Natural Ways To Stop Cancer Cells From Growing And Spreading The fatal nature of cancer lies not so much in the tumor that develops; it’s the spread of cancer throughout the body that’s most lethal. A new health breakthrough turned the tables a little bit and opted not to look at what natural substances can fight a tumor — but rather, which ones can slow the spread of cancer. And it’s led to some enlightening and positive news for treating cancer. Metastatic tumors are the cause of more than 90% of cancer related deaths. Metastasis formation can be considered as a culmination of the Darwinian evolutionary process within the tumor, when competition of multiple clones results in the development of cell inherent traits that favor tumor dissemination. Cancer stem cells (CSC) which possess self-renewal properties and genomic instability are considered to be an engine of tumor evolution. Cancer cells which have the capacity to colonize distant organs have the features of CSC and, in addition, exert their tumor-initiating capacity under adverse microenvironmental conditions. Recent studies support an idea that metastases can be driven by the evolved and selected subpopulations of CSC. In this review we discuss the common hallmarks of CSC and metastasis initiating cells (MIC) and prospects for the development of anti-metastatic therapy.
Five short stories about stem cells and cancer Elyn Jacob’s is a certified cancer coach and strategist and a two-time breast cancer survivor. She empowers men and women to successfully navigate the process of treatment and care. Elyn knows that cancer treatment requires an individualized plan, as every cancer is unique and there is not one plan for treatment that fits the needs of all–and she knows that healing often requires diverging from the medical standard of care. All too often people are pushed into a path for treatment that does not suit his or her core needs or desires. Many people find it a challenge to find a doctor who can hear and respond to their opinions and questions, and who dismiss holistic treatment options. Elyn’s own experiences with breast cancer enables her to deeply understand the questions and concerns faced by those affected by cancer. Her mission is to ensure that her client’s voice is heard and her goal is to help people find the right treatment, doctors, and post cancer care–and most importantly, to discover and correct the root cause of one’s cancer. Elyn has published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Cancer Biology and Treatment and Archives of General Internal Medicine. Learn how you can help prevent recurrence and minimize the treatment side effects and resulting effects that compromise your health and well-being. Empower yourself to go beyond the current standard of care to resolve the reason for your cancer and to heal yourself of cancer. While Elyn is grateful to have received the 2013 Best of Manhattan award and the Breast Cancer Wellness 2014 Ambassador of the Year award, the most important reward is helping others to improve not just quantity of life, but quality of life as well. Elyn knows that it is not enough to treat cancer; the goal is to beat cancer. Her goal is making the lives of cancer patients as long and high-quality as possible. Cancer Fighting Supplements According to Pubmed.gov (the government’s website for research articles in the medical fields) There are over 100,000 articles about Glutathione! This is a huge number, and highlights just how important of a molecule Glutathione is. Glutathione is the “Mother” of all antioxidants and one of the few that the human body makes endogenously (that’s a fancy way of saying it’s made inside the body). It is also vitally important for detoxification.
https://blog.dirobi.com/008-glutathione-supplement/ While you may typically think of a detox as something you do once or twice a year, glutathione is in it for the long haul, working around the clock, every day, to remove the toxins that can make us sick. Suffice to say, it’s one of the most important nutrients not just for optimal detoxification but also for optimal health. In fact, glutathione is such an important compound that researchers are starting to suggest that levels of this critical nutrient are predictive of longevity. Glutathione is the second-most abundant molecule in the body, just behind water (a clue of just how important it is to health). It is made up of three amino acids—glycine, cysteine, and glutamate. It is present in every cell but especially concentrated in the liver where it plays a major role in phase II detoxification, the stage in which glutathione binds to toxic molecules to prepare them to be removed from the body.
A family of enzymes called glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) is responsible for binding glutathione to these toxins—which can include excess hormones, man made chemicals, environmental pollutants, pharmaceuticals, and heavy metals—preparing them for excretion. Once it has attached to the toxic molecules, glutathione helps make them water soluble so they can easily be flushed from the body. If it weren’t for glutathione, toxins would back up in our bodies, leading to illness and disease; indeed, depletion of glutathione in humans is linked to diseases like cancer, neurodegenerative disease, and cardiovascular disease.
Give Your Glutathione Levels A Boost! Glutathione is naturally produced in the body, but aging, poor diet, alcohol, stress, intense exercise, This bombardment from so many angles can make it difficult to maintain healthy glutathione levels, but the good news is that there are plenty of effective ways to naturally boost production of this health promoting nutrient. Glutathione is found in some foods, but it is not very effective at increasing your levels because it is broken down during digestion, with only a small amount making it to your tissues. That said, there are foods that increase the activity of GST enzymes (those enzymes that help glutathione attach to toxins during detoxification). High-sulfur foods like garlic, onions, broccoli, kale, collards, cabbage, and cauliflower contain the compound sulforaphane which is the primary inducer of GST enzymes. Broccoli sprouts have also been shown to be an exceptional way of increasing GST enzymes. In addition to eating an abundance of these foods, there are specific nutrients you can take to build your glutathione levels. The unique study, which comes out of Washington State University, led to the conclusion that diet, nutrients and natural chemicals within plants (like flavonoids) could possess abilities to halt cancer in its tracks. It was published online in the journal
“Cancer and Metastasis Reviews.” Dr. DavidBrownstein notes cancer starts with iodine deficiencies— just as it does with low oxygenation of tissues with no one looking into the fact that low iodine and low oxygenation of tissues are directly related. Doctors are still scratching their heads wondering why cancer rates have been exploding but do not pay attention to doctors like Brownstein who has seen over 90 percent deficiency rates among his patients and reports other doctors seeing the same.
Copper and zinc are essential nutrients necessary to sustain the health and function of the human body. These two metal compounds naturally exist in the environment around us including our food and water but can pose major health complications if they are concentrated in our bodies inadequately. Up until 1963, clinicians did not even question the possibility that zinc deficiency may cause serious health symptoms nevertheless pose a fatal threat (5). Since then, an increasing rate of chronic illness and disease has caused researchers to further investigate how both metal toxicity and deficiency affect our health and wellbeing. Symptoms of a copper and zinc imbalance are plentiful and can lead to total body dysfunction if left untreated. Learn if your symptoms are signs that a low copper and high zinc nutrition plan can improve your quality of life. You can test your copper to zinc ratio through a simple hair mineral analysis.
Top 24 Most Well Researched Cancer Fighting Foods The researcher focused on genes that stop the process of “metastasis,” which is one of the scariest terms in all of health. That is clinical term for cancer spreading. Searching through the medical literature, the researcher found that the link between nutrients and metastasis is not a common topic in studies. People tended to study the genes that suppress metastasis, but not substances that could be playing a role in that suppression. So the researcher looked harder into the studies and documented a group of such substances that directly seemed to affect the genes of different cancer that control its spread. That list of substances included vitamin D (of course, as this is a huge disease-fighter), several amino acids, ginseng, lycopene (the cancer-fighter within tomatoes that turns them red), ethanol, pomegranate juice, curcumin, and Omega 3 fatty acids and it’s always important to remember that fish oil can turn rancid if it sits around to long and its derivative plant source is a better choice.
These, and others, affected cancer of the breast, colon, prostate, skin and lung. These substances, some of the most popular in alternative medicine, were able to turn metastasis suppressor genes on or off. Therefore, what you choose to eat, or perhaps buy in the supplement shop, could affect the spread of tumor cells. Unfortunately, this is an area that has not been well studied — but, of course, should be. Why don’t we spend more time studying the cancer-fighting nutrients within easy-to-find foods rather than constantly focusing attention on drugs?
Not surprisingly, the researcher calls for more investigation into how nutrients and metastasis are connected. Also, it is clear that there are many more natural compounds out there, more chemicals found within food cures, that haven’t even been looked into yet. The answers to fighting cancer will be found in nature — the hard part is the search.
https://www.faim.org/how-to-starve-cancer Dr. William Li presents a new way to think about treating cancer and other diseases: anti-angiogenesis, preventing the growth of blood vessels that feed a tumor. The crucial first (and best) step: Eating cancer-fighting foods that cut off the supply lines and beat cancer at its own game. And when it comes to fighting cancer, many believe that it is possible tostarve cancer with the foods we put into our bodies. One believer is Dr. Li , ( https://angio.org/ ), who claims that eating cancer-fighting foods cuts off the supply lines that feed cancer cells (or anti-angiogenesis). Since ancient times, people have been constantly exploring the possibility of ageless beauty – Agelessness , how to improve the nutrition of the cells to achieve the purpose of disease prevention and treatment, so as to achieve the human body’s natural life of 120 years? 9 Amazing Natural Foods to Stop Cancer (New Cancer Information) Cancer is one of the biggest killers in America and worldwide. It’s often diagnosed in it’s later stages and at that point it may be too late. Even when it’s diagnosed early on the medical system strongly pushes chemotherapy which leaves the patient struggling for life and vitality itself. The chemotherapy then weakens the body and can and often does kill the cancer patient faster than no treatment at all. A 25 year study done by the University of California Berkeley found this to be true, you can read about that study here. With that being said, catching cancer before it proliferates and grows out of control is a big advantage to you and your health and could literally save your life. Not only that but the two most powerful ways that you can prevent cancer also inhibit other health conditions and diseases and increase your quality of life the day you begin implementing them.
A new study suggests the spread of cancer is tied to dietary omega 6 fatty acids, Including palm oil, and that blocking a key receptor can prevent it. Metastasis, the spreading of cancer cells to other parts of the body, is the main cause of cancer-related death. New research has identified the cells responsible for this process in oral tumors, and also a promising way to stop it. The key lies in the cells’ ability to absorb dietary fatty acids—particularly palmitic acid, a major component in palm oil. Metastasis-initiating cells have high levels of the fatty acid receptor CD36 and seem to rely on certain fatty acids to thrive. Blocking the CD36 receptor prevented human oral cancer transplanted into mice from spreading, and a similar effect was found in melanoma and breast cancer cells. Senior author Salvador Aznar Benitah of IRB Barcelona tells us more about these promising findings.
The cells responsible for cancer’s spread — and for most deaths from cancer — may have a fatal weakness according to studies in mice: a reliance on certain fats to fuel their invasion. It is a difficult and hazardous undertaking for a cancer cell to uproot itself, travel through the bloodstream and take hold in an entirely different part of the body. (Non-cancerous cells are often programmed to self-destruct if they leave the tissue they live in.) Researchers have long struggled to understand which cancer cells can manage the feat, and how they do so. But a study published on 7 December in Nature1 has identified a population of oral tumor cells that are able to make the journey in mice, and has found that such cells may feast on fats to fuel the trip. Determining how certain cancer cells spread throughout the body — a process called metastasis — is a big step forward, says Xiang Zhang, a cancer researcher at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, who was not involved in the study. “Now people have a suspect they can follow.” To find that suspect, Salvador Aznar Benitah of the Institute for Research in Biomedicine at the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology in Spain and his colleagues looked among oral-cancer cells for those that could seed tumors. Within that population of cells, the team found some that expressed high levels of a molecule called CD36, which helps cells to take up lipids from their environment.
Such lipids could serve as an energy source for wandering tumor cells, they reasoned. “Metastasis takes a lot of energy,” says Ernst Lengyel, a gynaecological oncologist at the University of Chicago in Illinois, who was not involved in the project. “As a cell you must be able to adapt to changing environments, reprogram protein expression, establish a beachhead and start proliferating as soon as possible.”
STOPPING THE SPREAD Benitah and his team found that high CD36 expression was required for metastasis in mice. Antibodies that blocked CD36 — and eliminated its interaction with fatty acids — completely inhibited metastasis, although they did not affect the development of primary tumors. The researchers also mined public databases and found that high expression of CD36 correlated with poor medical outcomes in bladder, lung, breast and other cancers in people. Benitah’s team is now working to develop antibodies against CD36 that could be used in clinical trials, although he estimates it would take at least another four years to reach that milestone. Benitah notes that such a therapy may be effective even after cancer has started to spread: in mice, experimental antibodies eradicated metastatic tumors 15% of the time. The remaining metastatic tumors shrunk by at least 80%. The team is also looking at the implications of another finding: feeding the mice a high-fat diet led to more and larger tumors in the lymph nodes and lungs — a sign of metastasis — compared with mice on normal diets. Benitah’s team is now carrying out a study that aims to enrol 1,000 people with cancer, profiling lipids in their blood to look for any links to the spread of cancer cells. But at this stage, it is too early to tell people to avoid fatty foods, cautions Lengyel — especially people with cancer who may need a high-energy diet. “That’s a very dangerous message,” he says.

