Strength in Conviction is one personality trait I see in common mostly in cancer free survivors and when it comes to Darryl Anne Mooney. She isn’t and exception to that rule. Darryl Anne Mooney was diagnosed with breast cancer and told if she didn’t have chemotherapy she would be dead within three months.
What Darryl did next was to take her life in to her own hands becoming a true inspiration to others. Darryl Anne Mooney is an Independent mum with four children. She is also an author, columnist, inspirational speaker and mentor.
Darryl was diagnosed with Stage II Breast Cancer in September 2013, and was told she would need a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and her lymph nodes removed straight away. Darryl went into hospital to have a mastectomy but just before she was wheeled down to her operation, she made the life changing decision to say no.
Despite being told she would die within three months, Darryl walked out of hospital with the belief that she would heal her cancer the natural way. She made the decision to do what she felt was right, rather than feeling she had to ‘do the right thing’ as the Dr. asked. Darryl did not feel putting toxic carcinogenic chemicals into her body was the way to heal it.
Many people have asked her how she had the courage to leave hospital. Darryl’s answer is simple but powerful. God’s voice was louder. So without question she knows that cancer happened for a reason and she has chosen to heal her own body.
Darryl also helps and inspires others with cancer. With her passion she has found huge purpose and has set up a charity to help share her journey and showing others there is a choice in healing, other than surgery, chemicals and the roller coaster which can be called conventional medicine. 🙂

1. The essence of our being is love.
Love cannot be hindered by what is merely physical. We believe the mind has no limits, nothing is impossible, all disease is potentially reversible. And because love is eternal, death need not be viewed fearfully.

8. We can be peaceful inside regardless of what is happening outside.
Despite the chaos in our lives, we can choose to be peaceful, know that we are connected and sustained by our loving, peaceful source.

Peace comes to us when we recognize and demonstrate that all our relationships are equal.
10. We can focus on the whole of our life rather then the fragments.
It is an illusion to believe…. that our lives are separate from each other. Healing is focusing on our interconnectedness with each other and all living things.

We begin to let go of our fear of death when we truly believe that what is real never changes and that love is always present.

Meridians are like rivers that run up and down and all around. As these river – like meridians in the body are defined by function. For example: lung meridian originates in the upper chest and runs down the arm. Therefore, if someone has a cough this may indicate that lung Qi ….pronounced Chee… is flowing in the wrong direction.
Also take the stomach Meridian as another example which begins in the face and ends in the diaphragm. Henceforth, if someone is feeling nauseated and vomiting we use the word throwing up. These river – like meridians in the body are defined by functions as well as by movement.
All of our organs have an intimate relationship with the energy flowing, blood traveling and moisture creating environment that’s within. Which this meridians function. The concept of a system of channels touches upon the core meaning and holistic nature that characterizes Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Understanding the body and its parts as being…. intimately inter connected and explicable only by reference to the whole system. When these physical systems within your body are blocked. You experience signs of discomfort and die-ease. So when you restore the flow and release the dis-ease.
If the Qi in a meridian is blocked the body suffers disharmony. While physical blockage can be influenced by a strong pathological factor such as a cold and flu. Symptoms of an emotional blockage such as stress and anxiety, can manifest as a slowing or weakening of the flow of Qi and blood.
Particular areas of the body and the body structures become less energetic. The shoulders physically feel rigid, and the tightening in the chest often will cause a lot of sighing.
This slow down is happening in the meridians and it makes the local body systems less capable of removing toxins via blood or the fluids in the lymphatic system. Which would other wise be free flowing, it therefore, causes further deposition of waste in the same areas. These activities will repeat themselves indefinitely if the stress is not attended to.
This is why stress is a common cause to chronic dis-ease. Therefore, any factor affecting the skin, tendons, bones, organs or limbs in any small or large way inhibits movement and function in the meridian system. What this means …. is that all kinds of illnesses — including those that we experience as being caused by exterior factors, emotional issues, internally generated disease, and unexpected injury or trauma can create irregularities within the channel.

Acupuncture: Lets go back to the image of the river like flow being blocked by debris. Image making a small hole in the pile of debris. Over time the force of the river flow will widen that hole. Until the blockage will be carried away and the normal course of the stream is restored. By inserting a needle into a specific acupuncture point for a blocked meridian, something similar happens.
Meridians have certain acupuncture points that, when needled, will have a significant impact on the flow. In this way, by inserting needles. It is possible to exert a direct therapeutic effect in the channels and organs thus increasing bodily functions.
Yoga for overall performance: Since meridians are running up and down and all around. When your stretching, You are often stimulating the flow in meridians as well. You can focus on certain poses to free the obstructions in a particular meridian.
A great example of this is the well known DownwardDogPose. Which is often used as an active rest position in yoga classes. Because it feels fantastic; almost every meridian is being stimulated in this pose. Including the Lung… and Heart Meridians in your chest, arms and shoulders.
What these meridians also do is influence respiratory issues, allergies, cold and flu, symptoms, anxiety and even insomnia. TheDownwardDog also stretches all the meridians along the chest and back of the legs. Including the stomach area which encourages healthy digestion and much more.

