In the total history of the human race – no true Socialistic Democracy ever lasted more than 200 years. They all self-destructed. History shows they don’t last long. However, under a Constitutional Republic which The United States was and should ever be, we are 6 years shy of our 250th Birthday Bash in 2026. My belief and what got us to this point are The 5 Freedoms outlined in the First Amendment identified together as our core principles and values: are freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to assembly and right to petition the government. The Fifth Freedom is to Peacefully protest and does not include rioting and looting. You might want to take a few history classes and learn from past mistakes to verify that from Howard Zinn. A nation is CRUSHED every time the mob takes control and is too easily redirected, however, we did survive a similar period throughout the 1960’s into the 1970’s. With The Civil Right Issues, The Vietnam War, The Peaceful Hippie Movement, Water-Gate, The Cold War and Ronald Reagan saving our ass in the 1980’s.
Conspiracy theorists are going wild because things that were “theories” in the past….really did happen apparently and “we’re we’re a democratic representative republic” is their cozy little corner for those with their heads in the sands of time… when mob mentality takes over with more racism, division, subjugation of minorities & no protections for those minorities. Does anybody realize The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by the socialist minister Francis Bellamy (1855-1931). It was originally published in The Youth’s Companion on September 8, 1892. Bellamy had hoped that the pledge would be used by citizens in any country. And Under God wasn’t included in it and included later to express the belief in GOD.

How the United States Government Works. The Constitution establishes the United States government and lists the powers of each of three co-equal branches. Each branch has powers that check or balance the powers of the others, ensuring no single branch can overwhelm and subsume the others. The states and the people retain any powers not specified in the Constitution.
1. Voting for Representatives. U.S. citizens 18 and over have the right to vote, although laws governing how you register to vote vary by state. Federal elections happen every two years on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Every federal election decides every seat in the House of Representatives and about one-third of the seats in the Senate. The president and vice president are elected every four years.
2. Making Laws. Article I of the Constitution establishes the legislative branch of the U.S. government, which consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate. Only Congress has the power to make new laws or change existing laws. The 435 House members represent the states in proportion to their population, while the Senate is made up of 100 representatives — two from each state. Bills concerning revenue must originate in the House. “When in the course of human events… Mayor De blasio allowed thousands to march, protest, even loot & riot without police getting involved. I’m confused Why Should police get involved only when it’s peaceful & not when it’s violent? I’d LOVE to hear the rules. Most Christians are familiar with the phrase “the spiritual battle,” a term used to describe the war raging between the forces of good and evil. It is the ageless war between light and darkness, between God and His archenemy, the Devil. Unfortunately, all humankind—every man, woman, and child who has ever lived—is in the middle of the war, caught between the two great opposing armies. The war that started in the heavens above has spilled over the borders of the spirit realm into the Earth.
Wars between nations are generally fought for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it’s about acquiring new lands, seizing goods and riches, or simply increasing political power. In the case of the spiritual battle, the objective sought by both sides is the fertile soil of the minds and hearts of humankind. God’s ultimate plan has always been to have a kingdom filled with those who love Him and want a real relationship with Him, which He aims to accomplish through love and giving people the freedom to make their own choices. The Devil, on the other hand, is doing all he can to thwart God through coercion, manipulation, lies, and deceit. Although Satan desires to have followers who will openly and brazenly follow him, he will settle for much less. In his twisted thinking, he will accept the crumbs of people simply rejecting God as a victory for him. As time marches on, Satan’s forces continue to promote immorality, rebellion, greed, and all manner of sinfulness, while the forces of Righteousness promote order, respect, love, and holiness. This makes the boundary line between the two opposing sides very clear. In this war, there is no safety afforded to those who prefer to sit on the proverbial fence—because as someone once said, “The Devil owns the fence.” Jesus made this crystal clear when he told his followers that whoever is not with him is against him, and whoever does not gather with him scatters (Matt. 12:30). In order for us, the children of God, to navigate the minefields of this war surrounding us, we need to be clear on the battlefields on which this war is being fought.
God’s Strategy for Winning in Spiritual Warfare Strategies change but the battlefields remain the same Over time, the various moves and strategies of the Evil One have changed, but the war continues to be fought on the same battlefields. When we step back from the frontlines of war, we can see the battles being waged on seven major battlefields.
1. Media & Communication 2. Arts & Entertainment 3. Education 4. Business & Economy 5. Government 6. Religion 7. Family
Many Christians have given little thought to these seven battlefields and the amount of influence they exert over them, despite the fact that Loren Cunningham, of Youth with a Mission, and Bill Bright, of Campus Crusade for Christ, first spoke of them in 1974—over forty years ago. As followers of Christ, we must become better at discerning the moves of the Enemy on these battlefields in order to aid the forces of God in this conflict. Doing so will help us all to improve in employing the proper countermeasures, which aids the forces of light in mounting effective offensive actions.