Tiffany is a force of nature, all passion and strength with a heart of gold.
She can be as stubborn as a bull, but that side only comes out when she is standing up for someone or something that she really believes in. Tiffany is an empath, feels everything deeply and is an incredible friend or partner to have, because once she has given someone her heart, she loves with every fiber of her being. Tiffany stated; Yesterday I had the chance to speak to my daughter regarding salvation and the dream I received in Sept. 2019. Ever since I saw Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne at our church, one thing stuck in my mind was what he said.
“The only thing we can take to Heaven is ourselves.” Wow! How true is that? Therefore, this captured my heart. In an instant, I thought of my daughter, my three grandkids and my son-in-law. But I never realized how much impact it gave me until the next day. I woke up thinking, “was this dream real?” And before I could do anything else, I started to journal my experience since it was fresh in my mind. I believe God was speaking to me in my dream. The thought of my kids being left behind saddens me. And with that kind of thinking, I cried, and cried more as I write. As a mother, I don’t want my kids left behind. In fact, I don’t want anybody left behind. So, I told her, even if you got saved as a teenager, I need you to rededicate your relationship with God and get your family to do the same; because we are living in the end times and you don’t want to be left behind. You want to make sure you are right with God so that you will be able to enter God’s Kingdom. REPENT AND BE SAVED! Nothing matters without God. I for one is a living testimony in what God has done in my life.
Thank you Jesus!
Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). We may feel like failures and wonder why God allows suffering. But as time passes we learn to look back and see how it all worked out for the best and the trial and tribulation drove us closer to Him. Today, God must be working in my heart. For three weeks straight, a friend that I knew during my childhood years has been trying to connect with me. Every Friday she would come with her husband to bring a bag of groceries from our Church. And usually she often stayed in the car while her husband made the delivery.
But what started this bitterness is because of miscommunication regarding our Bible Study. The bible study is hosted by Lucy therefore, it was her group/her home. I was her assistant. We had about 15-20 attendants weekly……the most in any life group we have in our Church. It was so successful that we were the talk of the Church. Everybody wanted to know how we did it. But to make a long story short, this friend that I am talking about decided that we need to make some changes. According to her, she was told by some leaders at church that we couldn’t do certain things and that we had to split the group. In honesty, she didn’t like how we ran it. Lucy, myself and others got upset. Some tried to be obedient to change but it was hard to be obedient because our feelings were hurt.
Today, when she visited and came out of her car, I felt pressured to speak to her. We talked a little and shared our feelings about politics because we often talked about that in the past. And when we had our friend visiting from California, all of us classmates would get together and meet for lunch at some fancy restaurant at a fancy hotel. It was fun, what I’m saying here is that, as Christians, sometimes we allow our flesh to run our life. And if you allow it to control you, you will lose your joy, hope, and victory, even your reason for living. In the end, you’ll become weak, powerless, and devoid of the desire or energy to pursue anything, let alone the high calling God has for your life.
The one factor that does impact God’s ability to use you is your own obedience to Him. Your heart must be willing. You must take authority over the flesh that would take you down a lazy path. And you must yield your body to God’s Spirit as an instrument of righteousness. That’s when you’ll find yourself on the path that leads to being used by God! If you think your “today” is not going well, think of what the future of those who die without Christ will be like (Rev 20:12-15). Sometimes when I look at people, I think, “I wonder where they’ll spend eternity.” Will it be in torment? Do they know the Savior?” I feel badly for those who are lost and don’t even know it. How sad that they don’t know the joy of being saved like we do. We might have a negative attitude, but at least God has rescued us and redeemed us. Think how sad it makes you feel that so many are going to die without Christ, and then do something about it–tell them how they might be saved – “Change Before You Have To.”
As I take a break from writing, a thought crossed my mind. Where did all the years go? I remember as a young girl, all I could think about is playing and having fun. No toys were needed. But I did have one Barbie and a fire truck that had pedals. With that being said, I drove it everywhere in the yard. That tomboy came out of me. Now that I am in my adult years, the thoughts of today are different. We are now facing chaos in our country and the world. Many are afraid, worried and even having sleepless nights. Some are even praying that God will remove the hatred in people, stop the chaos and corruption and heal our land. What are we to do? Faith in the news, says, “If we start our day off with prayer and give thanks for all we have, if we serve someone who is less fortunate than we are, if we think of our glorious and joyful future with Christ, if we think about those who are not yet saved and witness to someone today, and if we take a walk and walk in the Word daily, I think we can do much to turn a negative attitude into a positive one. God would want it to be that way.” Tiffany Markins!!!
World peace will come only when the people of this world are at peace within themselves.
Never Once by Marshall Segal Have I not commanded you? TO Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
LIVE ON THE PEACE AND JOY THAT WILL NEVER EXIST IN REALM The Prince of Peace Simply stated, Isaiah 9:6, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” What does it mean that Jesus is the Prince of Peace?
A friend emailed me: “Can you enlighten us on what is going on – in the earth’s energy field? I AM feeling strange in a not too pleasant way… Thank you.
On its own – humanity lacks the divinely revealed knowledge of how to bring peace. It is ultimately going to require the return to earth of Jesus Christ, and the setting up of the Kingdom of God, to bring true, just, lasting peace. World peace, or peace on Earth, is the concept of an ideal state of happiness, freedom and peace within and among all people and nations on Planet Earth. This idea of world nonviolence is one motivation for people and nations to cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance that has this objective. Different cultures, religions, philosophies, and organizations have varying concepts on how such a state would come about. Human beings, as they are today, are not ready for world peace, not even close. You can create peace in a room, peace at the dinner table, peace in your home, but the leap to nations and planets takes us out of the realm of reality and into our imaginations. Let’s not get egotistical about peace by shooting right for the be-all-that-end-all.
Desiring God To say that man can exist apart from God is to say that a watch can exist without a watchmaker – or a story can exist without a storyteller. We owe our being to the God in whose image we are made (Genesis 1:27). Our existence depends on God, whether we acknowledge His existence or not. As the Sustainer, God continuously confers life ( Psalms 104:14 ). Scripture connects inner peace specifically to peace among people: “Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. Genesis 1 :1-27
In my opinion there are a lot of different factors of energy coming into our awareness and these take a toll on us in many different ways. First and foremost, GMOs and chemtrails are horrendous human experiments – then all the while – include multi-dimensional frequencies, Schumann Resonance changes, 5G frequencies, solar flares and more. This all can wreak havoc on our bodies and our immune systems. We humans are re calibrating at a rapid rate and that brings on all kinds of symptoms, depending on how you organically hold your energy. I do my best to stay grounded and bubbled within!!! I suggest learning how to do this so that you will gain the skills of being grounded and protected in your energy field. This gives you better judgment as well, and then uses your inner voice to determine what is and is not of your best interest. I think we are in the times of redefining who we are and “the new normal.” We Just need to learn to protect ourselves and our space from our environment and Big Government. I have a meditation Here: for a grounding and bubble technique – maybe incorporate that into your daily routine to maintain better judgement, discernment, and grounding (peace of mind.)
Many folks are still holding onto negative frequencies and are stuck in this vibration – no judgment here – it is just the concept of letting go of what no longer serves you and this is what 2020 is all about. So, then most ask – how do I do that??? Well that is the great part about doing spiritual journeying – it is all so personal – you can do just about anything…it is all about intention to LET GO of what holds fear. This will open more frequencies of JOY. Then when you find even a shard of JOY – celebrate and gratify so that JOY becomes your new redefined YOU. Again, not telling anyone what to do or not do – it is all about personal choice. But I do know we humans will do this work either here or in between lives – so I suggest entertaining ways to do it while still here. 2020 is about gaining 20 / 20 vision – command better boundaries for your auric field. Your room. Your home. Your spaces and places. Command and practice discernment consistently. Command protection without fear.
You are protecting your fields – not being scared. Find support!!!
Lately, I find myself being totally uninterested in the news and toward current events and I have recently been cutting people out of my life because I feel they are lost, stuck in some strange dimension that I don’t want to be around. And yet my love and gratitude to Spirit has grown hugely. I feel now that I’m part of the universe, no, I feel I AM the universe. I am all of you.
I definitely realize – that I pick up on vibes instantly and I am an empath that I feel what people are going through. I can literally feel my energy being drained around low vibrAtional people and feel my energy spike around high vibrAtional people. It really messes with my anxiety. Sometimes I don’t know why I feel the way or what I’m feeling or what’s the purpose of it. I’ve learned to shield myself and stay positive and to keep my balance.
Here are a few common signs that indicate that you are struggling with an inner conflict!!
Follow certain simple yet Eight effective tips to deal with today world:
1. Give direction to yourself Recognize your inner conflicts and resolve them to make peace with your inner self. There are times when you behave totally opposite to what you really are and analyze your behavior a minute later. People who have inner conflicts usually seek support and get easily influenced by others around them. They always find it hard to make important decisions of life and wish someone else could do that for them. Such people get dependent upon others, which negatively affect their confidence.
2. A feeling of discomfort It feels as if life is moving in the wrong direction and we are completely helpless. People accept that things are bad but it is unfortunately a partial acceptance. They don’t actually try to fight the feeling but on the contrary try to suppress it (bury their heads in the sand), something which eventually worsens the problem.
3. Recognize the “root cause of the problem” It is quite difficult to find a solution to your problem until you acknowledge the fact that you really are struggling with the inner conflict. The feeling of inactivity of the recurring inner dialogues may be a strong indication to make sure, so that you can make an action plan.
4. Don’t suppress you inner conflict or violate your values Those who try to avoid or run away from their inner conflicts feed them even more. You must accept that you have inner conflicts so that your unconscious mind gets the message. Think of all the possible ways to come out of it instead of closing your eyes to them. You must remember that the act of violating your inner values actually instigates the inner conflicts. Listen to your heart when you make important decisions in your life and even if you have made a mistake in the past, make sure you don’t repeat the mistake again in future.
5. Tendency to be politically correct Such people often try to follow the footsteps of others regardless of what they really want to do. The tendency to do that often includes the desire to get support from others around them. What others value or say is much more important than what you believe in even if it takes you miles away from your goals. How do you actually react in a situation when you get loose money by the bank manager? Do you point it out or keep it in your pocket without uttering up a word? Your answer to this question can tell you clearly whether you are one of those who struggle with inner conflicts or not.
6. Don’t stress upon winning It is all right if you end up making a mistake or do not get the support of all others around you. Take it easy, as you get to learn something new every time you make a mistake or take the less traveled path to get success. You can never get approval from others if you don’t approve of your own methods to reach your goals.
7. Dump it on a piece of paper You must follow certain rules in life. Develop a belief system and values that help you give direction to your life. Do what you must do to reach your goals instead of running away from your responsibilities. Do not use “waiting for the right time expression” to procrastinate as it may lead to inner conflicts eventually.
8. Write the conflict on a piece of paper Psychologists believe that when you write down your conflicts give you a feeling that you have actually dumped it. Along with it, you get clarity of thoughts, which is important to make wise decisions. It is quite difficult to move on in life when you have inner conflicts troubling you day in day out. One of the best ways to deal with them is to follow your instincts or to do what your heart tells you to do.
All of that fear, anger and negativity will simply transcend with you into what is called karma. So again, you obviously get to choose to believe whatever you want to, as we all do. But many on the planet are a living testament to the fact that doing the hard work to release fear and regain balance in empowered love DOES work. While everyone goes through this process the way they choose – my advice is to do whatever you can to clear out fear and make sure to do all you can to upload joy and stay present. And also remember to work WITH the Law of Attraction – meaning focus on what you WANT versus what you don’t want. Because you’re creating anything you give attention to. TEACH yourself about energy and learn about your chakra system and RE-FUEL your body with love and self esteem. NO ONE can do this for you. Not even a healer for a discount price. Honor your body as it is the vehicle you create from and with. Do positive affirmations daily. Only focus on the positive. Stop focusing on the negative because you are the one drawing it in and if you believe that dark entities are harming you then they will. For every negative thought think three positive thoughts. Do your best to see yourself as love and light.
