Scientific objectivity refers to the ability to judge without partiality or external influence.

Objectivity in the moral framework calls for moral codes to be assessed based on the well-being of the people in the society that follow it. Moral objectivity also calls for moral codes to be compared to one another through a set of universal facts and not through subjectivity. Illegal immigration may be a contributing factor to the coronavirus’ spread, but the lack of evidence makes this argument speculative. The available evidence suggests another explanation: low vaccination rates.
Coronavirus hot spots tend to be clustered far from the border or near the water, whereas the entire land border area with Mexico has fairly low rates.
The assertion that the U.S. border is “open” is a false talking point.

As coronavirus cases spike nationally, and especially in Florida, a blame game has erupted between President Joe Biden and Florida’s Republican governor, Ron DeSantis.

Florida has the second-highest per-capita coronavirus case load of any state as of Aug. 6, exceeding its level at any point during the pandemic. Florida also has the highest coronavirus hospitalization rate of any state, at more than three times the national average.

Biden pointed this out in remarks on Aug. 3. “Make no mistake,” he said. “The escalation of cases is particularly concentrated in states with low vaccination rates. Just two states, Florida and Texas, account for one-third of all new COVID-19 cases in the entire country. … Look, we need leadership from everyone. And if some governors aren’t willing to do the right thing to beat this pandemic, then they should allow businesses and universities who want to do the right thing to be able to do it.”

DeSantis unloaded on Biden during an Aug. 4 news conference in Panama City, Fla. “He’s imported more virus from around the world by having a wide open southern border. You have hundreds of thousands of people pouring across every month,” DeSantis said. “You have over 100 different countries where people are pouring through. Not only are they letting them through — they’re then farming them out all across our communities across this country. Putting them on planes, putting them on buses.”

DeSantis doubled down in a fundraising letter later that day: “Joe Biden has the nerve to tell me to get out of the way on COVID while he lets COVID-infected migrants pour over our southern border by the hundreds of thousands. No elected official is doing more to enable the transmission of COVID in America than Joe Biden with his open borders policies.”

Public health experts said it’s reasonable to be concerned about coronavirus spreading among migrants, especially if they’re living in close quarters. “It would be fair to say that detention centers, like prisons, are likely to be ‘hotspots’ for transmission,” said Babak Javid, a professor of medicine at the University of California-San Francisco. “We saw a lot of this last year,” earlier in the pandemic.

But they said there is no evidence it’s happening on the scale that DeSantis described. It may well be that immigrants coming illegally into the country are contributing to COVID-19 caseloads, “but given the extensive transmission already in the U.S., the immigration contribution is akin to pouring a bucket of water into a swimming pool,” said William Schaffner, a professor of preventive medicine at Vanderbilt University. “It’s hard to measure and pretty trivial.”U.S.-Mexico border not ‘wide open’

In a statement, DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw focused on the migrants who make it across the border without detection. She acknowledged that migration is not the only factor in COVID-19 spread. “We know tens of thousands of migrants cross the border illegally every month,” she said. “Officials don’t have a precise number, because the border is porous, and it stands to reason that many people enter undetected. … Some of those countries where a significant portion of the migrants hail from, such as Haiti, have extremely low rates of COVID vaccination.”

Still, it is wrong to say, as DeSantis did, that the southern border is “wide open” for everyone to just come into the country. Most people who are encountered are turned away under a public health law invoked by Trump’s administration and continued by Biden. Border officials — at and between ports of entries — recorded more than 822,000 encounters with migrants from February to June, and most of those people were expelled under the public health law. These individuals don’t get to stay in the country to request asylum or other immigration protection.

Nicole Hallett, a professor and director of the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic at the University of Chicago Law School, told PolitiFact that the apprehension numbers reflect people trying and failing to cross multiple times. “Apprehensions have increased because of the strict COVID restrictions, not because restrictions have eased,” Hallett said. The Biden administration has allowed certain groups of migrants to file for immigration protection, such as children arriving alone at the southern border and some families with young children.

The Department of Homeland Security, however, said it had recently resumed expedited removal flights for certain families who recently arrived at the southern border. Officials in February began to let in asylum seekers who were waiting for a resolution of their U.S. immigration cases in Mexico under the Trump-era Remain in Mexico program. (Biden ended that program in June.)