The Seven Battlefields In the Book of Proverbs, God informs us that the two major ways that people’s hearts are influenced are by the things we see with our eyes and hear with our ears. This may be why God provides the reader of Proverbs with so many warnings to protect his or her heart by being very careful about what we look at and listen to. Like any great war that involves many different battlefields, the one being fought for the hearts of humankind is happening in seven different arenas of life:
1. Media & Communication The ability to exchange ideas and disseminate information, whether true or false, is one of the most important ways to influence and control people. This is why the battlefield of Media and Communication is a critical arena for the armies of light and the forces of darkness. Since the beginning of time, the Adversary has attempted to control mankind by shaping thought, which he does by controlling information. The story of Nimrod and the Tower of Babel is a perfect example of how the Devil was able to use mankind’s singular language as a means to promote his evil agenda of rebellion against God (Gen. 10-11). The fact that God stepped in and shook things up by limiting man’s ability to communicate demonstrates exactly how key this field of combat is in the spiritual war. Since humankind’s dispersion following the confusion of languages at the Tower of Babel, our ability to freely communicate has been very limited. Even when translations into multiple languages could be made, in the past it still took time for hand-written or spoken royal edicts to filter through the empires, and for vital information from remoter regions to make its way back to the rulers. This greatly changed in 1440 when Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press. Suddenly our ability to communicate exploded. It was estimated that in the mid 1500’s the Reformation of Christianity was greatly fueled by Martin Luther’s 95 theses being printed over 250,000 times in a very short span. Bibles were the first thing to ever roll off the press, which allowed the masses to question the ruling powers by undermining their ability to control social thought. In the past 100 years, the field of communication has exploded with the telegraph followed by the telephone, radio, and television. Just as the battlefield of Media and Communication can be used for good, it can also be a source of much evil. Today we are again being a great clashing of spiritual swords with the exponential explosion of communication through the Internet and social media. Ideas can now traverse the globe in mere seconds. It is no coincidence that false information dominates this stage.
2. Arts & Entertainment The field of Arts and Entertainment, which includes the music industry, television shows, movies, and books, is very similar to Media and Communication in that it is about the transfer of information—although it is a much subtler way of influencing the minds and thoughts of humankind. God tells us that “bad company corrupts good character (1 Cor. 15:33), which is why the kind of company we keep with our thoughts is heavily influenced by the things we see and hear. Nowadays television, movies, and the Internet bring all kinds of ungodly content into our homes and workplaces as they promote sensuality, spread lies, or instill fear and a desire for vengeance. When used for evil, the Arts & Entertainment can desensitize the populace to all kinds of godless behaviors and ideas. It has been said that by age 18, children spend more time subjecting their minds to the influence of the arts and entertainment than they do in the classroom. On the other hand, these things can also be used to praise and worship the Creator and to spread the gospel. How it is being used depends on which army is winning the conflict.
3. Education Most people readily understand the tremendous influence that the Arts & Entertainment and the Media & Communication have on people, but the battlefield of Education is equally impacting on minds and hearts. In the western world, a child begins formal schooling as early as four or five years old (children now attend formalized “pre-school” at age 4). Even just between the first and twelfth grade, the average child spends close to 11,000 hours1 in the classroom. Consider too the additional time spent doing homework assignments, extracurricular activities, and additional years of schooling at the university level, and you can see how people can literally be programmed to think and act a certain way by such a constant environment. It should be no wonder, then, why we are seeing an explosion in anti-Christian worldviews as children are bombarded by thousands of hours of secularism, scientism, materialism, pluralism and gender issues. Clearly the battlefield of Education is especially harmful when you have academia geared toward an anti-God environment. In his book Invading Babylon, author Bill Johnson stated, “While it could be argued that the entertainers today have the greater role in shaping the minds of the young, it is the educators who generally shape the minds of the entertainers in their way of thinking.” It is no wonder that we are now seeing more youth that are confused, lacking a moral anchor, and are becoming a generation of “none’s”— no god, no morals, no genuine right or no wrong. Unfortunately, much of the intrusion of the various worldviews that promote anti-Christ type attitudes is the result of Christians not being more engaged in, or even abandoning altogether, the battlefield of Education. Turning the primary responsibility of the education of our children over to “professional” educators plays right into the Enemy’s hand. No parent would ever think of sending their child to a restaurant where 1 in 10 people die of food poisoning, but yet many never even think twice about sending their children into an educational system where they are routinely exposed to poisonous thinking and belief systems. I am not against public schools, but parents cannot be absent when it comes to what our children are being taught. We must remain engaged in this battlefield if we are to counteract the forces of evil.
