed which will enable officers to check for the presence of weed at the scene.
If you and your friends are thinking about smoking weed, make sure you have a designated driver who hasn’t been smoking to make sure you’re safe when you’re in the car. If everyone has been smoking weed, wait a few hours before getting behind the wheel to give your body time to detox from the psychoactive effects of THC.

**What Is the Lethal Dose of Cannabis?**
Research on animals regarding cannabis toxicity proved that a dog
would need to consume 3000 mg/kg of the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in order to overdose on weed. The same isn’t true for people.
Research on drug abuse has been done for years in order to answer whether weed consumption can be fatal. A crucial point in the 1988 Department of Justice brief in the matter of the “Marijuana rescheduling petition” concluded that a person needed to “consume nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana within 15 minutes to induce a lethal response.” The marijuana cigarettes supplied by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) contained 0.9 grams of weed, therefore a smoker would need to smoke between 20,000 and 40,000 joints to die.

**What About Synthetic Cannabis?**
The above-mentioned information is in regard to naturally produced marijuana. Synthetic marijuana, on the other hand, has more health risks for users. In the past years, there have been cases of marijuana overdoses caused by bad batches of synthetic cannabis, people overdosing on synthetic weed and wandering into traffic, or experiencing other negative effects. A few years ago,
a record of 42 overdoses and 29 deaths were recorded as a result of a synthetic pot substance MDMB-CHMICA. As time goes by, we can only expect more of these products to hit the illegal cannabis market.

**Side Effects From Weed Consumption.**
Apart from the not-so-serious effects caused by weed consumption, like a case of the munchies, bloodshot eyes, cottonmouth, and others, weed can have other physical and mental health effects on users.
Cannabis may trigger a genetic predisposition for psychosis or schizophrenia in users;
Young adults who have been consuming weed for a long time may exhibit risky behaviours and aggression, as well as other side effects.
Pregnant women who are using cannabis can expect it to negatively affect their children and increase the chances of the child developing anxiety and other impairments in cognition.
Adolescents who use cannabis aged 12-18 have a greater risk of developing alcohol use disorder (AUD) and cannabis use disorder (CUD) later in life.
Smoking marijuana can also affect heart health including heart rate and blood pressure, therefore, individuals with heart conditions should refrain from smoking marijuana.

Information about the toxicity of THC is primarily based on results from animal studies. The toxicity depends on the route of administration and the laboratory animal.

The estimated lethal dose of intravenous dronabinol (also known as Marinol) is 30 mg/kg, meaning lethality is unlikely. The typical dosage administered is two 2.5 mg capsules daily; for an 80 kg man (~170 lb) to die from a THC overdose, this would translate to 960 capsules infused intravenously to achieve this high a dose. Non-fatal overdoses have occurred: “Significant CNS symptoms in antiemetic studies followed oral doses of 0.4 mg/kg (28 mg/70 kg) of dronabinol capsules.”

Its status as an illegal drug in most countries can make research difficult;

Many people have caught COVID-19 over the past 20 months, despite their best efforts, or because they didn’t take enough precautions against the coronavirus. Data is just starting to emerge about how protected they may be against another infection. As with most illnesses, contracting COVID-19 provides immune “memory” that helps protect against a future infection.
But it’s still unclear how sick a person has to get with COVID-19 to develop enough immune memory to be protective and for how long. That’s why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends even people who have had COVID-19 get vaccinated against it.
A growing body of research suggests infection plus vaccination provides the strongest protection against a wide range of variants, possibly for a long time.
People who were infected and then vaccinated some months later have “what’s called ‘hybrid immunity,’ which is like super-immunity,” said Warner Greene, a virologist at the Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco.

This combined protection seems to last a long time, according to a new study
in the journal Science. It may last far longer than vaccination alone, he said, though that hasn’t been proven yet. Greene warns against seeking out infection to get such good protection, though. Severe disease is no fun and can strike anyone.
Infectious disease expert Dr. Monica Gandhi, said public health officials too often downplay the protection provided by infection.
“To deny natural immunity does not generate trust,” said Gandhi, an infectious disease expert at the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco General Hospital.
Getting vaccinated three months – or even better, six months – after infection provides the best possible protection, she said. But adding a second shot offers almost no additional benefit over the first, nor do people who have been fully vaccinated and infected need a booster at this point.