Nothing Positive Comes From Being Negative – as stated by Joe Nuxhall Born: Jul 30, 1928 · Hamilton, OH | Died: Nov 15, 2007 · Fairfield, OH and Joe Nuxhall should know he made an impact. On June 10, 1944, at 15-years-old – NUXIE became the youngest person ever to play Major League Baseball.
No one can take that from you and no one can do it FOR you. We must Command light around ourselves – it is all about raising your vibration. And BTW, if you DO choose to leave this planet (message to those thinking suicide) all of your fear and angst will go right along with you. I hope you realize that you will karmically still need to resolve what you do not do on this plane of existence. So in my opinion, it behooves you to do the work now, here, and find love and joy as it is your birthright.
This world is a beautiful place if you choose to see it that way. Thereby, I am learning to Surrender to all my existence (the good and the seemingly bad) is critical for overall health. Trusting your decisions and releasing fear opens the channels for You to flow through. My suspicion is that with complete surrender and trust in yourself (which is ultimately Source/God), life not only gets easier, but alignment to Soul purpose happens, and thus all of your dreams come true. Everyone has a right to their version of reality, and this includes navigating “this enlightenment process”. If you feel it is not safe for you, that’s your truth, it just may not be another’s. I personally believe “evil” has every right to be here – for others to discern the difference between those bad and those who are good. Just as I also have the right not to play in that sandbox so to speak. I raise my vibration. Just a thought. And BTW – what IS the REAL WORLD anyhow. We are very powerful humans and our thoughts create our reality both good and bad. Keep up the medical reasons search but when there are no answers there turn to your higher self and ask for assistance that way. The Law of Attraction helps a lot! It is more about the different frequencies fighting between folks, meaning when someone is holding a higher vibration in love and then encounters another that is holding a lower vibration if fear – those two energies – fight much like magnets pushing and pulling. This may sound odd to some but pretty “normal” to others that are energetically aware of this Ascension process and remember many folks are asleep to it and will not necessarily experience the same reality. The way I best navigate all this is to stay present, stay grounded and stay in the observer mode – meaning be somewhat in AWE of what is going on around us, and own it as your truth even if it is not everyone else’s. Go = Put God above ️
In these trying times: it’s important to Keep eating healthy & enjoying nature. It has always helped me re-charge & regain balance. It is OK to seek that out as much as you need it. Some people’s energy is being drained, so one thing I have recently learned is how to minimize physical encounters with those people & how to protect oneself when around such people. If it is not too uncomfortable for you, try the meditation. It is important to protect – ALL of yourself against – external negative, draining energy. There are positive affirmations you can say & write to keep your energy strong to repel and/or reduce the negativity from other people. I have been using “Mind Movies” & “MindValley” for various guided meditations they offer for free, as well as other courses about maintaining positive energy through affirmations. My favorite is: “You have the Heart of a Lion & You will Love Yourself no matter what the world tells You.” It is very powerful to say that to yourself while looking in the mirror – looking yourself in the eyes. It gives you a huge boost of energy from the Creator’s Energy within all the Life around us.
https://www.healdocumentary.com/testimonials.html HEAL, directed, written, and produced by Kelly Noonan and Adam Schomer, dissects the incredible relationship between spirituality and science that yogis seek to optimize on a daily basis. “The intention behind HEAL is to inspire, empower, and inform,” says Kelly Noonan Gores, the film’s director. “We are living in an epidemic of fear and stress. I wanted not only to shine a light on our bodies’ brilliant capacity for healing, but also present the scientific evidence proving our beliefs, thoughts, emotions have a direct and profound influence on our genetic expression. I want to include inspiring real-life stories to show us what is truly possible when it comes to healing, even when we are told there is no hope.” The film tells the unbelievable stories and healing journeys of real people who were able to cure chronic pain and overcome terminal illnesses using the “power of belief.” Leading scientists, master teachers, bestselling authors, and mind-body experts including Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson, Bruce Lipton,Michael Bernard Beckwith, and Anita Moorjani lend their insight to the film.
I suggest you Google and learn about the Law of Attraction as you are drawing in a lot of negatives and that will only multiply – you can paradigm shift this by CHOOSING to refocus on positive outcomes. Patience is key – usually our Higher Self knows exactly what is best for us. I would suggest studying the Law of Attraction to learn to paradigm shift. Throughout the darkness of the universe we can look forward to the shining stars of the universe. In this video Orion’s Nebula (Messier 42) https://youtu.be/tcQfeDsCosE it opened up a black hole or a tunnel with some kind of spellword to the four stars on the Nebula, I learned, I want to grow within my higher self. I want to be more protected, more able to control my thoughts, more full of love. I overthink in the realm of “higher-self”, what else is out “there”, how I feel much different than others. I want to feel human again. But also with the knowledge and guidance of my higher self and my guides. I know I am on my great path, I am just needing a tribe. Some people who understand, who can hear me, who I can help. I feel best when I help others, provide for others, loving others and being together. I feel full when I do this, but I need some support myself too, but from people that understand, who experience things similar to how I do. I do know the Physics of Change. Change is like Time. In fact, it is Time. There are as many factors involving Change as there are in Time.
Why Time DOESN’T Exist! (A Life Changing Truth) In my personal opinion there is no finish line with time it’s always in change, motion and transformation. It is the evolution of creations itself. The purpose IS co-creation. We are humans having a spiritual experience here on the planet and sometimes we forget that. The great thing about the changing energies is that it is going to continue to be different all the time; especially now when people are awakening at such a rapid pace – so maybe just try, try and try again – meaning I just keep trying new things to work with my energy. I try MANY different ways to play with the energies and these efforts will change as the energy changes. I think one of the things to do is to keep the FUN and the AWE in this process versus finding the frustration or the fear. The only thing one can do is to be aware of what’s happening and to observe. To interfere in any aspect would throw the outcome. If you are afraid, center yourself, step back and wait. You might be right in assuming, Koi, that the simplification we’ve done in order to make the concept of time more understandable to us, is misleading. The idea of a timeline might not be false though. Maybe time can be written on a timeline – the starting point being the Big Bang, and the ending point being either the end of the universe or an infinite amount of time along the timeline (in case the universe will never cease to exist). The past can obviously not be changed according to this theory (like most other theories of time), but neither can the present or the future, suggesting that time is predestined in a sense. This does not mean we can’t make our own future through decisions, but the timeline already “knows” which decision will be taken, or maybe there are an infinite amount of predestined timelines, the point being the predestination and time being “always” at all times. This “theory” has probably already been thought of before me, and that might be because it is as good as any common theory, since it like many of them also cannot be disproved in any way we know of. When questions get so complex that we can’t know which answer is the right one, we might as well choose one for ourselves. Does time exist, does time not exist. It really is up to each individual to just “pick one”.
Having Faith – just because we can’t see it … that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist! For in Him we live and move and have our own inner being, Our God is ALIVE. Alive and involved, in and through and over all that we see, touch, smell and sense… and even the things we cannot. He is not an idle idol, a statue sitting on a hill, a God too high and lofty to reach into the depths of our very souls. But rather is all around us, in us… It’s so easy to assume that we are alone in this world. We go through times of great hardship and feel alone… we may be surrounded by people, but in our heart of hearts there is an ache for a deeper connection and to be understood behind the realms of sound and sight. “He is not far from each of us” Although we may feel alone and as though God is dead and silent, He is actually, and quite really, very near to you, IT’S IN HIM THAT WE LIVE – our life comes from Him. His breath breathed into us, sparking life and sustaining us… AND MOVE – He is with us through every season and circumstance, every move and turn our lives make, He is but a call away… AND HE IS IN OUR BEING – He created us and our innermost self. He knows us deeper and more fully than any other human on the planet. He is longing to bring to the forefront the true value and purpose of our very being.
You Can Heal Your Life… You’re not alone, Christ is with you – all around you – empowering you. Have Your Best Day My Friends. 🙂
Italy’s Giglio Island has zero residents with coronavirus: But the island’s only physician is still worried about an outbreak!!!
Coronavirus: Decoding Covid-19 The global tally for confirmed cases of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 climbed above 16.7 million on Wednesday, according to data aggregated by Johns Hopkins University, and the death toll rose to 660,748. At least 9.7 million people have recovered. The U.S. case tally climbed to 4.35 million and the death toll rose to 149,258. A report from the White House Task Force created to manage the pandemic says 21 states are in the “red zone,” meaning they have seen more than 100 new cases per 100,000 people in the last week. [MAP:The Spread of Coronavirus]
Live tracker: How many coronavirus cases have been reported in each U.S. state? Brazil is second to the U.S. with 2.5 million cases and 88,539 deaths. India is third measured by cases at 1.5 million, followed by Russia with 827,455 and South Africa with 459,761. The U.K. has 302,295 cases and 45,963 fatalities, the highest in Europe and third highest in the world. China, where the illness was first reported late last year, has 86,990 cases, and 4,657 fatalities. But nobody has did it better in the free world then South Korea that has 14,251 cases and 300 fatalities, New Zealand having 1559 cases and 22 fatalities and a special mention to Greece with 3,279 cases and 203 fatalities from the European Union.
A tiny island off the coast of Italy has researchers confounded after the coronavirus failed to spread amongst its mostly elderly population. None of Giglio’s roughly 800 close-knit islanders said they developed COVID-19 symptoms, even though the conditions seemed favorable for the disease to spread like wildfire, Residents of Giglio Island, located in the Arcipelago Toscano National Park off the western coast of Italy, were terrified when they heard the news of the disease spreading through Italy and that two people were infected on the island, but the virus failed to infect the 800 or so year-round residents known to socialize in large group settings. The Gigliesi, as the residents are known, have socialized in the steep alleys near the port or on the granite steps serving as narrow streets in the hilltop Castle neighborhood, with densely packed homes built against the remnants of a fortress erected centuries ago to protect against pirates.
Dr. Armando Schiaffino, the island’s sole physician for around 40 years, shared worry about a potential local outbreak. “Every time an ordinary childhood illness, like scarlet fever, measles or chickenpox strikes, within a very few days practically all get” infected on Giglio, he said in an interview in his office near the port. Paola Muti, a breast cancer researcher at the University of Milan, where she’s been an epidemiology professor, decided to try to find out why it wasn’t happening this time. “Dr. Schiaffino came to me and told me, ‘Hey, look, Paola, this is incredible. In this full pandemic, with all the cases that came to the island, nobody is sick.’ So I said to myself: ‘Right, here we can do a study, no? I am here,’” Muti said. By then, Muti was trapped on the island by Italy’s strict lockdown rules. What was especially puzzling to her was that many of the islanders had had close contact with visitors.
Amy Kellogg reports on how the tourism industry is changing in the city amid COVID-19. Giglio’s first known COVID-19 case was a man in his 60s who arrived on Feb. 18 — a couple of days before Italy’s first “native case” would be diagnosed in the north. The man came to Giglio for a relative’s funeral, and had been “coughing all the way” through the service, Muti said. The virus is known to spread through droplets when someone coughs, sneezes or talks. The man headed back to the mainland on the ferry the same day and died three weeks later in a hospital.
In the initial days of the outbreak, several infected tourists had visited Giglio Islands, but none of the Islanders were contracted with coronavirus. Interestingly, several people have now started claiming that seaweed food habits among the islanders could be one reason that might be helping people to stay away from coronavirus.
Even though there is no scientific evidence to back these claims, several people have started propagating the vitality of including seaweed in the diet to combat coronavirus infection. According to the new study, sulfated polysaccharides effectively inhibit SARS-CoV-2. However, scientists made it clear that it is a complicated mechanism that is making heparin to inhibit coronavirus infection. “It’s a very complicated mechanism that we quite frankly don’t know all the details about, but we’re getting more information. One thing that’s become clear with this study is that the larger the molecule, the better the fit. The more successful compounds are the larger sulfated polysaccharides that offer a greater number of sites on the molecules to trap the virus,” said Jonathan Dordick, the lead researcher and a professor of chemical and biological engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute who led the study in a recent statement.