4. Business & Economy Godly people conduct themselves ethically in business and the handling of money. For them, unlike the ungodly, the ends do not justify the means and acting with integrity is highly treasured, even if it means losing money in a business deal or an investment. Contrast that with the ungodly who will steal, cheat, and lie as they seek unjust enrichment, even when it comes at great loss and pain to others. The battlefield of Business and Economy is vitally important to both the armies of God and the Devil because it’s often through the medium of money that good and bad is greatly promoted and sustained. how the other battlefronts are supported through business and the economy. The bottom line is that Hollywood and the music industry are essentially just businesses; they cease work when the money stops flowing into them. Even television networks such as NBC, CBS, FOX, and others must be supported through advertising revenue. Cut off the revenue, and their ability to promote their agendas shifts into neutral—it goes nowhere. Money is power, and it buys influence, which is why there are so many verses in the Bible that speak of money and goods, and the godly way of handling them. The importance of this battlefield can be inferred simply from the fact that there are about 500 verses in the Bible on prayer, but there are over 2,350 on the handling of money and possessions. There is a reciprocal, albeit almost a parasitic, relationship between the battlefield of business and the others. The kind of person who wins on the battlefield of Media, Arts, Communication, and Education determines the kind of person who will lead in Business, and the kind of person leading in Business in turn supports them. God has given us clear instructions concerning business and the economy; Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” ~Hebrews 13:5 NIV
5. Government Government is the ultimate form of control over other people, and those who govern are determined and swayed by all the other battlefields (Media, Entertainment, Education, Business, Religion, and Family). I do not believe there is one particular form of government that is good or evil in itself. While it is true that there are some that are more inclined toward evil, or are more easily manipulated by it, a righteous government exists whenever the leadership governs righteously. A dictatorship can be kind and benevolent, if you have a kind and benevolent dictator. Even a representative form of government, like the one we have in the United States today, can become corrupt when you have elected elites who are more devoted to self-interest and personal enrichment than they are to governing in accordance with God’s desires and ways. The actual type of government is irrelevant, because a government simply reflects the nature of those who are in position to govern. God even tells us that there is a day coming when a sole King will rule, and it will be a great and wonderful time because that King will righteously administer justice and promote peace (Rev. 20:6). Speaking of the 2016 Presidential election in the United States, Dr. Lance Wallnau correctly stated in his book, God’s Chaos Candidate: “This is not a conflict, as some would like to make it, between opposing political parties or economic views. It is a conflict of a much more fundamental and cosmic nature.” Clearly, as followers of Jesus, we need to pray for an increase in godly leadership in government. I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good & pleases God our Savior. 1 Timothy 2:1-3 NIV
6. Religion Of all the various fields of spiritual engagement, Christians tend to be the most familiar with the battlefield of Religion. Here the enemy lines stand out distinctly with their erroneous beliefs and idolatrous falsehoods. Although Christianity continues to spread, so too does paganism. It is reported that out of a world population now approaching 7 billion people, there are about 2.2 billion Christians, 1.6 billion Muslims, 1 billion Hindus, and 360 million Buddhists. Add to this mix the other minor world religions, plus the New age movement, Spiritism, Mysticism, and Witchcraft, and you can see there is a formidable foe out there. All of these movements are violations of God’s first command: to worship the only true God. One thing we can be sure of as we draw closer to the return of Christ is that false belief systems will increase. People will slurp up lies like cold milk to wash down yummy chocolate chip cookies. Despite the rising opposition, we must not grow weary in our attempts to reach others with the Good News of Jesus. Far too many Christians have gotten soft, becoming spiritual couch potatoes, as they fail to confront wickedness— tolerating, and even participating in it. Additionally, Christian leadership is often unclear on the teaching of biblical mandates, and in their fear of a loss of attendance—loss of money—they fail to be the collective conscience of society that they could and should be. Like it or not, Christians are being pushed right into the middle of many social controversies. Losing the battle of religion will result in the collapse of all freedoms. In many ways, the Christian church has become “salt that has lost its savor.” (Matt. 5:13) We must fight fearlessly on this battleground or soon we will be seeing the signs saying, “Welcome to the Coliseum, Folks!”
7. Family The family unit has been under attack since the dawn of man. Just a cursory look at families today shows a picture of fractured households, single-parent situations, abuse, hatred, and many other kinds of division. God intended for the family to be a unit with a father-mother team leading the children. We have biblical evidence since Genesis 4 of a spiritual attack on the family, starting with the very first family of Adam and Eve, whose first son murdered his brother. The Bible is full of stories depicting the assault on the family. Why so much focus on the family? Because it is the most fundamental unit of society. Break the family down, and soon you will have a breakdown in society. This is why all the previously listed battlefields are aimed as attacks on the family—financially, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, physically, and even educationally. Fathers and mothers must step up and lead their families righteously, actively teaching and training their children in the true ways of God and His Son, Jesus. This is the most important battlefield of all, and it is the one place where we can exert the greatest influence over our children and the future generations.