Which can help all kinds of digestive issues as a result of stretching out the stomach and spleen meridians in the front part of the body. Signs these blockage and/or the Qi effect flowing in the wrong direction could be acid reflux, heart burn, bloating and gas, diarrhea or constipation.

Tai Chong: (Liver 3 translated as Great Surge) is located on the foot between the big toe and the second toe, about 1 inch from the web. Applying pressure to this point on each foot is very grounding and reduces anxiety. While simultaneously treating insomnia and other stress related maladies. A. The short answer is yes, but let us explain why. A properly aligned spine will have proper joint motion. This motion is crucial because it sends proprioception feedback into the central nervous system, including the brain, and decreases nociceptive or harmful input into the brain. This positive input into the brain inhibits the amygdala (the stress and anxiety center of the brain). The result is controlled emotions, decreased stress and anxiety, and it also stimulates the pleasure centers of the brain. When a spine is misaligned, joints do not move properly. This decreases the proprioceptive input into the brain, it increases harmful nociceptive input into the brain and it stimulates the amygdala. This leads to stress, anxiety, out of control emotions, and decreased pleasure in life. A misaligned spine also stimulates a series of reactions known as the stress response that causes the production of catacholamines and cortisol, which can lead to insulin resistance and eventually disease such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, depression, etc. Regular chiropractic care detects and corrects subluxations (misalignments) of the spine to allow your body to function optimally, physically, physiologically and mentally.
Chiropractors work on the basis that if the spine is out of alignment, it will affect human health. Indeed, there is much evidence that this is the case.
As one example, Henry Windsor, MD in Haverford,Pennsylvania,USA dissected a total of 75 human and 22 cat cadavers. He found that 221 structures other than the spine were found diseased. Of these, 212 were observed to belong to the same sympathetic (nerve) segments as the vertebrae in curvature.
The diseases he examined are as follows:
Stomach Disease– All 9 cases of spinal misalignment in the mid-thoracic area (T5-T9) had stomach disease.
Lung Disease– All 26 cases of lung disease had spinal misalignments in the upper thoracic spine.
Liver Disease– All 13 cases of liver disease had misalignments in their mid-thoracic (T5-T9).
Gallstones– all 5 cases with gallstone disease had spinal misalignments in the mid thoracic.
Pancreas– All 3 case with pancreatic disease had spinal misalignments in the mid thoracic.
Spleen– All 11 cases with spleen disease had spinal misalignments in the mid thoracic.
Kidney – All 17 cases with kidney disease had spinal misalignments in the lower thoracic.
Prostate & Bladder Disease– All 8 cases with kidney, prostate and bladder disease had the lumbar (L2-L3) vertebrae misaligned.
Uterus – The 2 cases with the uterine conditions had the L2 misaligned.