**“If you’re naturally immune, get one dose,” Gandhi said.**
In a new study from the Rockefeller Institute in New York, researchers
found that people who get vaccinated after catching COVID-19 may be protected against a wider range of variants than people who get vaccinated alone.
Still, said Theodora Hatziioannou, an author on the study, if you have to pick one, go with vaccination.
Shots, she said, lead to higher levels of neutralizing antibodies, naturally made substances that fight an infection. Neutralizing antibodies wane with time, so the more you start out with, the better.
“At five-six months post-vaccination or infection,” she said, “the vaccinated participants had overall higher levels of neutralizing antibodies than the infected, including against variants.”

**There are still open questions when it comes to natural immunity and the protection it affords.**
It’s not clear, for instance, how soon someone can get infected with COVID-19 a second time.
The CDC “is actively working to learn more about reinfection to inform public health action,” according to spokesperson Kristen Nordlund.

“This is a priority area of research for CDC.”
For young, healthy people, an infection may provide 80% to 90% protection against a reinfection, she said. But in older adults and those who are immunocompromised, an infection may be less protective.
In Denmark, for instance, of nearly 12,000 people who tested positive during the first wave of coronavirus infections last year, more than 80% were protected in the second surge. But among those 65 and older, protection against repeat infection was only 47%. Protection didn’t seem to fade over time.
Milder or asymptomatic infections may provide less protection than severe ones. Unvaccinated people who had COVID-19 are more than twice as likely as fully vaccinated people to get COVID-19 again, Nordlund said.
Studies are still being done, she said, to better understand whether repeat infections are milder than initial ones.
“One would expect so,” Hatziioannou said. “The immune responses developed during the first infection should offer some protection against severe symptoms the second time around.”
But variants might make a difference. For example, she said, blood from people previously infected with the so-called beta coronavirus variant might not be able to fight the delta variant as well as people infected with the virus in its original form.

Jeffrey Shaman, an infectious disease epidemiologist at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, said it’s frustrating to be this far into the pandemic and still have so little understanding of repeat infections.
Though it should be relatively easy to count how many people get infected after vaccination – data the CDC stopped collecting this spring – it’s much more challenging to learn how many people are getting repeat COVID-19 infections.
If they’re not very sick, he said, they are unlikely to report those infections.
Early studies suggested some people were developing different types of immune responses to infection, he said. Some developed protection against the virus’ spike protein, the same target of vaccines. They seemed less likely to develop a repeat infection.
But it’s possible that as the virus that causes COVID-19 continues to evolve, another variant will come along and people whose immune systems respond to a different part of the virus will be better protected, he said.

Dr. Robert Glatter, an emergency physician at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, said he worries about patients who had a severe reaction to COVID-19 the first time.
He has seen a number of patients whose symptoms are worse with a second infection, perhaps because they have immune cells that are “primed to respond in an exaggerated or more aggressive fashion during a reinfection.”
Countries that have tried to rely on natural infections to slow the spread of
the virus, such as Brazil and Iran, “have not prevented recurrent waves of infection,” Glatter said.
“There is no country in the world where natural infection and natural immunity has slowed the pace of the pandemic or helped to bring it under control.”

Allison Williams, ESPN reporter.
After reporting with ESPN for 15 years, Williams announced she would part ways with the network because she had declined the vaccine. Williams reported during ESPN’S college football broadcasts, and the network made vaccinations mandatory for staffers at live events at the beginning of August.
It is now required for all staffers. Williams posted on Instagram and said she is “so morally and ethically not aligned with this” as she and her husband are looking to have another child.
“Ultimately, I cannot put a paycheck over principle,” Williams said on Instagram. “And I will not sacrifice something that I believe and hold so strongly to maintain a career.”
**CDC analysis:** COVID-19 vaccines don’t increase risk of miscarriages in pregnant people

Washington Nationals Vice President Bob Boone informed the club he’s resigning rather than comply with the organization’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
Boone, 73, has been with Washington since 2004 and moved into his role as
VP and senior adviser to general manager Mike Rizzo after the 2015 season. He was assistant GM and vice president of player development from 2006-2013.
The Nationals said employees were notified of the policy on Aug. 12 and had until Aug. 26 to provide proof of full vaccination or one dose or apply for an exemption.
“As a company, we have a responsibility to do everything we can to keep one another safe and felt that mandating vaccines was the absolute right thing to do for our employees and our community,” the team said in a statement released a week prior to Boone’s resignation.