Called to the battle front After looking at the seven battlefields it can seem as if we are completely surrounded by the spiritual war— and the reality is that we are. Although this can be depressing, we must be careful not to over-spiritualize things and begin to see ghosts behind every post. We take comfort in knowing that the battle is between God and His Enemy, and victory has already been secured through Christ. The point of understanding the seven spiritual battlefields is so that we properly discern what is happening. My life has continuously transformed after I began to devote my life to love and the service of others and the Earth. I strongly believe in the transformational power of love and devotion, and it has become a staple of my teaching style.
I am an advocate for mental/chronic illnesses and I promote Yoga and meditation as a guide for stabilizing health and wellness, physically, mentally and spiritually. With an innate ability to read energy, I utilize my knowledge and skills to address each student’s individual needs in my classes. My unique lineage influences a lifestyle of Seva (service), Bhakti (Devotional Love), Jnana (Spiritual Knowledge), Radical Self Expression, Health and Wellness, Sustainability and Spiritual Healing. I am on a mission to make a huge dent in this world. I am strongly driven to support others in his or her journey to mental clarity and share all of the knowledge that has been transmitted to me. The Yogic path has benefited the entirety of my being; mind, body & soul. While blooming from a space of severe mental illness, I strive to influence others to utilize the benefits of the yogic path to maintain a balanced, healthy & happy life.
We all have a divine infinite power within us and it is my life goal to help others surface that power. Each and every one of us has a purpose and many passions. It is through our passions that we can fulfill our purpose and tap into our divine infinite power, which is our Karmic duty. The Yogic path is a path of self discovery that teaches us how to surface our own defined and infinite power to free ourselves of the binds of Karma. When we allow our life to be driven by passion, we are allowing our life to be driven by love and love is the greatest power there is. You are your greatest teacher, just listen to the wisdom that already lives within. I was diagnosed with bipolar/manic depression and severe anxiety, but none of that stopped me from pursuing my dreams. I believe that all mental illnesses are in fact treatable. A mental illness is an imbalance in our neurochemistry. Medication is used to produce the chemicals we are lacking to create balance. I believe that if we can find other ways to increase the chemicals that we need, we can balance our neurochemistry ourselves. Yoga and meditation is how I balance my neurochemistry. I believe that we all have the power to take control of our lives and our mind and through my teachings, it is my goal to show people how to do just that. Holding space is about being in space. It’s about being fully present with the experience. Holding space is viewing someone without judgment and seeing him or her through loving kindness. Holding space is recognizing that although we all may stumble, we are all also so powerful. Holding space is like holding the door open for someone to walk through to experience a new model of the world. Instead of feeling like the walls are caving in, holding space literally gives breathing room to express, open up, and simply be where we are. What we are really doing when we hold space is nothing but pure acceptance— of ourselves, of others, and of the moment. As Brene Brown says, “When we are looking for compassion, we need someone who is deeply rooted, is able to bend, and most of all, embraces us for our strengths and struggles.” Those compassionate, rooted people in our life are invaluable to help us weather the storm and stand in the light again. But what happens when that other person just is not available to you at that moment?
Holding space doesn’t have to involve anyone else physically being there with us or listening to us directly. You can each hold space for yourself. When you are going through something big (or seemingly small), you can hold space for yourself by tapping into self-compassion. Dr. Kristin Neff defines three components of self-compassion as self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness. Self-kindness entails being warm and understanding towards ourselves when we suffer, fail, or feel inadequate. Instead of ignoring our pain or hurting ourselves with self-criticism, self-kindness involves being gentle with yourself when you encounter a painful experience. Common humanity is that reminder that we all suffer.
We are all mortal, vulnerable, and imperfect. This suffering is part of the shared human experience. Realizing that can help us feel less isolated and more connected within that space. Mindfulness is taking a balanced approach to our challenging emotions so that feelings are neither suppressed nor exaggerated. Instead of “over-identifying” with our thoughts and feelings. Mindfulness is a willingness to observe our negative thoughts and emotions with openness, clarity, and equanimity. It’s a non-judgmental way of becoming aware of our inner experience as it is, without trying to suppress or deny. We cannot ignore our pain and feel compassion at the same time. This means, the more you can hold space for yourself, the more you can hold space for others. In that space, we all experience what it means to feel unconditional love. When you feel unconditionally loved, you are able to fully own your own experience and truly be who you are. There is a calmness and clarity and an ability to love the world as it is. This is where true power comes from. When we are able to be in unconditional love, all of our thoughts, words, and actions flow from it. We are bringing more of that love into the world. Which means holding space isn’t just beneficial for one. It benefits all. By loving ourselves, we also hold space for the world.
