how they’ll do it: Fauci: Delta Variant Accounts for 20% of
New Coronavirus Cases in U.S. (msn.com)

The highly transmissible Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus is spreading so rapidly in the U.S. that it could become the dominant strain in the next two to three weeks, researchers said, adding urgency to the nationwide vaccination drive.

The Delta strain, which first emerged in India in late 2020 and is also known as B.1.617.2, will probably make up 50% of Covid-19 infections in the U.S. by early to mid-July, said William Lee, vice president of science at population genomics company Helix and an author of the new analysis.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data on Tuesday showing that the prevalence of the Delta strain more than doubled over the two weeks ending June 19 to 20.6% of positive Covid-19 test samples genetically sequenced, compared with 9.9% in the week ending June 5th.

“The Delta variant is currently the greatest threat in the U.S. to our attempt to eliminate Covid-19,” Anthony Fauci, President Biden’s chief medical adviser, said at a briefing on Tuesday.

Delta now accounts for nearly half of Covid-19 cases in some Midwest
and mountain states, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said at the briefing.
Dr. Walensky said last week that she expected Delta to become the dominant strain in the U.S.

Delta is competing to displace the current dominant strain in the U.S. with another variant, Gamma, which is also causing a growing number of Covid-19 cases, though it is spreading more slowly, the study found.

Public-health officials say the Delta variant is particularly risky to people
who are unvaccinated. Delta is about 50% more transmissible than the
current dominant U.S. strain, called Alpha, they say, which itself is 50%
more transmissible than the most commonly circulating strain last year.

The Delta variant has also been associated with more severe disease,
Dr. Fauci said. Full vaccination against Covid-19 appears to offer significant protection against the Delta variant, according to data from Public Health England.

That protection may not last permanently, Dr. Walensky said. “This variant represents a set of mutations that could lead to future mutations that evade our vaccines, and that’s why it’s more important than ever to get vaccinated now, to stop the chain of infections, the chain of mutations that could lead to a more dangerous variant,” she said.

The Delta variant has spread to some 70 countries, including the U.K.,
where it now makes up more than 87% of Covid-19 cases, according to Gisaid, an international genetic sequencing database. Its rapid spread led Prime Minister Boris Johnson to recently postpone a planned lifting of public-health restrictions.

In the U.S., Helix’s study found that the Delta Variant of Coronavirus Seen Spreading in Undervaccinated US Counties while the Gamma variant was spreading more quickly in counties with higher vaccination rates. Delta is unlikely to become as dominant in the U.S. as it has in the U.K. because
public health policies and vaccination rates differ by state in the U.S.,
the Helix scientists reported.

Helix, of San Mateo, Calif., is working with the CDC to genetically sequence positive Covid-19 test samples collected from retail pharmacies across the U.S. After the prevalence of the Alpha strain peaked in late April, the company examined variants that were displacing it.

The Gamma variant, which spread widely in Brazil, made up at least 16% of U.S. cases between June 9 and 15, according to the study, while Delta made
up 14% of cases that week. Delta is spreading faster than Gamma, Dr. Lee said. He said he expected prevalence of the Delta variant to plateau in the U.S. at about 70% to 80% of Covid-19 cases.

“A lot of that will depend on how successful our vaccination campaign continues to be,” he said. Some 45% of the U.S. population has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, according to the CDC, and 53% have received
at least one dose. Mr. Biden had aimed for 70% of adults in the U.S. to have received at least one dose by July 4th.

While that target has been met among older Americans, 18- to 26-year-olds aren’t showing up for vaccination in as large of numbers as hoped, said Jeffrey Zients, the White House Covid-19 response coordinator. He said that poses a danger because many people around the world who have been sickened by the Delta variant are young people.

The Covid-19 test samples Helix analyzed come from across the nation,
but are concentrated in certain states. Of 243,769 positive test samples collected between Jan. 1 and June 15 and analyzed for the study, a quarter
were from Florida, Helix said. Other states heavily represented were California, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and Michigan.

Only about 20,000 of the positive test samples have been collected and analyzed since April, due to lowercase numbers and positive tests as more people have been vaccinated.
They are going to keep up with this forever, you really would have to be a fucking moron at this point not to see it. Only issue here is that if these sickos aren’t stopped, we WILL be seeing something much worse come out of the lab sooner rather than later.

Time to SHUT IT ALL DOWN. How that’s done, I have no idea at this point.
A scared society is a dependent society. Let me guess, we are all going to die unless we get 3 more shots, wear several masks, and we can’t leave our houses unless given governmental permission (you all laugh, but I bet that last one is coming). And all the people that don’t work get more checks.

Death rate from variant COVID virus six times higher for vaccinated than unvaccinated, UK health data show. Hospitalizations are higher among thousands of fully vaccinated individuals who test positive for the Delta
COVID ‘variant of concern.’ Yes it’s more contagious, BUT results in FAR FEWER hospitalizations or serious outcomes.

Biggest problem is who is now in charge of our country. We thought we
were locked down before. Sept/Oct I think we will be in for a rude awakening. Death rate from variant COVID virus six times higher for vaccinated than unvaccinated, UK health data show | News | LifeSite (lifesitenews.com)

Alpha was of course the first. We skipped the Beta. Gamma is not far behind then. They are taking advantage of a mostly science illiterate community and bullying them. I hope other scientists like myself have to push back. Since he is “science” manifested in human form, why doesn’t the Doc settle all the issues about how many genders there are, how transgender athletes can compete in whatever event classification they want, etc…?

Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson of VibrantDoc.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your career?

“We have to change the fact that mental health is still missing from most healthcare programs” ~ Dr. Stacie Stephenson of VibrantDoc

Dr. Stacie Stephenson: “It takes a long time!” (thriveglobal.com)
Going into private practice was eye-opening. I thought my life and work in practice would be pretty simple. I would be a doctor and help people. But I quickly realized two things. One, that opening a practice is a business. That part I loved because I have an entrepreneurial spirit. But the second was much harder to manage: I had no idea how challenging it would be to practice natural treatment in an environment inhospitable to natural treatment.  My thriving practice filled with patients who sought out natural treatment because their other doctors weren’t helping them was a threat to the health care industrial complex, even in the tiny Midwest town where I started.

I have always had a vision of what clinical practice should be, and how we should care for patients as unique individuals, and in a truly service-centric way, but to do that in reality involves a lot of bucking the system. I realized that doctors don’t just treat patients. Insurance companies have power over the practice of treatment and patient treatment decisions. The state has the power to take away your license and your livelihood if you don’t follow their sometimes arbitrary rules, which are heavily influenced by profit-driven industries. A small or even a medium-sized healthcare business can be attacked on grounds that really have nothing to do with patient health and safety, or what the right thing for the patient — is a patient’s choice to make — truly is.
I think most patients think doctors are working in their best interest, and that is what we would like to be doing, but doctors are forced to act out of fear for their licenses and fear of insurance companies. Doctors have to think out of one side of their brain about how to give a patient the best care, while out of the other side of their brain, they have to think about how not to get in trouble with lawyers for the state, how not to lose their licenses, how not to lose their incomes (which are necessary to pay back debts from years of education) —
all that is swirling around in a doctor’s head all the time.

Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson Presents at Gateway For Cancer Research
In my practice, I always chose the patient but that is a rebel mentality.
It shouldn’t be, but it is. That is something I continued to learn even after
I left a private practice and became the Chair, Functional Medicine | CTCA (cancercenter.com)
Chair of Functional treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. CTCA has a patient-first model, which is why that transition was an easy one for me. This is why they found me in the first place — we had a similar natural propensity for how health care should be practiced. CTCA believes the patient is always first and always right. They uphold those standards but it’s difficult in the current medical and legal environment. No matter how you practice patient-centric care, you have to fight that battle.

And again
Dr. Stacie Stephenson, Chair, Functional Medicine | CTCA (cancercenter.com),
this is one of the main reasons why I started VibrantDoc. I want to educate people directly about how to become as healthy as possible, so they never end up at the mercy of this medical model, having to rely on doctors who have their hands tied.

Can you share a story about the biggest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

Just to put a point on my last answer, my mistake was exiting my training thinking I was entering the health profession to help people, and not understanding (at first) that the system doesn’t always allow us the freedom to do that in the ways we would like. The system doesn’t want to let go of a purely conventional, industrial model. It’s not a health care system at all. It’s really a sick-care system. I had this mistaken, glowing, optimistic idea of what it meant to be of service and it was a hard lesson to learn, that I was not free to enact that in the way I thought was best for my patients.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?

Wow, there are so many people that would qualify for this answer.
I have been unusually fortunate, or just plain lucky, to have been able to interface in a direct and personal way with many of the brightest and most influential luminaries in the world of integrative treatment in this country. Every few years throughout my career, I made a collegial acquaintance that deeply mentored me in an area of treatment, and it was always by chance.

Often they could have taken notice of any one of thousands of students,
but they took notice of me, for some reason. I took this beautiful winding
path through Traditional Chinese treatment (TCM), functional treatment, naturopathic treatment, nutrition, and I have been able to interact in a meaningful way with the movers and shakers in this realm.
To name just a few, while learning acupuncture, I met and formed a friendship with one of the most honored acupuncturists in China, Dr. Jing Liu, who  has a practice in the U.S. Dr. Liu was named “The Master of Masters” by Dr. Shi Xue Min, the “Father of Acupuncture,” and she is my personal advisor both for my own health practices and for Traditional Chinese treatment information in my book.
In medical school,  I met Dr. Jeffrey Bland, the “father of functional treatment, and as one among hundreds of other medical students, he was willing to mentor me, ushering me into the world of functional treatment in a way that helped me really connect with that method of patient care and the people who practice it.

Later, I became friends with Dr. Joe Pizzorno, who founded Bastyr University, which was the first accredited naturopathic medical school in the United States, and we remain personal friends to this day. He took an interest in my career and showed me that integrative treatment has the potential to become a major player in the healthcare world. He helps keep alive in me the hope that what was once fringe will someday become the default for care.
I’ve interacted with leading thinkers in the world of chelation therapy, and have funded cancer functional treatment trials through Gateway for Cancer Research, which has given me the opportunity to meet renowned researchers who are blazing trails in the field of integrative cancer care. When you get involved with these projects in cutting-edge fields, you get to work closely with the brilliant minds who are actually operating on that edge and changing the course of integrative treatment.

Finally, I have to mention my husband, Richard J. Stephenson.
He is, simply put, a giant in the world of holistic cancer care.
He founded the Cancer Treatment Centers of America after his mother lost her battle with cancer because he wanted to provide care for other cancer patients that his mother was not able to receive.
He fought the battle that allowed medical facilities to advertise, so people could be aware that they had options.
He helped make acupuncture legal in the state of Illinois, where CTCA began, and has been involved in other legislative movements to improve the state of health care. When CTCA recruited me, we met for the first time, and the rest is history!
Meeting mentors and guides continues to happen to me, perhaps because I am never settled in what I know. I am always growing and developing and asking questions, and this has resulted in a steady trickle of mentors appearing just when I needed them.

Ok perfect. Now let’s jump to our main focus. When it comes to health and wellness, how is the work you are doing helping to make a bigger impact in the world?

My hope is that VibrantDoc and my forthcoming book will be how I am able
to make the biggest impact I’ve had so far. Through VibrantDoc, I continually offer guidance and direction related to all I know about prevention and health optimization, or as I like to put it, living a vibrant life. VibrantDoc has a presence on most major social media platforms, and I also post weekly blogs on my website and publish articles in health-centric publications whenever I get the chance. Knowing what it means to get sick and not get the help you need,
I want to empower people to take their health into their own hands. There is a lot people can do on their own to insure that they stay as healthy as possible, and that is by far the best scenario.

iN MY BOOK: Your Vibrant Self Care Book: A Guide to Wellness | VibrantDoc
I take people through a program of health renovation, bringing vitality and vibrancy into the body in a way that radiates and glows from within, and teaches people how to listen to the wisdom of their own bodies, I talk about what the stakes are and why it’s so important to nurture and strengthen health rather than leaving health up to chance.
This is how we build a healthy and vibrant future world. If people aren’t healthy, society cannot be healthy. My hope is that I can reach far more people through VibrantDoc and the book than I ever could in private practice, and I can speak the truth without fear of retribution, in a mode that does not involve government interference or insurance company dictates, but instead puts the power of health back into the hands of the individual.

Can you share your top five “lifestyle tweaks” that you believe
will help support people’s journey towards better wellbeing?

Please give an example or story for each.
To get the whole program for remaking lifestyle for health and well-being,
I hope you will look for my book next spring, and I’m always bringing you the latest tweaks based on what’s happening in the world on my blog, but one of my favorite things to recommend to people who are looking for a way to dip their toe into health empowerment is my Desert Island Supplement protocol.
If I was stuck on a desert island and I could have only five supplements, these are the ones I would choose. They cover your nutritional bases in ways your diet probably doesn’t, so you can provide your body, including your brain, your immune system, and your detoxification system, with everything it needs to heal itself and thrive.

They are:
Vitamin C. This is far and away my favorite vitamin. I recommend it to everyone. It is instrumental in many different functions, including immunity, which of course everyone is thinking about right now. High-dose vitamin C has been a medical treatment in integrative settings for serious viral infections, and it could prevent you from succumbing to a viral infection.
I recommend taking 1,000 mg per day to start, divided between two or three doses throughout the day, since your body processes and eliminates this water-soluble vitamin quickly. Some people (myself included) take much higher doses. You can work up gradually to 3,000 to 5,000 mg per day for maximum support, depending on your tolerance for it, but even 1,000 mg per day will give your immune system support and help to reduce inflammation. Don’t go up too quickly or you could experience some gastrointestinal issues. When you increase gradually, you can gauge your personal vitamin C tolerance.
Vitamin D3. This is the second most critical supplement after vitamin C,
in my opinion, and many people are deficient. The official party line is that approximately 40% of Americans don’t get enough, but I believe this number
is actually much higher. A vitamin D deficiency according to conventional treatment is to have less than 20 ng/mL of vitamin D (a simple test can tell you your level). Some labs and doctors put the level as low as less than 12 ng/mL. Those of us trained in functional treatment believe that level should be much higher — at least 50 ng/mL, and optimally as high as 80 ng/mL.

Most people don’t have a level that high.
We make vitamin D when the sun hits our skin, but considering that most people spend most of their time inside and many live in climates where they can get outside in the sun only part of the year, it’s simply impossible to get enough. Sunscreen also inhibits vitamin D production, but the risk of skin cancer trumps the benefits of vitamin D production, especially since you can get it through supplementation.
Be sure to look for the bioavailable D3, instead of the poorly absorbed D2.
I recommend a daily dose of 1000 IU for every 50 pounds of bodyweight.
Vitamin B complex. The B vitamins perform many critical functions in the body, including energy, growth, digestion, organ support, and hormone production, but they all work together and can be taken together. The best absorbed B vitamins are methylated formulas. Look for one that contains all
8 essential B vitamins: thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6), biotin (B7), folate (B9) and cobalamin (B12). Follow dosage directions on the bottle (which, by the way, are generally formulated for someone who weighs about 150 pounds).
Magnesium with Calcium, aka Cal/Mag. These are the primary minerals I recommend. Magnesium is important for nervous system regulation, blood sugar and blood pressure regulation, and can help ease constipation (especially magnesium citrate). Magnesium can also ease anxiety and improve sleep quality (especially magnesium glycinate). Avoid the less well absorbed magnesium oxide. Women need 300 to 400 mg per day. Calcium is also important, especially if you are prone to osteoporosis, because it is necessary for building strong bones and teeth. Your muscles and nerves also utilize calcium. I recommend taking 1500 mg per day. Calcium citrate is better absorbed than calcium carbonate.
EPA and DHA (eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid)
are omega-3 fatty acids from supplements made from fish oil. EPA protects your heart and is anti-inflammatory, while DHA protects your brain and can help to fight off depression and reduce your risk of dementia. Both EPA and DHA also maintain the health of the cell membrane. Be sure to get a purified, mercury-free version. I recommend getting up to 4000 mg of combined EPA and DHA per day for maximum benefit.