Cole Popovich, Patriots assistant coach
Patriots co-offensive line coach Cole Popovich won’t be with the Patriots
this season due to the NFL’s guidelines related to the COVID-19 vaccine.
The NFL requires all Tier-1 employees to be vaccinated against the virus, which includes coaches, front office executives, equipment managers and scouts. Popovich, 36, joined the Patriots as a coaching assistant in 2016.
Patriots long snapper and Navy lieutenant Joe Cardona issued a statement
to Pro Football Focus about the NFL’s memo on COVID protocols.
“The NFL has taken a firm stance that will have massive implications to individual players. Ensuring every single player in the league is afforded the opportunity to earn every paycheck for which they are eligible is extremely important. As athletes, our time horizon for earning income is already volatile enough with factors we can control, let alone this new policy,” said Cardona.

Gray Television employees
An 18-year employee, Meggan Gray left her co-hosting role on WLOX-TV’s “Good Morning Mississippi” because she denied getting vaccinated.
“I may have lost my job, but I preserved my integrity,” Gray added in her Facebook post.
“I tried everything possible to keep my job, including offering to be tested on a weekly basis. My requests were denied.”
Linda Simmons, a reporter in Springfield, Missouri, who was with the company for 14 years, as well as Karl Bohnak, a meteorologist in Marquette, Michigan, were also fired after refusing the vaccination mandate.
“I value the freedom we all have to make our own informed decisions,”
Simmons said on Facebook. “I will miss you all, and I am sad to be leaving this way, but I have confidence that I am doing God’s will for me. I trust that He has good plans in store.”

Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn Nets guard
Though he’s not lost his job, he could start losing pay. Irving has been barred from the Brooklyn Nets games and practices until he gets vaccinated. If he continues to refuse, he could forfeit nearly $400,000 in salary for each game he misses.
On Instagram Live, Irving confirmed he hasn’t received the COVID-19 vaccine and added “nobody should be forced to do anything with their bodies.”
New York City’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires players to be vaccinated in order to play at Madison Square Garden or Barclays Center, the Nets’ home arena. Nets general manager Sean Marks said he had “no choice” but to keep Irving away from the team due to the mandate.
“This is my life,” Irving said. “I get to do whatever I want with this, this is one body that I get here. And you are telling me what to do with my body.”

Laura Osnes, Broadway actress
Osnes has starred in numerous Broadway productions, including “Cinderella,” and was set to star in a one-night preview of “Crazy for You” at Guild Hall in East Hampton of Long Island, NBC News reported.
But in August, Osnes said she withdrew from the one-night concert since all theaters were requiring the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Osnes said she was not offered a chance to get regularly tested for coronavirus instead.
“I believe individuals have the right to do the research, consult a doctor and come to their own conclusions before deciding whether or not to get any injection,” Osnes wrote.

Nick Rolovich, Washington State football coach – Bing
Rolovich, 42, was fired after less than two years with Washington State after refusing to meet the state’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Rolovich and other state employees all faced a deadline Monday to save their jobs — either be fully vaccinated or obtain approval for an exemption.
Rolovich made a plea for religious exemption but did not elaborate on his religious reasons for not being vaccinated. Rolovich attended a Catholic school and his family comes from a Catholic background, yet he declined to publicly confirm whether he identifies as Catholic.
Rolovich was not the only coach who refused the mandate; defensive tackles coach Ricky Logo, assistant head coach John Richardson, co-offensive coordinator Craig Stutzmann and offensive line coach Mark Weber were also fired.
“To be at this juncture today is unacceptable on so many levels and is antithetical to the WSU experience our student-athletes so richly deserve,” WSU athletics director Pat Chun said in a statement.

Rick Dennison, Vikings coordinator
Dennison, the club’s offensive line coach and run game coordinator parted ways with the team after refusing the vaccine mandate.
The 63-year-old joined the Vikings in 2019 and earned three Super Bowl wins in his career. In his absence, the Vikings promoted assistant O-line coach Phil Rauscher and hired Auburn special teams analyst Ben Steele as an assistant.