The United States is also temporarily limiting inbound land border crossings from Mexico; non-essential travel is not allowed. Customs and Border Protection told PolitiFact in April that personnel do initial inspections for symptoms or risk factors associated with COVID-19 and consult with onsite medical personnel, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or local health systems as appropriate.

DHS also said in April that it works with state and local authorities and non-governmental organizations to make sure that all migrants are tested for COVID-19 “at some point during their immigration journey.” This doesn’t mean that the chance of coronavirus spread on the border is zero. For instance, McAllen, Texas, along the border with Mexico, has seen an increasing number of migrants arriving in recent weeks.

According to the city, more than 7,000 migrants have tested positive for the coronavirus, out of 87,000 migrants who had passed through the city. But drawing a clear line between migrants and the spread of the coronavirus throughout the U.S., as DeSantis did, requires a sense of how many migrants are evading detection and how many of them are infected. “Otherwise, it is a statement without any facts to substantiate it,” said Nicole Gatto, an associate professor in Claremont Graduate University’s school of community and global health.

The data for coronavirus cases provides poor support for the notion that the virus is being spread by illegal immigration. Significant outbreaks are happening well inland from the border, in states like Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky and Missouri. Public health experts express skepticism that illegal border crossings are to blame for these outbreaks.

If DeSantis were correct, the land border between the U.S. and Mexico would be among the hardest-hit parts of the country, since even if migrants eventually disperse to other locations, they would have an impact on coronavirus rates locally first.

However, the entire land border between San Diego and the southern tip of Texas shows relatively low case rates compared with the entire southeastern quadrant of the U.S. Given this data, “it doesn’t seem right that illegal immigration is driving the current surge,” said Javid, the University of California-San Francisco professor. There’s also a more plausible explanation for the coronavirus surge’s current pattern: Case rates are higher in places with lower rates of vaccination.

An analysis by the New York Times found that at the end of July, counties with vaccination rates below 30% had coronavirus case rates well over double the case rates in counties with at least 60% vaccination. And five of the six least-vaccinated states — Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi — are all squarely within the geographical quadrant of the country that has the highest case rates.

Some of the hardest-hit places, such as southwestern Missouri, are far from the border, while others, such as southern Louisiana, are on the water. “The pattern of distribution of coronavirus cases does not correspond in any way to immigrant movement,” said Arthur Caplan, director of the division of medical ethics at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine. “And the paths to ‘bringing’ COVID here are many, including tourists, diplomats, boat workers, student exchange, and cruises.”

Caplan said he views DeSantis’ statements as the latest in a long history of efforts to offload blame for infectious diseases on immigrants. “The notion of immigrants bringing disease has been alleged about Gypsies, Jews, Italians, Irish, and Blacks,” he said. “As we know from Ebola, SARS, and influenza, infections get here all the time. The issue is what we do to stop their spread.”

The Delta Variant Is Sending More Children to the Hospital. Are They Sicker?

Pilar Villarraga had spent much of the summer counting down the days until her daughter Sophia’s birthday. In early August, Sophia would turn 12 — and become officially eligible for a Covid-19 vaccine. “I didn’t want her to start school without the vaccine,” said Ms. Villarraga, who lives in Doral, Fla.

And then, in late July, just two weeks before the milestone birthday, Sophia caught the coronavirus. At first, she just had a fever, but on July 25, after four quiet days convalescing at home, her ribs began to hurt. The next day, Ms. Villarraga took her to the emergency room, where chest X-rays revealed that Sophia had developed pneumonia. She soon began coughing up blood.

Sophia was promptly admitted to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, in Miami.
Her parents, and their friends, were in shock. “I didn’t think that kids could get that sick,” Ms. Villarraga said.
But Sophia was one of roughly 130 children with Covid-19 who were admitted to a U.S. hospital that day, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That number has been climbing since early July; from July 31 to Aug. 6, 216 children with Covid were being hospitalized every day, on average, nearly matching the 217 daily admissions during the pandemic’s peak in early January.