If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount
of wellness to the most amount of people, what would that be?

I am starting a movement! The Vibrant movement. It is exactly what you say — my way of bringing the most wellness to the most people. We know that lifestyle determines health. You are what you eat. You thrive based on how much you move. You create happiness from health as well as from connecting with others. You benefit from understanding your own body, knowing how it works at least at a basic level, and learning to listen to its signals.
Your body is always talking to you, telling you what it needs, and telling you when you are doing something that is harmful or suppresses health and healing. The Vibrant movement is about learning to listen, to tune in to that voice within that tells you what you already know: Health is mostly up to you. Even if you have a genetic propensity for disease, something in your environment has to flip that genetic switch. You can keep those switches flipped off if you live a healthy life and take care of yourself, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Vibrant isn’t just about the obvious aspects of physical health. It is a truly holistic self-care program that looks at everything about your lifestyle and urges you to look more closely, too. Every decision you make can potentially influence how you feel and how well you thrive, or don’t. To be vibrant is to choose wisely what you will eat, whether you will exercise, how well you will love others, and how you build mental and physical resilience, organ reserve, and joyful life. What are your “5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me
Before I Started” and why?

There are so many things I wish I’d known before launching into writing a book. It’s hard! I never realized how much energy it would take. I think a lot of people have the idea of writing a book, but the dream is much different than the reality of sitting down every day and getting your mind in the right place and writing content that will actually inform and help people feel empowered to live a better, more vibrant life.
I wanted to go beyond the obvious advice and dig deeper, and that took quite a lot of mental endurance and complex thought. I’m sure I’m better for it, though! It has been great exercise for my brain.
It takes a long time! I imagined I could write a book in a few months and then it would be published, but working with publishers is complex and the writing, editorial process, production process, and distribution take a long time. That’s not even counting all the time it took me to formulate and reformulate what I wanted to say and participate in how I want the book to look. The deeper you go as you consider a complex subject, the more ideas evolve and new concepts rise to the surface.
Before you know it, what you are saying is much deeper and more involved than you thought it would be. It’s invigorating and mentally stimulating, and it’s definitely not something you do in a quick couple of months. It’s ultimately far more satisfying than I thought it would be. The relief and pride of finishing that first full draft is like nothing I’ve experienced before. I’m still involved in the editorial process now, and I can only imagine how it will feel when the book is actually on the shelves of bookstores! It’s very exciting.

Sustainability, veganism, mental health and environmental changes are big topics at the moment. Which one of these causes is dearest to you, and why?

Mental health is close to my heart because I believe it is that one missing piece from most healthcare programs, including holistic ones. Mental health is still in the closet, surrounded by shame and misunderstanding. I’m actually offended that we call it mental health, as if it is something apart from physical health. It’s a false dichotomy. You cannot separate them. They are a composite, and part of the Vibrant movement is to take a truly holistic view of mental health. By holistic, I mean WHOLE-istic, as in the whole person and everything that influences that person’s life, from internal biochemistry to external environment, from past experiences to present choices.
Mental health is organic and physical but it isn’t treated that way. When your body sends you signals about its own well-being, that includes emotional and mental signals, like joy and delight, or sadness and anxiety. Worry has a physical effect on the gastrointestinal system, and digestive problems have a physical effect on the brain. It’s all one, and I will continue to champion this approach until a mental health crisis is judged and treated in the same way
as a physical health crisis.

Thank you so much for doing this with us!
Readers would love to “get to know you…”
Can you share your “backstory” with us?

My pleasure! I’m always happy to talk to Thrive Global.
When I was younger, the career I thought I would have was as an Olympic figure skater. I started skating as a child and trained seriously for over a
decade throughout my teens and into my early college years. I thought I was invincible. I never imagined I would get injured, even though many athletes do. I didn’t think a serious injury could happen to me…until it did.
I had always eaten a healthful diet and was exceptionally fit from all the training and conditioning but I drove myself really hard and juggled a lot.
I wanted to know everything and do everything, so while I was training full-time to make it to the Olympics and have a career as a professional athlete,
I was also fascinated in the health aspects of athletics and wanted to become
a doctor. On top of all that, since I had to fund my education and skating.
I worked my way through all of it by learning how to flip homes with very little money.. I couldn’t afford contractors so I was literally painting and laying carpet and even doing some roofing myself.

I was so sure that I could be a full-time, high-performing pro athlete while earning money on real estate, go to the Olympics, get a gold medal, then go into private practice, maybe with my real estate ventures on the side. What I didn’t realize was that between training full time, and working full time, and going to school full time, demanding perfection from myself out of everything I did, my body was breaking down. There were signs, but I ignored them.
I thought my stringent diet and the fact that I was exercising (i.e., training for hours a day) were enough to keep me healthy through a heavy course load, all-night study sessions, and the hard manual labor that comes with renovating homes, but I wasn’t paying any attention to the effects of the chronic stress all these activities put on my body and mind.
I subscribed to the “I can sleep when I’m dead” philosophy, so when my body literally forced me to stop, I was floored (literally). What seemed sudden to me was likely a long time in coming, but it seemed to me like it all happened in one fell swoop — one minute I was on the ice, the next I was in the hospital.

That’s when I had to have a real heart-to-heart with myself. I realized that if something like this could happen, I would be crazy to pour all my hopes and dreams into a career as a professional athlete. I was risking my future, and there were so many things I still wanted to do! I felt like I had barely dodged
a bullet. What was I thinking? Professional athletics is a fine track for many people, but I was trying to do it as just one of many ambitious ventures, and
I realized I was going to have to make a choice because I was physically and mentally exhausted.
I finally had to admit that I couldn’t do it all. There weren’t enough hours
in the day and I’d run my energy tank down to empty. My resilience was shot. “Just” going to med school seemed like it would be a relief. However, this was a hard decision, and my recovery was also long, painful, and difficult. I became depressed, and began to suffer from recurring strep throat infections. I got rheumatic fever and mononucleosis. It was like my immune system had given up. And then there were the doctors.

At that time, I thought being a doctor sounded great.
I imagined going into sports treatment or something along those lines,
but as I interacted with doctors throughout my recovery, I became disillusioned. At first I thought they would be able to fix me up and get me back into my skates, but they just kept adding to my long list of diagnoses and prescribing more medications, and none of it seemed to help. I had an intuition that there was more to my problem than prescription medication could fix. What about my depression? Why was I getting all these infections? But I didn’t get answers to those questions. This galvanized my resolve to become a doctor — the best doctor! Being naturally competitive and ambitious, I decided I could do better than those doctors who weren’t helping me. If I could only do one thing, I would do it all the way.

After I graduated from college, I enrolled in medical school.
But medical school was another disappointment. I learned that the doctors who had treated me after my accident were doing exactly what they’d been trained to do. They diagnosed me based on my symptoms and prescribed the appropriate medications, but that wasn’t what I wanted to be doing. All my medical school classes were about sickness and what I really wanted to know was how to be healthy. How could I help others avoid the kind of injury and subsequent breakdown I had suffered?
I began searching. I tried many different tracks in the medical school model, seeking some sign that this or that specialty would finally answer my questions and feel right and true. Then one day, a group of my fellow medical students convinced me to go to a seminar with them. There, Dr. Jeffrey Bland was speaking about a new field he was developing called functional treatment.

I listened to his lecture with great interest. Here was something different.
Dr. Bland was talking about how to follow symptoms back to their root causes and focus treatment there, rather than patching up the end-stage symptoms of a primary system dysfunction. For the first time, what I was hearing about health and disease made perfect intuitive sense. I left that seminar with EPA/DHA supplements, glucosamine supplements, and a whole new attitude.
I changed course and began to study to become a functional treatment practitioner.
That day opened up a whole new world to me, and I wanted to know everything. In addition to functional treatment , I studied and got certified in many other integrative, holistic, and lifestyle treatment therapies, including nutrition, acupuncture, chiropractic treatment, anti-aging treatment, regenerative treatment, and more. If it was about how lifestyle and other natural health enhancements could support the body’s innate healing power,
I wanted in.
When I was fully qualified, I went into private practice, opening my own small clinic in the Midwest, in a community you would not think would be interested in holistic health. Nobody else in town was practicing anything like what I offered, and after I hung up my shingle, I waited nervously to see if anyone would come to me for help. That first phone call was so exciting, and after that, the phone never stopped ringing. The idea that people could be empowered to affect their own health through lifestyle and natural remedies was just as attractive to my patients as it was to me (even if other more traditional local doctors didn’t approve of my “fringe” methods), and I did everything I could to help them. I worked very hard for 14 years.

Eventually, I closed up my shop and joined the Cancer Treatment Centers of America as their Chair of Functional treatment, and more recently I have joined the board for the American Nutrition Association, and I am an ambassador for the American Heart Association and the Vice Chair of Gateway for Cancer Research. Playing a role in these national-level organizations has given me an opportunity to create change from the top down. But after a few years, I began to miss having the individual impact on patients I had when
I was in private practice. To meet those personal needs, I started a new enterprise called VibrantDoc, dedicated to educating, informing, and empowering anyone who wants to live a more vibrant life. It’s also why
I decided to write a book, which will be coming out next year.

I’m a Doctor and Here’s How to Stop Dementia.
Dr. Stacie J. Stephenson.

Developing Alzheimer’s is one of the worst fears for many people, but there is still a lot we don’t know about what causes dementia. We know there are risk factors, both genetic and environmental, but the question is:
Can we prevent it?
While we don’t have set-in-stone answers to these questions just yet, the thinking around dementia prevention has changed significantly in the last 15 years. Scientists used to think it couldn’t be prevented, but the evidence is mounting that many lifestyle factors really do contribute to whether someone gets Alzheimer’s, and that these can be much more influential than any genetic risk.
That’s good news for people who want to take their health into their own hands (and why wouldn’t you?). To keep your brain vibrant, healthy, quick, sharp, and young, these are five evidence-based strategies that could make a meaningful difference in whether or not you ever develop Alzheimer’s disease.

1. Eat Mediterranean
Fact: People who eat a Mediterranean diet regularly (rather than just dipping in and out of it) have lower dementia rates. Eating in this style generally includes eating seafood a few times per week, lots of fresh vegetables and fruit, and whole foods almost exclusively, with very low intake of red meat, sugar, refined grains, and dairy (excepting fermented dairy products like yogurt).
The Mediterranean diet also utilizes olive oil (not butter) as the primary fat, and may include one small glass of red wine a few times a week, up to daily (that part is not required unless you are already a drinker).

2. Do Cardio
Studies show that regular cardio reduces the risk of dementia, and in those with a genetic propensity (the apoe-4 gene), 30 to 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous cardio on most days could significantly reduce or even eliminate the elevated risk!

3. Keep Your Friends Close
Research has shown that those with close social connections, including family and supportive friends, lowers the risk of developing dementia. On the flip side, isolation and loneliness increase the risk.

4. Achieve Your “Normal BMI” Goal
Many people know they could stand to drop a few excess pounds, but here’s a good reason to get on that ASAP: People with a normal BMI have much lower dementia rates than people with obesity. Obesity is also a risk factor for diabetes, and people with diabetes have much higher Alzheimer’s rates.

5. Sleep More
We now know that during the deep stage of sleep, the glymphatic system
in the brain clears out waste, including the waste accumulated & damages the brains of people with Alzheimer’s. People are most likely to get the most deep sleep when they go to bed by 10 or 11 pm. Stay up past midnight and you may chronically short yourself of valuable, brain-cleaning deep sleep. So get out of that late-night habit. Wind down, turn off screens, and tuck in by 10, and you could save your brain. 10 foods you should never eat before bed.

6. Final Word From the Doctor
The bottom line: is that many aspects of your health, now and in your future, are completely under your control, so those are the ones to focus on. I can think of few things more important than caring for your brain, and you can start by working on these five lifestyle changes today. You could not only ward off Alzheimer’s in your future, but you are likely to notice major brain benefits, like quicker thinking, better memory, and better concentration, almost immediately.  This is what people in their 90s regret most!!!

Signs and Symptoms
It is normal for children to have trouble focusing and behaving at one
time or another. However, children with ADHD do not just grow out of
these behaviors. The symptoms continue, can be severe, and can cause difficulty at school, at home, or with friends.

A child with ADHD might:
daydreams a lot
forget or lose things a lot
squirm or fidget
talk too much
make careless mistakes or take unnecessary risks
have a hard time resisting temptation
have trouble taking turns
have difficulty getting along with others

ADHD affects millions of adults

ADHD is defined as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in children, teens,
and adults. Its core symptoms are inattention, impulsivity/hyperactivity.
In an adult with ADHD, symptoms of hyperactivity may be less obvious,
but difficulties with inattention, poor planning, and the impulsivity may
persist. These symptoms can appear at home, work or school, or social
settings. For a diagnosis of ADHD to be made, symptoms must be
present in two or more settings.

Example: loses tools, wallets, keys, paperwork, eyeglasses, and mobile phones.

Forgetful in daily activities:
Easily distracted by other things, including unrelated thoughts.
Example: forgets to run errands, return calls, pay bills, or keep appointments

Symptoms of Impulsivity and Hyperactivity
Symptoms must occur OFTEN:

Leaves seat when remaining seated is expected:
Fidgets with or taps hands and feet, or squirms in seat
Example: leaves their place in the office or other workplace
setting, or in other situations that require remaining seated.
Runs or climbs where it is inappropriate, or feels restless
(in adults, may be limited to feeling restless),

Acts as if “on the go” or “driven by a motor” :
Unable to participate in leisure activities quietly.
Example: is unable to be or uncomfortable being still for an
extended time, as in meetings or restaurants,

There are three different types of ADHD,
depending on which types of symptoms are strongest in the individual:

1. Predominantly Inattentive Presentation:
It is hard for the individual to organize or finish a task, to pay attention to details, or to follow instructions or conversations. The person is easily distracted or forgets details of daily routines.
2. Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Presentation:
The person fidgets and talks a lot. It is hard to sit still for long (e.g., for a meal or while doing homework). Smaller children may run, jump or climb constantly. The individual feels restless and has trouble with impulsivity. Someone who is impulsive may interrupt others a lot, grab things from people, or speak at inappropriate times. It is hard for the person to wait their turn or listen to directions. A person with impulsiveness may have more accidents and injuries than others.
3. Combined Presentation:
Symptoms of the above two types are equally present in the person.
Because symptoms can change over time, the presentation may change over time as well.

Causes of ADHD
Scientists are studying cause(s) and risk factors in an effort to find better ways to manage and reduce the chances of a person having ADHD. The cause(s) and risk factors for ADHD are unknown, but current research shows that genetics plays an important role.

Recent studies of twins link genes with ADHD.
In addition to genetics, scientists are studying other possible causes and risk factors including:

1. Brain injury
2. Exposure to environmental (e.g., lead)
during pregnancy or at a young age
3. Alcohol and tobacco use during pregnancy
4. Premature delivery
5. Low birth weight

Research does not support the popularly held views that ADHD is caused by eating too much sugar, watching too much television, parenting, or social and environmental factors such as poverty or family chaos. Of course, many things, including these, might make symptoms worse, especially in certain people. But the evidence is not strong enough to conclude that they are the main causes of ADHD.

Diagnosis
Deciding if a child has ADHD is a process with several steps.
There is no single test to diagnose ADHD, and many other problems, like anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and certain types of learning disabilities, can have similar symptoms. One step of the process involves having a medical exam, including hearing and vision tests, to rule out problems with symptoms like ADHD. Diagnosing ADHD usually includes a checklist for rating ADHD symptoms and taking a history of the child from parents, teachers, and sometimes, the child. Treatments

physician speaking to family
In most cases, ADHD is best treated with a combination of behavior therapy and medication. For preschool-aged children (4-5 years of age) with ADHD, behavior therapy, particularly training for parents, is recommended as the first line of treatment before medication is tried. What works best can depend on the child and family. Good treatment plans will include close monitoring, follow-ups, and making changes, if needed, along the way.

Managing Symptoms: Staying Healthy.
Being healthy is important for all children and can be especially important for children with ADHD. In addition to behavioral therapy and medication, having a healthy lifestyle can make it easier for your child to deal with ADHD symptoms.