Can Powerful Emotions Kill You? The Negative Health Effects Of Anger, Loneliness, Stress, Sadness, And Shock…
Though feelings are powerful forces and an inescapable part of life, they can have a pretty significant effect on your health — especially if they’re negative emotions. Below are five common emotions that can have a negative impact on your well-being unless they’re coped with properly.
Anger
Studies have shown that anger can actually lead to heart attacks and an increased risk of cardiovascular problems — perhaps not surprisingly, as a sudden burst of anger can cause over-the-top surge of chemicals throughout the body, like adrenaline and noradrenaline. During a bout of anger, the brain’s amygdala overreacts; blood rushes to the frontal lobe, the area in charge of reasoning. This is why anger can often be blinding — and can lead to you throwing a phone at the wall.
But along with this impaired judgment, anger can also bring with it dangers to your cardiovascular system. There are a “number of physiological changes” occurring in our bodies when we get angry. Further research is needed to figure out exactly how anger can have such a strong impact on our health. But what researchers found was that two hours after an angry outburst, people had nearly a five -fold increase in heart attack risk, and a three-fold risk increase for stroke. “Although risk of experiencing an acute cardiovascular event with any single outburst of anger is relatively low, the risk can accumulate for people with frequent episodes of anger,” Dr. Elizabeth Mostofsky, researcher at the Harvard School of Public Health and a lead author of the study.
Loneliness
Loneliness may also be just as dangerous as a sudden outburst of anger. It tends to be a long-term condition, like depression, and is a risk factor for early death, according to Dr. John Cacioppo, a psychologist at the University of Chicago and author of a study about loneliness. Feeling lonely could increase your risk of premature death by 14%, he found. “Loneliness is a risk factor for early death beyond what can be explained by poor health behaviors,” Cacioppo told USA Today. “Poor quality of sleep hastens aging.”
It’s important to maintain social relationships with friends and family, and to even make small talk with new faces every once in a while. Older people who are lonely tend to have higher levels of stress, and less of an ability to adapt to difficult situations if they don’t have anyone to lean on. Loneliness can increase levels of stress hormones in the body like cortisol, affects sleep quality, and increases blood pressure. Isolation and solitude can also weaken your immune system. So maintain your friendships and social bonds; it will do you good.
Stress And Anxiety
It’s almost common knowledge at this point that stress has a huge negative effect on our bodies. Stress almost always manifests itself through physical symptoms: migraines, grinding teeth, lightheadedness, nausea, exhaustion, heart palpitations, insomnia, and a decreased or increased appetite. Constantly worrying and carrying a burden of stress has been linked to early aging, high blood pressure, chest pain, and a weakened immune system. People who are stressed are less likely to take care of themselves, sleep and eat properly, and thus are more likely to get sick.
Stress can make existing problems worse. In one study for example, about half the participants saw improvements in chronic headaches after learning how to stop the stress-producing habit of “catastrophizing,” or constantly thinking negative thoughts about their pain. Chronic stress may also cause disease, either because of changes in your body or the overeating, smoking and other bad habits people use to cope with stress. Job strain – high demands coupled with low decision-making latitude — is associated with increased risk of coronary disease, for example.
Learning how to reduce your stress could be one of your best investments — exercise, eating healthy, and giving yourself “me” time as well as a chance to relax and unwind will go a long way.
Shock
Shock, or trauma, can cause both short-term and long-lasting consequences on both your mind and body. Shock typically involves an unexpected situation that throws an unprepared person off their feet, and leaves them unable to cope or react properly. Psychological trauma occurs in the brain, and can actually change the structure of the brain in the area where the frontal cortex, emotional brain and survival brain converge. Physical symptoms that occur due to shock or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) include sleeping and eating issues, sexual dysfunction, lack of energy, and chronic pain.
Sadness
It’s called heartbreak for a reason. When you’re experiencing deep grief or sadness, it takes a toll on your health, too. One study from St. George’s University of London found that it is actually possible to die of a broken heart, bereavement increases your risk of heart attacks or stroke by nearly double after a partner’s death, the researchers discovered. “We often use the term a “broken heart” to signify the pain of losing a loved one and our study shows bereavement can have a direct effect on the health of the heart,” Dr. Sunil Shah, is a senior lecturer in public health at St. George’s, said in a press release.
How does psychological stress affect people who have cancer?
People who have cancer may find the physical, emotional, and social effects of the disease to be stressful. Those who attempt to manage their stress with risky behaviors such as smoking or drinking alcohol or who become more sedentary may have a poorer quality of life after cancer treatment. In contrast, the people who are able to use effective coping strategies to deal with stress, such as stress management techniques, have been shown to have lower levels of depression, anxiety, and symptoms related to the cancer and its treatment. However, there is no evidence successful management of psychological stress improves cancer survival.
Evidence from experimental studies does suggest that psychological stress can affect a tumor’s ability to grow and spread. For example, some studies have shown when mice bearing human tumors were kept confined or isolated from other mice—conditions that increase stress—their tumors were more likely to grow and spread (metastasize). In one set of experiments, tumors transplanted into the mammary fat pads of mice had much higher rates of spread to the lungs and lymph nodes if the mice were chronically stressed than if the mice were not stressed. Studies in mice and in human cancer cells grown in the laboratory… have found… that the stress hormone norepinephrine, part of the body’s fight-or-flight response system, may promote angiogenesis and metastasis.
In another study, that women with triple-negative breast cancer who had been treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy were asked about their use of beta blockers, which are medications that interfere with certain stress hormones, before and during chemotherapy. Women who reported using beta blockers…. had a better chance of surviving their cancer treatment without a relapse than women who did not report beta blocker use. There was no difference between the groups, however, in terms of overall survival.
Although there is still no strong evidence that stress directly affects cancer outcomes, some data do suggest that patients can develop a sense of helplessness or hopelessness when stress becomes overwhelming. This response is associated with higher rates of death, although the mechanism for this outcome is unclear. It may be that people who feel helpless or hopeless do not seek treatment when they become ill, and also give up prematurely on or fail to adhere to potentially helpful therapy, engage in risky behavior such as drug use, or do not maintain a healthy lifestyle, resulting in premature death.