On March 5, four days before the national lockdown was declared, three more visitors came from the mainland and would test positive on the island. One of them was a German man from northern Italy, the initial epicenter of Europe’s outbreak. He socialized for several days with longtime friends in Giglio, including in public eateries. After a week, due to a bad cough, he was tested on the island and the result was positive. He self-isolated in a house in Giglio. Of the islanders evaluated, just one was discovered to have antibodies, a senior Gigliese guy who had actually cruised on the exact same ferryboat to the island with the German visitor, Muti stated. Intrigued about why “the virus didn’t seem to interact” with the island’s native population, Muti had not reached any conclusions by the time she was preparing to leave the island this month. She stated she prepared to write her research study for ultimate publication.
It’s possible, Muti thought, that islanders weren’t exposed to sufficient COVID-19 to get contaminated. That possibility was likewise voiced by Massimo Andreoni, head of contagious illness at Rome’s Tor Vergata healthcare facility. He kept in mind some clients were just less efficient in spreading out the illness for factors that were still uncertain. There were other known cases, including an islander who had lived in Australia for two years before slipping back onto Giglio in mid-March during lockdown to see his parents. Three days after arriving on Giglio, he developed a mild fever and tested positive, Muti said. He self-isolated at his parents’ home.
No other case has surfaced on Giglio, including since lockdown was lifted in early June, and tourists from throughout Italy have been arriving. for its incomparable Tranquility 🙂
Giglio is part of Tuscany, and its health office quickly sent over kits to test for antibodies to see if others may have had COVID-19. In late April, just before the first lockdown travel restrictions would be eased, the islanders had their blood tested, lining up outside the island’s school and doctor’s office. Giglio lies in pristine waters in a protected regional marine sanctuary, and the islanders voice relief that they live in a natural environment they like to think is good for health. Of the 800 or so year-round residents, 723 volunteered to be tested. “We all wanted to do it, to be tranquil” about any possible infection, but also “to help science,” said Simone Madaro, who had been working at the cemetery while the infected man had gathered with fellow mourners. The Rev. Lorenzo Pasquotti, the priest who conducted the service for around 50 mourners, and who himself was tested recalled: “After the funeral, there were greetings, hugging and kissing,” as is the custom. Then came the procession to the cemetery, where “there were more hugs and kisses.”
Of the islanders tested, only one was found to have antibodies, an elderly Gigliese man who had sailed on the same ferry to the island with the German visitor, Muti said. Intrigued about why “the virus didn’t seem to interact” with the island’s native population, Muti hadn’t reached any conclusions by the time she was preparing to leave the island this month. She said she planned to write up her study for eventual publication. It’s possible, Muti guessed, that islanders weren’t exposed to enough COVID-19 to get infected. That possibility was also voiced by Massimo Andreoni, head of infectious diseases at Rome’s Tor Vergata hospital. He noted some patients were simply less capable of spreading the disease for reasons that were still unclear.
Chance might have played a role, said Daniel Altmann, a professor of immunology at Imperial College London. “It could be something more or less trivial — nobody got infected because through good luck there was little contact,” he said in an email exchange. Or, Altmann also noted that “it could be something important and exotic,” such as a genetic variant common among the island’s population. With many of the Gigliesi intermarrying through generations, Muti would like to do a genetic study someday if she could obtain funding. Giglio lies in pristine waters in a protected regional marine sanctuary, and the islanders voice relief that they live in a natural environment they like to think is good for health, whatever Muti’s study might determine. “As an island, as the environment goes, we’re OK, no?” said Domenico Pignatelli, as the elderly man kept company with friends in chairs placed on a stony street atop Giglio.
Madonna Shares Coronavirus Conspiracy Video And Says Cure Is Being Hidden. The viral video, also retweeted by President Donald Trump before its deletion by Twitter, featured controversial Houston physician Dr. Stella Immanuel claiming she had treated hundreds of patients with hydroxychloroquine and prevented death. She also said masks were not necessary.
How many things can you think of in this world, that are “Free of Charge” with no strings attached?
Not many, that’s perhaps the reason: I have so many people reading this blog. Back in 1974, at a “Celebrity Roast” in Beverly Hills, California, long time comedian and actor Bob Hope was put on the “Hot Seat.“ Among the nearly 1,000 people in attendance were many of Hope’s long time friends and fellow entertainers from Hollywood’s early days. Bob Hope’s wife, Delores, was standing backstage reflecting upon the passing of two Hollywood legends, Gene Kelly and George Burns, said, “God must want us around for something. So many other wonderful people have gone and we are still here. I guess maybe we haven’t earned heaven yet.” How many mistakenly believe that they can earn their way into heaven? Accept this “Free Gift” as Salvation by asking the Lord to come into your heart and forgive you and your sins. If you’ve already taken that step, I challenge you to serve Him out of love and appreciation for the gift that he has given you. The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
The North Karelia Project . In the 1960s, the province of North Karēlia, Finland had one of the highest mortality rates from heart disease. The community appealed for help, and in 1972 authorities partnered with the World Health Organization (WHO) to launch the North Karēlia Project, which “aimed to transform the social and physical environment of North Karēlia.” Experts found that North Karēlians were at risk due to many lifestyle choices: a high smoking population, and an unhealthy diet including excessive salt and butter. So they took away smoking tobacco, drinking alcohol, consuming excessive salt and saturated fat and shifted the way people thought about food.) Thereby, Reduced the risk by 80% that proves you can’t have a diet at odds with health and you need one supportive of good health. The intervention was conducted at a community level involving health services, schools, local media campaigns, supermarkets, food industry, and many others aiming to reverse these high-risk tendencies. The initial project period lasted from 1972-1977 and resulted in the desired reduction in cardiovascular disease which experts attributed to reduction of risk factors. Today, North Karēlians continue to live healthier lives by maintaining the healthy changes initiated 40 years ago. It wasn’t a narrow prescription for More Years in Life but how to create more Life in Years. The North Karelia Project proved good health isn’t a narrow lane but a broad road to travel to preserve vitality. For more information, please visit: The Miracle Up North.
Henceforth, The Blue Zones are regions of the world where Dan Buettner claims people live much longer than average. The term first appeared in his November 2005 National Geographic magazine cover story, “The Secrets of a Long Life”. Buettner identified five regions as “Blue Zones”: Okinawa; Sardinia; Nicoya; Icaria; and among the Seventh-day Adventists in Loma Linda, California. He offers an explanation, based on data and first hand observations, for why these populations live healthier and longer lives than others. What Buettner realized was that in Sardinia, Italy and Ikaria, Greece the (Mediterranean diet) of high fats (Nuts seeds olives avocado and fish.) was something they favored. While in Okinawa, Japan and Loma Linda, California (the predominate Asian Diet) of low bad fats, grains and plant foods and in Nicoya, Costa Rica is in between with (an omnivorous diet) which led him to believe that variables in a broad base diet may work. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=omni+diet&FORM=HDRSC3
Jonathan Bailor with Dr. David Katz – How to Eliminate 80% of Diseases Dr. David Katz probed deeper into the The Blue Zones lifestyles of these cultures and found other similarities, While learning The Blue Zone fire on a six cylinder engine with Life Style as medicine. 1. Physical Activity 2. Balance Diet 3. Avoid Toxins Don’t smoke Drink Alcohol 4. Get Plenty of Sleep 5. stress reduction and 6. Love All Things About Your Life with Supportive Family life and Strong Neighbors Interactions (Having Social Bounds With One Another.) Thereby, Dr. Katz believes A Lot of businesses make money by keeping us confused by selling us junk food with mis-information that prevents us from being healthy. Big Government …. Big Food …. Big Pharma …. Big Publishing …. et cetera.
An Important 14 Keys to a Balance Wholesome Diet!!! Developing healthy eating habits isn’t as confusing or as restrictive as many people imagine. The essential steps are to eat mostly foods derived from plants—vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes (such as beans and lentils), and nuts—and limit highly processed foods. So if you eat animal foods, why would you want to make your stomach a graveyard of dead animals, eat fish, poultry, lean meat and you can add in some dairy products. Studies show that people who eat this way have a reduced risk of heart disease, diabetes, and possibly cancer and other chronic diseases. Here are the guidelines for building a healthy diet. The YouTube video is linked on the page and also embedded towards the bottom of the page. I believe this is an older video interview and a DVD is not necessary anymore. It is a 90-minute program but the video is only 51 minutes containing timeless information. I suspect the other things, PDFs and Power Point make up the rest of the time. Disease Proof by Dr. David L. Katz M.D.
With A whole lot of history! Catherine (Sananès) Katz, PhD received her BA (psychology) from the University of California, Berkeley ’81, and her PhD in neuroscience from Princeton University ’87. She went on to complete post-doctoral training at Yale University, where her seminal work in the area of learning and memory was published in the preeminent scientific journal, Nature. Born in North Africa and raised in southern France, Catherine learned Mediterranean French cooking from her mother and aunt. After marrying a nutrition expert, Dr. David L. Katz, Catherine applied her scientific acumen to the systematic reconciliation of great cuisine and great nutritional quality, recipe by recipe. The result is an approach to optimal eating she and David refer to as “loving food that loves you back,” an approach on which their five children (age range 20 to 30) have been raised. Cuisinicity.com® is about love, first and foremost. I didn’t realize it then but Cuisinicity was born when I fell in love with my husband a lifetime ago! He, Dr. David Katz, has gone from the aspiring Preventive Medicine resident I met back then, to a world renowned expert in nutrition and disease prevention. We met in an epidemiology class I was auditing at Yale – and the rest, as they say, is history.
THE BLUE ZONES DIET | The Longevity Diet – In this video, I am sharing one of my favorite research which is the longevity study on blue zones, areas of the world where the population of centenarians to the average population is much higher. ~ Christina Tsiripidou
Sardinia, Italy – Home to the world’s longest-living men. https://totalsardinia.com/blue-zone/ Sardinia is an Italian island that boasts one of the world’s largest population of centenarians and residents thriving over the age of 90, and has been termed a Blue Zoneafter decades of research conducted by the National Geographic Society. The ancient island is rooted in history and showcases natural beauty: pastel lands, mountains, forests, plains, rivers, rocky coasts and long sandy beaches. In modern times, many intellectuals and artists have celebrated the island’s allure, which continues to remain untouched. The dazzling sea surrounding the island is turquoise and its beauty is often compared to that of the Caribbean, and Maldives. Sardinia is only a 50 minute flight from Rome and Milan. It has 3 International Airports: Alghero in the Northwest, Olbia in the Northeast, and Cagliari in the South. It is an autonomous region and the second largest Italian island after Sicily. It is 7.5 miles (12 km) south of neighboring French island, Corsica in the Mediterranean. Additionally, there is up to 3000 hours of sunshine, with rain falls averaging only 1-2 months a year. It is considered to be the safest zone in Italy, and one of the best in Europe, as it refrains from any major seismic events or earthquakes. The island boasts an extremely lowcrime rate, and one of the safestplaces to travel to in Italy. Sardinia caters to those individuals who seek solitude, tranquility and privacy. The island is a haven of naturalbeauty and inspiration. The breathtaking landscape and sea serve as a sanctuary for many artists and seekers who want to further connect with Nature. A cluster of villages in a kidney-shaped region on this island make up the first Blue Zone region we ever identified. In 2004, our research team set off to investigate a rare genetic quirk carried by its inhabitants. The M26 marker is linked to exceptional longevity, and due to geographic isolation, the genes of the residents in this area of Sardinia have remained mostly undiluted. The result: nearly 10 times more centenarians per capita than the United States. But even more importantly, residents of this area are also culturally isolated, and they have kept to a very traditional, healthy lifestyle. Sardinians still hunt, fish and harvest the food they eat. They remain close with friends and family throughout their lives. They laugh and drink wine together.