Here are some healthy behaviors that may help:
1. Developing healthy eating habits such as eating plenty of fruit,
vegetables, and whole grains and choosing lean protein sources.
2. Participating in daily physical activity based on age.
3. Limiting the amount of daily screen time from TVs, computers,
phones, and other electronics.
4. Getting the recommended amount of sleep each night based on age.

ADHD in Adults
ADHD can last into adulthood. Some adults have ADHD but have never
been diagnosed. The symptoms can cause difficulty at work, at home, or with relationships. Symptoms may look different at older ages, hyperactivity may appear as extreme restlessness. Symptoms can become more severe when the demands of adulthood increase. Embracing the Summer Solstice

SUMMER SOLSTICE IS A MAGICAL TIME AND ONE OF MY FAVORITE TIMES OF THE YEAR 🙂

Magical Ways to Welcome the Summer Solstice 2021.
The numbers of lightning bugs will peak as the temperature warms up
with the peak of the season happening around the Summer Solstice of June 21.
“Warm, moist nights are what they like best,” she said. If you want to catch a firefly, she said you can put one in a jar with some grass and maybe a slice of fruit such as an apple.  They like moisture.  She said the insects should then be released where you find them so they can continue their journey looking for a mate.
When you see a flashing insect in your backyard, do you call it a firefly
or a lightning bug? And have you ever wondered if those names refer to two different insects?
Despite their unique names, lightning bugs and fireflies are actually
the exact same thing: a family of flying beetles that communicate through bioluminescent flashes. However, there is a reason for the differing terms—
and it all comes down to where you live.

Are fireflies different from lightning bugs?
Again, lightning bugs and fireflies are the exact same insect.
Adding another layer of confusion, they aren’t even flies at all—as members of the Lampyridae family, the bugs are technically winged beetles.

There are about 170 species of lightning bugs living in North America, according to Firefly Research and Conservation (FRC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the insects. Each species has unique color and
flash patterns, explains Akito Y. Kawahara, Ph.D., associate professor and curator at the Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida, with purposes ranging from mating to carnivorous feeding (more on that later).

Why do they have two different names?
The terms “firefly” and “lightning bug” are the result of distinct regional dialects—and the one you use might actually tell you more about yourself
than the insects.
Researchers from the University of Cambridge asked 10,000 Americans
from around the country this question: “What do you call the insect that flies around in the summer and has a rear section that glows in the dark?” The results showed pretty clear differences in certain parts of the United States.
Roughly 40% of respondents used both terms interchangeably, 30% said “firefly,” and the remaining 30% said “lightning bug.” “Firefly” was most popular in the western half of the country, while “lightning bug” dominated parts of the Midwest, the South, and the Mid-Atlantic. The terms were largely interchangeable around that region, including on the East Coast and in Texas. (Two people said they use the term “peenie wallie”—we can’t explain that one, either.)
Another researcher later found that using “lightning bug” is more common in parts of the country where lightning strikes are more frequent. So although there’s no difference in the bugs themselves, there is a difference between the way we talk in certain places.

Why do these bugs light up?
Looking out at a field of these glowing insects, it’s easy enough to think of
their flashes as just a pretty show—but the true purpose is far more complex. “What’s actually going on is quite amazing,” Kawahara explains. Their bioluminescence comes from a chemical reaction inside their bodies,
and the insects flash for two main reasons: mating and feeding.

Male and female fireflies both flash, but the guys are typically the more active ones. “The males are calling the females using their light flashes,” Kawahara says, trying to woo available ladies with the right pattern and intensity.
On the other end of the spectrum, lightning bug flashes can also be a bit grim. “Predatory females attract males of another species so they can eat them,” Kawahara notes, by tricking them into thinking that a female of their own species is interested in them. “The males don’t know that, and they try to
mate with the female, but they get eaten.”

Do yoga outside.
Start doing your Sun Salutations in the park during the morning hours. Welcome the positive vibes as you stretch and breathe out the energy from last season. An hour before sunset, start a sun ritual.
Dance under the sun with friends or solo. Offer the sun some love. Let the sun know that you feel alive and powerful in its presence.
Have a community cook off or donate food to a charitable organization in
your neighborhood. Connecting with your neighbors and community will set a positive tone for the next few months. Also, giving to those in need will help unify you with others.
Allow yourself to laugh. Summer is a light season that’s associated with fun. Embracing your inner child will allow you to feel as though you’re living your best life. Forget all your worries today and smile.

The best way to embrace the Solstice is to honor the sun. After all, it’s responsible for giving life and power to every living being on Earth.
While lighting bonfires is ideal, it’s not the most eco-conscious way to have fun during the Solstice. However, if you have ways to safely light a mini bonfire, then it’s ideal to sit in front of one with friends and family while embracing the sunny vibes with jovial cheer and libations. Discuss what you want to manifest and let go of in the upcoming days. Remember, this is a chance to start anew. Therefore, it’s important to make sure that you’re bringing in your truth.
Speak about your dreams. Let them be known to ensure they come true.
Summer Solstice occurs sometime between June 20th – 21st in the northern hemisphere. Solstice means the sun stands still and this is because as the sun reaches its highest point in the sky for the few days on and around Solstice the sun appears to stand still in the heavens. It is the longest day of the year, where the night is short and the light reigns. Just imagine how magical this must have been to ancient peoples who worshiped the sun as their God.

The Sun represents the divine masculine and is the giver of life.
Another name for the Summer Solstice is The Cusp of Magic because all the land is bathed in warmth and light and the earth is lush and full of worldly delights. Everyone loves the summertime. It’s a time to play and enjoy the warm season. We also get to enjoy seasonal fruits such as berries, fruit and other delicious treats from the earth. All these things are possible because of the sun and the other elements that generously give to us year after year.

The days are long, the sun is hot, the garden full, and nature buzzes with constant activity. It’s the Summer Solstice – symbolizing fulfillment, abundance, life, energy, and blessings. Often celebrated as Litha, or Midsummer, the Summer Solstice is one of the eight sabbaths on the pagan Wheel of the Year.

Why is Litha called the day of the longest light?
Though Litha marks the zenith of the Sun and the day of the longest light,
it is a day of sadness. From this day forward the Oak King/Sun King will begin to falter and weaken, for with birth comes death, the birth of the Holy King brings the death of the light half of the year and we begin to spiral into the darkness.
Litha marks the longest day of the year, where the sun is at its strongest, and nature fully alive and active. The promise of Imbolc (February 2nd) is finally fulfilled as we bask in long days, warmth, and plenty.

The themes to reflect on during Litha are:

Fulfillment
It’s a good time of year to check in with what makes us feel fulfilled.
Is your hard work paying off? Do you feel fulfilled? Are you enjoying the journey?
Summertime beckons for us to be present and enjoy life, so if something is preventing you from feeling fulfilled and joyful, it’s time to do a gut check
and make some course corrections.

Gratitude
We often associate gratitude – or thanksgiving – with the late summer and
autumn sabbats of Lughnasadh and Mabon.
However, the Summer Solstice is the perfect time to sit back and take in all of the lush beauty of summer – the flowers, the fragrant herbs growing in your garden, the sunlight glinting on the water – take it all in and be thankful for everything you have – no matter how small or insignificant it might be.

Another theme of Litha is joy and happiness.
Summer is often a joyful time, and while current events in the world,
or your present life circumstances might make it difficult to be joyful,
it is possible to find bits of joy and peace if you embrace the present moment.

What truly makes you happy? What brings you joy?
What are the most important things in your life?
Write these down and take time to truly appreciate them.

Better yet, give yourself permission to spend more time doing things you enjoy, and work toward balance between work and play.

Nurturing Our Dreams
Winter is a time for planning and intentions setting,
and we start putting things in motion during the spring.

The summer is a time to tend to and nurture what we want to grow in our lives.
It’s time to balance self-care and rejuvenating play time with the hard work and dedication that it takes to continue the work of fulfilling what we want to manifest in our lives.
Just as the farmer or gardener waters, prunes, and protects their crops,
so too must we protect, grow, and nurture our self-growth and positive, forward direction.

How to Embrace the Upcoming Solstice for a Successful Rest of 2021
BY KELSEY MALONEY

The next solstice is around the corner and for many, it serves as a reminder to realign purposes and offers a fresh start to the back half of 2021. The desire to harness this new wave of energy and channel it towards something productive is common amongst revelers and calls for festivities all over the world.

Although this time of year is widely known for being a powerful astronomical occasion, you don’t have to be an astrologist to honor the change of season and all it has to offer. In fact, this is a great time for everyone to either check in on existing intentions or welcome new ones to help manifest a successful rest of the year.
“The solstice is a culmination of our yearly cycle demarcating a time for
us to celebrate and release the last 6 months so that a new phase can begin,” says Rebecca Gordon, professional astrologer, author of Your Body and The Stars: The Zodiac As Your Wellness Guide, and founder of the 15-year-running My Path Astrology School.

Read on to learn more about the solstices,
plus tips on how you can welcome the new season in your own way.

What is the solstice?
There are two solstices that happen each year, one on June 20 or 21 and the other on December 21 or 22, marking the change in seasons. The upcoming solstice for the Northern hemisphere is the longest day of the year and the day the earth is closest to the sun, making the rise and setting of the sun appear to stop and reverse direction creating the longest day of sunlight.
This is known as the summer solstice. For the Southern hemisphere, where it’s the shortest day of the year, is known as the winter solstice.
Sounds exciting, right? Our ancestors agreed. Deriving from the Latin word, sol, meaning sun and stare, meaning to stand or stop, the solstice has long been a time of sacred celebration with an abundant history varying across cultures all over the world. The Greeks used the occurrence to mark the start of the new year, many Native American tribes commemorated the extra sunlight with sun dances, and the Mayans and Aztecs used the day to build so that the structures would perfectly align with the shadows of the two solstices, summer and winter, to name a few.
In modern culture, the rituals performed across the world on this day can simply serve as a symbol to reflect on our successes from the first half of the year, a reminder to put your health and wellness at the forefront, and a day
to recognize the fullness of life.

How you can celebrate the solstice
If you’ve never celebrated a solstice before, no fear! Whether it’s winter or summer where you are right now, there are plenty of easy ways to make the most of the day. From spending time in nature (if weather permits), to doing
a quick meditation, or setting new intentions and/or checking in on existing ones, are all great places to start.
Set intentions. Setting intentions is a form of self-care that is actinal, such as working meditation into your daily routine, moving your body for 20 minutes a day, or limiting screen time. By setting intentions you’re holding yourself accountable and taking action steps towards growing into your best self on your own terms. Whether your intention is fitness, mindfulness, or nutrition focused, Fitbit Premium can help by revealing patterns in your health metrics, offering hundreds of workouts and meditations, and more.
If you’d like to set intentions, Gordon advises that because “the solstice will occur 10 days after a solar eclipse, our lives will be in flux more than usual.
If you would like to begin anew and set intentions, first you must release what has been to create space in your life.”

Ways you can do this is by cleaning your home,
clearing your mind, and creating the room for realities to manifest.

Put your intentions on display. Write down your intentions then display them in a place you’ll see them every day. You can even set daily reminders on your phone to have them pop up at a certain time of day. This will remind you to stop and take a moment to say your intentions either out loud or in your head.
Meditate. Meditation is a great tool to use to reset focus, address stress levels, and keep your mind present. For the upcoming solstice, Gordon recommends the inner sun meditation, where you envision the sun in your solar plexus (center of chest) and see it’s light radiating in all directions surrounding you. “Remain in this radiance for 11 minutes and only focus on the breath and light emanating from your center,” she says. “This will help you to realign your light with the sun’s power and warmth.”
You can also use your Fitbit Sense to check your stress levels with the 2-minute EDA scan feature or use the Fitbit app to access a variety of mindfulness sessions!
Spend time in nature. Whether you’re in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, Gordon mentions that it’s best practice to commune with the sun even if it’s cloudy outside. “Go outside and witness the sun at its sacred pivot point,” she says. “Allow it to reflect back to you how you are also now pivoting in your own life. Know that this day is a point of transition and give gratitude.”

A Miracle Within You

The Importance of Your Brain’s Unique Neural Signatures 🙂

You’re unique and this uniqueness imprints its own “fingerprints” on your brain. Every thought, every experience, every sensation, and everything you’ve imagined leaves your own particular neurological signatures on your brain. We’ll look into this phenomenon in detail.
People are made up of cells, tissues, a beating heart, and outer skin. However, we’re also made of memories. What’s more, our experiences create the brain’s neural signatures, to such an extent that no two brains are exactly alike.

Each of us is unique and exceptional.
We could say that the real you isn’t only based on everything you’ve experienced.
It’s how you remember each of those experiences that makes you who you are. You live inside a self that’s shaped by memories, by everything you’ve felt, and also the way you interpret these things, and store them in your extensive memory banks.

This specific, complex, and transcendental process is what makes us all so different. Yes, it’s true that the organization and architecture of the brain is something that’s common to us all. However, in its depths, and, above all, in the way it’s organized and the connections it makes, it’s unique and draws its own neural signatures on every one of us.

An illuminated brain: Your unique neural signatures.
Despite the fact that neuroscience is increasingly giving us more answers
and information about how the brain works, we still have many questions.
So much so, that this organ is shrouded in nearly as many mysteries as the universe itself.
For example, we still don’t know how to repair or heal memory loss in an Alzheimer’s patient. We know what to do to heal a broken leg, but we don’t know how to fully recover the abilities of a patient with a severe head injury.

Neither do we know how to help heal a child with a severe autism spectrum disorder. We can only try to improve their quality of life and rehabilitate them to a certain extent. We still don’t know how to return their brain to complete normality. In spite of this, we continue to make progress.
There’s now a palpable hope that we may reach that goal in the future. Recently, the University of Rochester in New York took another step in
that journey to understand the enigmas inscribed on the human brain.
Thanks to their research, we now know that each one of us has our own neurological signature that defines much of who we really are.
The brain networks that make up your memories and sensations create your neurological signature
The research, led by Dr. Andrew James of the University of Rochester, was published in November 2020 in the scientific journal Nature Communications. Some of their conclusions were: Each person builds their own memories, using the brain regions that are specific to those processes. However, the brain creates networks, that is, different neural connections, based on the way we assimilate each memory.

For example, every experience and sensation is also filtered through our emotional world. Sometimes, these images or experiences from the past are covered by specific emotions in which colors and smells are also integrated.
All this creates its own distinctive neural signatures. In other words, each experience shapes brain organization networks that form a kind of imprint on the brain, almost like a fingerprint, or “brainprint” in this case.

And these “fingerprints” are unique to each individual.

The challenge of knowing how we each organize our memories.
One of the challenges neuroscience is currently facing is to get to know more about these “fingerprints”, these neural signatures of the brain. This is also where cognitive science comes in, which seeks to understand how we organize and manipulate those memories.

But how could all of this benefit us?
Through magnetic resonances, we can observe each person’s brain
activity when it comes to organizing memories. Being able to identify those “fingerprints” would allow us to obtain a neurological profile of each person,
a kind of brain ID card if you like. As we age, many of these “fingerprints” become blurred. Neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, act as an “eraser”, weakening, blurring, and eventually eliminating those neurological signatures.
Knowing how each patient’s brain is connected and organized would allow us, in the future, to develop drugs that would allow us to preserve those original architectures. On the other hand, the brain’s “fingerprints” can allow us to make faster diagnoses to identify everything from dementia to schizophrenia and even severe depression. Something like this will make it easier for us to create more effective and individualized therapies.

Neural signatures and the importance of creating new memories.
Memory isn’t a video camera that records and stores every event as a perfect frame. Memory is an active process involving the interaction of several factors, such as personality, state of mind, and life experiences. Each one of us does it our own way, and that models our brain on a daily basis.
Nothing is as decisive for psychological well-being as continuing to solidify
and affirm memories and to continue to experience them. In every experience, every conversation held, every book read, every trip enjoyed, and every new thing we learn, new “fingerprints” are created in the brain. These new “signatures”, or nerve connections, improve our brain’s architecture.