Looking back to May 2014 when we first started the Solitarius facebook group. We had a cancer coach on board DrTamara Hartley Hunt. Whom always had others interest at heart. Most recently the start of June, I heard that Dr. T passed away from colorectal cancer…. being first diagnosed May 26, 2012. That said, On January 2, 2002; Johanna McClure was diagnosed with stage IV Ovarian cancer. After an amicable divorce from her husband of twenty five years. Johanna found herself in a position to redefine her future. She had a huge change of life as she returned to school and earned and received her bachelors degree at age forty – nine.
She then pursued her dream job, bought her own home, fell in love and eventually moved to another town. After a wonderful Christmas spent with her family. Johanna experienced severe bloating and discomfort; she was miserable. A CT Scan revealed ovarian cancer. Johanna immediately began treatment and took the first steps on a nine year journey.

Most of us have experienced the joy of playing with a furry friend, and pets are a rewarding way to bring more laughter and joy into your life. But did you know that having a pet is good for your mental and physical health? Studies show that pets can protect you depression, stress, and even heart disease.
Laughter is your birthright, a natural part of life that is innate and inborn. Infants begin smiling during the first weeks of life and laugh out loud within months of being born. Even if you did not grow up in a household where laughter was a common sound, you can learn to laugh at any stage of life.
Begin by setting aside special times to seek out humor and laughter, as you might with working out, and build from there. Eventually, you’ll want to incorporate humor and laughter into the fabric of your life, finding it naturally in everything you do.
Here are some ways to start:
Smile. Smiling is the beginning of laughter. Like laughter, it’s contagious. Pioneers in “laugh therapy,” find it’s possible to laugh without even experiencing a funny event. The same holds for smiling. When you look at someone or see something even mildly pleasing, practice smiling.
Count your blessings. Literally make a list. The simple act of considering the good things in your life will distance you from negative thoughts that are a barrier to humor and laughter. When you’re in a state of sadness, you have further to travel to get to humor and laughter.
When you hear laughter, move toward it. Sometimes humor and laughter are private, a shared joke among a small group, but usually not. More often, people are very happy to share something funny because it gives them an opportunity to laugh again and feed off the humor you find in it. When you hear laughter, seek it out and ask, “What’s funny?”
Spend time with fun, playful people. These are people who laugh easily–both at themselves and at life’s absurdities–and who routinely find the humor in everyday events. Their playful point of view and laughter are contagious.
Bring humor into conversations. Ask people, “What’s the funniest thing that happened to you today? This week? In your life?”
Developing your sense of humor: Take yourself less seriously
One essential characteristic that helps us laugh is not taking ourselves too seriously. We’ve all known the classic tight-jawed sourpuss who takes everything with deathly seriousness and never laughs at anything. No fun there!
Some events are clearly sad and not occasions for laughter. But most events in life don’t carry an overwhelming sense of either sadness or delight. They fall into the gray zone of ordinary life–giving you the choice to laugh or not.
Ways to help yourself see the lighter side of life:
Laugh at yourself. Share your embarrassing moments. The best way to take yourself less seriously is to talk about times when you took yourself too seriously.
Attempt to laugh at situations rather than bemoan them. Look for the humor in a bad situation, and uncover the irony and absurdity of life. This will help improve your mood and the mood of those around you.
Surround yourself with reminders to lighten up. Keep a toy on your desk or in your car. Put up a funny poster in your office. Choose a computer screensaver that makes you laugh. Frame photos of you and your family or friends having fun.
Keep things in perspective. Many things in life are beyond your control—particularly the behavior of other people. While you might think taking the weight of the world on your shoulders is admirable, in the long run it’s unrealistic, unproductive, unhealthy, and even egotistical.
Pay attention to children and emulate them. They are the experts on playing, taking life lightly, and laughing.
Checklist for lightening up
When you find yourself taken over by what seems to be a horrible problem, ask these questions:
Is it really worth getting upset over?
Is it worth upsetting others?
Is it that important?
Is it that bad?
Is the situation irreparable?
Is it really your problem?
Using humor to overcome challenges and enhance your life
The ability to laugh, play, and have fun with others not only makes life more enjoyable but also helps you solve problems, connect with others, and be more creative. People who incorporate humor and play into their daily lives find that it renews them and all of their relationships.
Life brings challenges that can either get the best of you or become playthings for your imagination. When you “become the problem” and take yourself too seriously, it can be hard to think outside the box and find new solutions. But when you play with the problem, you can often transform it into an opportunity for creative learning.
Playing with problems seems to come naturally to children. When they are confused or afraid, they make their problems into a game, giving them a sense of control and an opportunity to experiment with new solutions. Interacting with others in playful ways helps you retain this creative ability.
Here are two examples of people who took everyday problems and turned them around through laughter and play:
Roy, a semi-retired businessman, was excited to finally have time to devote to golf, his favorite sport. But the more he played, the less he enjoyed himself. Although his game had improved dramatically, he got angry with himself over every mistake. Roy wisely realized that his golfing buddies affected his attitude, so he stopped playing with people who took the game too seriously. When he played with friends who focused more on having fun than on their scores, he was less critical of himself. Now golfing was as enjoyable as Roy hoped it would be. He scored better without working harder. And the brighter outlook he was getting from his companions and the game spread to other parts of his life, including his work.
Jane worked at home designing greeting cards, a job she used to love but now felt had become routine. Two little girls who loved to draw and paint lived next door. Eventually, Jane invited the girls in to play with all the art supplies she had. At first, she just watched, but in time she joined in. Laughing, coloring, and playing pretend with the little girls transformed Jane’s life. Not only did playing with them end her loneliness and mild boredom, it sparked her imagination and helped her artwork flourish. Best of all, it rekindled the playfulness and spark in Jane’s relationship with her husband.
As laughter, humor, and play become an integrated part of your life, your creativity will flourish and new discoveries for playing with friends, coworkers, acquaintances, and loved ones will occur to you daily. Humor takes you to a higher place where you can view the world from a more relaxed, positive, creative, joyful, and balanced perspective.