Okinawa, Japan – Secrets of the world’s longest-living women. The islands at the southern end of Japan have historically been known for longevity, once called the land of immortals. Okinawans have less cancer, heart disease and dementia than Americans, and women there live longer than any women on the planet. Perhaps their greatest secret is a strong dedication to friends and family. They maintain a powerful social network called “moai,” a lifelong circle of friends that supports people well into old age. Okinawans also have a strong sense of purpose in life, a driving force that the Japanese call “ikigai.” According to the Japanese, everyone has an ikigai. To find it often requires deep enquiry and lengthy ‘search of self’ – a search which is highly regarded. https://upliftconnect.com/ikigai-finding-your-reason-for-being/ https://www.peopleatheartcoaching.com/finding-your-ikigai The word consists of ‘Iki’ (to live) and ‘gai’ (reason). The term ikigai compounds two Japanese words: iki (生き) meaning “life; alive” and kai (甲斐) meaning “(an) effect; (a) result; (a) fruit; (a) worth; (a) use; (a) benefit; (no, little) avail” (sequentially voiced as gai) to arrive at “a reason for living [being alive]; a meaning for [to] life; what [something that] makes life worth living; a raison d’etre“
Nicoya, Costa Rica – A Latin American Blue Zone. This Central American nation isn’t that far from the U.S. geographically, but it is way ahead of us in longevity. The Caribbean nation is economically secure and has excellent health care. But other factors are at play, especially in Nicoya, an 80-mile peninsula just south of the Nicaraguan border. One is the “plan de vida,” or reason to live, which propels a positive outlook among elders and helps keep them active. Another is a focus on family and a special ability to listen and laugh. Nicoyan centenarians frequently visit with neighbors, and they tend to live with families and children or grandchildren who provide support, as well as a sense of purpose.
Ikaria, Greece – The island where people forget to die. This tiny island’s long history has been as rocky as its topography. The outcropping in the Aegean Sea has been the target of invasions by Persians, Romans and Turks, forcing its residents inland from the coasts. The result: An isolated culture rich in tradition, family values – and longevity. Today, Ikarians are almost entirely free of dementia and some of the chronic diseases that plague Americans; one in three make it to their 90s. A combination of factors explain it, including geography, culture, diet, lifestyle and outlook. They enjoy strong red wine, late-night domino games and a relaxed pace of life that ignores clocks. Clean air, warm breezes and rugged terrain draw them outdoors into an active lifestyle.
Loma Linda, California USA – A group of Americans living 10 years longer. The Seventh-day Adventist church in this sunny pocket of Southern California was founded in the 1840s. The church flourished through the 20th century – so did its members who view health as central to their faith. Today, a community of about 9,000 Adventists in the Loma Linda area are the core of America’s blue zone region. They live as much as a decade longer than the rest of us, and much of their longevity can be attributed to vegetarianism and regular exercise. Plus, Adventists don’t smoke or drink alcohol.
How can you live like the American longevity all-stars? Try these tactics practiced in Loma Linda to live measurably longer.
Find a sanctuary in time. A weekly break from the rigors of daily life, the 24-hour Sabbath provides a time to focus on family, God, camaraderie, and nature. Adventists claim this relieves their stress, strengthens social networks, and provides consistent exercise.
Get regular, moderate exercise. The Adventist Health Survey (AHS) shows that you don’t need to be a marathoner to maximize your life expectancy. Getting regular, low-intensity exercise like daily like daily walks appear to help reduce your chance of having heart disease and certain cancers.
Spend time with like-minded friends. Adventists tend to spend time with lots of other Adventists. They find well-being by sharing each other’s values and supporting each other’s habits.
Snack on nuts. Adventists who consume nuts at least five times a week have about half the risk of heart disease and live about two years longer than those who don’t. At least four major studies have confirmed that eating nuts has an impact on health and life expectancy.
Give something back. Like many faiths, the Seventh-day Adventist Church encourages and provides opportunities for its members to volunteer. People like centenarian Marge Jetton stay active, find sense of purpose, and stave off depression by focusing on helping others.
Eat meat in moderation. Many Adventists follow a vegetarian diet. The AHS shows that consuming fruits and vegetables and whole grains seems to be protective against a wide variety of cancers. For those who prefer to eat some meat, Adventist recommend small portions served as a side dish rather than as the main meal.
Eat an early, light dinner. “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper,” American nutritionist Adelle Davis is said to have recommended –an attitude also reflected in Adventist practices. A light dinner early in the evening avoids flooding the body with calories during the inactive parts of the day. It seems to promote better sleep,
Put more plants in your diet. In support of a biblical diet of grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables, Adventists cite Genesis 1:29: “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” The Adventists encourage a “well-balanced diet” including nuts, fruits, and legumes, low in sugar, salt, and refined grains. Studies have shown nonsmoking Adventists who ate 2 or more servings of fruit per day had about 70 percent fewer lung cancers than nonsmokers who ate fruit once or twice a week. Adventists who ate legumes such as peas and beans 3 times a week had a 30 to 40 percent reduction in colon cancer. Adventists women who consumed tomatoes at least 3 or 4 times a week reduced their chance of getting ovarian cancer by 70 percent over those who ate tomatoes less often. Eating a lot of tomatoes also seemed to have an effect on reducing prostate cancer for men. A new study has found that adherents to this way of life have the nation’s lowest rates of heart disease and diabetes and very low rates of obesity.
Drink plenty of water. The AHS suggests that men who drank 5 or 6 daily glasses of water had a substantial reduction in the risk of a fatal heart attack –60 to 70 percent–compared to those who drank considerably less.
The Law Of Attraction Explained | Really Understanding the Law of Attraction! Being sincere, wholehearted, heartfelt, hearty, unfeigned means genuine in feeling. A sincere wholehearted apology suggests sincerity and earnest devotion without reservation or misgiving. promised our wholehearted support heartfelt suggests depth of genuine feeling outwardly expressed. expressing our heartfelt gratitude hearty suggests honesty, warmth, and exuberance in displaying feelings. received a hearty welcome unfeigned stresses spontaneity and absence of pretense.
Being Successful is about NOT Living Someone Else’s Lie? Many explanations of the Law of Attraction use particle physics to validate the scientific basis for the Law of Attraction. Therefore, one cannot use particles on one hand to validate the Law of Attraction and then on the other hand say that one is comparing apples to oranges. I think perhaps, we must realize that the Law of Attraction is only one Universal Law that works in tandem with other Universal Laws. In addition, we must realize that we don’t yet understand all the specifics of the way that spiritual consciousness creates the physical universe nor how our individual intentions interact.
We often forget that we are all in this together. Every consciousness for itself has never ended well. Vibrational resonance can change the orbit of planets. Magnetism does not operate alone, the force is actually electromagnetism. Gravity or more accurately the space-time continuum is warped and affected by mass – and what is mass? Concentration of energy. Perhaps the Law of Attraction is really a form of gravity.
Why WOULD I Expect The Employees to Give Me Their Best if I’m Only Giving Them the Bear Minimum?
In addition, thought is not the most important component in Attraction. Our thoughts and emotions often spring from our Spiritual Being, but they are not the source of our true power. Our desires are the carrot being waved in front of the rabbit that can motivate us to change who we are. But just ignoring our negative thoughts and emotions by covering them over with positive platitudes will not attract the changes we seek. It only serves to increase our dishonesty and put more distance between us and our true spirit. Feelings are the language of the Soul. We would do well to listen to the message instead of discounting a feeling that we deem as negative. If it guides us to the solution to expand our Being, is it really negative after all?
What Are Positive Affirmations (And Why Are They Powerful)? They say actions speak louder than words. However, this doesn’t mean that words don’t have any power. In fact, they do, and this is why what people say often affects us either negatively or positively, even if we don’t want to admit it sometimes. However, you also can utilize this fact to your advantage. You can use words to affect your mood and thinking or other peoples’. You can make use of positive affirmations to motivate yourself or encourage other people.
6 Reasons Why Laughter Is the Best Medicine Laughter is Contagious The discovery of mirror neurons—what causes you to smile when someone smiles at you—gives credence to the belief that laughter is contagious. When you’re feeling down, finding friends to laugh with can help your brain trigger its own laughter response and foster closeness, both of which contribute to your sense of well being. It turns out there’s some scientific veracity behind the old adage “laughter is the best medicine.” “Laughter activates the body’s natural relaxation response. It’s also like internal jogging, providing a good massage to all internal organs while also toning abdominal muscles,” says Dr. Gulshan Sethi, head of cardiothoracic surgery at the Tucson Medical Center and faculty at the University of Arizona’s Center for Integrative Medicine.
The Law of Attraction says that like attracts like – so why do electrons repel? I have to explain this is with music as music is a form of vibration we can all relate to. If I have a piano in one room and I play a note on a violin in another room, this same note will resonate so much that this same note if you are sitting near the piano you will hear coming from the piano. This is a Law Sympathetic Resonance, a little less esoteric than Law of Attraction, however, really the Law of Attraction is really the Law of Sympathetic Resonance at much higher frequencies of thought. It’s not the same as electrons, energy or magnets. It is more like music actually our whole universe is like a big symphony of music, this is why the law of attraction works for like attracts like.
We are trying to compare two different things, in each world there are different laws, for example we say water always seeks its level that is a law, but if we go down to a bug eye view, no the law is wrong, water is round and sticks up like a bubble it has a surface that is bulbous. That is because a drop of water has more resistance to gravity than say a bucket of water, because the drop is too small for gravity to push flat so instead it does as best as it can and pushes down all around and that forms the drop.
A question on attraction has brought up an interesting dichotomy: Which is true: Like attracts like – OR – Opposites attract? I am stating that if you need to express compassion in your life, that need in you will attract people who demand compassion from you. Take the case of Mother Teresa: she was called by God to treat the poorest of the poor. She thus sought out these people. But she attracted then to herself, because of her actions, the highest vibrational people on the planet. Her actions, in giving to the poor, came from her Love of and Obedience to God. But she did not “attract” the poor, but by her actions, attracted people who vibrated at her level. As I see it, Mother Teresa “attracted” the poor to her…because they needed her.
Do you see the dichotomy? What is going on here? How does the LOA work- like attracting like- or like attracting opposite? What I am basically saying is science says nature abhors a vacuum, therefore, a square peg and square hole are attracted together. One is a need, the other is an expression. However, the law of attraction (as in like attracts like) would have to say no: a square peg attracts another square peg and a square hole attracts another square hole. I am using geometry to express thought here. The entire “Sermon on the Mount” if said in LOA (like attracts like terms) would have had to have been something like this.
“I have some news for all of you, The poor in spirit will only attract more poor in spirit.” … Do you see our points?

A Smile Really Is Contagious Scientists In Sweden Have Figured Out Why It’s So Difficult To Keep A Straight Face If Others Around You Are Grinning Away. It’s Your Unconscious Mind Taking Control. Researchers At Uppsala University Had Volunteers Look At Pictures Of Expressionless, Happy, And Angry Faces. In Return They Were Told To Adopt Blank, Happy, Or Angry Expressions. When They Had To Meet A Smile With A Frown, Or A Frown With A Smile, They Had Trouble. Twitching In The Subjects’ Faces — Measured With Electronic Equipment — Indicated They Simply Didn’t Have Control Of Their Muscles. It’s Believed That There’s A Shortcut To The Part Of The Brain That Recognizes Faces And Expressions That Bypasses The Area Responsible For Conscious Processing.
There ’s Magic in Your Smile: How smiling affects your brain. One word of warning though – to those believing that thoughts are not “things” WRONG! Look at any modern up to date chart of electromagnetism and you will see that brainwave frequencies account for a very large amount of “stuff” on that chart. Every single thing consists of energy vibrating at specific frequencies. That’s what E=mc² means! Truth is that this is at the very heart of this debate. Thoughts ARE “things”. When you get a lot of different thoughts you will get a lot of great ideas and production!!! They have weight and mass. In the 50’s and 60’s the Russians built machines to record AND decipher thoughts. Successfully. This fact had far much more to do with the “Cold War” than most Americans can ever imagine. What Does Relational Gravity Mean? Remember the expression “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” That’s the heart of the theory of relational gravity as it relates to our social lives. Put another way, via Dr. David McClelland of Harvard University, the people you’re around you “determined as much as 95 percent of your success or failure in life.” Or maybe a little less stringent, “it’s not what you know, but who you know that counts.” Of all the reasons to be discerning about your friendships and there are many, the concept that our friendships build an orbit around us, controlling the pushes and pulls of our lives, holds the most water. But let’s not think of our friendships as tools for getting ahead in life, or fast-track tickets to success. Frankly, “success” and “failure” aren’t granular enough to warrant an orbit shift as severe as friendship culling. Instead, think about where you’re dissatisfied with yourself. How you react, how you support, how you contribute. How you spend your time, how often you learn new things, how brave or afraid you are when you stand on the precipice of something unfamiliar. Philosophy of Consciousness: Why You Are Not Stronger Than Your Environment!!!
Now think about the five people you spend the most time with.
You’ll only get to where you want to go if you’ve got the right teammates.