All of this produces cognitive reserve, mental agility, and the ability to preserve our true selves as we grow older. Experiencing and learning are synonymous with better living. Directing your life towards physical, and especially mental, activity, and remaining curious and eager to interact with your surroundings will go a long way towards guaranteeing happiness.

UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF CHIROPRACTIC

AUTHOR // John Minardi, D.C.

Why do so many women become pregnant under chiropractic care, when they were never able to become pregnant before? Why are so many women seeking out chiropractic care in pregnancy in preparation for safer, easier births? Why are so many birth care providers referring pregnant mothers to chiropractors? How is it that babies who cannot breastfeed or are experiencing symptoms of digestive distress undergo significant changes with feeding and digestion? What does the chiropractic adjustment do to restore normal physiology and improve function?

Chiropractors claim to have a direct influence on a person’s nervous system through the chiropractic adjustment. We further claim that people who remain subluxate (having a misalignment in the spine which causes a distortion in the communication of the nervous system) will have some form of neurological dysfunction. However, most people are not aware of the global health changes that can occur under chiropractic care, nor do they understand the complex neurological changes that occur with adjustments.

Many people who have been to a chiropractor understand chiropractic from the classic “nerve pressure” theory. In a nutshell, the theory implies that a bone, or some other structure, moves from its normal position and places pressure on a neighboring nerve. The pressure leads to the nerve not functioning properly, which can result in a host of problems. People under chiropractic care visualize this explanation and can easily understand it. However, if this is the only explanation we give them, they will understand only a very small piece of the power of the chiropractic adjustment.

We know that chiropractic adjustments in the upper cervical spine (upper neck) significantly decrease an individual’s hypertension. There is no peripheral nerve connection from the neck to the structure that controls blood pressure, so the nerve pressure theory cannot be the explanation, yet these changes still occur. I contend that the nerve pressure theory is a very small piece of what is taking place inside the body. In my opinion, the most powerful connection between a chiropractic adjustment and a person’s global health changes is the direct effect the adjustment has on the brain and central nervous system.

So how does a spinal subluxation affect the brain and nervous system?
The subluxation acts as both a physical stressor, due to the strain of the supporting structures connecting to that vertebra, and a chemical stressor,
due to accumulation of inflammation inside the joints. These physical and chemical stressors flood the brain with negative information from the body. The negative stress information is the neurological connection between the subluxation and the limbic system, which launches the stress response. The stress response activates two systems: The sympatho-adrenal system (SAS), and the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis (HPA).
The SAS activates the sympathetic nervous system, which in turn releases hormones into the circulation. Once these hormones reach the adrenal glands, the adrenal glands release adrenaline into the bloodstream.
Adrenaline supplies energy to the muscles and heart to prepare for the stress; however, it takes this energy from reproductive organs and the gastrointestinal tract. The HPA axis activates the area of the brain that releases additional hormones into circulation. Once these hormones reach the adrenal glands, the adrenals release cortisol. Cortisol supplies energy to the muscles, but it takes this energy from reproductive organs and the immune system.
This stress response is a normal response, provided the stressor is removed within a short period. However, when the stressor is not removed quickly, this chronic release of stress hormones negatively alters the immune, reproductive, and gastrointestinal systems, triggering a cascade of disease and illness.
By removing the stressor (the subluxation) via chiropractic adjustment, we help stop the chronic stress response and allow energy to be reallocated to the centers that promote growth, expansion, and health.

In a nutshell, each time a chiropractor adjusts someone’s spine, we replace
the negative information that is flooding the brain with positive information. This recalibrates the brain to help stop the release of chronic stress hormones and allows overall health and healing to occur. Every time a person receives a chiropractic adjustment, it positively affects the brain and nervous system.
This positive effect on the brain promotes a state of ease and well-being within the body. Even this is a small piece of the puzzle, but it gives us better insight on how chiropractic adjustments have a profound neurological effect on the central nervous system.

Understanding this neurological effect:
can help us better identify how an adjustment changes the body’s stress response patterns and restores a state of ease. This knowledge enhances our understanding of how a woman can become pregnant under chiropractic care when she was unable to do so in the past. It opens up an important dialogue about how pregnant women under regular chiropractic care may experience greater resilience to modern stressors and have easier pregnancies and births. It may also shed some light on how breastfeeding and digestion in infants improve under chiropractic care. As chiropractors, we do not claim to have a cure for infertility, colic, or any other ailment. What we do is assess and adjust spinal subluxations to help the brain and body adapt and heal. The adaptation and healing process is as unique to each person as their own brains are!

SHIFTING THE PARADIGM

At Shifting the Paradigm: Insight into the Germ Theory by Jeanne Ohm.
The essentials for a healthy terrain can be broken into several general premises: Nourishing the Terrain, Coordinating the Function and Trusting the Process.    At the School of Natural Healing, they teach that there are primarily two aspects of promoting health and vitality. These are Nourishing and Detoxing the body.   In combining these thoughts and more, there is what is termed the Triad of Health.

The Triad of Health

We create pain and suffering non stop unconsciously when we are doing this and that, thinking about this and that….
It may make a big difference if we know the 2 laws of pain… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9VaKisW5ng

1st   Law of  Pain = More Fear More Pain: we fear the pain of  disease, failure and insult loss or separation… so much so that we can’t control our emotions… Mindfulness isn’t controlling emotion. Mindfulness is Attending to our changing motions…

2nd  Law of  Pain = More Rejection, More Pain… we can’t help rejecting our pain. Welcoming pain goes against our instincts. Mindfulness doesn’t not go against our instincts. Mindfulness is caring about ourselves by attending to our instincts…
There are three critical components that affect our health, and each of these influence the others. Each of these also have modes of healing and specialists.  The three components are:  Biochemical, Structural, Mind & Emotion.

Biochemical
This side of our total health deals with many aspects which affect the chemistry of our body. These would include diet and nutrition, herbs, water, all drugs, drinks, vitamins, all supplements, shots, and anything that we consume into our body.
Practitioners that deal with this aspect of our health are many, including medical doctors, homeopaths, herbalists, naturopaths, pharmacists, and others.  Although this is a very important part of our health, it does not equal the whole.

Structural
The structural component of our body is very important. Muscular and skeletal restrictions fall into this category. The shape of our skull affects how well the cerebral fluid flows, which affects the function of our brain, which affects our entire body. Our spine being out of alignment can cause pain and illness and loss of nervous energy to parts of our body. Practitioners that help in this realm are mainly chiropractors, massage therapists and physical therapists.

Mind & Emotion
Often we fail to realize how much our mind and emotions affect our health. Some doctors claim that 80-90% of those hospitalized stem from emotional problems. Often after a traumatic event, we get sick or develop some physical illness. There are several healers that help with this part of our health including pastors, psychologists, counselors, and others.  Modalities that have been used are Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Emotional Stress Release (ESR), Brain-spotting (BSP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
All three aspects of the Triad of Health need to be addressed in order for total health to happen.

Brainspotting (BSP) herbs 4 you – Bing
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Since the founding of the germ theory of disease:

Scientists have offered a holistic perspective.
At long last, their efforts are taking hold.

I grew up in a household afraid of germs. When my sister was born, my father had all guests put on surgical masks to protect her. We all had our tonsils taken out “just because,” and antibiotics were considered a miracle discovered by science. My generation was the one first introduced to fast food—we really believed it was food! Our mothers were sold the idea that formula could be better than breast milk. So began the modern, manipulated, misdirected generation.

Fortunately, before I had my kids, I was introduced to chiropractic.
I discovered the body’s amazing intelligence and its innate ability to heal itself.
I learned about nourishment, a healthy attitude and a functional nervous system.
Among the many teachings of chiropractic’s founder, D.D. Palmer, and his son, B.J.,
I was most fascinated with B.J. ‘s comment,

“If the ‘germ theory of disease’ were correct,
there’d be no one living to believe it.”

Fortunately, my husband and I were able to live the “chiropractic lifestyle” with our kids. Years before the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended breastfeeding (yes, they finally did in the ’90s), we were strong advocates for it. Long before the allopathic healthcare system was recognizing the importance of nutrition, we as chiropractors were recommending and consuming good, wholesome, pesticide-free foods.

In 1951, again far ahead of the times, B.J. Palmer published a statement warning against the use of antibiotics. We knew that germs were not the cause of disease, and we cautioned against the overuse of antibiotics decades before USA Today headlined their dangers in the 1990s. We also let our kids play in the sunshine (without toxic sunscreen) and in the backyard dirt.

Decades before the study came out saying exposure to animals and dirt is healthier than living in antimicrobial households. We insisted that symptoms should not be suppressed with drugs, but rather allowed to run their course while addressing the cause (which is actually the path of healing, not disease). When we questioned the use of vaccines (a practice rooted in mainstream, germ-phobic theories), we were further scorned for our blasphemous perspective.

We met other practitioners—naturopaths, homeopaths, midwives, and herbalists, as well as parents who also understood these basic principles—and we rejoiced that there were others who were living from this logical but undermined paradigm. But we remained a marginalized group. Often ostracized, certainly ridiculed…and in some instances, violently opposed.

Understanding the Paradigm

The germ theory proposes that microorganisms are the overriding cause of many diseases.
It was initiated by Louis Pasteur in the 19th century when he examined humans and animals that showed signs of being sick and found that they had very high levels of bacteria and viruses compared to those who were  not sick. He then made the assumption that germs infect our body and cause sickness and disease. Pasteur, along with German physician Robert Koch, is considered one of the fathers of germ theory. The practice of allopathic, conventional medicine to this day is still based on this theory.

Less known is that several of Pasteur’s contemporaries refuted his idea that germs cause disease. Claude Bernard (1813-1878) a colleague and physiologist     of that era, resolved that the health of the individual was determined by her internal environment. “The terrain is everything,” he wrote; “the germ is nothing.” Other scientists tested Bernard’s theory. Elie Metchnikoff, a Russian immunologist a generation younger than Bernard and Pasteur, suggested a synergistic interaction exists between bacteria and its host. He, too, claimed that germs were not the problem. To prove it, he consumed cultures containing millions of cholera bacteria; he lived to write about it, and didn’t even get sick.

His contemporary, French chemist and biologist Antoine Bechamp, believed that a healthy body would be immune to harmful bacteria, and only a weakened body could harbor harmful bacteria. His research contributed to this understanding when he discovered that there were living organisms in our bodies called macerozymes, which essentially form into healthy cells in the healthy body and morph into unhealthy cells when the terrain is less than ideal. The conclusion: Germs do not invade us, but rather are “grown” within us when there is diseased tissue to live on.

Rudolf Virchow, another 19th-century scientist (dubbed the Father of Pathology), wrote,
“If I could live my life over again, I would devote it to proving that germs seek their natural habitat—diseased tissue— rather than being the cause of diseased tissue; e.g., mosquitoes seek the stagnant water, but do not cause the pool to become stagnant.”  In this day and age, we have been taught that germs— bacteria and viruses—are bad, which ignores the vital functions they perform. They are designed to decompose dead and dying material.
Germs are our planet’s recyclers; without them, life on Earth couldn’t exist.

Out of the billions of bacteria and viruses we have in our bodies, most are considered “friendly germs.” Bacteria is essential for proper digestion and it scavenges dead cells in our body so they can be replaced by new, healthy cells. When our body tissues become weak due to poor health management, normal bacteria and viruses start to multiply and scavenge our unhealthy, dying cells. Our immune system responds as a survival mechanism and we develop the symptoms of being “sick,” but the germs are just doing their job.

The question then becomes, what creates sickness and illness?
Is it the germs or is it an unhealthy body?

Two Theories of Disease!!!

Germ Theory
1. Disease arises from microorganisms outside the body
2. Microorganisms are generally to be guarded against.
3. The function of microorganisms is constant.
4. The shapes and colors of microorganisms are constant.
5. Every disease is associated with a particular microorganism.
6. Microorganisms are primary causal agents.
7. Disease can “strike” anybody.
8. To prevent disease we have to “build defenses.”

Cellular Theory
.1. Disease arises from microorganisms within the cells of the body.
2. These intracellular microorganisms normally function to build and assist in the metabolic processes of the body.
3. The function of these organisms changes to assist in the catabolic (disintegration) processes of the host organism when that organism dies or is injured, which may be chemical as well as mechanical.
4. Microorganisms change their shapes and colors to reflect the medium upon which they feed.
5. Every disease is associated with a particular condition.
6. Microorganisms become “pathogenic” as the health of the host organism deteriorates. Hence, the condition of the host organism is the primary causal agent.
7. Disease is built by unhealthy conditions.
8. To prevent disease we have to create health.

Anti Antibiotic
In The Green Book,  published in 1951, B.J. Palmer cautioned against using antibiotics,  incorporating this analysis from French endocrinologist Jean Gautier.
“To begin with, a particular medicine will cure a number of illnesses, then little by little a certain number will elude it; next, those on which it has effect, demand larger and larger doses. This is the case with the sulfatides and the antibiotics so widely used today. These products are so ill adapted to our organism that a certain number of individuals become intolerant of some and ‘resist’ others.

Doctors cannot succeed in understanding why it is enough for one person to have been
more or less in contact with a sick person treated by antibiotics and then see these medicines become ineffective and even provoke a serious advancement of the disease. It is because modern medicine finds its therapeutic means more and more in the retorts of chemists that it cares so little about physiological and endocrinological phenomena.”

It has been said that on Pasteur’s deathbed, he admitted that Bernard was right and he, Pasteur, was wrong. Nonetheless, an era of antibiotic drugs, chemical pesticides and herbicides, vaccines, and antibacterial soaps has ensued, resulting in a germaphobe society and a pharmaceutical empire to lead the attack. But even worse, all of these weapons have interfered with the body’s natural microbiome and impaired our immunity.

Fast forward to June 2012, when the release of coordinated research from the Human Microbiome Project Consortium organized by the National Institutes of Health rocked the world. As The New York Times reported, “200 scientists at 80 institutions sequenced the genetic material of bacteria taken from 250 healthy people. They discovered more strains than they had ever imagined—as many as a thousand bacterial strains on each person. And each person’s collection of microbes was different from the next person’s. To the scientists’ surprise, they also found genetic signatures of disease causing bacteria lurking in everyone’s microbiome. But instead of making people ill, or even infectious, these disease-causing microbes simply live peacefully among their neighbors.”

Instead of the “one germ, one disease” theory that has dominated allopathic medicine
for centuries, these findings imply that there is an entire ecosystem of bacteria symbiotically at work in the body, a concept understood by holistic practitioners for centuries.
“This is a whole new way of looking at human biology and human disease,” says Dr. Phillip Tarr,  a researcher and professor of pediatrics at the Washington University School of Medicine. “It’s awe-inspiring and it offers incredible new opportunities.”

Do Germs Really Cause Disease? – Travis Eric..

The following quote by Ronald J. Glasser, M.D., sums up the health crossroads we now face. This former assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Minnesota writes, “It is the body that is the hero, not science, not antibiotics…not machines or new devices.” The task of the physician today is what it has always been, to help the body do what it has learned so well to do on its own during its unending struggle for survival—to heal itself. It is the body, not medicine, that is the hero.” As more doctors realize the self-evident principles of supporting the terrain, perhaps the allopathic model of killing the “bad” germs to fight disease may finally shift to improving the terrain to support the friendly bacteria.

The body, like all of nature, exists by maintaining a state of balance. It is dependent upon an environment that nourishes and nurtures with interconnectivity and cooperation between whole systems, and an underlying recognition of intelligence and a respect for the natural processes and order. Therefore, the essentials for a healthy terrain can be broken into several general premises: Nourishing the Terrain, Coordinating the Function, and Trusting the Process.

Nourishing the Terrain
When we think of nourishment, we naturally reflect on nutrition…the food necessary to establish a healthy terrain. After decades of propaganda leading us to believe that commercially produced “foods” are OK, we are coming to a rude awakening that we have deviated far from the natural, whole foods that truly nourish our bodies. Because this critical awareness is not upheld by all supporting systems in our society (agricultural, educational, economical, political, medical), only proactive individuals are making this difficult transition. We must be vigilant in selecting the foods we eat, how they are grown, how they are prepared, and their consequent ability to nourish our cells. We know the importance of organically grown vegetables and fruits. Finding the best sources and preparations for our families may not be as convenient as we would like, but is certainly worth the extra effort.