He shares stories from his years on the road in comedy clubs as well as a poignant story from his multiple trips to the Middle-East to perform for our troops. Where a young soldier showed him the real value in laughter. Steve also plays a prank on the TED audience in the spirit of the “Pay it Forward theme of the event.”
Suzanne Whang gives an inspiring speech discussing her battle with Stage 4 breast cancer at a roast….. thrown for her by Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo in LA circa 2011. This woman is ballsy, badass and brave! I am in awe of her courage. Why do cancer survivors and those just starting out need to hear from her? Because it takes real courage to fight a disease like this, and attitude is everything. Suzanne is NOT one to hold back on that front. That’s ok. Maybe, if nothing else, hearing it from her will spike your interest in not surrendering to this monster under the bed. You won’t be as afraid to confront the elephant in the room. And if you like to live vicariously, she will also be happy to say all those incredibly rude, outrageous things you’ve been thinking. She might even get you to laugh.
And laughter is always the best medicine for whatever ails you. There are real physical benefits from a belly laugh — you breathe better, your blood flows better, your mental health improves. But it’s what a good belly laugh does for the human spirit that counts the most. Rise above cancer, even just for a moment, and you are no longer in its grip. Set that disease aside and you get to live your life again because you choose to laugh, instead of cry. Take back the “remote control” on your life and fill it with mirth. You may not control the events you experience, but you sure control the replay action. Never forget that.
Modern life is full of hassles, deadlines, frustrations, and demands. For many people, stress is so commonplace that it has become a way of life. Stress isn’t always bad. In small doses, it can help you perform under pressure and motivate you to do your best. But when you’re constantly running in emergency mode, your mind and body pay the price. You can protect yourself by recognizing the signs and symptoms of stress and taking these steps to reduce its harmful effects and might even eliminate it’s dirty cousin depression?
What is stress?
Stress is a normal physical response to events that make you feel threatened or upset your balance in some way. When you sense danger—whether it’s real or imagined—the body’s defenses kick into high gear in a rapid, automatic mobilization process known as the “fight-or-flight” response.
This response is the body’s way of protecting you. When working properly, it helps you stay focused, energetic, and alert. In emergency situations, stress can save your life—giving you extra strength to defend yourself, for example, or spurring you to slam on the brakes to avoid an accident.
Stress can also help you rise to meet challenges. Stress is what keeps you on your toes during a presentation at work, sharpens your concentration when you’re attempting the game-winning free throw, or drives you to study for an exam when you’d rather be watching TV.
But beyond a certain point, stress stops being helpful and starts causing major damage to your health, your mood, your productivity, your relationships, and your quality of life.
How your body responds to stress
The latest research into the brain shows that, as mammals, we have three ways of regulating our nervous system and responding to stress:
Social engagement or social communication is our most evolved strategy for keeping ourselves feeling calm and safe. Since the face and heart are wired together in the brain, socially interacting with another person—making eye contact, listening in an attentive way, talking—can calm you down and put the brakes on defensive responses like “fight-or-flight.” Social engagement is how you clear up misunderstandings, ask others for help or forgiveness, and calmly handle daily interactions. When using social engagement, involuntary body functions such as breathing, blood pressure, heartbeat, and digestion work healthily and the body is able to repair and grow new cells uninterrupted.
Mobilization, otherwise known as the fight-or-flight response. When social engagement isn’t an appropriate response and we need (or think we need) to either defend ourselves or run away from danger, the body prepares for mobilization. A flood of stress hormones including adrenaline and cortisol are released to rouse the body for emergency action. Your heart pounds faster, muscles tighten, blood pressure rises, breath quickens, and your senses become sharper. These physical changes increase your strength and stamina, speed your reaction time, and enhance your focus—preparing you to either fight or flee from the danger at hand. At the same time, the body functions not needed for fight or flight—such as the digestive and immune systems—stop working and the repair or growth of body tissues slows. Once the danger has passed, your nervous system then calms the body, slowing heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and winding back down to its normal balance.
Ideally, we’d respond to stress most of the time using social engagement or, when alone, using sensory quick stress relief techniques. While mobilization or fight-or-flight can protect us from danger, the body does a poor job of distinguishing between threatening experiences and minor, daily stressors. If you’re stressed over an argument with a friend, traffic jams, or a mountain of bills, for example, the body can still react as if you’re facing life-or-death situation. When you repeatedly experience the fight-or-flight stress response in your daily life or, in cases of trauma or immobilization, never fully return to a normal balance after a stressful situation, it can take a toll on your wellbeing and cause serious health problems.
How do you respond to stress?
It’s important to learn… how to recognize when your stress levels are out of control. The most dangerous thing about stress is how easily it can creep up on you. You get used to it. It starts to feel familiar, even normal. You don’t notice how much it’s affecting you, even as it takes a heavy toll.
The signs and symptoms of stress overload can be almost anything. Stress affects the mind, body, and behavior in many ways, and everyone experiences stress differently. Not only can overwhelming stress lead to serious mental and physical health problems, it can also take a toll on your relationships at home, work, and school.
Stress doesn’t always look stressful
Internally, we all respond to the fight-or-flight stress response the same: blood pressure rises, the heart pumps faster, and muscles constrict. When stressed, our bodies work hard and drain our immune system. Externally, however, people tend to respond to stress in different ways:
In “fight” mode you may appear overexcited. You tend to become angry, agitated, keyed up, overly emotional, or unable to sit still.
In “flight” mode you appear underexcited. You may pull away, space out, show very little energy or emotion, or become depressed.
Similarly, with the immobilization or frozen stress response, your external appearance may also be very different from what’s going on inside. On the surface, you look paralyzed but inside you’re extremely agitated and feel “stuck,” unable to do anything to help yourself.
Signs and symptoms of stress overload
The following table lists some of the common warning signs and symptoms of stress. The more signs and symptoms you notice in yourself, the closer you may be to stress overload.