And not every friendship is created that way. Speak your mind is to speak of a somewhat abstract concept, which is not at all clear for many people. It is a word that aims to encompass the processes that happen in our brain: thoughts, consciousness, perception, beliefs, desires, sensations, etc.
The mind is the terrain where conscious, unconscious and functional processes take place. That mind is reflected in ideas, actions and different manifestations of brain activity. All this is produced from structured processes. In other words, all this mental activity is not random, rather it obeys patterns or blueprints that are learned throughout life. This does not mean that it is something unchangeable. In the brain, everything is susceptible to change.
“The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled”
While we still can’t engage in the world socially the way we once did, reflect on who you’ve got in your sphere of influence. I’m sure you’ve heard the quote, “who you surround yourself with, is who you become” a million times. The truth is that most of us have people in our lives that we care about but we know aren’t good for us. Darren Hardy spoke about this in his book The Compound Effect. He cites a 25-year long study done by social psychologist Dr. David McClelland from Harvard University. At the end of those 25 years he found that the people around you determine up to 95 percent of your success. Being successful requires daily actions… You have to attract successful people to become successful and push yourself out of the comfort zone.
A lot of us have negative or toxic people in our lives either because we’re friends with them for so long, or we think they’ll change. Sometimes, we may even think that we don’t deserve any better. But who you spend time with really is who you become.
So if you want to have a successful life, it might be time to drop them. I’ll teach you how you can make this process as easy and painless as possible in 3 steps.
Identify Negative People.
First thing you want to do is to ask yourself if this person or group of people are really benefiting me? Do they bring out the best in me or are they tearing me down? It’s perfectly okay to be honest about it. Do not worry that by doing this, you are being selfish. What you are trying to do is to figure out what’s going to be best for you long term in creating and enjoying the kind of life that you want to have, even though you may really care about that person.
Cut Your Ties With Them.
The second thing is to distance yourself and let go of that relationship. A lot of times it’s actually easier said than done. I remember having a friend that I really cared about but who lied all the time and made hurtful remarks. I tried to be understanding but I got to the point where I didn’t even know anything he said was true. If I asked myself, is this the person who I want to become?
And if I was being honest with myself, the answer was no. It wasn’t easy but it was worth it. I wanted to hold myself to a higher standard because I really believe that in life you get what you tolerate. So if you’re tired of being treated like crap or being walked over, then don’t tolerate that anymore. Make BIG changes in your life for the better:
Surround Yourself with Awesome People.
The third thing you want to do is to start to surround yourself with awesome and empowering people. In the same way that negative, toxic, and pessimistic people bring you down, bring on people who excite and inspire you to be a better person. The greatest tool you have for combating negative people is your own positive attitude. Start to embody the positive qualities that you want to see in other people because as you do… you’ll begin to attract those people into your life.
As they say, “like attracts like”, and it’s contagious! But what can you do to keep yourself in high spirits?
Try any of the following:
Surround yourself with positive people. Commit random acts of kindness. Keep a gratitude journal. Listening to Good Music. Spend time in nature. Meditate everyday.
MEET ALBERT EINSTEIN Lived: Mar 14, 1879 – Died Apr 18, 1955 (at age 76) 0nly A few individuals are born with remarkable intellect and possess human knowledge as profoundly as Einstein. Heralded as a great genius of his time he revealed the secrets of the Universe and brought a breadth of understanding that changed our whole perception of the world. Though, even for all of his lifetime achievements, there was one particular year that stood out as being the miracle year of Einstein’s career when most of his greatest works were published. 1905 was called Einstein’s ‘Miracle Year‘ with dazzling discoveries he was said to have revolutionized science producing four papers that changed what we know about the world. The scientist was at the age of 26 and the results of his efforts achieved during this time called nothing less than spectacular.
“The first explained how to measure the size of molecules in a liquid, a second posited how to determine their movement, and a third described how light comes in packets called photons—the foundation of quantum physics and the idea that eventually won him the Nobel Prize. A fourth paper introduced The Theory of relativity, leading physicists to reconsider notions of space and time that had sufficed since the dawn of civilization. Then, a few months later, almost as an afterthought, Einstein pointed out in a fifth paper that matter and energy can be interchangeable at the atomic level specifically, that E=mc² the scientific basis of nuclear energy and the most famous mathematical equation in history.
Jupiter-Uranus As astrologers, are keen to observe what kind of planetary activity was occurring in this particular year for such a remarkable time of accomplishment in the life of the Physicist. What has been observed is that in 1905 Einstein completed a thesis gaining a Ph.D. and writing, completing and submitting his papers when transitingSaturn formed a conjunction to Jupiter in Aquarius in the 9th house. The transit of Saturn aspect his natal Jupiter opposite Uranus aspect along the axis of knowledge (3rd/9th). To add, transiting Jupiter was also in the 11th house trine natal Uranus in the 3rd house, massively reemphasizing the Jupiter/Uranus aspect in his horoscope. The Jupiter-Uranus aspect is such a significant planetary combination for scientific knowledge and the movement of Saturn across this aspect indicated the time was ripe for it to be harvested. I shall explain why, in Einstein’s astrology chart Jupiter-Uranus plays such an essential, significant and important part in his intellectual life. Jupiter being placed in its own house can expand the boundaries of philosophy, knowledge, and it also broadens awareness and can signify the consciousness expanding. Furthermore, it offers a perception of life that is macroscopic and involves plenty of activities with teachers, mentors and gurus and obviously becoming oneself a teacher of knowledge. Jupiter is placed in the sign of Aquarius and is opposite Uranus, a double whammy, highlighting the great teacher and philosopher (Jupiter) of the cosmos, scientist, and physicist (Uranus). A Jupiter-Uranus aspect asks the big cosmological questions, and is on a journey of illumination, searching for answers that go beyond the rational, analytical and reasonable explanations.
Jupiter being the biggest planet in the solar system massively expands knowledge about science, space, and even astrology. A powerful intuition is usually an inherent factor in the personality, and the Jupiter-Uranus mind is restless on its journey across space and time. Jupiter-Uranus can have flashes of insight and truth and are always in search of knowledge; they can be a spiritual person who is light years ahead of their time. The Jupiter-Uranus contact also increases the scientific ability, broadening the perspective and the mind perceives possibilities everywhere. Jupiter in astrology can also mean being famous and with Uranus ruling higher mathematics it equates with Einstein coming up with the most famous equation – E=mc²
E=mc² Explained Einstein’s Proof of E=mc² Theory of relativity explained in 7 mins Einstein’s Theory Of Relativity Made Easy \ Uranus in the 3rd house was probably why he was a great mental channel and attracted him towards progressive, revolutionary ideas that can lead the mind to new insights; he was an inventive, original and intuitive thinker. The Uranian mind grasps concepts whole, and sometimes their ideas are light years ahead. Uranus in the 3rd house is the lightbulb over the head moment. Some Uranians view old subjects from a unique perspective and are often interested in intellectual systems – science, astrology, mathematics or astronomy. This placement of Uranus will usually attract them into associations of like-minded people, and the mind is also gifted at synthesis and good at making intuitive leaps. In 1900, the transiting Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Sagittarius was conjunct Einstein’s Moon in the 6th house and trined his Mercury in the 10th house when he was published by a prestigious academic and the first of his scientific works to be printed. Einstein took a holiday to New York in 1921, for the first time when transiting Jupiter was conjunct the I.C and square his natal Moon (both I.C and Moon relate to home) and it certainly puts an emphasis on the need to expand one’s roots as Jupiter rules by expansion and travel and teaching. Saturn was also transiting through the 4th house opposite Sun in Pisces and a lot of it involved business and there were three weeks of lectures and receptions. Uranus was also opposite Uranus, and he was around 42 and experiencing the midlife crisis and the urge to uproot in life. He also published an essay, “My First Impression of the U.S.A.,” in July 1921, in which he tried briefly to describe some characteristics of Americans, much as Alexis de Tocqueville did, who published his own impressions in Democracy in America (1835). For some of his observations, Einstein was clearly surprised: “What strikes a visitor is the joyous, positive attitude to life . . . The American is friendly, self-confident, optimistic, and without envy.” Obviously describing Sagittarius rising in America’s chart. Source:
Some not-so-known facts about the greatest genius of his time.
1. Einstein failed his first college placement test.
It was clear from the beginning that Albert was rather different. He was considered to have a speech impediment that caused him to speak very slowly. He would rehearse full sentences in his head before he would speak them. He was nine years old before he began to speak clearly; this speech impediment is now known as “Einstein Syndrome.” His parents actually believed him to be exceptionally challenged, which we all know today was inaccurate. The real truth was that Einstein was capable of learning anything but he just learned things differently than most would consider “normal.” Most would now consider this very similar to “asperger syndrome”
2. He was a visual learner. While discovering and solving different equations and comparing gravitational reactions, he did the majority of his work through visualization. He was able to accurately imagine his experiments in his mind so that he could watch them play out. In turn, we can conclude that most of what he discovered, he discovered by looking within.
3. He did a lot of drugs. He was known to smoke a lot of marijuana and it is said that he also enjoyed an array of hallucinogenic drugs. Dimethyl-triptimene, a drug also known as DMT, was found in his system during his autopsy. This in itself is profound because DMT is said to have extreme effects on the human consciousness. Interestingly enough he and Nikola Tesla have said that their greatest discoveries and ideas showed themselves during meditative visions (possibly trips?). He was also a heavy user of cocaine, LSD, and meth.
4. He constructed the Theory of Relativity. He realized that matter actually distorts the space-time around it resulting in what we know as gravity. Which led him to another question; what is gravity? Gravity is acceleration; one force moving against another. In the open universe, though, some of this force is unseen which would later become described as “dark matter.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=s2nU9DzEi-cNow through Einstein’s theory, we are able to understand that we live in an ever-expanding universe, in constant acceleration at phenomenal speeds gravitating around more massive matter.
5. Albert’s second wife was actually his first cousin. They shared a maternal grandmother and to make matters more strange their fathers were also first cousins. I’m just as shocked as you are.
6. Einstein was actually quite the macho man. He was known for having an impressive roster of mistresses. He married twice and had three children. This leaves one to wonder where in the world he found the time to do all of this? Discover universal laws, explain gravity, have a career, and court multiple women.. It’s now no surprise that his life’s goal was to time travel….all in one lifetime?
7. He Had a Love Affair With Lina his violin and was a talented player. Albert excelled in mathematics, physics, and beloved music. He was even known to do large performances in concert. That is a lot of talent crammed into one man.
8. There is an element named in his honor. It was discovered in the aftermath of the first hydrogen bomb detonation. After his death, it was decided that the element be called “Einsteinium.”
9. He was, personally, extremely anti-war. He did not believe in violence and adamantly opposed war of any kind. He did not initially intend for his theories to be a stepping stone in the development of nuclear weapons.
10. His brain was stolen. The pathologist who was directed to examine Einstein after his death, stole his brain and kept it in hiding for more than twenty years. His goal was to find the source of Einstein’s genius, but he was unsuccessful.
11. He was quite the humanitarian. Although it was said that he was a poor family man, he advocated for many human rights movements. He involved himself with the United State’s civil rights movement fighting racism. Also, given that he was a Jew who fled Germany during the Nazi regime, he used his connections with other countries government leaders to influence them to accept Jewish- German scientist refugees fleeing the Nazi Regime. This saved thousands.
12. Einstein’s ideas and discoveries are priceless. The story of the man who looked inside himself to unlock mysteries of the universe is something that feels so similar to science fiction— nothing short of miraculous and amazing.

The General Theory of Relativity is much like racism in this country which does not exist? Rather It is perception of the person and the image they cast off and how other people perceive that person to be. Hence we should not judge a book by its cover 🙂 So Smile and WELCOME the other person into you LIFE!!! Two Smiles Make Everything Okay When We Meet 🙂 🙂
Asian flu: A pandemic of influenza A (H2N2) in 1957-58. First identified in China in late February 1957.
The Asian flu spread tothe United States by June 1957 where it caused about 70,000 deaths. Also known as Asian influenza. Immunity to this strain of influenza A (H2N2) was rare in people less than 65 years of age, and a pandemic was predicted. The 1968 pandemic was caused by an influenza A (H3N2) virus comprising two genes from an avian influenza A virus, not only, including a new H3 hemagglutinin, but also, contained the N2 neuraminidase from the 1957 H2N2 virus. It was first noted in the United States in September 1968. The estimated number of deaths was 1 million worldwide and about 100,000 in the United States.