Coordinating the Function
The classic medical text Gray’s Anatomy tells us that the nervous system is the master control system of the body, determining the function of all systems, all functions, and all organs. Newer to science is the profound interconnectivity between the nervous system and immune system. Once thought of as separate, these systems are now considered intertwined. It is now widely accepted that a healthy immune system supports nervous system function, and vice versa.

This is very important for us to recognize if we want to create a healthy terrain.
The nervous and immune systems are interconnected in several known ways. Adrenal glands are one common link. Chemicals and hormones that are produced by cells of both systems are another connection. Additionally, research shows that the brain uses nerve cells to communicate directly with the immune system.

Chiropractic care was first linked to improved immunity during the deadly flu epidemic of 1917 and 1918, when chiropractic patients fared better than the general population.

This observation spurred a study of the field.
The data reported that flu victims under chiropractic care had an estimated .25 percent death rate, considerably less than the normal rate of 5 percent among flu victims who received no chiropractic care. In 1936, pioneering endocrinologist Hans Selye began groundbreaking research on the effects of stress on our health. B.J. Palmer tells us:

If the Germ Theory of Disease Were Correct,
There’d Be No One Living to Believe It
(howiechiropractic.com)

Selye’s great contribution to science was this clear concept, that disease affects people according to their previously developed ability to adapt. The writer goes on to relate that the physician prefers to hear that you have had childhood diseases rather than avoided them. He knows that a bout of harmless chickenpox while you were a child, will probably immunize you for life, but that if you contract it first as an adult, it could run a very serious course. This is somewhat of a reversal to medical thinking in years past.

This may seem strange, but the writer has this to say regarding antibiotics. “
A’lltoften, a patient will insist on a shot of glamorous penicillin or some newer antibiotic for a mild infection. The physician will explain that the drug is not necessary—that it is better for the body to use its own defenses—but the determined patient shops around until he finds someone who will administer it anyhow.”

“The frequent result is that, although the individual’s own natural resistance would have conquered the infection, the antibiotic suddenly robs the body of the germs necessary to stimulate the antibody producing mechanism into action. And, a stubborn chronic disease takes hold, against which antibiotics are now powerless.”

In chiropractic, we understand that nerve system function can be interfered with by subluxations which creates interferences to the normal transmission of nerve impulses. When this occurs, any and all systems are affected. Certainly immune system function, dependent on proper functioning of the nervous system, can be impaired as well.

Since then, additional studies have supported chiropractic care to improve immunity. One study found that disease-fighting white blood cell counts were higher just 15 minutes after spinal adjustments.  In a similar study, the immune system response in HIV-positive patients under regular care for six months showed a 48% increase in white blood cell counts. Conversely, the group that did not receive chiropractic adjustments experienced a 7.96 percent decrease in immunity cells. More research is certainly warranted.

Lack of Ease
D.D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, took the word disease and added a hyphen: Dis-ease is a non-entity, he explained, like dark and cold. Dark is the absence of light (the entity). Cold is the absence of heat (the entity). Dis-ease is the absence of ease—the entity, which can also be termed the reality—the achievable, the norm, the expected. Ah, feel it?
The emotional threat is discharged already.

Trusting the Process
You may eat a perfect diet of raw organic, biodynamically grown whole foods, drink purified water, jog five miles a day, and get adjusted weekly, but if you are overcome with negative emotions enhanced by adversarial thinking, you will not be healthy. Your immune system, via your nervous system, listens to your inner thoughts.

Holistic healing practices have always recognized the relationship between thoughts and health. In 1910, D.D. Palmer introduced the idea of the three T’s…
He explained that thoughts, traumas, and toxins could cause distress to the nervous system, impairing its ability to function.

The science of psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) studies the interaction between thoughts, t
heir effects on emotions, and the resulting immune system function via the nervous system. In 1985, research by neuro- pharmacologist Candace Pert showed that neuropeptide- specific receptors are present on the walls of cells in both the brain and the immune system. This revealed an interdependency between emotions and immunity via the central nervous system.

Why does Qigongheal the body – a concept based on Bruce Lipton…
Her work gave scientific credence to the ancient healing practices that have accepted the mind-body relationship. In her book Molecules of Emotion Pert writes, “We know that the immune system, like the central nervous system, has memory and the capacity to learn. Thus, it could be said that intelligence is located not only in the brain but also in cells that are distributed throughout the body, and that the traditional separation of mental processes, including emotions, from the body is no longer valid.”

That said, being conscious of our emotions is imperative in understanding health. For example, take fear, an underlying emotion that has an immense impact on health. In previous editorials and numerous additional articles throughout Pathways, we have looked at the stifling effects of fear on our well-being and normal, natural function. Fear propels us into the fight-or-flight mode— an override of our sympathetic nervous system.

In this defensive state, our bodies limit cellular reproduction and growth as the systems of protection are activated. To paraphrase Bruce Lipton, we cannot live in a state of imbalanced protection and growth at the same time. He maintains that the state of being that fosters growth is love, and that the protection mode is activated by fear. When we are in a state of unresolved fear, we cannot heal, regenerate or be well.

Exploring German New Medicine and the Cause of Disease:
Why does one person get sick while another does not? For centuries, the complex construct of an immune system provided an answer. Now, a new natural science called German New Medicine proves a different cause of disease. Foregoing statistical models, the new paradigm shows causality by the presence of concentric ring formations in the brain that initiate intelligent biological adaptations to organ functions. Each brain formation arises due to specific, emotional life stresses. A natural consequence of these organ adaptations is what we call “disease,” especially relating to the healing of the organ after the stress is over.
A brain CT scan can predict disease states with near-perfect accuracy thanks to this discovery.

A wise person once said that “fear” could be an acronym for “False Evidence Appearing Real.”  When we look at the germ theory and feel the underlying emotion it produces, we can clearly see it is fear-based. The terms used in the course of allopathic medicine reflect this fearful, warlike mentality. We have to kill the cancer, destroy the germ, fight the disease, be rescued in labor, struggle through breastfeeding—the list goes on, with a mental perspective whose constant is fear.

Ah…and here is the killer (pun intended): The solution to these “problems” cannot be accomplished by our own selves; we are dependent upon an outside entity (in this case, modern allopathic medicine) for salvation. For example: Germs are our enemy and our only solution to overcoming them is that hopefully, someday, somebody will find that magic potion that can “kill those germs.” Until then, it is hopeless. Responsibility for our own lives has been stripped, and this disempowered state of mind creates even more fearful emotions. Healing in this model becomes an emotionally charged, futile pursuit.

So, how do we break the cycle of fear?
Other than reading inspiring words of wisdom and surrounding ourselves with like-minded practitioners and friends, Pert advises us to get in touch with our bodies: “Your body is your subconscious mind and you can’t heal it by talking alone.” Bodywork, movement therapy, simple exercise, spinal adjustments, and massage can all release stuck emotions by clearing blockages to normal body function.

Ancient healing arts and modern holistic practitioners all recognize and support the mind-body connection in healing. Pert concludes, “…almost every other culture but ours recognizes the role played by some kind of emotional catharsis or energy release in healing.” Let’s be honest—the role of the mind in healing is not new, it has just been allopathically suppressed. Hippocrates (the Father of Medicine) made these statements centuries ago:

People are characterized by self-healing properties that come f
rom within and an innate healing force.

Humans are created to be healthy as long as they are whole: body, mind, and spirit.

Health and harmony is the normal state for all life.

Now, the accepted definitions of health are returning to Hippocrates’ way of thinking. Dorland’s Medical Dictionary defines it as “a state of optimal physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.” Pert agrees, “Last but definitely not least, health is much more than the absence of illness,” she writes. “Live in an unselfish way that promotes a state of spiritual bliss that truly helps to prevent illness.

Wellness is trusting in the ability and desire of your body-mind-spirit to heal and improve itself, if given half a chance.

Take responsibility for your own health— and illness.”
I am excited to see science catch up to the holistic paradigm, challenging fear-based theories and supporting the return of logical wisdom. The reason why most holistic practices did not accept the germ theory from its onset was because the major premise of their healing model recognizes there is an innate intelligence in living matter: There is order, synchronicity, and a respect for natural law. It is a shift in consciousness, toward understanding and adhering to these ritualistic principles, that will have the most profound effect on our individual selves, our families, and the future of humanity.

Nobel Laureate Luc Montagnier

Nobel Laureate Luc Montagnier – Warns Covid Vaccine May Lead to ‘Neurodegenerative Illness’ (Video)

Former Trump Official Slices Fauci Apart Over Hydroxychloroquine Fiasco by Matt Vespa (townhall.com)

The prominent virologist further disputed an online rumor likely meant
to distract from his viral observation first translated from French at RAIR Foundation USA that the coronavirus vaccine is the cause of the variants.
During a stunning interview, Nobel Prize winner Luc Montagnier expressed strong concerns about the coronavirus vaccine’s mid-term, long-term,
and even generational consequences.
Montagnier warned that “neurodegenerative illness” is a potential side effect
of the coronavirus vaccine and said in no uncertain terms that he is “outraged” about the widespread vaccination of children.
The prominent virologist further disputed an online rumor likely meant to distract from his viral observation, first translated from French at RAIR Foundation USA, that the coronavirus vaccine is the cause of the variants.
Prof. Montagnier clarified during the interview with Xavier Azalbert, a journalist with France Soir, that while the rumors about his vaccine observations are untrue, his criticism of the vaccine is very real.

Montagnier said in part:
We’re in unknown territory and proclaim mandatory vaccines for
everyone. It’s insanity. It’s vaccination insanity that I absolutely condemn.
He explained that he “is not looking for controversy, but for truth”.
Some of the points made in a clip of the interview translated exclusively for RAIR Foundation USA reveal that Prof. Montagnier is “outraged” that widespread vaccination of children could have horrific generational consequences.
He gives the example of the herbicide glyphosate, which can be passed onto future generations in a process known as “Transgenerational Epigenetic Inheritance.”
“Recent studies on glyphosate have shown that there are epigenetic effects,” Prof. Montagnier explained. “That means people who eat glyphosate in their diet pass on something that will affect future generations. Their children,
their grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, they will suffer,” he continued.

The Nobel Laureate explained that the “Messenger RNA”
May result in disastrous consequences without proper study. He said:
This Messenger RNA that’s being injected today in vaccines, may have effects on future generations that are undetected if we aren’t searching for them.
Another concern Montagnier expresses is the possibility of side effects of vaccines that could be seen in “five to ten years” related to “neurodegenerative illness.”
Neurodegenerative disease is “an umbrella term for a range of conditions which primarily affect the neurons in the human brain” and is described as “incurable and debilitating conditions that result in progressive degeneration and/or death of nerve cells.”
Montagnier states that there “are sequences that resemble the prion sequences in the RNA of the coronavirus” and could therefore “disorder the natural proteins in the brain, modifying them to make prions.”
A research article titled “RNA editing alterations define manifestation of prion diseases” explains that “Prion diseases are fatal neurodegenerative disorders characterized by rapidly progressive dementia.”

Watch: FACT CHECK: Did Nobel Laureate Luc Montagnier Say that the Vaccinated will Die in 2 Years?
Nobel Laureate Luc Montagnier – Warns Covid Vaccine May Lead to ‘Neurodegenerative Illness’ (Video) – RAIR (rairfoundation.com)

I am outraged by the fact that we want to vaccinate children, because then
we are really affecting a future generation. We need to know, for example,
take glyphosate, right? Recent studies on glyphosate have shown that there
are epigenetic effects. That means people who eat glyphosate in their diet,
pass on something that will affect future generations.
Their children, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they will suffer. At the moment, this has been only shown in rats. You could extrapolate this onto humans. There are epigenetic effects. We need to consider that and not just think of our own generation, but of the future.
This Messenger RNA that’s being injected today in vaccines, may have effects on future generations that are undetected if we aren’t searching for them. —
So it will persist, we’ll say, if we inject this substance, without really knowing the mid-term and long term consequences.
Absolutely. We’re in unknown territory and proclaim mandatory vaccines
for everyone. It’s insane. It’s vaccination insanity that I absolutely condemn.
I want to say as well, that I never, never said that everyone will die from the vaccine, but that a certain amount of people who take the vaccine will suffer from it. That’s impermissible.

They will suffer from side effects, to which there have been no observations,
or any data from previous studies because it’s still too soon to say.

Exactly. There could be side effects that affect future generations as well, maybe, but most probably from our generation in five to ten years. That’s absolutely possible. Notably, something we call neurodegenerative illness. There are sequences that resemble the prion sequences in the RNA of the coronavirus. These prions could disorder the natural proteins in the brain, modifying them to make prions.

The Blood Pressure Solution

Heart Smart Plan | Cancer Quick Facts (solitarius.org)

Finally, the truth is coming out…The Blood Pressure Solution;
Four of the best-selling blood pressure medications can cause serious bodily harm… and in some cases, death. Users are getting dizzy, fatigued, faint, and sick. And yet, these drugs do nothing to correct the underlying problem that causes hypertension. That’s why I want you to have the names of these potentially harmful drugs, and let me tell you…
they include some big ones like Lisinopril and Norvasc.

But I’m not going to stop there. I’m also going to show you a safe natural solution that doesn’t just treat hypertension but actually corrects it. Plus,
I’ll show you what really causes heart disease and its related hypertension.
It’s NOT what you’ve been led to believe, but the good news is it can be easily reversed.

HELLO, I’M DR. MARLENE MERRITT
I’ve helped hundreds of patients at my Wellness Clinic in Austin, Texas.
to not just get off these drugs but to resolve their hypertension once and for all. Thousands more have discovered my natural blood pressure solution online,
as you are today. In fact, before I get to the 4 worst drugs, I’d like you to hear from Dan Collins, a retired railway engineer, who despite taking four antihypertensive drugs, saw his blood pressure soar to a scary 200 over 100.

Most doctors would’ve told Dan to call 911.
Dan did something else — he prayed… and then found my natural blood pressure solution online. I’ll let him tell you what happened next…

I couldn’t believe it…In one week, I went from 200 over 100, to 110 over 71.
It was a wonderful feeling, but I didn’t tell my wife right away, and she screamed when she saw my meds in the trash. She feared I would have a stroke. But then I showed her the 110 over 71 on the monitor and she was all smiles. — Dan C. Shreveport, LA

Jonathan Miller took blood pressure medications for 20 years before discovering my blood pressure solution… I’ve never seen anything like (primallabs.com) !
This morning my blood pressure was 119/68 with a heart rate of 55. I had to stop taking my medications in a couple of days of starting the program because my blood pressure was too low. It’s a miracle. — Jonathan M. Tucson, AZ

I wanted you to hear these success stories, so you’d know there’s an effective natural solution waiting for you… But before I tell you all about it, let’s look at the 4 worst drugs. You may be taking one of them — or its generic — and are anxious to make a change.

The #1 Worst Blood Pressure drug is Lisinopril!
Also sold under the names Prinivil and Zestril.
Lisinopril racked up 406,180 complaints to the FDA in under 10 years.
It can cause nausea, vomiting, fainting, kidney failure, and even heart attacks — the very thing the drug is supposed to prevent. Lisinopril is an “ACE inhibitor.” Which means it blocks the enzyme that constricts your blood vessels as part of the natural regulation of your blood chemistry and pressure.

The problem is you’re interfering with an important natural process,
and doing so can have unintended consequences. When Lisinopril works too well, it can cause a rapid loss of blood pressure that makes you swoon with dizziness and even pass out. That’s because ACE inhibitors derive from the venom of the Brazilian Pit Viper, which causes a rapid loss of blood pressure, literally knocking its prey out.
If you pass out, you could fall and break a hip, or a knee… even fracture your skull. And that could land you in a rehab care facility. Some people never get out of those places. And even if you don’t feel weak or dizzy from Lisinopril, you could develop a bad cough… which may not clear up for months after stopping the drug.