Keep in mind that the signs and symptoms of stress can also be caused by other psychological or medical problems. If you’re experiencing any of the warning signs of stress, it’s important to see a doctor for a full evaluation. Your doctor can help you determine whether or not your symptoms are stress-related.
How much stress is too much?
Because of the widespread damage stress can cause, it’s important to know your own limit. But just how much stress is “too much” differs from person to person. We’re all different. Some people are able to roll with the punches, while others seem to crumble in the face of far smaller obstacles or frustrations. Some people even seem to thrive on the excitement and challenge of a high-stress lifestyle.
Your ability to tolerate stress depends on many factors, including the quality of your relationships, your general outlook on life, your emotional intelligence, and genetics.
Things that influence your stress tolerance level
Your support network – A strong network of supportive friends and family members can be an enormous buffer against life’s stressors. On the flip side, the more lonely and isolated you are, the greater your vulnerability to stress.
Your sense of control – It may be easier to take stress in your stride if you have confidence in yourself and your ability to influence events and persevere through challenges. If you feel like things are out of your control, you’re likely to have less tolerance for stress.
Your attitude and outlook – Optimistic people are often more stress-hardy. They tend to embrace challenges, have a strong sense of humor, and accept that change is a part of life.
Your ability to deal with your emotions – You’re extremely vulnerable to stress if you don’t know how to calm and soothe yourself when you’re feeling sad, angry, or overwhelmed by a situation. The ability to bring your emotions into balance helps you bounce back from adversity and is a skill that can be learned at any age.
Your knowledge and preparation – The more you know about a stressful situation, including how long it will last and what to expect, the easier it is to cope. For example, if you go into surgery with a realistic picture of what to expect post-op, a painful recovery will be less traumatic than if you were expecting to bounce back immediately. My primary doctor offered a traditional medical treatment which is to cut poison and burn which is surgery, chemo and radiation.
The woman shows what they believed was the less invasive option with few side effects. To them, chemotherapy and radiation were like grenades inside your body indiscriminately wiping out the good cells along with the bad.
Hyperthermia is a treatment of cancer using heat.
Machines like this deliver heat through ultrasound or microwave directly to the tumor for about an hour. Then the patient undergoes little doze radiation treatments for about 30 minutes, five times a week for about three months.
Hyperthermia doubles the effectiveness of radiation.
Hyperthermia is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and is being offered at Duke University, UC San Francisco and Saint Louis University. Dr. Bicher says, 80% of his early stage patients have survived at least five years after treatment. But other cancer experts like Oncologist Kristi Funk doubts the effectiveness of hyperthermia.

