Who are you, Human?

Principles in spiritual healing

The way we answer this question will determine the purpose and meaning of our lives. Although it seems the answer is simple,  the problem of  modern humans is that they do not fully realize what humans constitute.  We’ll try to answer this fundamental question of existence, based on the ancient wisdom of  the Vedas. The ancient scriptures on earth – the Vedas say,  that the human is composed of  three main structures: the physical body, subtle body, or the mind, and the soul, which is the source of consciousness….

God has built the human body with defense systems that respond to attacks by sickness and disease. Because He has placed healing processes in the body, God may use medicine to heal, aiding the natural defenses of the body.

Spiritual energy

Spiritual energy is no less real than any other energy, like electricity for example, but         is vastly more important. Spiritual energy is prana (also known as “universal life force”   or “qi”) carried by pure love.

Invoking spiritual energy

An aspirant invokes Spiritual energy through prayer.

Spiritual energy is invoked by any true spiritual or humanitarian motive. Anyone who is following their higher aspirations, who is being of genuine service to others, who is coming closer to a realization of their own Divinity – is invoking this energy to some extent. One of the simplest and most potent ways of doing this is through prayer – especially when done according to yogic principles.

It should be stressed that this is a natural process – not a supernatural one. The energy comes from within God –  as  all  things  do – but it is nevertheless an aspect of nature – albeit a higher aspect which science as we know it does not yet understand. The quantity and quality of energy invoked  is determined  by  precise metaphysical laws,  not  by  the whim of a mythical deity.  Likewise,  the greater the quantity and quality of this energy, and the better it is directed to its target, the more effect it will have.

In simple terms, if one person prays for world peace for five minutes, in a rather hopeless, apathetic fashion,  that person will not invoke enough energy  to have much effect  on  the world – though this is still better than not praying at all.  However,  if you had ten million people praying for world peace for an hour,  with  all  their hearts and souls,  and with full concentration, this would have a very marked effect on the state of the world – no matter what their religion was.

In Operation Prayer Power, a Cosmic Mission performed by The Aetherius Society, spiritual energy is invoked and stored in spiritual energy batteries, and then later released in a concentrated form to maximize its effect.

The spiritual energy crisis and how to solve it

The primary energy crisis on Earth today is the spiritual energy crisis. If this crisis were solved, no other energy crises would exist.  The problem,  as Dr. King has explained it,  is that people put their “gross physical energy desires” before their “spiritual energy needs.” It is practical applied spirituality – spirituality united with an open — minded yet precise scientific approach – which will herald the dawn of a new and better world for all.             As The Master Jesus so wisely stated through Dr. King in 1957:

The Age which is breaking now, brings with it great possibilities and is the age of science. Science, by itself, is like the soulless wanderer of the realms of night. Yet a warmth will come out of love, to fashion it into a tool, so that it becometh as a wise man, finding his home. Warm it with that love, my brothers. Let that wondrous, everlasting power from your hearts fall upon this science, so that it becometh as a tool in the hands of everlasting Divinity, and not that soulless thing which you have made of it.

One way to look at the spiritual energy crisis is by examining the problems which exist     on Earth today.  It is self-evident  that a large proportion of these problems  boil down to one thing:  the way people think,  and the way they act as a result of thinking in that way. Selfishness, petty greed, jealousy, untamed lust, violent anger, vengeance all these things are the result of the low level of spiritual consciousness prevalent on this planet. Spiritual energy raises consciousness, thereby reducing these problems.

To many people, the causes of problems such as famine, drought, earthquakes, and other types of so-called natural disaster have nothing to do with humankind; these things are simply regarded as random misfortune. Whereas, in actual fact, certain natural disasters are the direct result of our abuse of our environment – especially through nuclear experimentation.

Looking at it at a more subtle level, every thought that we think has an effect on our environment.  All the violent emotions associated with war,  for example, cause the release of negative energy to the devic kingdom (i.e. nature spirits), and this release in turn has an adverse effect on environmental conditions. In addition to this, we should bear in mind that the extent of human suffering, whether this suffering is caused by natural catastrophe or not, is inextricably linked to the law of karma.

Through karmic manipulation  and  spiritual energy release,  The Aetherius Society’s  Cosmic Missions Operation Sunbeam and the Saturn Mission help to reduce the suffering which would otherwise take place as a result of natural disasters.  The other three Cosmic Missions  performed  by  the  Society,  namely Operation Prayer PowerOperation Space Power and Operation Space Power II also have a significant impact on reducing the spiritual energy crisis.

However, whether we believe in Aetherius Society teachings or not,  all  of  us  can  help   solve  the spiritual energy crisis  simply by being better people –  by  being  the  very best people we can possibly be – especially through service. Not “best” in a materialistic sense – but the best in terms of how true we are to our higher selves – to the Divine spark within us all which is what makes us what we truly are.

If we have an inclination towards spirituality, then all the better – let us pray with all     our hearts and souls for a better world, but if we do not, there are still countless ways        of genuinely helping others.

Cancer patients in positive thinking trial

by CHRIS BROOKE, Daily Mail

Cancer patients are being given tips in positive thinking to see if it can help fight the disease. Some experts believe brain power may not only ease mental trauma but also stop diseased cells spreading.

The theory will be tested on 180 bowel cancer sufferers.

‘This is a very exciting and innovative piece of research,’ said Professor Leslie Walker, who is running the University of Hull project.

‘In three years’ time it will yield very important information about the relationship between the mind and the body.’

In the trial, chemotherapy patients at two hospitals in Humberside will be offered the chance to learn ‘relaxation’ and ‘guided imagery’ techniques.

As well as relaxing their muscles, they will be asked to visualise their white blood cells tackling the cancer.

Professor Walker said: ‘Some like to use the fighting metaphor. The white blood cells      are like soldiers with bayonets attacking the cancerous cells.

‘Others prefer the healing metaphor. They visualise a white light which is penetrating     the cancer and therefore promoting health.’

Researchers will look for changes in the white blood cell count as well as in quality of life, coping, mood and stress.

They have been given a £ 308,000 grant by Cancer Research UK and £95,000 by the NHS.

Research published last November, however, showed little-evidence of mind overcoming matter in cancer patients.

Doctors reviewed 26 cases which investigated a possible link between cancer survival and different psychological coping styles. These included fighting spirit, hopelessness, denial and avoidance.

Dr Jill Graham, of the Cancer Research UK unit at St Thomas’ Hospital, London, said: ‘This research says if you’re feeling down and depressed you shouldn’t panic. It won’t affect your recovery or cause a relapse.’

Professor Walker, however, believes, thinking in a particular way may influence               the body’s disease-fighting systems.

‘The brain can release a number of hormones and other substances, which in turn affect how white blood cells work,’ he said.

A study on breast cancer patients three years ago showed that patients who used their imagination in this way produced ‘significant differences’ in their white blood cells, although it is not known to what extent this affected the disease.

Terry Thornley, 62, has been using guided imagery to help fight bowel cancer                     for 15 months.

He has undergone chemotherapy, radiotherapy, three operations and is now recovering. Recent tests showed no cancerous cells or tumours in his body.

The retired lecturer, from Leconfield near Hull, is convinced imagery has helped him tackle the disease.

‘It reduces your anxiety, your sense of helplessness and you regain control of events,’        he said. ‘It also helps to improve your quality of life.’