That’s because these drugs don’t magically do their job and disappear.
Your kidneys have to break them down and eliminate their toxic byproducts.
Lisinopril makes a byproduct called “kinnins.”
And many people have trouble clearing kinnins. If they settle in your lungs,
the only way to expel them is to hack them up. Users have coughed so hard they’ve vomited, passed out, and even cracked ribs.
Is there a better solution? One that fixes the problem and ends the need for these body-harming drugs? Yes! Absolutely there is. I’ll show you that solution in one minute. You’ll be surprised to see how easy it is to do. But first, let’s briefly look at the…

#2 Worst Drug — Metoprolol Succinate!
It’s sold as “Toprol XL” and under various generic names.
Finally! The FDA is cracking down on this drug after thousands of patients
and doctors have flooded the agency with angry calls and letters over the following…

Most Complaints
They are for generic versions of this drug. And 90% of the forty
million Metoprolol prescriptions filled every year are generic.

Generic Drugs
They are commonly manufactured outside the U.S. –
India is one such place – and the oversight can be lax.

Tiny Changes
They can creep into the manufacturing process, or are deliberately made
to save money, and that’s where things can go wrong.

But even the brand can be a problem, too. You see, Toprol XL and its kin are “beta blockers”, a class of blood pressure drugs that inhibits your “fight or flight” hormone — adrenaline. While it’s true less adrenaline will bring your heart rate and blood pressure down, do you really want to mess around with this important hormone?

But inhibiting the natural adrenaline flow, you can’t be sure you’ll get enough when you really need it. For instance, to avoid a fall… or to quickly change lanes when driving… or to deal with a minor crisis at home or work.
And a drug like Toprol can zap your strength… make you feel like a zombie.

That’s why I want to show you how to actually resolve your hypertension,
not just treat it with these harsh drugs. In a minute, I’ll tell you about the dangers of Amlodipine and Chlorothiazide, also known as Norvasc and Diuril.
But first, let me ask… Do you really want to pile on the drugs?
Most doctors never take the drugs they prescribe.
Which is why they can be oblivious to the consequences.

They learn in medical school to prescribe this drug for that problem. And if that drug doesn’t work, they’ve been taught to try a different drug, or to add another drug or two. You’re like a guinea pig with these drug combinations until the doctor gets the numbers he wants.
Two drugs, three drugs, maybe even 4 or 5 drugs like Dan and Jonathan were taking.

And yet, hypertension is not caused by a lack of drugs.
There’s a reason you have it, and most likely that underlying problem can be corrected. That’s what I’m going to show you today – how to actually fix your blood pressure problem, so you can get off these drugs and feel good again.
I’m sure your doctor will be happy to see you off the drugs, if you can get your blood pressure down and keep it down.

And I’m confident you can with my natural Blood Pressure Solution.
And it’s very important… because hypertension is a silent killer… A ticking time bomb that could explode at any moment. Every day, it pounds away inside your arteries, putting ever increasing pressure on the calcified plaque that’s built up inside your arteries.

And make no mistake — most people have some arterial plaque, and in a moment, I’ll show you what actually causes it. I can tell you it’s not animal fat or cholesterol, as you’ve been falsely led to believe. But something else that’s very common… something you’ll want to stop right away… But first, I want you to know that your arteries don’t need to be fully clogged, or even half clogged. Just some plaque in your arteries can become unstable and dangerous.

You see, under constant pressure, a piece of unstable plaque can break off and race downstream… And if it lodges in one of the main arteries feeding your heart, it’ll trigger a massive heart attack. And, tragically, for many the first heart attack is the last one…
Because it kills. A chunk of plaque can also travel to one of your carotid arteries, blocking life-giving oxygen to your brain. That’s a stroke.

Many people never recover from a stroke. With brain damage, their lives are diminished… and even ruined. I want to make sure that never happens. So, let’s fix the problem. Just as I did for Joe W… who says…

My high blood pressure plummeted:
The program Dr. Merritt put me on resulted in a miracle. I was taking 4 Blood Pressure pills and am now down to 1/2 pill. Also cholesterol is down about 30 points with no statin drugs. — Joe W. Kansas City, MO

My goal is to get Joe off that last ½ pill. I’m confident we can. And that’s because my training is in natural medicine…I’m licensed as a doctor of both Oriental Medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners and the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I also have a Master’s degree in Nutrition. So, I know what your body needs for good health.

This is a very different approach than Western medicine, which puts the emphasis on drug therapy. And don’t get me wrong… I know some drugs are truly valuable, such as antibiotics that kill deadly infections, and emergency room drugs that save lives. But most drugs don’t cure anything. They just treat symptoms. And, to be honest, they’ve been designed that way to keep the profits rolling in.

Think about it… what’s better for drug company profits? A drug you take for two weeks, or one you take for life?

If you have hypertension, Western medicine says you have to take drugs for life. And that’s because the drugs never fix this problem; they just treat the ongoing symptoms. To me, that’s wrong. I say, “let’s fix the problem.” So, here’s my……

Natural Blood Pressure Solution
It’s as simple as doing a few things that will bring your blood pressure down, while stopping a few things that have been pushing your blood pressure up.
It’s really the combination of these two actions that makes it work so well. And I’ll show you several things in both categories in just a moment, so you can get started today.

Don’t worry about taking notes during my presentation.
I’ve put everything in today’s presentation in a book — The Blood Pressure Solution – and you can get a copy. My solution includes dozens of tips and techniques from the latest research from around the world, along with a simple program I’ve developed for my patients at the Merritt Wellness Clinic in Austin, Texas.

Thousands have been helped by it and it’s easy to do. Here’s just a sampling.
Why the American Heart Association HAS IT ALL WRONG ON SALT. You can enjoy salt again, as long as it’s the right kind (hint – not the one in the dark blue canister, nor any salt substitute)! A delicious beverage that, in a university study, lowered blood pressure by 12 points — as good as many drugs!

My tasty “Butter Shortcut” trick that simplifies what foods to eat (bacon passes this test with flying colors – but so-called “healthy Muesli flunk out cold). Why the DASH Diet is “Dead On Arrival.” It’s not just tasteless and impossible for most people to maintain… but can leave your body no choice but to pile on the fat!

A simple stress-lowering technique that sends your blood pressure plunging – it’s so easy you can do it even while waiting in traffic.

5 FAST exercises you can do at home without any equipment.
No grueling or tedious workouts. You get all the health benefits you need in just minutes per week. I’m also going to throw open the doors of “Mother Nature’s Pharmacy” …telling you about dozens of tasty foods and refreshing beverages that can help knock your pressure down fast.

For example… the Chinese “Dragon tea” – that showed stunning results on a group of men who smoked, drank too much, were overweight, and even ate junk food! When they drank this tea they had healthier blood pressure than anyone else in the study, including those who deprived themselves with tasteless diets!

And here’s something else you’ll appreciate…My Blood Pressure Solution doesn’t just help you get your numbers in check. You’ll be surprised to see the pounds melt away… so that you gain new energy and also get relief from stiff, aching joints. That’s because my recommendations work synergistically to promote good health throughout your body. In the process, the underlying problem causing your hypertension is vanquished!

That’s what Fernando, from Dallas, Texas discovered … Fernando is practically a “neighbor” to us, so when he dropped by our office to thank us for this great solution, we got him on tape… They don’t just help your blood pressure. They help your joints, they help your skin, they help your mood, they help your energy… improve your sleep. — Fernando G. Dallas, TX

I’m confident you can get great results like this, too. So, let me show you how to use the Blood Pressure Solution…

Do you really want to pile on the drugs?
One of my most popular recommendations for restoring healthy blood pressure is to eat plenty of fat… including both meat and dairy fat. Do you like cheese? Real Butter? How about a juicy steak?

All of these foods are healthy foods that won’t raise your blood pressure.
And when you eat real food with their full fats, you won’t gain weight. That’s because you’ll feel full and satisfied, not plagued by cravings. I do recommend, however, that you avoid foods labeled “low fat” or “heart healthy.” These foods typically have harmful ingredients that will actually raise your blood pressure.

That’s where the DASH diet goes wrong. It recommends low-fat foods. But as you’ll see in a moment, fat isn’t the problem — sugar is! And most low-fat foods have too much sugar.

Are you surprised? Most people are.
But the low-fat diet that was promoted by our government, the media, and most food manufacturers was not only DEAD WRONG, but downright DEADLY! Let me take a moment to show you what went wrong in our food supply. This might make you a little angry, but it explains why you have hypertension, and also how to fix it.

The problem started decades ago when the influential Dr. Ancel Keyes presented his thesis connecting dietary animal fat to heart disease. This was at the World Health Organization Conference in Geneva. Keyes had studied the diets of 22 countries but for his presentation — and to make his thesis stronger — he showed data from just 7 countries… really just six if you combine England and Wales.
Keyes showed that Japan and Italy had low animal fat consumption and low rates of heart disease. While Australia, Canada, England and the U.S. had high animal fat consumption and higher rates of heart disease. It was too easy. And nobody should have drawn conclusions. But Keyes’ 7-country study, which he put into a simplistic chart — raced around the world.
Keyes made the cover of TIME magazine.. and perhaps got the fame he wanted. But his theory that animal fat – and the cholesterol in it — causes heart disease was wrong. The really unfortunate part is that, rather than reducing heart disease, his ideas worsened it! That’s because… in 1977, a committee headed by U.S. Senator George McGovern — after holding hearings on our national diet — issued a set of dietary guidelines designed to reduce dietary animal fat and, hopefully, heart disease.

This caused a world of trouble. And if only we had known…
The dietary guidelines led food manufacturers to replace animal fats with processed vegetable fats. The labels on these foods say “low fat” and “heart healthy.” But they’re not healthy at all — just the opposite — they’re disease-makers!

Here’s why…
Animal fat is flavorful, while vegetable fat is not. So, to make up for the lost flavor, food manufacturers added refined sugars and salts, and also chemical flavor enhancers. But these ingredients trigger a chemical reaction in your body that causes inflammation and oxidation — the drivers of disease.
The unfortunate result was that this change in our food supply dramatically increased the rates of heart disease, hypertension, arthritis, diabetes, and even cancer and Alzheimer’s. Do you remember McDonald’s French fries from three or four decades ago? Sure. They were really tasty. And that’s because they were fried in beef tallow.
But because of the dietary guidelines to reduce animal fat, McDonald’s gradually phased out the beef tallow and replaced it with processed vegetable oil, which they’ve used since 1990. Okay, now stick with me… because this next part is pretty shocking… After Keyes wrongly named animal fat and cholesterol as the cause of heart disease, pharmaceutical companies developed cholesterol-lowering drugs…

… And then to sell them, they promoted the heck out of Keyes’ bogus theory. And even manipulated the results of statin drug studies to make them look effective, when they helped less than 1% of users. Unfortunately, the flawed cholesterol theory got into our medical schools, where drug companies hold great sway, and a whole generation of doctors learned it. And then these doctors became the teachers for the next generation.
You could call it a comedy of errors, except it was no laughing matter. Statin drugs can damage muscles, and even weaken your heart because they block an essential heart nutrient called Coenzyme Q-10.

Today we know better…
Enlightened doctors and medical scientists tell us animal fats and cholesterol are not the cause of heart disease, but rather refined vegetable fats and sugars are. Reports on this can be found in the following publications…
And, finally, our government caught up with the truth, when they stated in their 2015 Dietary Guidelines that “Cholesterol is not considered a nutrient of concern for overconsumption.”

That’s right. You can’t get too much cholesterol.
In fact, you need cholesterol for cellular health… for the proper functioning
of your neurotransmitters… for bone health… and to make bile for digestion. Several studies have shown that people who have low cholesterol die sooner than people with high cholesterol. And, recently, a new national study led by UCLA cardiology professor, Dr. Gregg Fonarow, found that 75% of heart attack victims had normal or optimal cholesterol Levels, according to accepted guidelines.

Okay. So… the problem is not cholesterol. And it’s not animal fat.
But what, then, causes the plaque called heart disease?

Again, the culprits are refined vegetable fats, sugars, salts and chemicals – all of which are in thousands of modern foods. You see, refined vegetable fats and sugars cause the oxidation of cholesterol particles, making them small, dense, and sticky. And when the cholesterol particles are small, dense and sticky, they can easily embed in the linings of your arteries…
That triggers an inflammatory immune response that starts the plaque-making process. Basically, your body is trying to heal tiny arterial wounds by making scabs. But a scab inside your arteries is a rough patch, which attracts more small dense cholesterol particles, triggering more inflammation. And the plaque builds up like a snowdrift.
The result is that your arteries narrow and your blood pressure rises.
You now have hypertension… and you’re at risk for heart attack and stroke.

But here’s the important thing to know…
It doesn’t really matter whether you have high or low cholesterol.
What matters is the health of your cholesterol particles. Are they large and buoyant, traveling smoothly through your arteries? Or are they oxidized,
small, dense and sticky? You need to prevent the latter. And you can prevent it…
I’ll show you how.
The sad part is that this mistake set in motion by Dr. Keyes… and then made worse by do-gooders in our government… led to more people getting arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s-Dementia than ever before. But since we can’t do anything about past mistakes, let’s move forward and solve the problem … naturally.

Here’s how to get your blood pressure down.
To prevent arterial inflammation, cell oxidation, and letting your cholesterol particles become small, dense, and sticky…Avoid foods with refined vegetable fats, sugars, salts and chemical flavor enhancers. Also avoid fast foods, especially those fried in processed vegetable oil, which is highly inflammatory and can start the disease-making process.
Instead, eat delicious foods like real butter, all kinds of fresh meats, and also whole-fat dairy products that are low in sugar. Eat nuts, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Go ahead and enjoy a steak, and CHEESE, and REAL BUTTER! You can also enjoy avocado, coconut, and olive oil. Blueberries and strawberries. Green and yellow vegetables, and nutrient-rich yams.

You can even put gobs of real butter on your yams, for a perfectly healthy treat.
I make all of this easy for you in my guidebook, The Blood Pressure Solution, which I’ll show you how to get in a moment. You’ll discover… Why you should never eat foods with trans fats, and how you can easily detect them on food labels. Common foods that seem okay but convert to sugar inside your body, thus increasing inflammation, blood pressure and the risk of heart disease!
The common cooking oils on supermarket shelves that can lead to disease,
and the alternatives that are healthy and safe!
The mineral that protects against hypertension, and which delicious nut
gives you plenty of it. The key mineral that nullifies the adverse effects of salt. Get ready to enjoy more salt, just make sure it’s the right kind –
not the one in the dark blue canister!

Why do you want to consume fresh fruits, but not fruit juices!
Plus, great sugar substitutes, the ones with no bitter aftertaste and even measure and bake just like sugar. You can even mix them half-and-half with sugar, to reduce the overall sugar in your diet. I’d also like you to receive another guide I’ve put together called 99 Foods That Lower Blood Pressure. This is especially easy to use.
Day by day, you’ll feel your blood pressure coming down and your energy level going up. So, why take drugs? I think you’ll soon see that you don’t need them. And no, I didn’t forget about the 3rd and 4th worst blood pressure drugs.

Let’s take a brief look at them now…

The #3 Worst Drug: Amlodipine, sold as “Norvasc”
…and also Tekamlo, Amturnide, Caduet, and Lotrel.
These drugs are notorious for causing headaches, hair loss, intestinal upset, and embarrassing – running for the toilet – with diarrhea.
Amlodipine can also hijack your emotions, maybe not at first,
as this is one of those insidious side effects that develops over time.
But it can cause depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.
Amlodipine is also notorious for causing painful swelling in the ankles and wrists, making it hard to wear shoes and do simple tasks. That’s because it’s a “calcium channel blocker” that lowers blood pressure by dampening the electrical signals to your muscles. Your blood vessels constrict less, so the pressure goes down… Right along with your motor skills and energy.
And then blood starts to pool around your ankles and wrists.

If you’ve been taking Amlodipine – or a drug that includes it in its formula —
you may have already stopped it because of these harsh side effects.