Breast Cancer Treatments – Alternative Cancer Treatments
My name is Leslie Fluegel. I am writing this testimonial to say thank you to GOD and all my family and friends that prayed with me and for me during my journey with breast cancer. I wanted to share GOD’S miracle of healing and encourage others to investigate alternative medicine.
In October 2006 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. November 2006 I had a bi-lateral mastectomy with reconstruction and removal of all my lymph nodes under my right arm. I was told I had stage 4 breast cancer since it had moved into all my lymph nodes. I was also advised to have 16 traditional chemotherapy treatments and 36 rounds of radiation covering from under my chin, to the bottom of my rib cage, and under my right arm. So I had triple negative breast cancer the rarest and deadliest form. I was told I had 6 months to live.
I prayed for an answer and GOD led me to one with the help of my wonderful children, Ashley Castillo and Chad Fluegel. They begged me to go to Burr Ridge for a consultation with Dr. Steven Ayre at Contemporary Medicine. My children knew of Dr. Steven Ayre because he had successfully treated a lady in their congregation fighting cancer. I was so impressed with Dr. Ayer and his staff. They took me in their arms and treated me like family. They treat everyone this way. Their number one goal is to help heal. I did 12 IPT treatments (Insulin Potentiation Therapy) from January 2007 through March 9, 2007. I learned about healthy nutrition, vitamins, and the balance of Mind-Body-Spirit during my treatments with Dr Ayre.
I was cancer free after my last IPT treatment on March 9, 2007 and stayed that way until January 2011. During one of my 6 month check-ups at Contemporary Medicine with Dr. Ather Malik we found a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck. Dr. Ather Malik did blood work to check tumor markers with the six month prior blood work and ordered a biopsy of the lymph node of the right side of my neck. In February 2011 I was told that my biopsy results were positive. My breast cancer had metastasized in my lymph nodes on the right side of my neck. A PET-SCAN revealed that the cancer tentacles had wrapped around my jugular vein and were going down my arm. I was told… I did not have long to live and that I also needed surgery to remove all lymph nodes from my neck and also remove my jugular vein. Once again faced with such sad news I knew that I must stay the same course of action that I had such success with before. I by then also called Contemporary Medicine and Dr. Ather Malik saw me the next day.
Dr Ather Malik sat and explained the course of action we would do. He spent time and answered all my questions I was to have 6 IPT treatments (Insulin Potentiation Therapy) and then take a two week break and run blood test and check tumor markers. My last IPT treatment was March 11, 2011. On March 25, 2011 I got the results of my blood test. My tumor markers were lower and in the low/normal range. Dr. Ather Malik was pleased but wanted another biopsy of the neck area. I agreed to have a PET-SCAN and CT scan from my eyes to my thighs and extra scans of my neck. If there were any signs of cancer I would do the biopsy.
On March 19, 2011 I went to visit herbalist, Rueben Schwartz in Hestand, Kentucky. He suggested herbal treatments. He wrote out a regimen of herbs for me to take three times a day. I applied a wet cloth soaked in herbs to my neck area where the tumor started every day for 30 minutes. I soaked in a bath tub of warm water with 1 ½ cups of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide daily for 20 minutes. I was able to do this for four weeks before my PET-SCAN and CT-scan on April 21, 2011. My PET-SCAN and CT-scan results showed NO CANCER anywhere in my body. This is nothing short of a miracle. There was NO cancer and I did not have surgery to remove all lymph nodes and jugular vein.
My journey with breast cancer has taught me so many wonderful things about life, love, hope, faith, and alternative wellness care in the 21st century. I have learned to heal Mind-Body-Spirit with the help of Dr. Steven Ayre, Dr. Ather Malik, and the Amish Herbalist Rueben Schwartz. I am a 51 year old female from Pittsburgh, PA. I have a husband and 4 children, 3 children are by my first husband who died in 1998 of a heart attack. In may 2011 I was experiencing extreme swelling of my face and my upper chest and arms. As my veins… would also bulge when I would wake up in morning. As it looked like someone beat me up… then as the day went on… the swelling would go down a bit. On May 19, 2011 I went to ER … as I had the swelling and was getting dizzy spells, within a matter of no time at all…. they had found the tumor on my right lung.
They called what I had superior vena cava syndrome, meaning the tumor wrapped around my vena cava cutting off the blood supply to my face and upper body. On May 21st they did a biopsy which was positive. I went through 36 radiation treatments and they started me on chemo (Taxil) and as soon as they hooked me up to Taxil. I went into a severe allergic reaction and paramedics had to be called, so they stopped the chemo and I continued with radiation and after radiation they started me on Alimta every 3 weeks, sometimes 4 weeks when blood counts were low.