Hospitals in coronavirus hot spots have been particularly hard hit. On a single day last week, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, in Little Rock, had 19 hospitalized children with Covid; Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, in St. Petersburg, Fla., had 15; and Children’s Mercy Kansas City, in Missouri, had 12. All had multiple children in the intensive care unit.
These numbers have sparked concerns that what had once seemed like the smallest of silver linings — that Covid-19 mostly spared children — might be changing. Some doctors on the front lines say they are seeing more critically
ill children than they have at any previous point of the pandemic and that the highly contagious Delta variant is likely to blame.
“Everybody is a little bit nervous about the possibility that the Delta variant could in fact be, in some way, more dangerous in kids,” said Dr. Richard Malley, a pediatric infectious disease specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Most children with Covid-19 have mild symptoms, and there is not yet enough evidence to conclude that Delta causes more severe disease in children than other variants do, scientists said. What is clear is that a confluence of factors — including Delta’s contagiousness and the fact that people under 12 are not yet eligible to be vaccinated — is sending more children to the hospital, especially in areas of the country where the virus is surging. “If you have more cases,
then at some point, of course it trickles down to children,” Dr. Malley said.

**Climbing cases**
Many children’s hospitals had been hoping for a quiet summer.
Several run-of-the-mill childhood viruses are less common during the warmer months, and national Covid rates had been declining through the spring. But last month, as Delta spread, that began to change. “The number of positive Covid tests started to climb in early July,” said Marcy Doderer, the President and Chief Executive of Arkansas Children’s Hospital. “And then that’s when we really started to see the kids get sick.”
The vaccines are effective against Delta — and provide powerful protection against severe disease and death — but children under 12 are not yet eligible
for them. So as more and more adults get vaccinated, children make up an increasing share of Covid cases; between July 22 and July 29, they accounted for 19 percent of reported new cases, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.

“They’re the unvaccinated,” said Dr. Yvonne Maldonado, a pediatric infectious-disease specialist at Stanford Medicine and chair of the A.A.P. Committee on Infectious Diseases. “That’s where we’re seeing all the new infections.”
From July 22 to July 29, nearly 72,000 new pediatric Covid cases were reported, almost twice as many as in the previous week, according to the association. At Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, 181 children tested positive for the virus in July, up from just 12 in June.
Most of those children have relatively mild symptoms, such as runny noses, congestion, coughs or fevers, said Dr. Wassam Rahman, the medical director of the pediatric emergency center at All Children’s. “Most of the kids are not very sick,” he said. “Most will go home and be treated with preventive care at home. But as you might imagine, families are scared.”
A small share of children do develop severe disease, showing up at the hospital with pneumonia or in respiratory distress.

Of the 15 children with Covid-19 who were inpatients at Children’s Hospital New Orleans late last week, four — including a 3-month-old baby — were in intensive care, said Dr. Mark Kline, None of the children, including the eight who were old enough to be eligible, had been vaccinated.
“This Delta variant of Covid-19 is an infectious disease specialist’s worst nightmare,” Dr. Kline said. “And there’s just no sign that it has started to plateau.”
Some hospitalized children have other chronic conditions, like diabetes or asthma, that may make them more vulnerable to Covid, but doctors said that they also have seriously ill patients without any obvious risk factors.

Sophia, who was on her school’s track and cross country teams, was healthy and active before getting Covid, her mother said. Her parents were surprised by how quickly she deteriorated. “From one minute to another, she got super bad,” Ms. Villarraga said. “I said, ‘You know, I could lose my child.’”

After Sophia was admitted, doctors began treating her with the antiviral drug remdesivir, as well as antibiotics, steroids and a blood thinner. “From there,
it was a day-by-day thing,” Ms. Villaraga said. “Little by little, she got better.”
Sophia, like most children with Covid-19, is expected to make a full recovery, her mother said. (A small percentage of children may experience lingering, long-term symptoms often known as long Covid.) She was discharged on July 31 and celebrated her birthday several days later — at home, with an ice cream cake.

**Delta differences**
Ms. Villaraga was not told whether Sophia had the Delta variant, but
more than 80 percent of new cases in the United States are caused by Delta, the C.D.C. estimates, and doctors said that it is clear that Delta is behind the surge in childhood infections.
What remains unknown is whether children who are infected with Delta are actually getting sicker than they would have if they had caught a different variant — or if Delta, which is roughly twice as transmissible as the original virus, is just so infectious that many more children are getting sick.
There is some emerging evidence — mostly from data on adults — that Delta may cause more severe disease. Studies in Canada, Scotland and Singapore,
for instance, have suggested, variously, that Delta may be more likely to lead to hospitalization, I.C.U. admission or death.
But the research is preliminary, experts said, and there is not yet
enough good data on the severity of Delta cases in children.