How long have you been practicing Yoga? How long have you been teaching? I have maintained a consistent asana practice since 2010. I was first certified in 2014 in Urban Bhakti Flow at Studio Tahoe in Truckee, California. Bhakti Flow was created by Rusty Wells of San Francisco. One year later, I was certified in Hatha Yoga and Vedanta at the Sivananda Ashram in Paradise Island, Bahamas. Sivananda Hatha was created by Swami Vishnudevananda of India.
How did you begin? I was first introduced to Yoga in 2010 when a family friend brought me to her husband’s class. I had just moved out of my parents house, across the country and I was fifteen years old. I was struggling with bi-polar, depression and anxiety severely. She thought Yoga might be a healthy outlet and a good way to adjust to my new surroundings. I fell in love almost instantly, even though I thought it was really hard, but I have always loved challenging myself and I have always been very physically active. I was never naturally as flexible as I was strong, but I grew up taking gymnastics classes, and competed on private cheerleading teams, which created a foundation of understanding my body awareness. This body awareness transferred easily to my Yoga practice and eventually my teaching style.
What kind of Yoga Asana do you teach? I teach Vinyasa based practices such as Power, Vinyasa and Bhakti Flow, a style of asana that is typically fairly quick moving as the practitioner flows from posture to posture connecting breath and movement, approximately one to five breaths at a time. Creative sequences are created based around the sun salutations and the quick movements increase your heart rate and get you sweating!
I also teach Hatha based practices such as Restorative, Yin, and Prenatal, a style of practice that is less cardio based and focused more on the release of the fascia connective tissue and diving deep into postures, which are held for longer amounts of time, typically 1-10 minutes per posture. I apply the path of Bhakti Yoga (one of the four paths) to any style I practice and teach. Bhakti Yoga is the path of love and devotion, often expressed through the art of Kirtan, or chanting mantras. I’m not advanced, can I still come to your classes or workshops? Absolutely! Unless stated otherwise, all of my classes and workshops are all-levels, this means I create a safe space for practitioners that have never stepped foot on a mat, to those who have been practicing for years.
How can I start Yoga? Just do it! Yoga is a lifestyle, a meditational and physical practice, as well as a personal journey. There are so many different styles and teachers and it can take awhile to find what really resonates with you. I always suggest taking a class in person because the teacher can adjust you and correct your alignment in order to prevent any injuries. If taking a class in person is not available, there are a lot of online options! I offer personalized yoga videos and can create a class curated just for you! Please inquire via contact page!

What reason would keep you from moving to California? The real question is, what reason would you willingly move to or visit California today? Answer: Ummm…logic. No one boards an obvious train car that’s headed to a wreck… I moved away from there two years ago and there are too many reasons to list why I left. Let’s put it this way, the weather is the only thing I miss. Everything except the weather. Literally, and every single other thing!!! Sky high housing costs, high taxes, the state catches on fire on a regular basis, treasonous politicians and Hollywood. My husband says Cali was the most beautiful state he has even visited. I’m sure there are many lovely people living there, and I wish them the best. But I don’t actually feel that comfortable in the presence of pedophiles. Plus, with the increased cost of living, reduced standard of living and expectations to follow a bunch of airheads, I’d pretty much be sunk right from the get-go. I could probably live in the sensible parts. I must have good instincts, I’ve never even visited Southern California when I was there in 1988. They can’t keep their power on and are making them get electric cars! Enough Said. Therefore, my automobile will not cross into California. Blame it on the map, price of gas, or my commitment to not intentionally spending 1 dime in the land of fruits and nuts. Been there, done that, left nothing there, if I did leave something, not going back for it. The sky is blue where I live. California is a beautiful state and I did talk to wonderful people there. But on the whole democrats have ruined it. Democrats have to go… before I would ever consider visiting there again. Cost of living would have to go down as well before I would consider living there.

I Moved out of California 30 years ago and don’t miss it one bit. Glad I don’t live there anymore, especially now the way it’s being governed by Newsome. In a culture saturated with sex and food, you can see how some people would say: “Since there is so much sin bound up with sex and food, we must be against that. Have nothing to do with marriage or with fine foods. Pursue the simplest lifestyle possible. In denying pleasure you will become more godly.”
That kind of teaching doesn’t come from heaven. You can’t love God more by enjoying life less. The Apostle Paul says, “That is completely wrong!” It is a false path to a godly life. Paul reminds us—God is the Creator: “Everything God created is good. Nothing is to be rejected— if it is received with thanksgiving!” (v4). Remember, marriage was given by God even before the Fall, with all of the beauties and joys of sexual union. God gave the abundance of food in the earth for our enjoyment. These are the gifts of God. On this topic, John Stott helpfully quotes G. K. Chesterton: “You say grace before meals, all right. But I say grace before the play and the opera, and grace before the concert and the pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching and painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing; and grace before I dip the pen in the ink.” You can’t love God more by loving life less. So how can you love God more? How can you grow in godliness? This is surely the significance of 1 Timothy 3:16, where Paul lifts up Jesus Christ and says “Great is the mystery of godliness.”