But what did your doctor give you in its place?
Another drug with more unwanted side effects? Maybe even…

The #4 Worst Drug: Chlorothiazide, sold as “Diuril”
And also Zester etic, Losartan and Valsartan.
Diuril can cause bad headaches, blurred vision, lightheadedness, and upset stomach. It also increases your risk of painful muscle cramping, paralysis, seizure, and slipping into a coma … In some cases, it can screw up your heart rhythm so badly your heart stops – dead! ure, that’s a worst-case scenario, but you never know when you might be “that worst case.”

Here’s the problem…
Diuril is a “diuretic” or what’s called a “water pill.” It flushes excess water and salt out of your system… And while less water in your body means less pressure in your arteries, there’s a risk… Diuretics also flush out vital nutrients, including electrolytes, which your body needs to keep your heart rhythm normal. Do you really want to mess around with this natural process?
I say, “Let’s fix the problem so you won’t need drugs.” Besides…

These natural foods can make drugs obsolete
Remember how Toprol and other Beta Blockers interfere with
adrenaline to lower your heart rate and blood pressure?

It turns out that a key nutrient in fish can naturally modulate adrenaline.
In fact, a study from The University of Pennsylvania found that taking this nutrient for just a few weeks lowered blood pressure. This study confirmed earlier research that showed the nutrient lowered heart rate, adrenaline, and also cortisol, the “stress hormone.”
And rather than popping a nutrient-depleting diuretic pill… Why not enjoy this refreshing tropical drink that acts as a natural diuretic but replenishes electrolytes and minerals?
And while calcium channel blockers like Amlodipine tamper with your heart’s electrical circuits to release the tension in blood vessels …You can accomplish the same thing by listening to a certain kind of relaxing music. And finally, even though Lisinopril and drugs like it force your blood vessels to dilate, there’s another way to relax your blood vessels — with delicious food.

This simple food floors high blood pressure.
Before this golden cake bakes, the batter is red from a key ingredient
that helps lower blood pressure – up to 12 points. That’s as much as many antihypertensive drugs.

What is it? Beet juice. And here’s why it works…
This baking ingredient, which can also be a healthy beverage is Beet juice.
It is chock-full of a nutrient called nitrates. Don’t confuse that with unhealthy nitrites, which are chemicals used to cure processed meats. In your body, nitrates are converted into a natural compound called Nitric Oxide. Nitric oxide was named the “Miracle Molecule” after 3 scientists won the Nobel Prize for discovering it relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.
That’s the reason our bodies make it. Unfortunately, our supply of Nitric Oxide slows to a trickle once we hit our forties. But when we eat nitrate-rich foods like beets and leafy green vegetables, we replenish it, and that helps lower blood pressure. Here’s proof…In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study at Queen Mary University of London, participants who drank a glass of beet juice daily lowered their blood pressure an average of 12 points.
Sounds good? My patients think so. And remember, these are just a few of the dozens of tips and techniques you’ll discover in The Blood Pressure Solution. I’ll show you how to get your very own copy in half a minute… but first I want you to know…

Together, we can fight and beat the “Silent Killer.”
The Blood Pressure Solution by Dr. Marlene Merritt is helping to defeat the “silent killer” every single day. Over 80,000 people have used it from all across the country, and with amazing results…Here’s what Betty H from Mims, Florida, says: Great Results! I have not taken any B/P meds in a month now, and my B/P [went] from 154/80 down to 118/68 …
I couldn’t be happier! This is an easy program to follow! — Betty H. Mims, FL
And Mark B. from Corona, California who achieved startling results in just 2 weeks — The program resulted in a miracle… My high blood pressure plummeted.
I was taking 4 Blood Pressure pills and am now down to 1/2 pill.
Also cholesterol is down about 30 points with no statin drugs.
Now, remember, I don’t advise that you stop your medications or get into a fight with your doctor on this…Very soon you can show your doctor great new numbers. And then he or she will probably reduce your medications, or even take you off the drugs entirely. That’s what Karen C. from Aldershot, Australia discovered. Karen wrote to us from “down under” and said…I have had a serious blood pressure drop! My doctor just halved my blood pressure medication, and he may cancel it if I keep up the good work.

Even medical professionals are discovering some things they never learned in school. Remember Jonathan Miller, who told you about his terrific results at the start…He has been a Registered Nurse for over three decades. And for the last 20 years, he was taking blood pressure medications. But since discovering The Blood Pressure Solution, he’s drug-free: It’s a miracle! This morning my blood pressure was 119/68 with a heart rate of 55. I had to stop taking my medications in a couple of days of starting the program, because my blood pressure was too low. I’ve never seen anything like this. — Jonathan M. Dallas, TX
All of these folks achieved amazing results – and pretty quickly, too, while at the same time shedding excess pounds…Remember Dan, the railway engineer? He not only saw his blood pressure go way down, but his weight, too, & losing 20 pounds without breaking a sweat…And Ed H. from Lynnwood, Washington, who lost 25 pounds:

It’s making a real difference in my life, and that of my family!
I’ve dropped from 210 [pounds] to 185, my blood pressure is now normal and my energy level has gotten better as well as a more positive outlook! Thanks so much for your continued support. — Ed H. Lynnwood, WA The stunning success of Dan, Ed, and Jonathan… and also of Mark, Karen and Betty happened for just two reasons…

First, they discovered the underlying problem causing their high blood pressure.
And second, they corrected that problem with The Blood Pressure Solution.
The happy result? No more hypertension. No more drugs.
No more awful side effects.
It’s been freeing for them, and it can be for you, too.

Surprise Your Doctor with New Low Numbers
Imagine what it will feel like to go relaxed and confident to your next doctor’s visit…and watch the blood pressure cuff as it’s wrapped around your arm…
…unafraid of what the numbers will show.
You’re sure to smile when your doctor takes your pressure a second time, then asks, “What have you been doing to get such great numbers?”

Okay, But Will It Work For You?
I’m confident it will, and most likely pretty fast, too. Of course, I can’t promise that. Everybody is different…But your body possesses the ability to heal itself… if you just give it the building blocks it needs for good health. My education, training, and experience with thousands of patients confirms this natural healing principle. And that’s really what The Blood Pressure Solution is all about…
Just doing the simple things your body wants, while stopping the things that are hurting it. This double action will correct the underlying problem that’s causing your hypertension, and then you’ll feel healthy and energetic again! I’ve shown you some of these things today… and I’ve explained why you likely developed hypertension in the first place. Now, it’s time to get all the details and get started.
Everything you need is in my book, The Blood Pressure Solution…

TRUMP was right about everything.

CNN ‘Surprised’ By Success of Hydroxychloroquine, Drug Originally Suggested by Trump.

Study finds hydroxychloroquine helped coronavirus patients survive better. – Bing images

By Maggie Fox, Andrea Kane, and Elizabeth Cohen, CNN 7/3/2020
A surprising new study found that the controversial antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine helped patients better survive in the hospital.

A team at Henry Ford Health System in Southeast Michigan said Thursday its study of 2,541 hospitalized patients found that those given hydroxychloroquine were much less likely to die.
Dr. Marcus Zervos, division head of infectious disease for Henry Ford Health System, said 26% of those not given hydroxychloroquine died, compared to 13% of those who got the drug. The team looked back at everyone treated in
the hospital system since the first patient in March.

“Overall crude mortality rates were 18.1% in the entire cohort, 13.5% in the hydroxychloroquine alone group, 20.1% among those receiving hydroxychloroquine plus azithromycin, 22.4% among the azithromycin alone group, and 26.4% for neither drug,” the team wrote in a report published in
the International Journal of Infectious Diseases.
It’s a surprising finding because several other studies have found no benefit from hydroxychloroquine, a drug originally developed to treat and prevent malaria. President Donald Trump touted the drug heavily, but later studies found not only did patients not do better if they got the drug, they were more likely to suffer cardiac side effects.

The US Food and Drug Administration withdrew its emergency use authorization for the drug earlier this month and trials around the world, including trials sponsored by the World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health, were halted.
“Our results do differ from some other studies,” Zervos told a news conference.
“What we think was important in ours … is that patients were treated early.
For hydroxychloroquine to have a benefit, it needs to begin before the patients begin to suffer some of the severe immune reactions that patients can have with Covid,” he added.

The Henry Ford team also monitored patients carefully for heart problems,
he said. “The combination of hydroxychloroquine plus azithromycin was reserved for selected patients with severe COVID-19 and with minimal cardiac risk factors,” the team wrote. The Henry Ford team said they believe their findings show hydroxychloroquine could be potentially useful as a treatment for coronavirus.
“It’s important to note that in the right settings, this potentially could be a lifesaver for patients,” Dr. Steven Kalkanis, CEO of the Henry Ford Medical Group, said at the news conference.

Kalkanis said that their findings do not necessarily contradict those of earlier studies. “We also want to make the point that just because our results differ from some others that may have been published, it doesn’t make those studies wrong or definitely a conflict. What it simply means is that by looking at the nuanced data of which patients actually benefited and when, we might be able to further unlock the code of how this disease works,” he said.
“Much more work needs to be done to elucidate what the final treatment plan should be for Covid-19,” Kalkanis added. “But we feel … that these are critically important results to add to the mix of how we move forward if there’s a second surge, and in relevant other parts of the world. Now we can help people combat this disease and to reduce the mortality rate.”

Zervos said hydroxychloroquine can help interfere with the virus directly and
also reduces inflammation. Researchers not involved with the study were critical. They noted that the Henry Ford team did not randomly treat patients but selected them for various treatments based on certain criteria.
“As the Henry Ford Health System became more experienced in treating patients with COVID-19, survival may have improved, regardless of the use of specific therapies,” Dr. Todd Lee of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Canada, and colleagues wrote in a commentary in the same journal.

“White House trade adviser Peter Navarro is leading a Trump administration effort to demand the FDA reverse course,” the Washington Post reported.
“A reversal (on hydroxychloroquine) would be widely seen as bending to the political will of the White House,” the Washington Post quoted Steven Joffe,
a medical ethicist at the University of Pennsylvania, as saying.
As the agency will take the lead in approving a vaccine for the coronavirus
in the country, “Health experts say it is important for the agency, which was criticized for its initial decision to okay hydroxychloroquine in March, to guard its credibility as it prepares to make these landmark decisions for a public sometimes skeptical of vaccines,” the report warned in The controversial study.

However, the new study, which Navarro is armed with and suggests hydroxychloroquine effective in treating COVID-19, has been widely criticized as flawed by scientists. Led by a research team from Henry Ford Health System in southeast Michigan, U.S., the study looked at 2,541 hospitalized COVID-19 patients between March 10 and May 2 and found that those who took hydroxychloroquine had a “significantly” lower mortality rate.
Dr. Todd Lee said the results of the Henry Ford study were relevant with the use of steroids, which was found effective in reducing the risk of death among severe COVID-19 cases.
The research also excluded 267 patients who had not been discharged from the hospital, which might make the drug “look better than it really was,” said Eli Rosenberg, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University at Albany.
Organizations like the World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health have also halted relevant trials of the drug, saying it produces little or no effectiveness to hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

“Finally, concomitant steroid use in patients receiving hydroxychloroquine
was more than double the non-treated group. This is relevant considering the recent RECOVERY trial that showed a mortality benefit with dexamethasone.” The steroid dexamethasone can reduce inflammation in seriously ill patients.

The Henry Ford team wrote 82% of their patients received hydroxychloroquine within the first 24 hours of admission, and 91% within the first 48 hours of admission. They wrote that in comparison, a study of patients at 25 New York hospitals started taking the drug “at any time during their hospitalization.”
But patients in that New York study, published in May in the Journal of the American Medical Association, started taking hydroxychloroquine on average one day after being hospitalized. “Maybe there’s a little bit of a difference, but it’s not like patients in New York were being started on day seven.

That’s not what happened,” said Eli Rosenberg, lead author of the New York study and an associate professor of epidemiology at the University at Albany School of Public Health.
Rosenberg also pointed out that the Detroit paper excluded 267 patients — nearly 10% of the study population — who had not yet been discharged from the hospital.
He said this might have skewed the results to make hydroxychloroquine look better than it really was. Those patients might have still been in the hospital because they were very sick, and if they died, excluding them from the study made hydroxychloroquine look like more of a lifesaver than it really was.

Both the Detroit and New York studies were observational: they looked back at how patients did when doctors prescribed hydroxychloroquine. While helpful, observational studies are not as valuable as controlled clinical trials. Considered the gold standard in medicine, patients in a clinical trial are randomly assigned to take either the drug or a placebo, which is a treatment that does nothing. Doctors then follow the patients to see how they fare.

Two clinical trials on hydroxychloroquine for Covid-19, one in the US and one in the UK, were stopped early because their data suggested hydroxychloroquine wasn’t helpful. The US trial, run by the National Institutes of Health, enrolled more than 470 patients. The UK trial, run by the University of Oxford, enrolled more than 11,000 patients.

“We have concluded that there is no beneficial effect of hydroxychloroquine in patients hospitalized with COVID-19,” the Oxford doctors concluded. But a White House official praised the Henry Ford team’s study.

Peter Navarro, the White House trade adviser, said the study shows hydroxychloroquine works if given early enough. “This is a big deal,” he told CNN. “This medicine can literally save tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds
of thousands of American lives and maybe millions of people worldwide.”

“Social distancing may have weakened children’s immune systems,”
experts say… “End of social distancing and mask-wearing could
leave children vulnerable to common bugs?”

Scientists are concerned that measures to combat Covid-19 have weakened
the immune systems of young children who have not been able to build up resistance to common bugs, leaving them vulnerable when mask-wearing and social distancing eventually end. Contact with viral pathogens happens on a fairly regular basis and although it does not always lead to sickness, the exposure helps shore the immune system against the threat should the bugs
be encountered again.

Over the past 14 months or so, protracted restrictions on mixing and travel, alongside mask-wearing and social distancing, have not only reduced the risk of Covid but other respiratory bugs such as the flu – cases of which were basically nonexistent last winter, according to surveillance data largely encompassing England compiled by the Royal College of GPs (RCGP).

However, virologists are concerned about RSV, a virus that can cause serious lung infections requiring hospital admission, and sometimes even death, in children under the age of one – and for which there are no approved vaccines.

“Flu worries me, but there is a vaccine – and so the most vulnerable will still have access to the vaccines,” said Dr. Catherine Moore, consultant clinical scientist for Public Health Wales. She warned that RSV currently has no vaccine. “Whereas what Covid has done has caused a big issue in our adult ICUs, we may see conversely problems in our pediatric hospitalizations and intensive care,” she said.

Pre-Covid, most children encountered most seasonal viruses before they turned 18 months old. But the biggest influx in pediatric hospital wards each winter are babies under the age of one who have for the first time been infected with RSV – because their lungs are not well developed, their bodies struggle to fight off the infection, explained Moore.

Scientists are worried that if life begins to go back to pre-Covid normality, respiratory viruses that typically circulate every winter will return alongside
the coronavirus. Moore said she was particularly worried about the risk of
RSV in young children. “We’ve got two cohorts now of children who’ve never met the virus, so they are susceptible, but there’s two years’ worth of them!”

Before the pandemic, data suggested more than 30,000 babies and children under five were admitted to hospital every year in the UK because of RSV. Assuming “normality” resumes later this year, “we are preparing for a significant impact in pediatrics”, said Moore. According to the RCGP, a few cases of RSV were detected last month, which is atypical given the virus normally circulates in the winter in the UK.

“Late May RSV is very unusual,” said Deenan Pillay, a professor of virology
at University College London and a member of the Independent Sage group.
It may be a reflection of more immunological susceptibility, the fact that some Covid restrictions have been relaxed, or indeed a change in the seasonal behavior of the virus in response to the persistent collective effort to address Covid, he said.

But there are many unknowns and it is hard to predict exactly what will happen in the winter with RSV and other pathogens, said William Irving, a professor of virology from the University of Nottingham. “We didn’t see the flu last winter so if it comes back this coming winter, it may be particularly nasty.”

However, there is a flu vaccine that could stave off a considerable chunk of disease, the scientists said, acknowledging that they are hoping the experience of Covid will enhance the uptake of the flu vaccine. “I would think that it would be a good idea to maybe combine a flu vaccine with a booster dose of the [Covid] vaccine,” said Irving. Efforts to develop a Covid-flu combination vaccine are already under way.