“There’s no firm evidence that the disease is more severe,” said Dr. Jim Versalovic,the pathologist in chief and interim pediatrician in chief at Texas Children’s Hospital, in Houston, where about 10 percent of children now test positive for the virus, up from less than 3 percent in June. “We certainly are seeing severe cases, but we’ve seen severe cases throughout the pandemic.”
Although not all states report their pediatric hospitalization rates, the data
is available suggests that they have remained essentially steady for months. Nationally, roughly 1 percent of children who are infected with the virus end
up hospitalized, and 0.01 percent die, according to the A.A.P. data. Both hospitalization and death rates have declined since last summer.

It is still possible, of course, that Delta could turn out to cause more severe disease in children. Hospitalization rates, which are a lagging indicator, could rise in the weeks and months ahead. And the rare but serious inflammatory syndrome that develops in some children with Covid-19 can take weeks to appear.
“I think time will tell, really,” Dr. Rahman said. “We need at least a month, maybe two months before we get a sense of trends.”
But in the U.K., where Delta swept through the population before the variant became widespread in the United States, experts say they have not seen clear evidence that the variant is making children sicker.
“There was a wave, there were children who became unwell,” said Dr. Elizabeth Whittaker, a pediatric infectious disease and immunology specialist at Imperial College London. “But not in the kind of, ‘Oh, my gosh, this is very different, this is worrying.’”

**Dual surges**
Whether or not Delta turns out to be more severe, the variant is clearly driving a surge of new infections in both children and adults, especially in areas where vaccine coverage is low. “The rates among children are going up because the rates among unvaccinated family members in their homes are going up,”
Dr. Maldonado said.
And more infected children means more hospitalized children.
“It’s a numbers game at this point,” Dr. Versalovic said.
Making matters worse, many hospitals are also reporting a highly unusual spike in children with respiratory syncytial virus, a contagious flu-like illness that typically strikes in the fall and winter. R.S.V. cases were abnormally low last winter, likely because of lockdowns and pandemic precautions, but cases have been rising as officials lift restrictions and children begin to mingle.
Children’s Mercy Kansas City had nearly three times as many R.S.V. patients as Covid patients late last week, while Texas Children’s had nearly 1,500 positive R.S.V. tests in the last 90 days, hospital officials said.

“That has created a dual surge,” Dr. Versalovic said. “Because both
viruses are widely circulating, we’re seeing a much greater impact.”
The combination of R.S.V. and Covid has pushed Children’s Hospital New Orleans to capacity. “We haven’t had an empty bed in any of our intensive care units in six weeks,” Dr. Klein said.
It is not yet clear when children under 12 may be eligible for vaccination, but in the meantime, experts said, the best way to reduce the danger to children, and relieve the stress on hospitals, is for older children and adults to get vaccinated, which will help curb Delta’s spread.

“The safest way to never find out whether Delta is more aggressive to children than the original strain is to really enhance vaccination,” Dr. Malley said.

A June 28th report from the University of Almeria (in Spain)
supports the findings of the two researchers hosting the daily broadcast.
Surprising conclusions on the first results of the microscopy on one covid-19 mRNA Comirnaty (Pfizer) sample.
The main matter found was a substance more alike to nanoparticles of graphene or a very similar nanomaterial.
Extraction and quantification of mRNA in the sample, identified that 99%
of the whole substance inside the vial was highly probably graphene oxide or something very similar, just very little genetic material was found. Until now, no lipid nanocapsules were identified.

The study mentions that there is a reduced form of graphene oxide (GO.)
When graphene oxide is mixed with hydrogen it becomes MAGNETIC (MGO.) It is also known as reduced graphene oxide (this happens when blood is injected too.)

The Covid ridden illegal immigrants are over taking our border and states. They’re supposed to quarantine, but catholic charities can’t keep up, they just keep coming, with no end in sight. The Delta variant of COVID-19 can have symptoms that are more mild and typically not associated with the virus.
This is ludicrous!!