Jesus Christ is the mystery of godliness. What is the mystery or secret of godliness? Answer: Jesus Christ! Beyond all questions, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, and was taken up in glory. (1 Timothy 3:16) Godliness, a God-centered life, is not a set of disciplines or a system. It is a person. The mystery of a godly life lies in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ who appeared in a body and was vindicated by the Spirit. Jesus Christ is godliness in the flesh. He has lived the God-centered life, and our hope of living a godly life is in him. Jesus Christ is the object of our faith and Jesus Christ is the source of our life. Many people would say “Oh yes, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, but he feels distant from my struggles.” Being a Christian is more than believing in Jesus. It is the life of Jesus Christ in you by the Holy Spirit. This is perhaps the most important thing for us to grasp in the whole of the Christian life. Faith is more than believing Christ. Faith unites us with Christ so that we are united with him in his death and in his resurrection. Remember that faith receives Christ (John 1:13). Faith feeds on Christ (John 6:54). Christ is your life (Colossians 3:4) and “Your life is hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3). Jesus gave us a wonderful illustration of this “I am the vine and you are the branches” (John 15:5). Godliness is in him and it flows from him. It grows in us as we grow in him.
That’s the hope of you living this life. Christ with you and Christ in you—the hope of glory. Your hope of godliness is in Jesus Christ.
This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. (1 Timothy 4:9-10) Paul begins like this when he wants to say something really important. What hope is there for me of a godly life? What hope is there for you of a godly life? How will Christian people become what God calls us to be? Everyone is looking for the answer to that question. “We have put our hope in the living God who is the Savior…” (v. 10). Paul is thinking about sanctification here. How do we know that? He says “for this we labor and strive…” (v. 9). Do we labor and strive for justification? No. We rest wholly in Christ. Do we labor and strive in sanctification? Yes. We put on the whole armor of God and fight the good fight.
We take our stand against the enemy and his schemes. The Spirit of God living in you, weds these two things together: 1. We labor and strive, and 2. We put our hope in the living God who is our Savior. Many people are confused about how to live the Christian life. There are two misunderstandings of the Christian life that have caused this confusion. a. The “hard labor” version – We labor and strive… (1 Timothy 4:9)
This version says that the Christian life is one great effort to try and live a godly life. Many people live here. But there is no power, no energy, and very little joy about them. These folks have the air of defeat about them. They feel that the Christian life is impossible and so they become discouraged. Consciousness seems mysterious. By this we mean that while life in general can be explained by physics, chemistry and biology, it seems that whenever one tries to explain the relationship between the brain and the subjective events that are experienced as feelings—what philosophers often refer to as “qualia”—something appears to be “left out” of the explanation. The Mystery of Death Indeed, death is a grand mystery. Throughout time, every major religion, philosophy, and spiritual train of thought has sought to explain this mystery. It is a subject that touches the life of every man and woman, uniting the entire human race under a cloud of inevitable mortality. The rich and the poor alike meet the same end; the black and the white both go to the grave; the powerful and the humble all leave this planet eventually. Interestingly, scientific research into single-celled organisms reveals that the nature of life, on a cellular level, does not automatically include a self-destruct mechanism for death. In other words, it appears that death is an unnatural part of life. Yet despite this, everything on earth eventually dies.

Most disease in the body starts with a change of life through a sense of loss of a job or the inadequate feeling of conflict or of a lost mate either through death or separation. There’s a good chance throughout your life, you’ve become jaded. Over time the things that once made us excited are the same things we now take for granted. Perhaps one of the biggest tests in our life is our ability to be faced with the same circumstances over and over again and find new ways to experience them. As negative as the term “jaded” sounds, hating everything more than anything. I believe it’s a natural human response. The more often you are disappointed in life, the louder your brain will be telling you that what you are looking for is rare and even harder to find than you thought, if at all possible. It’s completely normal for your mind to make this logical connection – I believe that the only way out of this jaded and inevitably less emotionally available state of mind is, is to try to learn something new about yourself. This might sound like the biggest cliche, but if you can embrace the idea of whatever happens, happens for the best – it will really serve you in pushing away the effects of repeated disappointments and provide you with a new outlook on life.