The Spanish flu killed quickly, and it killed in huge numbers. Other flu pandemics in modern times have been far less deadly. Why? If you are reading this article, you have probably lived through at least one global flu pandemic – one just as contagious as the deadly 1918 strain. There was the 1957 outbreak (the so-called ‘Asian flu’) and the ‘Hong Kong flu’ in 1968. Forty years later, in 2009, there was ‘swine flu’. Each pandemic had similar origins, emerging, one way or another, from an animal virus that evolved to be able to pass between humans. Yet the death tolls were barely omparable. Between 40 and 50 million are thought to have died from the 1918 strain – compared to two million for the Asian and Hong Kong influenza, and 600,000 for the 2009 swine flu, both of which had a mortality rate of less than 1%.
The human cost of the 1918 pandemic was so great that many doctors continue to describe it as the “greatest medical holocaust in history”. But what made it so deadly? And could that knowledge help us prepare for a similar pandemic today? You might also like: The flu that transformed the 20th Century The places that escaped the Spanish flu It’s a myth that flu vaccines give you the flu An understanding of these pandemics would be impossible without a recognition of the huge leaps in medicine over the 20th Century. Doctors in 1918 had only just discovered the existence of viruses. “And they certainly didn’t know that this was a virus causing these diseases,” says Wendy Barclay at Imperial College London. They were a long way from the antiviral medications and vaccines that can now help to stem the spread and promote a quicker recovery.
Many flu deaths are also caused by secondary, bacterial infections that take root in the weakened body, leading to pneumonia. Antibiotics like penicillin – discovered in 1928 – now allow doctors to reduce that risk, but in 1918 there was no such treatment. Nor did they have vaccines, which now help to protect those who are most at risk. “Our health care infrastructure and diagnostic and therapeutic tools are so much more advanced,” says Jessica Belser, who works at the influenza division of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Besides the lack of basic medical tools in 1918, deaths would have also been a direct result of the appalling living conditions at this tragic time in human history. The trenches would have been the perfect breeding grounds for infections among the World War One soldiers. “The virus emerged when populations, which previously had little contact with each other, were brought together on the battlefield,” says Patrick Saunders-Hastings at Carleton University in Ottawa. “And in a lot of cases they were dealing with other injuries and they were under-nourished.” Vitamin B deficiencies, in particular, have been noted to increase mortality rates in later pandemics, he says.
Even those left at home were still living in closed, crowded conditions that led to greater exposure to the virus. This not only accelerated transmission, increasing the chances that people would become infected; it also increased the severity of the symptoms. “We know that the bigger the dose that gets into you, the sicker you get, because the virus is able to overwhelm the immune system and take a hold more potently in your body,” says Barclay. “It’s well understood that improved sanitation and hygiene, associated with industrialization and general reductions in poverty, have contributed significantly to overall reductions in infectious disease mortality in the 20th Century,” agrees Kyra Grantz at the University of Florida. Analysing records from Chicago during the 1918 pandemic, she has shown that factors such as population density and unemployment directly influenced someone’s chance of catching the disease.
Interestingly, the data from Chicago also appeared to show a strong link between mortality risk and rates of illiteracy within different regions of the city. This may be because illiteracy was simply a proxy for other factors associated with poverty. But it’s possible that a person’s lack of education also played a direct role in the disease’s progression. By the time the techniques to capture, store, cultivate and analyze viruses had been invented, the original deadly strain had long since disappeared. “There were tremendous efforts made by public health officials to halt the outbreak in Chicago, including a city-wide quarantine, school closures, and bans on certain social gatherings,” Grantz says. “Those measures will only be effective if people are aware of and adhere to them.” Such factors notwithstanding, many scientists believe that the virus itself was also particularly virulent – although it has taken more than a century to understand exactly why. By the time the techniques to capture, store, cultivate and analyze viruses had been invented, the original deadly strain had long since disappeared. But recent advances in genomic technology have now allowed scientists to resurrect an active virus from blueprints from inert historic samples, which they have then used to infect laboratory animals such as monkeys to study its effects.
Besides replicating very quickly, the 1918 strain seems to trigger a particularly intense response from the immune system, including a ‘cytokine storm’ – the rapid release of immune cells and inflammatory molecules. Although a robust immune response should help us fight infection, an overreaction of this kind can overload the body, leading to severe inflammation and a build-up of fluid in the lungs that could increase the chance of secondary infections. The cytokine storm might help to explain why young, healthy adults – who normally find it easier to shake off flu – were the worst affected, since in this case their stronger immune systems created an even more severe cytokine storm.
To understand why the 1918 strain would have had this effect, we need to return to its origins. The 1918 flu is thought to have only just evolved from a strain that typically infected birds – acquiring mutations that allowed it to infect the upper respiratory system. This meant that it could be transmitted through the air – in coughs and sneezes – more easily. It’s not good for the virus to kill the host as soon as it infects it, because that host has less chance of passing the virus on to other people – Wendy Barclay This is important for two reasons. Without previous exposure to the virus, the body’s immune system would not have been able to produce an efficient response.
Just as importantly, however, the virus itself had not yet fully adapted to life in a human body. Contrary to expectations, it is not normally within a flu virus’s interests to kill the host. “It’s not good for the virus to kill the host as soon as it infects it, because that host has less chance of passing the virus on to other people,” says Barclay. Instead, it just needs to hitch a ride for long enough to spread through your coughs and sneezes. As a result, most viruses evolve to become less pathogenic overtime – but the 1918 virus had not yet made those adjustments. The later pandemics, in contrast, had already incorporated some of these adaptations before they spread across the world – and were less deadly as a result.
The 1957 pandemic, for instance, emerged when an existing human strain of the virus acquired some genes from an avian variety. The result was highly contagious strain, but the existing human components meant it was still less deadly than a virus of purely avian origins. Similarly, in 1968, the so-called Hong Kong flu came from another “reassorted” version of existing viruses that already carried the less virulent adaptations. The 2009 pandemic, meanwhile, was a swine flu that had originated in pigs – which, although not identical to humans, are at least closer to us than birds, meaning that it had already accrued some adaptations that toned down its virulence. Studying these processes not only help us understand tragedies of the past; by identifying the genetic features that were responsible for the devastating effects of the 1918 pandemic, we may be better prepared to prevent similar tragedies in the future. “From my perspective, having more information about past pandemic viruses can help guide our decision making and knowledge and guide how we will best address future pandemic threats,” says Belser. China is accused of hiding the findings of a coronavirus expert – known as “Bat Woman” – after she quickly identified the genetic make-up of the new strain that has infected millions. Wuhan-based virologist Shi Zhengli is one of the world’s top researchers on coronaviruses and has discovered dozens of deadly SARS-like viruses in bat caves. She studied samples taken from some of the first people to become infected with the new and then-mysterious respiratory illness in China in December and found it was similar to SARS. It was identified as a novel coronavirus and within three days she completed its gene sequencing, finding that it was 96 per cent identical to a virus found in horseshoe bats in Yunnan. But she was “muzzled” and her team was ordered not to reveal any information about the new disease, which was already spreading rapidly as China kept the world in the dark. In the middle, the intelligence services from the “Five Eyes” nations (US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) have suggested a compromise by saying that COVID-19 probably arose naturally from bats in China, but was accidentally leaked from a lab in Wuhan. These claims are the latest to emerge after a cover-up by Chinese authorities who failed to share information or issue warnings early on and, ultimately, contain a virus that emerged in Wuhan and then spread around the world.
Michael Worobey, Professor, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, The University of Arizona states, The Spanish influenza pandemic of 1918 was the most intense outbreak of disease in human history. It killed upwards of 50 million people (most in a six-week period) casting a long shadow of fear and mystery: nearly a century later, scientists have been unable to explain why, unlike all other influenza outbreaks, it killed young adults in huge numbers. I will describe how analyses of large numbers of influenza virus genomes are revealing the pathway traveled by the genes of this virus before it exploded in 1918. What emerges is a surprising tale with many players and plot lines, in which echoes of prior pandemics, imprinted in the immune responses of those alive in 1918, set the stage for the catastrophe. I will also discuss how resolving the mysteries of 1918 could help to prevent future pandemics and to control seasonal influenza, which quietly kills millions more every decade.
For those wondering what is the name of the Silver Bullet might be?
Dr. Richard Bartlett may (or may not) have the answer: Budesonide is sold under the name brand Pulmicort Respules. This is the type that can only be used by inhalation using the nebulizer. Type of Steroid: Corticosteroids Used in a twice daily dose nebulizer (cost of home nebulizer machine is about $40 at any drug store and does not require a prescription for the machine) to prevent asthma exacerbations and has been a safe standard of care for years. The drug does require a prescription. Google Pulmicort and you will find it.
Young & Gifted!!! The Christopher Duffley Story. It’s hard to believe it has been over 19 years since Christopher Duffley. entered into our lives on May 01 2001. At the time of his birth, I had four of my own children ages 8 months to 8 years. I can honestly say, it all started with a prayer and then a tug at my heart. Before Christopher’s homecoming, there was a prayer that was very popular that year, and it went like this: “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil.”
The Prayer of Jabez: This prayer, taken from 1 Chronicles 4:10, is about asking God to bless your life, your work and to be upon your future plans. I was reciting this prayer, giving each day to God, not out of what he can do for me, but rather, what can I do for Him. By entrusting each day to him, I knew where I needed to be, that he would help me with whatever happened, good or bad.
As we prayed and discerned about having Christopher come into our home, it was remarkable to see how open our children were to having another sibling, knowing that he was not “normal”. Steve and I both felt that by inviting Christopher into our family, we were also obeying the voice of God. In the bible it says “Whoever welcomes one such child for my sake welcomes me”. Jesus wasn’t kidding when he shared this with his disciples, as recorded in Matthew’s gospel. We also felt that we were modeling to our children what our faith professes, the gospel of Life. At four years old, he discovered what a microphone was and sang along with the worship team as we took part in a disaster relief ministry called Eight Days of Hope. Two albums later, he now sings Christian and inspirational songs during engagements with churches, disability ministry events, school presentations and even corporate events.
Christopher’s first public performance took place when he was in first grade at Northwest Elementary School in Manchester, New Hampshire. On that occasion Christopher sang the Star Spangled Banner at a Memorial Day Assembly in front of his classmates, their families and veterans. Christopher Duffley at 10 Years old with an amazing voice. He proves that someone who looks different doesn’t mean he has anything less. This boy is a gift for all of us. Keep singing Christopher and Let’s share Chris’ angelic voice:
Christopher sang before he ever held a conversation. “Open the Eyes of My Heart” has been his first and favorite song his whole life. Love This Performance of Open The Eyes of My Heart – Christopher Duffley and World Outreach Worship Since that time he has sung the national anthem for various audiences, coast to coast. Most notably, Christopher has performed the national anthem at Fenway Park (July 2011, Sept. 2013, & August 17, 2015) and NASCAR racing (Sept. 2011). Christopher’s story and music began being featured by major media outlets in the spring of 2011 and reached a trending status on Facebook in August of 2015 after he sang at Fenway Park. He was given the title “10 Amazing Individuals with Autism who Shined” by Autism Speaks in 2013.
Christopher and Grace sang during the World Meeting of Families televised on CNN, reaching thousands in downtown Philadelphia on over 40 jumbotrons during Pope Francis’s visit in 2015. He became a Youtube sensation when the video recording of “Open the Eyes of My Heart” during a New Hampshire worship event, became viral, reaching an international level, being translated into many languages. Two albums have been released. The first was produced by Dove Award winning producer, Steven V Taylor, in 2012 called “Eyes of My Heart.” In August of 2015, we went back to the studio to record the second album with his sister Grace, “Believer.” They are available here: SHOP!! Four original songs will be released in the Fall of 2016. His most exciting adventure is theMission Possible Podcast which was launched in April 2016. Christopher creates interviews and engineers 10 minutes interviews with people who are on a Mission in life and best of all, it is FREE. Go to our Podcast link above to read more! In September of 2014, Know Greater Love Ministries was established KGLM.org. There is so much to share, and I am honored that you have spent the last few minutes reading the beginning of our story. When I first began to research cancer back in early 2006.