That some may mistake the illness as allergies or another common sickness.
You people need to make a decision. Do I need the ICU or CVS? And what’s
this about needing an N95 mask? I’ve yet to see a mask wearer with an N95.
They won’t admit there is no Medical Test that says, this person has the —
Flu – Covid – Delta.

**The recovery rate HAS BEEN, IS & REMAINS AT 99%.**
And that’s regardless of what “variant” they came up with. Any 0ne with
1/2 a brain knows case counts don’t mean sh*t, DEATH RATES do. .99% RECOVERY RATE. (WITH 7.9 Billion people on this planet that’s a lot of deaths.)

Every single one of us should have at the very least been hospitalized once this year. This is the biggest farce played on humans in the entire history of the planet….and we are doing nothing

Statistically speaking you have a better shot of getting hit by a car! If under
50 you have a better chance of getting struck by lighting! You should just stay inside for the rest of your life. It’s wayyyyy too dangerous for you out there!
Get vaccinated or wear a mask if you want, but for the love of all that is holy move on. Same is true with influenza but we don’t go around destroying the economy, being irrationally hysterical and viewing others with derision like
we do with this.

Something some of you can’t comprehend. You can also be walking around and drop dead from a heart attack or a car running a red light. Yeah, and you could get hit by a bus as you walk across the street with your head buried in your cell phone, or up your ass.

Just as always, people who have signs of an illness should stay home, people who are healthy should continue to live their lives unconstrained. Covid 19
still has a survival rate of 99.8% for most people. You need to get a grip or lockdown in your basement, put on 6 masks, and cuddle a Teddy Bear until there are 0 cases of Covid (which will never be).

Are they just trying to get people to get tested if they sneeze? No thanks, I’ll just take a Zyrtec and forget about it. They’re only utilizing those symptoms because right now it is allergy time and sinus time it’s bullshit.

I sneeze often and dramatically. The Covid Delta has symptoms which are not typically associated with the Covid virus? What the? So it’s not Covid? … oh it is? …. no!… what? It’s a chest cold. Take mucinex and don’t push it so you don’t get pneumonia and it’s over in a few days. This means: They want to test you. And that means you will test positive.

**Delta has already changed public-health advice about masking.**

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday recommended that vaccinated people resume masking indoors in certain parts of the country. And local officials have begun to reinstate mask mandates, including in Los Angeles County and St. Louis County.

If you are close to someone and in their respiratory plume—the air released in a breath—it may be possible to become infected, she says. **Rochelle Paula Walensky** (née **Bersoff**; born April 5, 1969)

Is an American physician-scientist who is the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.^[1]

Prior to her appointment at the CDC, she was the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital and a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Early life and education

Walensky was born Rochelle Paula Bersoff in Peabody, Massachusetts^[3] to Edward Bersoff and Carol Bersoff-Bernstein.^[4]

She was raised in Potomac, Maryland.^[5][6]

In 1991, Walensky received a B.A. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Washington University in St. Louis.^[6] In 1995, she received an M.D. degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. From 1995 to 1998, she trained in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Walensky then became a fellow in the Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program. In 2001, she earned an MPH in clinical effectiveness from the Harvard School of Public Health.^[7]

Academic career

Walensky had been on the faculty of Harvard Medical School since 2001, first as an instructor, then as a professor.^[8]

Walensky was a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School from 2012-2020, and served as chief of the division of infectious diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2017-2020. She served on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic and conducted research on vaccine delivery and strategies to reach underserved communities. Walensky has worked to improve HIV screening and care in South Africa, led health policy initiatives, and researched clinical trial design and evaluation in a variety of settings.^[9]

Walensky was Chair of the Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council at the National Institutes of Health from 2014 to 2015 and has served as a member of the US Department of Health and Human Services Panel on Antiretroviral Guidelines for Adults and Adolescents since 2011.^[10]

She serves on the board of directors of Mass General Brigham.^[11]

She has been co-director of the Medical Practice Evaluation Center at Massachusetts General Hospital since 2011.^[10]

COVID-19

In a paper published in Health Affairs in November 2020, Walensky and her co-authors showed that the effectiveness of a COVID-19 vaccine will be strongly affected by:

The speed with which the vaccine is produced and administered. Some of the potential vaccines have logistical challenges including the need for ultra-cold storage or requiring two doses.
The willingness of people to be vaccinated.
The pandemic’s severity when the vaccine is introduced.^[12]

CDC Director

The Biden transition announced Walensky’s presumptive appointment as CDC director on December 7, 2020.^[13] Doctors and public health experts widely praised the choice.^[14] As the position of director of the CDC does not require Senate confirmation to take office,^[15] Walensky’s tenure at the CDC began on January 20, 2021.