Almost everybody has a really hard time doing this. When you have a strong dislike for your present or view it as a waste of time. Ironically, this dislike is a self fulfilling prophecy as it creates the type of negative energy and skepticism that pushes any new prospects away. Often, being jaded is just a defense mechanism and this type of attitude is as pointless as it is unproductive, and you must snap out of it if you want to have a realistic chance of finding that special connection in life. We all have disappointments in life, and relationship disappointments are some of the most painful. Getting your heart broken isn’t for sissies. There’s nothing like lying on the floor sobbing with snot and mascara all over your face to humble you, not that I would know about such things. As soul-crushing as heartbreak is, we need to remember that it happens to us all. The next time you go to a public place, look at all the people around you and take in the fact that every single one of them has experienced heartbreak. That said, moving on is essential. If you allow your past disappointments to kill your dreams, you lose not once, but over and over again. We all experience crushing defeat in the world of love, but it’s so much better to pick yourself up and move on than it is to become jaded and bitter. Being jaded is unattractive. We all know brittle, world-weary, snarky people and we stay guarded around them. Being cynical about relationships can turn into a vicious circle. Jaded people attract other like-minded individuals and they keep each other at arm’s length in relationships. When you don’t let anyone get close to you – you can’t complain about your relationships being shallow and unsatisfying.
You get what you give. Being jaded is depressing and unhealthy. It just doesn’t feel good. There is a certain heaviness and resignation to people who are feeling discouraged and defeated. It ages them. Want to look and feel younger? Believe in love and in your dreams. If something in your life didn’t turn out the way you wish it had, learn everything you can from it and then move on. This is the only way that you can benefit from the experience. Being jaded does not serve you. It is merely holding on to old pain as a way of protecting yourself. This is nowhere near as awesome as moving on and having love in your life again. Being jaded will rob you of your dreams and your joy. Own your dreams. Find a way to believe in them again. Having a guarded, cynical attitude will not get you any closer to what you want. Everyone needs to have dreams. Pretending that you don’t need love, that you don’t care, that the only thing that matters is the avoidance of pain is playing small. Even worse than not reaching for your dreams is burying them alive and pretending that they don’t exist, forgetting that you ever had them because you were hurt once. Remember your dreams. Being jaded means that you’re feeling bitter and disillusioned about the world around you. Don’t give up in prayer. It’s so easy to get discouraged when we don’t see our prayers being answered. However, persevere in prayer. Although God may seem silent, remember that God is always working. Jacob wrestled with God and I encourage you to do the same. Jacob said, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” Wrestle with God until the battle is won. Also, be honest with God about how you feel. He is not going to be disappointed. Sometimes my prayers are, “Lord I feel discouraged, please help me to pray.” This is humbling myself before the Lord realizing that I need Him in order to persevere in prayer. Keep on fighting in prayer. Don’t give up before He answers. Don’t give up before you truly experience Him in prayer. Seek Him and be open with Him while on your prayer journey. In every season that we are in, especially in hard times, two of the most impactful words that you should always remember are “He knows.” Be honest with Him because He already knows. What also helps is to find another brother or sister in Christ to encourage you to get in prayer daily. GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE, BETTER THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO ARE PATIENT, AND THE BEST THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO DON’T GIVE UP. DREAM BIG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. YOU ARE TRULY AMAZING!!!
Never doubt the power of prayer. When I pray I see things happen. When I don ’t, then I don’t see things happen. It’s simple. If we don’t pray, then miracles won’t happen. Don’t allow what’s in front of you to cause you to doubt what God can do. We can only see what our eyes allow us to see, but God sees the bigger picture. Prayer can change your situation in a moment. It’s so comforting to know that our prayers cause God to intervene. Yes, ultimately it’s God’s will. However, it is His will that you will pray for something so that He can answer you. I believe we would see more success in our prayer lives if we would just pray for spiritual strength and a hungry heart and zeal for the Lord. Pray for spiritual and physical healing for sick family and friends. Pray for marriages and relationships to be restored. There are so many things to pray about. It’s up to us to pray for our loved ones. Don’t doubt what God can do through you. Don’t wait for New Year’s Day to start. I encourage you to start praying today. Analyzing Your Life 1. Consider your life. Think about why you became jaded in the first place — unhappiness with a job, lack of friends, no time for activities — and how you could change your situation. Even if you can’t change your situation much, sometimes it’s useful to figure out what are the elements in your life that are most responsible for making you jaded. Sometimes you can make small changes to the particularly egregious parts and it helps your outlook overall. 2. Be healthy. You can control how your body feels. Eating right (healthy fats, protein, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables) can make you feel better and more energetic. Getting a proper amount of exercise (even just a few hours a week spread out) will help you feel more energetic. Eating new foods and doing new exercises can also help prevent you from being depressed about everything in your life.[1] 3. Find support. For some people, family and friends are enough support to help deal with being jaded about particular aspects of our lives. Others might have deeper feelings of depression and need to seek professional counseling. Whatever your situation, find people that you can talk to about how you’re feeling and prevent yourself from getting caught up in feelings of being jaded about everything.[2] 4. Make some changes. If things are not going well in any aspect of your life and you’re jaded about anything working out, focus on one element that you might be able to change. Will it be love, work, home? Being jaded doesn’t have to take over your entire life. If you’re jaded about every finding love, give online dating a try. If you’ve done it before, try other sites or a speed dating event. If your job is the root of feeling jaded, start looking for other work. If that’s difficult to find, ask if your work will support you getting new training or certifications, allowing you to do different activities that will be counted as work. If your housing situation has you down, consider your possibilities. If you’re still living with your parents, for example, and renting an apartment by yourself is too expensive, think about splitting with roommates or renting a room in someone’s house.