Rodrik David, Atlanta Falcons scout
The Atlanta Falcons fired a scout over his refusal to get a COVID-19 vaccine. David had worked with the team for four years, hired as a scouting assistant in 2017 and then promoted to pro scout with a focus on the Midwest.
The Falcons announced starting In August 2021, all regular full and part-time associates must be vaccinated in order “to maintain a safe working environment for all associates.”

For young, healthy people, an infection may provide 80% to 90% protection against a reinfection, she said. But in older adults and those who are immunocompromised, an infection may be less protective.
In Denmark, for instance, of nearly 12,000 people who tested positive during the first wave of coronavirus infections last year, more than 80% were protected in the second surge. But among those 65 and older, protection against repeat infection was only 47%. Protection didn’t seem to fade over time.
Milder or asymptomatic infections may provide less protection than severe ones. Unvaccinated people who had COVID-19 are more than twice as likely as fully vaccinated people to get COVID-19 again, Nordlund said.
Studies are still being done, she said, to better understand whether repeat infections are milder than initial ones.
“One would expect so,” Hatziioannou said. “The immune responses developed during the first infection should offer some protection against severe symptoms the second time around.”
But variants might make a difference. For example, she said, blood from people previously infected with the so-called beta coronavirus variant might not be able to fight the delta variant as well as people infected with the virus in its original form.

Jeffrey Shaman, an infectious disease epidemiologist at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, said it’s frustrating to be this far into the pandemic and still have so little understanding of repeat infections.
Though it should be relatively easy to count how many people get infected after vaccination – data the CDC stopped collecting this spring – it’s much more challenging to learn how many people are getting repeat COVID-19 infections.
If they’re not very sick, he said, they are unlikely to report those infections.
Early studies suggested some people were developing different types of immune responses to infection, he said. Some developed protection against the virus’ spike protein, the same target of vaccines. They seemed less likely to develop a repeat infection.
But it’s possible that as the virus that causes COVID-19 continues to evolve, another variant will come along and people whose immune systems respond to a different part of the virus will be better protected, he said.

Dr. Robert Glatter, an emergency physician at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, said he worries about patients who had a severe reaction to COVID-19 the first time.
He has seen a number of patients whose symptoms are worse with a second infection, perhaps because they have immune cells that are “primed to respond in an exaggerated or more aggressive fashion during a reinfection.”
Countries that have tried to rely on natural infections to slow the spread of
the virus, such as Brazil and Iran, “have not prevented recurrent waves of infection,” Glatter said.
“There is no country in the world where natural infection and natural immunity has slowed the pace of the pandemic or helped to bring it under control.”

New York City’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires players to be vaccinated in order to play at Madison Square Garden or Barclays Center, the Nets’ home arena. Nets general manager Sean Marks said he had “no choice” but to keep Irving away from the team due to the mandate.

Osnes has starred in numerous Broadway productions, including “Cinderella,” and was set to star in a one-night preview of “Crazy for You” at Guild Hall in East Hampton of Long Island, NBC News reported.
But in August, Osnes said she withdrew from the one-night concert since all theaters were requiring the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Osnes said she was not offered a chance to get regularly tested for coronavirus instead.
“I believe individuals have the right to do the research, consult a doctor and come to their own conclusions before deciding whether or not to get any injection,” Osnes wrote.

Nick Rolovich, Washington State football coach – Bing
Rolovich, 42, was fired after less than two years with Washington State after refusing to meet the state’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Rolovich and other state employees all faced a deadline Monday to save their jobs — either be fully vaccinated or obtain approval for an exemption.
Rolovich made a plea for religious exemption but did not elaborate on his religious reasons for not being vaccinated. Rolovich attended a Catholic school and his family comes from a Catholic background, yet he declined to publicly confirm whether he identifies as Catholic.
Rolovich was not the only coach who refused the mandate; defensive tackles coach Ricky Logo, assistant head coach John Richardson, co-offensive coordinator Craig Stutzmann and offensive line coach Mark Weber were also fired.
“To be at this juncture today is unacceptable on so many levels and is antithetical to the WSU experience our student-athletes so richly deserve,” WSU athletics director Pat Chun said in a statement.