On August 3, 2021, Walensky instituted a 60-day extension of a federal COVID-related ban, which had just expired, on landlords evicting their tenants. The extended ban applies only to “counties experiencing substantial and high levels of community transmission levels”, but under the criteria of the ban this covers an area holding 90% of the U.S. population.^[16] A previous ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court, Alabama Association of Realtors v. Department of Health and Human Services, is generally believed by legal scholars to hold that any such extension, if not enacted by the U.S. Congress, would be considered unconstitutional.^[17]

Personal life

Walensky is married to Loren D. Walensky, also a physician-scientist. They have three sons.^[18] They are Jewish and members of Temple Emanuel in Newton, Massachusetts.^[19]
Remember in March when Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, decided to share her private hunch at a White House press briefing? Dr. Walensky intoned, “I’m going to reflect on the recurring feeling I have of impending doom.”

Many Americans have learned not to trust her feelings about Covid. But what really should concern the citizenry is that the fearful government disease doctor might have been referring to constitutional liberty.

How else can one explain her decision to sign her name to what appears to be an unlawful Tuesday eviction moratorium order? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

But Dr. Walensky’s own data show that the times are much less desperate than they used to be. Her CDC website reports that the seven-day average of daily Covid deaths in the U.S. has fallen in half since her March declaration about her fearful feeling, and has tumbled roughly 90% from the peak levels of early January.

The Journal’s Andrew Ackerman and Siobhan Hughes report:The Biden administration Tuesday announced a new federal moratorium on evictions, bowing to pressure from progressive Democrats to revive lapsed tenant protections despite White House officials saying they lacked the legal authority to do so.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s ban targets areas that have experienced “substantial or high” levels of Covid-19 transmission and is expected to cover more than 80% of U.S. counties…

The White House had said for days that lawmakers would need to pass legislation to extend the moratorium after a recent Supreme Court decision signaled the CDC couldn’t lawfully extend its moratorium again absent congressional authorization. Tuesday’s decision marks a sharp turnabout for the White House. Administration officials said Monday that Mr. Biden on Sunday had asked the CDC to come up with a new, 30-day eviction moratorium focused on areas with high Covid-19 rates, rather than the monthslong options previously proposed.

But the White House said the CDC said it hadn’t found the legal authority for that action, and signaled it was loath to take an action that could lead to the Supreme Court striking down its public-health powers. Until the Supreme Court slaps down this latest assault on the property rights of landlords, Dr. Walensky’s order asserts that Americans who violate her directive may be subject to criminal penalties including up to a year in jail. Imprisoning people on such dubious grounds is bound to give Americans a sense of impending doom about due process. And for the record, the alleged emergency is a sham, and not just because daily Covid deaths are fortunately far below their levels of early January.

The husband of CDC director Rochelle Walensky has reportedly received millions in HHS grants.

Walensky, who took over as director with Biden’s inauguration, is married to Loren D. Walensky, a renowned pediatric oncology researcher at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard.

In October 2019 Loren Walensky became the scientific co-founder and a member of the Board of Directors of Lytica Therapeutics, “an early-stage biotechnology company working on an innovative platform for developing next-generation antimicrobials.” (LabCentral)

Just four months later, Walensky’s Lytica received a $16.9 million dollar HHS grant to “develop antibacterial peptides with broad activity against multidrug-resistant bacteria.” Only $5.3 million of that money was initially dispersed to Lytica, and the remaining $11.6 million is scheduled to be disbursed upon the achievement of “certain development milestones.”…

In this particular case Crunchbase, which monitors funding for corporations and nonprofits, shows that the only funding that Lytica has received to date is the $5.3 million allocated from the grant received.

Again, the only funding this new company has received to date – nearly two years after its founding – is the $5.3 million allocated from the HHS grant.

The liberal media doesn’t seem very interested in this story. That’s odd, isn’t it?