Attitude changing video 1. Increase self-esteem. Part of letting go of your jaded thoughts is increasing your self-esteem. This might sound easier than it is, there are concrete steps you can take to noticeably increase your self-esteem. When you find yourself with a negative thought, first identify the situation (such as tension with a coworker) and note how you think about the situation. What do you tell yourself about the situation? Then, challenge this thinking: whether you are jumping to negative conclusions, focusing only on the negative aspects, or undervaluing your own worth, think about the other possibilities. What have you done well? What are your positive qualities? Forgive yourself for your mistakes. You are only human, and you deserve forgiveness. Remind yourself mistakes happen to everyone, and they do not make you a terrible person or define your life. Focus on positive things about yourself. Write down a list of all the things you like about yourself. Give yourself a compliment whenever you feel yourself getting discouraged. [3] 2. Make sure you have an internal locus of control. If you have an internal locus of control, it means that you believe that you have the power to change events through your own actions. [4] If you have an external locus of control, you believe that you have no power over your life, and everything that happens to you is the result of outside forces, not your own actions. Here are some tips for fostering an internal locus of control: Set goals for yourself. Divide larger goals (such as getting in shape) into smaller goals (such as running a mile without stopping, doing 20 consecutive squats, or taking a spin class) so that you can see how far you’ve come. Know that you always have choices in your life. Whether it’s what you eat for breakfast or whether or not you go to law school, know that your own personal choices always affect your life and the events in it. Whenever you find yourself feeling helpless, remind yourself that your choices are important for your life.[5] 3. Be assertive. Break the pattern of thinking that allows you to believe that you have no control over your life. Being more assertive in your actions will allow you to take more control of your life and make decisions that are best for you. Here are some tips on being assertive: Think about what you want to say before you say it. Whether you want your spouse to take on more household responsibilities or are trying to ask for a promotion from your boss, it’s best to think about and rehearse what you’re going to say before you say it. Say “no” more. It’s okay to say no when you’re too busy at work to take on a new task or don’t want to get coffee with an unpleasant coworker. Take more control of your life and your time by exercising your ability to decline invitations and responsibilities. However, make sure that you’re being polite. Say what you think, feel, or want. Use statements that begin with “I” to increase the effectiveness of your assertiveness. Instead of saying, “That’s not fair to me,” try saying something along the lines of, “I feel that this new policy is unfair because…”[6] 4. Take responsibility for your actions. Bitterness often occurs because you blame other people for your actions, rather than taking responsibility for yourself. Go back over the events in your life that have made you bitter and, instead of blaming someone else, think about your role in these events.[7] Now, what can you do about this? Think actively, not passively. Try not to dwell on the past but rather think about what you can do in the present and future. Are there people in your life you can forgive or apologize to? Is there a way that you can retroactively make amends or try the task again? Realize that taking responsibility involves learning about what you can learn from this situation. If you were in the same situation today, how would you act differently? What have you learned about communication and yourself? Think of accepting your responsibility as taking the first step towards improving yourself. Neither you nor the world is without mistakes and errors, so accepting this fact and learning from it is important to reducing your bitterness.[8] 5. Forgive others for their mistakes. Bitterness often stems from blaming other people (either wrongfully or correctly) for some element of your misfortune. Think about what has caused your bitterness and whom you believe is responsible for it. Bitterness is different than regret because it involves other people.[9] For example, if you are bitter because you feel like someone else got the praise you deserved at work, forgive your boss and your coworker. You do not have to explicitly say that you forgive them, but you could write in a journal about how and why you forgive them. If someone did wrong you, forgive that person explicitly. Also, if your spouse was unfaithful and you have been feeling bitter about it, try to release your bitterness and forgive your spouse. Tell them, no matter how long after the incident occurred, that you forgive them. 6. Stop thinking of yourself as a victim. Even if you were wronged by someone, in order to let go of your bitterness, you need to move away from thinking of yourself as someone who was wronged. Instead, you should start to think about the future and the more positive aspects of your life. Don’t allow that one particular situation to control your life, your thoughts, and your actions. What do you have to look forward to? What are you most excited about next? [10] Be grateful. Think about the positive qualities that you’ve gained by overcoming adversity, as well as what you have to look forward to in life. Make a list of the things for which you’re grateful in your life. Pay more attention to the positive things than the negative things. Change your narrative. If you’re really jaded, it might seem nothing is that important to you. But think back to the past — what has been important to you?