From August 2011 thru May 2012 I was on chemo and Ii was a mess. I lost 75 lbs, had no energy and was in bed all day, nauseated and miserable. The only good thing is I never lost my hair. I was at the point, however, I could no longer take care of housework, nor make dinner for the kids. I finally said enough is enough. The doctors did a scan in May 2012 and showed my cancer went to stage 4 ….as it also spread in the lung. They told me at that point I had maybe only six weeks to six months to live. In June 2012, I was admitted to hospital for severe dehydration and the day before I went in. My sister had overheard a conversation about someone taking graviola to cure their cancer.
So we immediately got the supply as I figured I had nothing to lose. So I packed some capsules of graviola in a baggy and took them with me to the hospital. And everyday, I would take a capsule. Once released from hospital: I was starting to get my energy back and little by little things started to improve. My scan in December 2012, also showed my cancer had stopped spreading and was contained to the areas in the may 2012 scan.
In December 2014, I started having severe back pain (which I had during this whole time but it got worse.) So they did a MRI of lumbar which showed a spot, but the doctor was confused. As it looks like scar tissue from an old tumor, as it looks like my tumor in the lung shrivelled up into scar tissue. Also I had a pet scan in December 2014 …..which showed absolutely no signs of cancer. In January of this year I found out from Ken in the Solitarius group that drinking aloe vera juice can get shrink tumors, so I started taking 2 oz a day. It also helped relieve stomach issues that I had with the chemo damage.
I received my scan results on June 11, 2015 which showed the tumor is now a pile of scar tissue and I feel the aloe vera juice assisted with that result. People always ask me if I changed my diet or if I am doing anything special and the answer is no. I’m not perfect by any means and my diet is not as good as it should be. Also during this entire time I do continue to smoke. I know that is not a good thing but it is the one thing I have not been able to change. By sharing this story I am hoping my story can help others.
I am not claiming that graviola will work for everyone’s cancer but I can say what it did for me. I order mine online at Puritan Pride, that is most affordable place I found. I get 100 pills with shipping for around $10. I get the brand NOW and get 500 mg. I did start out taking 3 capsules a day for the first two weeks, then went to 2 capsules a day for 4 weeks and then went down to one capsule per day. If you google graviola there is a lot of cautions about side effects, however, I can say in the 3 years that I have been taking it I have never experienced any side effects.
My next steps that I am currently working on is 1) the doctors when i first got diagnosed started me on all kind of pain pills for the pain, that was my biggest mistake was letting them put me on them And unfortunately from the pain pills it has caused additional pain. As i now have an ileus in my small intestine. So I scheduled an appt. with a naturopath for August 21st to get suggestions to get off the narcotics and go all natural for the pain.
In the meantime until that appt, a friend in the Solitarius group recommended Zaflamend, which I ordered and received yesterday. I only took two capsules yesterday so I will give it several days to see if it helps at all. The other thing I ordered was serrapeptase, as it was suggested to me by this group. To me, cancer fighting needs to be a lifelong comittment, its much more than the protocol we choose to fight it with. Its about what we eat, how we exercise, how we relieve the stress in our life. I try to explain to people, when they ask about the graviola I take. As one person said to me, well I took my graviola today…. I feel great it must be working. That is not how these protocols work, they are not a quick fix. Cancer fighting takes more than taking a few capsules, it takes a total mindset that I am going to do whatever it takes to win this battle.
I continuously make changes every day, every single day is about learning and doing what is best for our bodies. Yes I have been blessed to be cancer free for 3 years, but I still am not as healthy as I would love to be, and everyday is a new challenge and a new learning experience. However, its one that I have committed myself to and its not something I can do for a few weeks and then just go back to the way it was and think everything will be okay. The ones that concern me are those that message me and say I’ve taken the graviola for 5 days now, is that enough? They feel that we can have a quick fix and it all go away. But we need to create the mindset: that cancer didn’t come over night and we can’t cure it over the short term. I have been cancer free for 3 years but I will never quit the fight. I am in it to win it and the long haul.
Yes I was fortunate to find the protocol that worked for my cancer but there is so much more to it, one being my attitude, I am extremely determined to beat this. I research cancer daily. I think kidneys need to be addressed first, as the GI tract eliminates through lymphatic as well, if kidneys aren’t filtering, your whole lymph will be backed up. You should have sediment when you pee in a jar. Use herbs to support them, then adrenal, then clear the GI. I made the mistake of liver cleansing without kidney cleansing, and always have had a bad week of trying to detox after. Move the lymph, you move everything else out 🙂

Exercise of the lymphatic system is probably one of the most important outcomes of a good physical regimen and one that we scarcely think about.