CDC announces that “social distancing may have weakened children’s immune systems…”

Clown faceClown faceClown face  No shit Sherlock…

Social distancing, masks, locked in homes no school will have done unrepairable damage to immune systems mental health and education for generations to come.
As More and more Covid info will be coming out, proving how absurd the handling of it has been… using all that hand sanitizer. Which they found that out in the seventies when everybody was doing that more people getting sick they’re killing all the germs that you need to build your immune system.
So does wearing a mask because of all the carbon dioxide exhaled, then inhaled again.
These geniuses are way behind the curve!!!
If only the human body had a way to learn how to fight off diseases. Well, no shit!
It’s like parents who keep their kids home because there is a family history of asthma.
Good GOD ALMIGHTY… YOU gotta build up an immune system.

It’s not good to screw with Mother Nature!

Virtue signaling at all levels needs to stop.

Virtue Signaling WILL Destroy The Environment  🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪

It has become popular to describe certain behavior as ‘virtue signaling’.
By this people mean, in the words of James Bartholomew (who helped to popularize the term, and who I like very much in every other respect),
writing or saying things ‘to indicate that they are virtuous’. As popular as it is, it’s a stupid term that misuses the concepts it invokes, it encourages lazy thinking, and it’s hypocritical.
The term signaling does not mean the same thing as ‘saying’ or ‘showing off’ when it is used by economists or biologists. Signaling means credibly giving information that is difficult to prove just by saying it. For example, banks used to have very grand buildings. Any bank could claim to be safe, but only a bank that had lots of money could afford a grand office.

Education is a classic example of signaling.
It’s difficult to show to a potential employer that you’re smart and hard working, but only smart and hard working people can get a good university degree (in theory). Good university degrees might be partially about signaling ability to potential employers.
That’s what signaling is. It’s a very useful concept. It means exactly the opposite of what virtue signaling means – it’s credible and honest. The whole point of virtue signaling is that it’s disingenuous and cheap. A better term would be ‘showing off’. How many times where the term virtue signaling has been used would ‘showing off’ not have just as accurately sufficed? It’s not exactly a novel concept.
For something to actually be virtue signaling, rather than just showing off, it would need some sort of sacrifice, like a sacrifice of knowledge by pretending some obvious falsehood is true.

The other problem with the term is that it assumes your opponents are disingenuous.
This is of course very common but it is probably the single worst thing about political debate. It comes from an underlying assumption that the world is straightforward and your views are obviously correct.
To many people it’s obvious that letting Syrian refugees in to Britain is a bad idea, because if even a few of them are terrorists we’re endangering our own people’s lives. The people who ignore this are most likely trying to show off how much they care and what good people they are – hence virtue signaling.
To many people it’s obvious that welfare cuts are cruel and unnecessary, and indeed hold back the recovery by taking money out of the economy. If you support those cuts you’re putting ideology ahead of real people, and that makes you a heartless scumbag.
But it’s possible to disagree honestly and sincerely about complicated questions with lots of different moving parts. In a world as complex as libertarians say, it would be astonishing if the truth was obvious about almost any contentious policy issue. Disagreeing with me and being a bit right-on does not mean you are disingenuous. Voting Labor while not spending your life doing volunteer work doesn’t either, nor does being a libertarian but not signing up to join an anarcho-capitalist sea stead.

Giving money to wasteful charities might count as virtue signaling,
but only if you know that the charities are wasteful. I suspect most virtue signaling accusers assume that it’s obvious that groups like Fairtrade are wasteful or harmful. In fact it probably doesn’t even cross most people’s minds that that might be the case.
Accusing others of virtue signaling encourages you to not interrogate your
own beliefs. If you think people only disagree with you because they’re trying to show off how nice they are to their mates, why would you even consider that what’s obvious to you might actually be wrong? As well as being rude and stupid, virtue signaling gives people another mental shortcut to dogmatism.
Finally, saying virtue signaling is hypocritical. It’s often used to try to show that the accuser is above virtue signaling and that their own arguments really are sincere. Of course, this is really just another example of virtue signaling!Dismissing other people’s false beliefs as virtue signaling means you won’t consider them properly and means they have every right to do the same to your beliefs, which as far as they’re concerned are also obviously false. Sometimes beliefs are honestly, sincerely held, however stupid they seem to you, and if there’s any value to debate at all it requires that we at least consider the possibility that we might be the stupid ones.
At best, virtue signalling is a pretentious way of saying ‘showing off’.
At worst, it is mental armour against self-doubt. People should stop saying it.

Alina Chan, a top virus and virologist at the Silver lab at the Harvard School of Medicine admits ‘Lying to American Public’ for months on likely Wuhan Lab Leak Theory because they didn’t want to be associated with President Trump. HCQ was no secret. Fauci, in league with the CDC, quashed it to promote the pandemic scare for the purpose of easily corrupted mail-in voting.

He killed hundreds of thousands to achieve his leftist agenda.
In 1947 Germany he’d be on the gallows. Fauci is also heavily invested in vaccine manufacturers and they couldn’t get emergency use authorization to sell their vaccines if a treatment existed, so he stood to make a LOT of money by denying the efficacy of HCQ, in addition to making the orange man look bad.

In part. It was more about big $$ bucks. An effective treatment would have prevented the EUA which in turn would have meant no fat profits for Fauci & his drug pals. The CDC has been exaggerating flu deaths for decades to push the flu vax. Nothing new here.

TAKING NOTHING FOR GRANTED

After bouts with COVID-19 and breast cancer,
actor RITA WILSON now has a new lease on life.
  about (ritawilson.com)

In March of 2020, RITA WILSON and her husband, Tom Hanks, announced they’d tested positive for COVID-19, making them among the first celebrities to go public with the diagnosis. Their decision to come forward was heroic in its own way, given the fear associated with the virus. The revelation removed some of the stigma surrounding COVID-19, and emboldened other celebrities to reveal their own diagnoses.

On March 29, shortly after she’d recovered, Wilson posted an Instagram message in which she wrote, “I am so thankful for my health.” As it happened, the date marked another mile stone—5 years had passed since her medical team declared her breast cancer-free. In the same post, she expressed gratitude for “the doctors, nurses, friends and family who got me through that time.” Wilson was originally diagnosed with lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS), abnormal cells in her breast’s milk-producing glands, called lobules.
LCIS isn’t cancer, but it increases the risk for invasive breast cancer.

The LCIS eventually turned into pleomorphic lobular carcinoma in situ (PLCIS), a form doctors believe is more likely to turn into PHOTOGRAPHY: JIM JORDAN cancer than LCIS. After Wilson had lumpectomies (surgery to remove the abnormal tissue), her doctor told her she didn’t have cancer, but
“I had a gut feeling,” she says. “Some fraction of patients who are diagnosed with LCIS will eventually go on to develop an actual cancer, either from that original site or somewhere else in the breast,” says V.K. Gadi, MD, PhD, professor and director of Medical Oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. (He did not treat Wilson.)

It turned out Wilson was one of them. When she got a second opinion,
she learned that her PLCIS had progressed to invasive lobular carcinoma. Suddenly, she saw that cancer was no longer a disease that only happened
to other people. “Once you have something happen to you, you realize that you’re just a statistic,” she says. “There’s nothing that protects you.”

SURVIVING CANCER

The months following Wilson’s cancer diagnosis were filled with a series of critical tasks needed to plan and carry out her treatment. Therapy for invasive lobular carcinoma can involve a lumpectomy or a mastectomy. Wilson opted for a double mastectomy, followed by breast reconstruction surgery. Staying focused on the process of surviving left her little time to dwell on the enormity of having cancer. “Once I had the permanent implants put in and the surgery went well, then I could start feeling a bit more relaxed,” she says.
Mindfulness meditation helped her get through that dark time.
She made it a permanent part of her post-cancer lifestyle, along with other healthy habits like swimming, walking, and practicing yoga.
She began to eat less red meat, replacing it with more fish and grains.
And she cut back on alcohol, which some studies suggest can increase the risk for breast cancer recurrence.
“These things are now a part of my life. They’re not going to change,” she says. “Once you’ve had a health crisis, you don’t want to mess around with it.”

“THROW ME A PARTY”

Before Wilson was pronounced cancer-free and could begin to feel a sense of relief, she had moments of anxiety and fear. The uncertainty of not knowing whether her cancer would cooperate with treatment, or if she’d survive her surgery, led to a discussion Wilson never expected to have in her 50s. “I was having a conversation with my husband, which was about if I should go before him, certain things that I’d like to have happen. One of them was, ‘I’d like you to throw me a party. And I want to have all of my friends there,’” she recalls.

“I wanted it to be something that allowed people to celebrate my life.” She captured her request in the song, “Throw Me a Party,” featured on her 2019 album, Halfway to Home. One line goes, “I always lived like there wasn’t enough time.” Cancer brought a keen awareness that time is a resource in limited supply. “The choices that I made after that were that I only wanted to do the things that I really love … and do the work that I feel is really meaningful,” she says.

 WHAT DO I WANT?

The discovery of her life’s meaning came relatively late. Her acting career
had already spanned more than 30 years, with memorable roles in films like Sleepless in Seattle, Runaway Bride, and Jingle All The Way. In 2005, Wilson had a soul-searching moment when she finally asked herself, “What do I want?” The impetus for the question came from an interview with Oprah Winfrey she’d read in the Los Angeles Times. The multimedia icon attributed her success to her ability to find clarity about her purpose in life.

“I ask people what it is they want,” Winfrey said in the article, “and you would be amazed at how few of them know… If you focus on what you want, things clear up. If you don’t, you get stuck in this muddled, fuzzy place.” Wilson had been so caught up with her acting career and family (she has two sons with Hanks), that she hadn’t even considered what she wanted. But once she stopped to think about it, the answer was clear. “It was music,” she says.
“I feel like people have things inside them that they want, that are yearnings … something that they feel is a true part of who they are.

For me that was always music, but I had become an actor at such a young age and that took off, and I never really looked back.” In 2012, she released an album of cover songs called AM/FM, but she secretly yearned to be a singer-songwriter. Without the ability to read music or play an instrument fluently, Wilson figured it was out of the question. Then, a chance meeting with producer/songwriter Kara DioGuardi landed her a mentor. “Kara asked me, ‘What do you want to do?’

I said, ‘I’d give anything to write a song like you.’ She said, ‘Well, why can’t you do that?’” DioGuardi offered to write the first two songs with her. Her first original album, the country/pop-inspired Rita Wilson, came out in 2016. It included collabo rations with a roster of top songwriters/producers (Kristian Bush of Sugarland, Richard Marx, and the Warren Brothers, among others). She followed it up in 2018 with Bigger Picture.

COVID DAYS

Wilson now counts herself among the members of two survivor communities—breast cancer and COVID-19. She and her husband fell ill with the virus and recovered in Queensland, Australia, where Hanks had been filming a Baz Luhrmann movie about the life of Elvis Presley, and Wilson had performed a concert at the Sydney Opera House.

It’s an experience she doesn’t want to relive. “It was about 10 days of very
bad [symptoms]. I had a relatively high fever. I was extremely nauseous. I had vertigo. I had stomach issues, achiness, and a headache that would not go away. I lost taste and smell. All of these things, combined with this unbelievable shivering,” she says. “I never want to get it again.” If there could be any upside to her two-week long quarantine in Australia, it was the surprising collaboration that came out of it.

On March 22 of last year, Wilson posted an Instagram video of herself rapping along with Naughty By Nature’s 1992 classic, “Hip Hop Hooray.” She’d learned the tongue twister of a song for the 2019 film Boy Genius, a process that she compares to “learning Shakespeare, but if you’ve never spoken English.” COVID-19 had left her feeling a little “fuzzy.” She recorded herself performing the song to see if her mind was still limber enough to remember the
lyrics.

“I thought, maybe I’ll post it to let people know I’m doing OK,” she says. “And it became crazy viral.”  The hip-hop trio loved it so much that they teamed up with Wilson on a remix. All profits from the song go to support the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, which helps musicians affected by the coronavirus pandemic. “It was so much fun!” she says. “They invited me to do it live with them when they go back on tour. You know I’m going to do that!”

GIVING BACK

Wilson found another way to put a positive spin on her COVID-19 ordeal. Both she and Hanks plan to donate their plasma (the liquid portion of their blood) to UCLA (as of our interview date), in the hope that the antibodies their immune systems produce against the virus might help others who get sick.  Researchers there are studying immune responses against the virus, as well as the effectiveness of convalescent plasma therapy, an experimental treatment for severe COVID-19.

“The hope is that the antiviral antibodies in the plasma could reduce the effects of the virus, assist in recovery, and hopefully reduce mortality,” says Otto Yang, MD, professor of medicine and associate chief of infectious diseases at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine.
Yang’s team is looking at the level of antibodies in people who’ve been infected, and how quickly those antibodies drop over time.

Theoretically, antibodies could provide protection against future infection with the virus.
He appreciates the awareness Wilson and Hanks have brought to UCLA’s research efforts. “They’ve been supportive and have publicized this project and a couple of others,” he says. Wilson says she and her husband were more than happy to help. “We knew that it would be incredibly helpful to people,” she says.

 TAKING NOTHING FOR GRANTED

Living through two major health scares has left
Wilson with a profound sense of gratitude.

She has a lot to be thankful for—not only good health, but also several musical projects she’s launched since getting over COVID-19. In 2020, she released the songs “When This Is Over,” a collaboration with country artists Jimmie Allen and the Oak Ridge Boys, “What I Would Say,” about dealing with a loved one’s addiction, and “Everybody Cries” for the war drama The Outpost, which has been generating some Oscar buzz.
She’s also collaborated with country music legend Dolly Parton, as well as Monica, Jordin Sparks, and Sara Evans, on the single [Official Lyric Video] ‘PINK’ Song:
The inspiring song from Wilson and the powerhouse group of country, pop and R&B superstars dropped on Thursday (Oct. 22), and benefits the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization.
“Someday/ Pink will just be a color/ Not a ribbon to remember/ A best friend or a mother/ Someday/ You won’t have to put a wig on/ And a baseball cap will just be a hat/ Not somethin’ to hide under/ ‘Cause your hair is gone/ Some day’s comin’ any day,”
Parton and Monica sing in the opening verse.

“The song is not just for someone who is a survivor or going through breast cancer treatment, it is for anyone who loves someone who has been impacted by breast cancer. That’s what I love about the song, and I’m so excited to return to the Opry to sing it live,” Wilson, a breast cancer survivor, said in a statement.
Breast cancer kills more than 42,000 women and men annually in the U.S., with 1 in 8 women facing a diagnosis at some point in her lifetime. The Opry show will air at 8:00 p.m. ET on Circle and Gray TV stations as well as DISH Studio Channel 102, Sling TV, and other TV affiliates in addition to a livestream hosted by four-time CMA nominee Carly Pearce on Circle All Access Facebook, YouTube and Twitter; The Opry can also be heard on 650 WSM-AM, wsmonline.com, and SiriusXM: Willie’s Roadhouse.

According to the release, an in-venue audience of 1,100 is expected for the show, in compliance with Nashville Public Health Department guidelines for socially distanced seating, mandatory masks for all guests and staff and enhanced cleaning practices.
“We are extremely honored that these amazing artists have lent their immense talents to help us give a moment of hope and inspiration to everyone touched by breast cancer,” said Paula Schneider, CEO of Susan G. Komen, in a statement about the song (written by Kinsey, Jodi Marr and Shaw). “As a breast cancer survivor who lost my mother to metastatic breast cancer, I know first-hand the toll this disease takes on entire families.
There is life before breast cancer and life after. We all dream of a world when pink is just another color.” A portion of the proceeds will support Susan G. Komen’s mission to save lives from breast cancer. “What I learned was that each day is so precious and so valuable, and life is so fragile. I really do not want to live one day not telling the people I love that I love them, not finding joy in everything I do, and not without a huge sense of gratitude that I get to be creative, that I get to write music, and produce movies, and act, and do the things that I love to do,” she says. “It’s really about not taking anything for granted. Not one thing.”  AprilMayJune_Digital.Ads.highresR3.pdf (webmd.com)