I thought it was the number one problem that needed a fix in our great country. 14 years later it doesn’t even rate in the Top 10. Today and around the World I believe Civil Unrest: if we don’t nip it in the bud it could blossom into another Civil World. That’s something Globalist and the Democrats would love to see. When I started to research this I came up with Larry Elder | “Uncle Tom Documentary” that was released June 2020. Then I found a link to AMERICAN THOUGHT LEADERS, By Jan Jekielek. Checkout the Complete Interview HERE.
Some of the highlights Mr. Elder stated in this episode was I have been working on this film for two years, along with the director, Justin Malone, and it is about the grief people like Candace Owens, Herman Cain, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Allen West, and Clarence Thomas get for simply suggesting that maybe, just maybe, the policies that blacks have been following, the democratic policies that blacks have been voting for, the left-wing policies that maybe we ought to rethink.
Uncle Tom is not an angry film. It’s not a film that says: how dare you call us these nasty names? It’s a film that says: why can’t we have an intelligent discussion about whether or not we should be supporting school choice? Why can’t we have an intelligent discussion about whether or not we should be supporting Roe v. Wade? Why can’t we have an intelligent discussion about whether or not we should be having stronger borders? Because the studies suggest that unskilled illegal aliens take jobs away from unskilled black and brown workers and put downward pressure on their wages. Can we have a discussion about this without my being called an Uncle Tom, a self loather, or a sellout?
Uncle Tom suggests: The number one problem in the black community is not racism. It’s not bad cops, although we both know both exist. The number one problem is the large number of blacks who were raised without fathers. In 1965, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who later on became a democrat senator from New York, wrote a paper called “The Negro Family: The Case for National Action”. At the time, 25 percent of blacks were born outside of wedlock, a number that he thought was horrific.
He felt if we don’t do something, take some sort of national action, this is going to get worse. We’ll fast forward. Now 70 percent of black kids are born outside of wedlock, 25 percent of white kids now are, and nearly half of Hispanic kids are. Forget about Larry Elder. Barack Obama once said, “children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools and twenty times more likely to end up in prison.” [Barack Obama’s remarks at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago on Father’s Day]
In my opinion, if you look at the proliferation of kids born outside of wedlock, it parallels the rise in social spending under the so-called war on poverty that was launched in the mid-60s. Lyndon Johnson launched it with the best of intentions. He felt that it was going to make people more self-sufficient. All it did was create dependency. What is done is to incentivize women to marry the government and incentivize men to abandon their financial and moral responsibility. It is the number one social problem in America in general and the number one social problem in the black community in particular, and we’re not having that discussion.
Mr. Elder stated: The narrative is that racism remains a powerful impediment for black progress in America, whether it’s systemic racism, a term you hear a lot, structural racism, another term you hear a lot, institutional racism, or one that I heard Beto O’Rourke come up with, foundational racism. If America were institutionally racist, why is it that in the 50s if you ask white people, would they ever support a black person president? The answer was no. Fast forward, Obama got elected. He got a higher percentage of the white vote than John Kerry did. We’re [still] talking about institutional racism. It’s crazy.
Part of the protesters are demanding diversity in our police departments. As if, once you have diversity, magically these problems are going to go away. L.A. is about 40 percent or so Hispanic, about 30 percent white, a little under 10 percent black, the rest of it is Asian or Pacific Islanders. That’s exactly the percentage of the LAPD, and it is still being accused of being racist. In the NYPD, it’s the same thing. If you look at the racial demographics of the city and look at the demographics of the police department, they mirror each other, and still recently, the officers of the NYPD are being subjected with water balloons. [There are] urine-filled water balloons, trash cans full of water thrown at them, cars set on fire. Never mind how diverse the NYPD is. The average person that the average person on the street is going to encounter will be a person of color, [but] it doesn’t matter, because of this false narrative.
The stats simply do not reflect the idea that the police are going after black people. If anything, the stats show the opposite. There is a black economist named Roland Fryer who teaches at Harvard. Because of all these prolific, high profile shootings, he just knew that the police were disproportionately using deadly force against black people. He was kind of surprised that no one had done a comprehensive study to corroborate that, so he thought he would do it. He said that the results were the most surprising of his career.
Not only were the police not using deadly force disproportionately against blacks, they were more hesitant, more reluctant to pull the trigger on a black suspect than on the white suspect, presumably because they were afraid of being accused of being racist. That same result was replicated in a study published in a publication put out by the National Academy of Sciences, where researchers looked at every shooting in 2015 [and] every shooting in 2016. [There was the] same conclusion: the police were not using deadly force disproportionately against black people.
The reason blacks are two and a half times more likely to be killed by a cop than a white person is the crime rate, which is substantially higher in the black community than in the white community. A young black man is eight times more likely to be a victim of homicide compared to a young white man. The number one cause of preventable homicide of young whites is accidents like car accidents and drownings. The number one cause of death, preventable or non-preventable for a young black person is homicide, almost always committed by another young black person.
It’s not cops killing black people, it’s black people killing other black people. According to the CDC, the rate at which cops kill blacks has declined 75 percent in the last 50 or 60 years, while the rate at which police kill whites has flatlined. So arguably, if anybody has anything to complain about, it’s white people, because if you look at the crime rate, one would have thought that the rate at which police kill blacks would be even higher. If anything, the cops are hesitant, as I mentioned in these studies, to use deadly force against a black person because of a fear of being accused of being racist.
How, nine unarmed black men were shot and killed by the police according to the Washington Post last year [in 2019]. Nineteen unarmed whites were shot and killed by the police last year, altogether fifteen [fourteen] unarmed blacks. That number is still smaller than the nineteen whites who were shot and killed. If there’s a White Lives Matter protest that was arranged, I never heard about it. It is not happening. [Editor’s Note:] These numbers have since been updated by the Washington Post to 13 unarmed black men and 25 unarmed white men.
Isn’t this good news? That’s the other thing about my movie I tried to stress. I’m suggesting that the problems that you’re talking about in America can be explained away in a nonracial way. Isn’t that good news? To know that the disproportionate number of blacks being killed by the police has to do with our crime rate and not because the police are racist, isn’t that good news? Then shouldn’t we start tackling what’s going on with our families that’s causing all of this stuff?
Mr. Elder also states:Heather Mac Donald: Probably nobody has done a better job of assembling all the data on police and police interaction with civilians, then Heather McDonald. Read the police public context survey. Heather Mac Donald wrote the book; The War on COPS, How the new attack on law and order makes everyone less safe. And In Chicago, Mac Donald said, where blacks are about a third of the total population, 80 percent of the homicides are committed by blacks, compared to one percent by whites.
I googled for a minute to see if that checked out, and it didn’t. But the numbers I found were from a different year and the difference was small. In 2011, the last full year for which I could find the statistics, of 128 homicides in Chicago broken down by race, blacks represented by far the most killed (75 percent of all victims compared to 5% for whites) and the vast majority of killers (71 percent of those convicted for homicide to 4 percent for whites.) The reasons for this are surely rooted in history, economics, sociology and some other social sciences you can name. And it doesn’t exactly prove everything Mac Donald might like it to prove, but it does demonstrate that a lot more African-Americans are being killed by other African-Americans than by white cops. Does this demonstrate anything fundamental about the questions that divide Mac Donald and the Black Lives Matter “narrative”? Not really. If we’re talking about whether there is some racialized thinking that leads to some officers being more likely to pull the trigger if the target is black, it doesn’t change things much if we bring in numbers, by race, of who is killing and getting killed when no police officer is involved. But I suppose it does support her implication that if someone wants to reduce the number of killings of African-Americans, the effort should focus on stopping the main murderers of African-Americans.
That’s something that the DOJ does every three years. They asked over 60,000 Americans “In the last year, did you have contact with the police? If so, tell me about your contact. Were you verbally abused or physically abused? They can’t find any evidence whatsoever of a pattern of abuse against black people. It’s not like the government doesn’t care about this. They’ve been looking at it.
There’s a study that came out during the Obama administration called Police Data Initiative. It was published by the National Institutes of Justice, which is the research arm of the DOJ. They tried to find out whether or not black people were being pulled over because of racism. They found out 75 percent of black motorists admitted that they were stopped for a legitimate reason. The other big takeaway is that you name the offense, whether it’s speeding, driving without a license, driving without your headlights, or driving without an expired tag, a black motorist was more likely to do it.
Again, isn’t this good news to know that the disproportionate cases of blacks being pulled over has to do with behavior and not because of racism? Again, that study came out in 2013.There was an allegation years ago that the police were [specifically] pulling over a black motorist on the New Jersey Turnpike. The then Governor Christine Todd Whitman ordered a study. The study came in, and they found out officers couldn’t even tell the race; the cars are going too fast.
The reflection of the light at night, forget about it. You can’t even tell who’s in the car. They concluded that the reason black people were being pulled over, is because the faster the speed, the more likely it is, it’s a black driver driving. She didn’t like the results. She complained about bad methodology and hired a different group. [With a] different methodology, [they received the] same result. [Racism is] not there.
The data just do not support that. Isn’t this good news.
By the way, it doesn’t mean there aren’t bad cops. When a cop kills somebody, no matter his race or her race, that should be investigated by the feds. They have awesome power, and they should be watched, but the idea that there’s some sort of systemic pattern simply is not borne out by the data. If it were, I wouldn’t say what I said. I don’t want the police to have a free rein and go after black people any more than anybody else does. It just isn’t there. You’re making things worse.
One of the scenes in the film is this now famous interview that you did with Dave Rubin, where on camera he kind of realizes that he doesn’t get what he means about systemic racism himself. Why are we still talking about systemic racism? If, as you’ve argued, there really aren’t many real examples of it?
Mr. Elder also stated: Because [the concept of systematic racism] advances the agenda of a lot of people. It advances the agenda of the media. I think a lot of people in the media went into the profession because of [Bob] Woodward and [Carl] Bernstein. In the 1970s, they’re the ones who exposed Richard Nixon and all the stuff he was doing. A lot of people went into journalism because they wanted to be a champion, right the wrongs, what’s the term: comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable, something like that. I think a lot of young people who have gone into the media truly believe that racism remains a major problem in America. They’re around a lot of other young people, and they all say the same thing, so they’re all having these feelings being reinforced.
I also think that it sells copies. If you run stories about George Floyd being a microcosm of the racism in America, it sells copies. Racism sells. It also advances the interests of academia, there are a whole bunch of professors that are professors of African American Studies, professors of ethnic studies, and where are they going to go if all of a sudden, people realize that race has never been more insignificant in terms of becoming successful in America?
Where are these people going to go?
And of course it advances the agenda of the Democratic Party, because without getting black people angry and stirred up over the assertion that “racism remains a major problem, and by the way, these republicans over there don’t give a damn about that, and we do,” the Democrats don’t get that 90-95 percent, nearly monolithic black vote without which they cannot win at the presidential level. They have to constantly talk about race and racism, and they have to go after people like Candace Owens, Larry Elder, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain, and Allen West, because they reflect the antithesis of what the Democratic Party stands for.
The Democratic Party stands for “you are a victim, and we’re here to help you.” Black conservatives are saying, “Not only are we not victims, but many of your policies are hurting the very people you claimed to help.” Take the minimum wage. Study after study has shown that what it does is cause employers to defer hiring decisions, reduce the hours of people’s jobs, or raise prices on the very people who are going to be buying things in the inner city that don’t have a great deal of money. These things are counterproductive.
The welfare state is counterproductive for the reasons that I just mentioned. You’re incentivizing women to marry the government and allowing men to abandon their financial and moral responsibility, that’s why we have this 70% out of wedlock birth rate right now. Not doing anything about illegal immigration hurts. George Borjas, the Harvard economist, has probably done more work on the impact of legal and illegal immigration than maybe any other economist. He says no question that unskilled, illegal aliens compete for jobs that otherwise would be held by black and brown unskilled Americans and puts downward pressure on their wages. We’re not even having that discussion.
For a black conservative to raise these kinds of issues, instead of igniting a healthy discussion about whether or not we ought to be advocating tighter borders and whether or not we ought to be voting for the party that does that, people like myself are denounced as Uncle Tom and sellouts. The word that I dislike the most is not Uncle Tom, not bootlicker, not bug-eyed bootlicker, not bug-eyed foot shuffling bootlicker, not coconut, not Oreo, not the Antichrist.
I’ve been called all those things.
