Cancer Warrioress

Create YOUR OWN VERSION of what makes you shine!
Why not? Life is far too short to play small!

“I am choosing to love the cancer, see it as a gift and bring myself to healing through making peace with the cancer cells within my body.”
— Tara Coyote  🙂

The number one cancer of my friends on Facebook is breast cancer. And when I begin chatting with them I ask any stress or emotional conflict beforehand and they say how did you know. The three leading causes is divorce or complicated relationship (sense of loss), mother daughter or daughter mother conflict and school teachers get hit hard also. And for Tara Coyote she fits that type of individual?

In a two year time period, Tara Coyote witnessed two of her best friends die young from cancer and went through a personal divorce.

In 2014-2015, I witnessed my gorgeous, vibrant friend at the age of 44 be diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, endure chemotherapy and treatment and die 22 months later. I was by her side throughout her whole journey as one of her main caretakers. I saw her go from an 110 lb. energetic force of nature to a 65 lb. shell of her former self at her death. It was the most heartbreaking, horrifying and yet beautifully powerful experiences of my life. All the endless days spent at the hospital with her have left their mark upon me and
so I chose what was right for me.

While I am grateful for many aspects western medicine and certainly value the medical advances it has made in certain modalities, I am pushing back against the western perspective on healing cancer.  There is another way.  The fear that is conjured up through the western system to submit to their so-called ‘healing’ protocol propels us into not questioning what is healthy for our bodies. And I refused to buy into that fear. I know my body well. I know what
I need to heal. I trust in the wisdom, food and natural health protocols that have served me well my whole life. Tara was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer in September 2016.

After much consideration and soul searching, she decided to take her health into her own hands & heal with her own unique path using alternative & natural methods … and began healing at a remarkable pace! She decided to heal her body exclusively through natural methods and was almost cancer free one year later. It had been a wondrous journey, full of reminders of how precious and fleeting life is and Tara went public with her cancer healing journey through writing, sharing the highs and lows of the path and discoveries about the modern day cancer paradigm through her website: www.CancerWarrioress.com

The western method of healing is prescribing 4.5 intense months of a powerhouse form
of chemotherapy called ACT (a cocktail of three drugs), followed by surgery, radiation and
10 years of being on a hormone replacement drug — if I even survive that long. My life journey for the past 20+ years has been a deep dive into my own health and wellness as I have an autoimmune thyroid condition that compromises my immune system. As a result, I eat a very clean and healthy organic diet. I live a lifestyle that supports my body, mind, and spirit, surrounded by nature on a beautiful ranch with my horses and blessed beasts in the Sierra Nevada foothills. In short, I know my body very well. Listening to my deeper wisdom,
I chose a different route.

And guess what, it worked!
Due to a strong support system, the horses on my ranch at Wind Horse Sanctuary, my dear partner Syris, my family, dogs, my spiritual practice and a steel inner strength, I am healing, thriving and greeting each day as it comes. This is my own heroine’s journey,  I have the power at hand to choose what will indeed heal me. I choose life. My body created this opportunity for me to choose a life of balance for myself and I am grateful for the lessons I am learning. In many ways this is the greatest gift I have been given, to realize how precious life is. I can either choose to embrace each moment and live it to the fullest or whittle away
in the illusions of my mind.

If you were told you had a year to live, what would you do?
How would you live your life?
How would you embrace the sacred gift you’ve been given?
Take a moment to truly swim in these questions; you might gain some new insights
that could change your life!

Why do I use the term Cancer Warrioress?
Well, frankly the courage it takes to navigate the diagnosis is immense, not only is it challenging within my own mind but the choice I’m making to heal myself with an alternative healing protocol is drawing considerable opposition from the medical world, family and certain friends. I know I’ve ruffled some feathers and created confusion when I’ve been present with certain doctors sharing what I’m doing and how I’m healing. I am not choosing to be at war with my body and the cancer cells.
I am choosing to love the cancer, see it as a gift and bring myself to healing through making peace with the cancer cells within my body.
This term ‘WARRIORESS’ originates from the place of empowerment it is necessary to hold through having a cancer diagnosis. This is the most demanding experience I have ever had. It requires me to stand strong in my own decision to heal myself through natural means and be in my truth in the face of immense opposition from society, doctors, family and friends.

I Love sharing my wisdom & insights with others!!!
Throughout this journey, I have learned so much and given the incredible progress I’ve made, I want to share my wisdom and support with others. I’ve explored my cancer from all different angles. After extensive research, I’ve implemented as serious daily regimen (see my healing protocol here), I’m sifting through past wounds and learning to honor and care for myself on
a deeper level and have stepped back from the hamster wheel of society and my mind. I’ve walked through the storm of emotions and feelings that this journey is offering as a gift for my healing and I am coming out on the other side. Stronger. Braver. Wiser.

This is not an easy road to embark on. I’ve ruffled some feathers and created confusion when I’ve shared my healing protocol with certain doctors. There are some that are open to hearing bold and worthy new ideas but the majority are stuck in the viewpoint of an archaic system. Please note: I don’t wish to alienate those choosing an allopathic route. If you have chosen this route and you feel good with it, that’s great! I am speaking to truth of MY experience. I am not discounting western medicine as a whole as there are advancements in certain fields that are miraculous. My views are specific to the cancer industry.

By sharing my story and my wisdom, I hope to provide the encouragement for others to explore the wide possibilities of healing available to them. I want others to know that they are not alone. Cancer can be a challenging journey and we need all the support, love and encouragement we can get. Those of us brave enough to go against mainstream protocol in whatever unique way you do so are path makers. We’re forging a way for others to find their own alternative route. I invite all of you on this journey to keep courageously speaking up and being in your truth as you will inspire others to do the same!

While in challenging situations, horses can help us find the true balance needed to bring balance into our lives. She has also trained in extensive shadow work, leading women’s groups through embracing and learning to love their shadow. Tara has since sold her ranch a year ago and moved back home to her ancestral home of Kaua’i to heal. Which is a big part of why she thinks she’s doing so well now!  http://www.windhorsesanctuary.com/
